What is an eSIM?

An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM built into your device. It works like a physical SIM but doesn’t require a card. Buy a plan in the app, install the international eSIM, and connect to local networks wherever you travel.

Why choose Saily

• No roaming fees. Use prepaid data for international travel at transparent rates.
• Wide coverage. Get travel internet in 200+ destinations by connecting to the leading local networks.
• Activate in minutes. Purchase, install, and turn on your eSIM for travel with guided steps.
• Keep your number. Saily eSIMs are data only, so your physical SIM can stay active for calls and SMS.
• Flexible plans. Choose between local, regional, and global options to match any itinerary.
• Top up anytime. Add more data in a few taps. No contracts or long-term commitments.
• Manage in one app. Track usage, view validity, and purchase new eSIM plans as your route changes.
• Built-in security features. Optional tools help you browse more safely on the go. Set a virtual location, block ads and trackers, and enable web protection to avoid risky domains.
• Trusted origin. Built by the team behind NordVPN — a global leader in digital security.

How it works

1. Install the app and check availability for your destination.
2. Choose a plan for your destination or the region you’ll travel in.

Saily eSIM: Travel & Data App Comments & Reviews

Saily eSIM: Travel & Data Positive Reviews

Make sure to activate before you travel…The app itself is simple to use and setting the eSIM on my phone was a breeze. The service itself is good while I was in Cancun, Mexico. Only thing I’d say is… don’t overdo it with the data plan. I was on a 5 night trip and I thought… 10 gigs should cover things. Ended up coming back and used only 25% of the data. I think choosing 5 gig with the option of adding more, if needed would have been a better idea. If I needed to add, it would have only cost a little more than the 10 gig plan and chances are I wouldn’t have used all the data… which brings me to the other thing you should do… Make sure to activate the eSIM and plan BEFORE traveling… because if you activate it when you get to your destination… you’ll either have to find public WiFi or use your regular data plan using international roaming to set up the eSIM because it needs to connect/contact Saily to get it working. In my case, my international roaming from my carrier said their partnered carrier would charge me $2.84 per MEGABYTE… not per gigabyte… per MEGABYTE, which is absolutely insane. So ended up having to get to the resort and activate the eSIM over the public WiFi there. Also… my data usage would have been more than 25% of the 10 GB, if I had realized that I needed to turn on Data Roaming on the eSIM. Otherwise, you essentially may have no data service when you move from one place to another. Didn’t realize this until maybe… 2/3 of the way through my trip. But all in all a simple service to use and a simple app to use….Version: 3.24.6

Worked like a charm. As a first time eSIM user I had a bit of trepidation but this app worked flawlessly for me. I guess if you need a local phone number this isn’t the way to go, but I just mostly wanted Maps and email and the ability to send iMessages (only Blue works), use FaceTime, WhatsApp, and generally feel connected. Being on an unlimited data plan at home I didn’t really have a sense of how much data I’d need. Bought 1gb for 3 days in London and 10gb for 30 days in Spain (was only there for 14 days but that wasn’t an option). Left each country with data to spare. So I spent a total of about $21. My carrier’s International Plan would have cost $170. Easy to set up. I just followed their instructions to the letter. I guess my only slight complaint is in the wording of the installation instructions - which at one point say something like Activate your SIM (which can be done anytime up to 30 days before you actually touch down in your new country) but that is different than the actual Activation - which shouldn’t happen until just before you arrive at your destination (while you still have internet access) as that begins your clock. Another thing I noticed - that wasn’t a problem - is that in the UK my eSIM didn’t work with my VPN active, but it did in Spain. Different rules for different carriers I suppose. Bottom line it was easy to use, did exactly what I needed it to do and saved me a bunch of dough..Version: 2.5.0

A little tricky but smooth sailingI am traveling throughout Europe and had some difficulty switching plans between countries. I should’ve opted for a regional/global plan from the start; and I recommend to anyone going between 3-4 countries in a week should look into this. Other than that I am very thankful for this service. My provider would’ve charged me 4x as much if not more for as often as I’ve had to use GPS, or message people while on the go. I said it’s a little tricky in my title, but that’s only because it’s my first time using an ESim, and I think I over complicated things looking back by trying to use individual plans for each country I was in. I’m sure next time I need to use an ESIM it’ll be much easier, as it’s designed to be foolproof. I am just a bigger fool than I thought..Version: 3.19.0

Works well in TaiwanI bought 10 GB 30 day package for Taiwan and used it in June 2025. I traveled most of the island - everywhere that my local counterpart had cell service, I had it too. The setup was incredibly easy once I got my regular mobile service provider in the USA to unlock my phone. I would not hesitate to use this again. I only used 4.45 GB in 2 weeks, and was only on wifi in the evenings at my lodging location. However, I did turn off data usage on all the apps except for the ones I regularly use like email, messaging, maps, and safari browser. Find My apparently uses a lot of data but I turned it off when I had my Airtag’d items secured, and turned it back on when I needed it..Version: 3.15.0

App Saved My Life!I traveled to Dominican Republic with my phone that is unlocked “so my phone does not work outside of the USA” I usually purchase a SIM card from the country that I am visiting, that way I can use internet while out in the country for uber and WhatsApp. Unfortunately for some reason phone companies in Dr were not able to support my phone. Just before panicking I googled mobile hot spot near me. I had no clue it was possible for me to purchase Wi-Fi services directly from an app which is the only thing I need when I travel outside the country and super convenient being that my phone does not work once I leave airport Wi-Fi. Great app guys this company will to far 👌🏽.Version: 3.3.0

The best one out there for e-simsI cannot tell you how much money I’ve spent on Airalo for the sims to never work! Honestly this worked like a charm for my two week India trip and then a one day Germany trip. I will never use Airalo ever again!!! The data is super fast and reliable and the top up is easy. When you’re down to 0.8 gb, it’ll kinda slow down a lot so make sure to the check the app for top up’s. One thing I want to mention, make absolutely sure that your app refreshing is off! It’ll eat up your data unnecessarily otherwise. And close all apps, don’t keep them open..Version: 3.0.1

50-50I thought that this eSIM for TRAVEL would give me a local phone number in Thailand so my THAI, family and friends can call me while I was visiting there. No such thing happened. This eSIM is simply a data plan, and the only way friends and family can contact me is through messaging apps like Viber, FaceTime, the TextNow phone app, etc. This EMM will not, I repeat, not, give you a local phone number that friends and other contacts can call you at. I ended up having to get another eSIM for this purpose. What this app is good for is data more than anything else. But if you want a local phone number, this is not the eSIM for you. I wish I’d known this before I got it. Well, that’s money gone, but a lesson learned. Thank you!.Version: 3.6.0

Almost TOO easy to useI’m staying in Guatemala for 3 weeks and this eSIM has been a life saver! Anytime I have traveled abroad before I’ve had to buy a physical sim and it’s always been a long, annoying process and many times it doesn’t work at all! I didn’t have to go to a bodega to get a physical sim or keep track of my original sim for the duration of my trip. The instructions were so clear it took me less than 10 minutes to activate. So far I’ve had great service everywhere, seems like they utilize Claro for 5g connection. Highly recommend..Version: 1.1.0

Worked great initially but cut me off my data earlyI bought an eSIM for the first time and after looking online, decided to give Saily a shot. At first, it was easy—setup, worked instantly, no connection issues. I bought 10GB for 30days. 13 days in, I couldn’t use my data. I checked my mobile usage period on my phone and it said I’d used 7GB. When I was able to get on WIFI to talk to a service agent, they said it had expired with no way to check or track from their app. I hadn’t used all my data and my days hadn’t expired so this was unsettling as I needed my phone for the last two days of my trip. For this reason, I wouldn’t recommend it. They’re off to a great start but there’s room for improvement..Version: 2.7.0

ExcellentI use Mint as my cell provider in the US, so I bought “Minternational” passes to provide me with service while in the UK and Amsterdam. Well, where I was in England and Wales, I consistently had little or no service through my pass. I was able to easily purchase and activate the Saily eSIM for the UK, which gave me excellent service throughout my trip there. I was ready to buy another Saily eSIM for the Netherlands, but my Minternational pass worked fine there. On future trips, I will just plan to use Saily throughout, which is also cheaper..Version: 3.20.0

Saily is the hottest cell service on the planet if you never know where you’ll be tomorrow no matterIf you are in America or almost any other place in the world saily can provide you help to achieve your goals. Try saily now to experience the spectacular reliability and loyalty saily offers up at a personable price for you. No matter what you’re looking for saily can help you. This is my passion to share the good word of these great up and coming companies!.Version: 3.11.0

Awesome service in Europe/Africa but bewareHad the same coverage as the locals. Great service. Awesome digital customer service (not a bot). Reasonable prices. However, I found myself confused with no service, and running out of data. My phone would show cell service, and the Saily App would say I have enough data left. When I connected to WiFi I got service, and the Saily app got connection. Then alerted me I was out of data. I would love to atleast go on the Saily app when I’ve run out of data, to purchase more data. But I can’t. Atleast id love to see a low data alert..Version: 3.3.0

New UserAlthough I had my initial reservations about using Saily eSIM, specifically in light of the connection hiccups at the airport but once I got in touch with their customer service it all worked out well and I have been happy with the connectivity and service here in Vietnam . It’s a bit pricey compared to other eSIMS that I had used in the past but I recommend it for its reliability. The only thing is I don’t know how I could have used up 35 GB in 20 days despite the fact that I’m connected to WiFi most of the time..Version: 3.28.0

App works great, but you gotta understandI'm not rating the app per se. The app works really well. The problem is that Saily doesn't explain how to use the eSIM when abroad. You need to turn off the primary line when away from WiFi and turn it back on again when back to WiFi. Otherwise, you could get a text from someone at home and incur the Verizon or AT&T ten dollar daily roaming charge. If that primary line is turned off as it should be, texting doesn’t work and you are forced to use WhatsApp instead. Saily doesn't make that clear. Hence the three stars..Version: 3.26.1

Fast for remote work while traveling even on an islandOn recommendation of The Friday Checkout YouTuber, used Saily on a recent trip to Croatia and was really impressed. Setup was simple, the hotspot actually worked at full speed unlike US roaming plans. It appears it’s secured by NordVPN, so I felt safer using it for work and in general. When I left it was easy to transfer the remaining data to my family to use it up. And they did..Version: 3.16.0

Doesn't work in TurkeyI purchased data while I was in Italy and when I tried to activate at wifi at the airport in Istanbul the app wouldn't even open. Error messages, even the Vodaphone store help me check all my phone settings & concluded that Saily no longer worked in Istanbul. Without being able to even open the app I could not request a refund till this day. Saily is aware that there's an issue. Do NOT buy for Turkey, find one that starts with the letter M it works all over the world and it has incredible rates.Version: 3.21.1

Best eSIM appI have used Airalo for a long time, but every once and awhile I would face issues that made it impossible to use my eSIM. Recently after buying a new plan i was unable to get a signal, after talking to several chatbots and waiting for a human to respond for half a day I gave up on Airalo and downloaded Saily. 5 minutes and I have a working eSIM. They couldn’t have made the process smoother and easier..Version: 3.2.0

Not for BaliWorked ok in Thailand and France but not in Bali. I did hours of troubleshooting on my own and with support, but couldn’t get service in very central areas. I even asked locals and they had good internet connection so it wasn’t the area. Support is responsive and they refunded since it was only 2 days. Disappointing since it worked in other places, it was never a strong, hi speed connection, but fine for ride apps and maps. Installing was easier than nomad or airolo, until I got to Bali. Now searching for a new provider….Version: 3.17.2

I should have been more specificSaily eSIM worked great for us when we were in France. The only problem was that we forgot to indicate we would also be crossing the border in to Switzerland. We couldn’t understand why the app stopped working. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Be sure, if you’ll be traveling across multiple borders to order coverage for those nations too! Now we know for next time!.Version: 3.38.1

Clutch App for International TravelingDownloaded recently after T-mobile completely cut off my data even though I paid for an international plan. Immediately was hooked up with high speed data at a fraction of the cost compared to what I was paying before. Super easy to set up & performs exactly as advertised. Highly recommended to all of my friends traveling abroad..Version: 3.2.0

PerfectionSaily was the perfect solution for my trip to Europe. It was seamless once I had the settings right. The online support helped get me set up in a heartbeat. When others in my group were struggling with no connection, Saily came through every time. I can not recommend this enough for affordability, reliability and ease of use. Saily is my personal solution when traveling abroad..Version: 3.20.0

App is getting better :)Nice to see that the developers are listening to our reviews. My former complaint about not rotating to iPad lansdcape view is now fixed. Thank a lot :) Dark mode is still missing, it’s hard on the eyes for fellow passengers on a night flight. Will try inverse color in accessibility until app gets native dark mode mode. Data service is very good in Europe, but was very sketchy in India last winter 2025, hope it has improved for my trip this fall..Version: 3.20.0

No alerts when data runs lowThis is such a great product that fails to provide the astonishingly simple feature of alerting you when your data is running low. It simply cuts off — forcing you to open and check. If you are out of data, you won’t even know, and with no connectivity there’s no way to top up. This is such an unfailingly simple feature that its absence makes for -2 stars in my book..Version: 3.35.0

Stopped working on the last day.Tl;dr: I could not connect to data on my last day in Japan trying to navigate to the airport, and Saily basically told me I was out of luck and on my own. ~~~~~~~ Be me, navigating complicated train systems in Japan for 8 days. Saily, cute interface design and pretty decent connection during the first 7 days. Sometimes randomly spotty connection, reset iPhone, no more problem. (Albeit annoying) On last day going to airport, no data. Contact Saily support, tried many solutions, still no data. Told me “Oh, that’s unfortunate, as we seem to have exhausted all of the available options [we will get back to you in a day with a solution]” Used ATT international roaming instead. Lesson learned: Trust track record not chic design when buying internet plans..Version: 2.0.0

Great speeds, easy to use!Saily works well in the US and in the EU - I used code FREEGO6158 for $3 off. Setup was easy and speeds were consistently fast. Tip - rename your eSIMs so you don’t mix them up and make sure you enable data roaming on your Saily eSIM!.Version: 2.6.0

Working great in the USUsing this apps for a trip over the border, had no trouble setting up. Make sure you set Saily for Cellular Data and turn data roaming on. I followed instructions on Reddit to use wifi calling over cellular and it work well..Version: 2.6.0

Just awesome!Installation and activation were simple, quick and flawless due to great design and clear instructions. I have been using all across New York and Massachusetts states. Performance has yielded consistent 5G speeds and the app monitors usage. Pricing is very fair and uncomplicated. It just works without hassle. And when you travel, this is what you need..Version: 2.5.0

SplendidGood soup..Version: 2.4.1

Daily is 10x Better than AiraloAiralo is a scam that has a dumb AI customer support, does not connect you with humans, does not allow you to request a refund, and eventually the AI stopped answering. Saily was set up and ready to go in under 5 minutes..Version: 3.41.0

Best eSIM for abroadSo easy to setup and use..Version: 3.37.0

Easy set up…bad communicationSaily was quick and easy to set up and somewhat cheaper than alternatives; however, despite instructing the app to do so, I was not informed my data was running low in a foreign country and got stuck without data. This is a small miss step but an annoying and costly one. Other apps like Airolo are far better at keeping in contact about rates and expiry..Version: 3.37.0

SupportBest AI customer support….Version: 3.37.0

E-SIM InstallI was concerned regarding my installation. I watched a couple of YouTube tutorials and found the installation to be straightforward without any issues. I now have my Saily e-SIM installed and ready for my trip next month to Australia, then a cruise to Singapore..Version: 3.29.0

Works for one dayI’m in Colombia. Bought a 15 day package. It worked for one day.Version: 3.29.0

Simple: it workedNo notes, really. It worked the first time. No tinkering, no support calls. I didn’t go over my data usage. The instructions were simple and easy to follow. The price was right. If it’ll work for your destination you really don’t need anything else..Version: 3.29.0

Facile et fiableLe processus fut fort simple et le signal était toujours fiable..Version: 3.28.0

Great eSIMI’ve used this eSIM app across multiple continents for many months. It’s very reliable and good price. I’ve ran into a few problems with it but the Saily support team is very effective at helping and has been able too work with me through it all. Refunds are easy and I’ve made my fair share of mistakes but they sort them out quickly..Version: 3.28.0
