PhilSnap: Stamp ID & Values Customer Service

Went through a collection of stamps that my husband‘s grandmother collected and saved through her husband‘s travels from the early 1900s through the 1970s. 44 countries represented with over 70 stamps in the collection. Traveling from my kitchen table and reading about why the stamps were created and who the people are that they represent.

This AI powered app is a quick research tool with fairly accurate results. While I’ve encountered some obvious misses, especially with early U.S. issues, I’ve been really impressed with its accuracy on international stamps and the depth of information provided. The Ask Me Anything AI chat function is worth experimenting with and the My Collection tool is a nice feature. Overall, it’s one of the better quick reference philatelic apps on the market and will likely only get better with continued use and model learning.

I like this app and the IDs are generally pretty good. I can’t tell, though, whether this is it or whether there will be other upgrades. For example, there is no way to organize by country or see if you have duplicates and it does not seem like there is any way to export the data. If there are upgrades forthcoming, then this is a good product, but if this is it, then it is very limited. Hoping for additional features.

Overall this app is a keeper. What I’d like to see is better valuations done by stamp, block and sheet. Currently there’s no way of knowing what the value is intending. The other hope would be a marketplace of sorts. One that members could trade, buy and sell with one another. With a small commission going to the house of course… Keep up the great work, looking forward to some updates.

This app is super cool. After 5 seconds it tells you the date of the stamp, country and info. Stores whatever you scanned for a cumulative value of your collection. Highly recommend but too expensive for me to keep past the free trial.

This is an Excellent App!!!! It is very useful for organizing and cataloging your Stamp Collection. As well as providing accurate background information on individual stamps and accurate market values and condition ratings. Very straightforward and easy to navigate, even beginners will find themselves able to understand and navigate the App with ease.

Your app is good. I suggest you to train your AI in to fronts: 1- to experience more similar stamps, especially old faded ones for gets lost and give us varias description. Especially old European kings in similar stamps. 2- digest you to tying it to filter heavy mail or blurred cancelation stamps, generally partially hidden faces. Your AI should be trained in picking up more hints in those stamps for a more accurate description. PS: I ‘ve got myself that the app was not recognized a given series correctly. What I did si put a written him by the stamp ( example Spain/ King Felipe lI) and after a few pics it started to ID that series correctly. Cordially SdM PPS / I logged 4.625 stamps.

Fantastic app! It's easy to use, accurately identifies stamps, and provides reliable value estimates. Customer service was quick to respond, honest, fair, and very helpful. I highly recommend PhilStamp to anyone interested in stamp collecting or selling.

I can’t believe I now can identify fully a huge chunk of my collection. It’s the language and era that I am having difficulties. Also, I now have knowledge how the dead countries and pre independence territories became the current countries they are now.

App is fantastic. My collection is about 99% foreign and stretches from the 1860’s to 1990. It even identified U.S. tax and document stamps from the civil war era. The description and identifying information is extremely helpful. Great job.

Finally something to help organize my stamp collection. I’m not even a quarter through my collection, but now I know what I have and what they’re worth!! Love it

This is absolutely one of the best stamp identification apps I’ve ever used. I have tried many in the past, but this one is spot on.

So I’m new to this whole stamp thing so I’m gonna give this a 2 week trial and let’s see how good this is

Easy and accurate

The app falsely identifies stamps regularly even with good lighting and a blank white background. You can get a different result for the same stamp over and over again. The chat/ai assistant feature will confidently lie to you about stamp information over and over. I "appraised" over 600 stamps with the philsnap app, and every expert I have approached with the information I have gathered from this app has said the information is incorrect. If you use this app and it tells you that your stamps are worth money, please get a second opinion from even a simple google search before wasting time and embarrassing yourself taking to experts who will laugh at you for believing what this app says.

I downloaded this app, and then paid the subscription fee. Unfortunately the app doesn’t work. The information for each stamp seems to be wrong. The issue date more times than not is the wrong year. The descriptions of the stamps seemed to be correct, but that’s about it. Unless the database gets completely reworked, the subscription fee is not worth it

Many stamps that are in mint condition are rated as used and good condition. Corrections need to be made constantly and those do not seem to register to the stamps. Need to be able to assign stamps to collections or classes on the fly. It will be really inconvenient to go back thru after photographing 1000s of stamps to reclass or assign to country collections.

The ease of use is great. Inaccurate identification is an issue. Especially on older stamps. Needs the ability to sort by categories and values. Also it should allow to export your scans to a database. I question the condition grading and wonder how reliable the valuation is. When I take a photo of the same stamp three times. I often get three different values. Too inconsistent.

I don’t know if it’s because it’s new but I found that 3 out five stamps were incorrectly identified either the picture or the amount. I reported them as I found them so I hope that helps. I did find that it would not identify a 1/2 cent stamp correctly after five tries. It kept thinking it was a 2 or 3 cent stamp correctly I just hate it because I had hopes for my Dads collection

Bought it thinking I could scan a page of stamps like they show in the video. Nope. Single stamp at a time and I’m not really learning anything about quality, positioning p, edges and so on. So quick update. Devs left a pointless response. Good news though as I have moved on to using an overhead page scanner combined with AI to identify a page at a time.

Thought this was a godsend. Have a lot of international stamps that I know nothing about. After scanning 1,000 stamps I decided to look at some American stamps which I’m a lot more familiar with. The year of the stamps I was scanning was not even close to the actual stamp. I just wasted 20 hours of my time. I would not recommend this app to anyone

I was so excited to start using this app; after a few days of adding my collection, it scanned a stamp and told me the worth was over $1 million. When I looked closer it wasn’t even the stamp it specified. I then started looking at all the stamps that the app gave me high values on and realized none were correct. What. The. Hell.

It would be great to have a buyer/seller option to be able to buy and sell stamps on this platform.

There really needs to be a way to download the collection to well anywhere. No ability to sort. Valuation is not very good. I have no ability to access the dataset either.

I took photos of 2 different stamps multiple times every time it came back with a completely different value for each of the two stamps. One time it says it’s worth 1 million dollars the next it’s 5-20 then 1,000-1,500 it’s not worth your time.

It seems to be giving just general ideas and prices. Nothing special doesn’t tell you any of the specialty stamps.

Not great at determining whether value - they give you a wide range - not a single value, as advertised. If you scan the same stamp 3 times, you get different pricing. One rare blue ben Franklin was 2-4 million and was scanned again for $75.

Ain’t nothing else that can touch it. Been collecting 3generations and I learned more just scanning a few I have than I knew in 40years

I haven't tried it yet but I'm hoping for the best prepare for the only tell me a few face values then make me pay for it to see them again!

I was using this app with the total confidence until it started giving me completely different identities for the same stamp. Crossed referenced with other research and neither of the identities were accurate! Complete waste of time!

Please make available an export feature to review or share your collection information

Repeat scan of stamp getting different issue dates and different value. Frustrating for beginner to organize by date of issue and value if changes each time scanning same stamp.

See the countries that I have when I click on that 72!!! People want to see and show!

There is no way to access my stamp catalog. I want to send a file or print it out but only can see my collection using the app. What a waste of time inputting 100’s of stamps only to view them on the stupid app.

Give the wrong info on much of my stamps specifically on Mexico revenue stamps, we aware of incorrect year, id, even country sometimes.

Not accurate at all. Didn’t give me any information I couldn’t find online and yet it was still wrong :(
