Localize - Farmers Market Positive Reviews
Amazing App, Super InformativeI came across this app on Instagram, and I’ve been wanting to start buying from local farms and supporting local businesses, especially since I have started dieting and being conscious of what I am putting in my body. This app is really so so awesome I can’t express that enough, and i’m sure your body will thank you after you start buying local and not eating produce and meat from large farms and corporations that use preservatives and nasty chemicals. If you’re looking to better your overall health and wellness (which everyone should be) this app is a must!! Super easy to find local farms that have products like Grassfed Beef, Raw Dairy, Pasture Eggs/Chicken, Fresh Fruits and Vegetables, Seafood, and even products like Skincare and Soap, and so much more which makes the switch to buying clean and local super simple and easy. Thank you Localize!!!.Game=glitchVersion: 1.8
Excellent app and excellent people behind it.I discovered Localize while looking for ways to find local farms and healthier food options in my area. The app is easy to use and makes it simple to find local farmers, ranches, and markets nearby.
What impressed me most wasn’t just the app itself, but the team behind it. They truly stand by their mission. I reached out because I couldn’t afford the subscription, and they kindly provided me with free access exactly as they promised on their website. That level of honesty and customer care is rare today.
If you’re interested in supporting local farmers and finding quality food sources near you, I highly recommend giving Localize a try. The app is useful, the mission is great, and the people behind it genuinely care about their community.MohammadshehadehVersion: 2.6
The Best!First of all, I found this app through an ad and I was excited to try it at first. I almost uninstalled it since I couldn't afford the subscription, that was until I saw the "Nobody left behind" option at the bottom. I emailed them fast, explained my situation, and got a fast response within less than 30 minutes!!! Their customer service is amazing. Gave me an amazing deal!!! The app is straight forward and amazing to use. I always wanted to try shopping from local farms but never knew where to go, and this app has everything!!!.PocodeyoVersion: 2.6
Valuable MissionIn a world of slop from corporations and factory farms, localize is pushing back. The app instantly connected me with 20+ local farms with everything from tomatoes to dairy. When we go to the grocery store, we have no idea where our food comes from. This app allows you to connect with the people who are growing your food. The food you find on here is also higher quality than what you can find in a grocery store and as someone who loves to cook, the most important thing is fresh, high quality ingredients..CheffingBrodyVersion: 2.2
Great app & even better customer supportLocalized is an amazing app for finding fresh local food and supporting small farms and businesses. The app is easy to use, has so many unique products, and really helps connect people to healthier, higher-quality options. What meant the most to me was their kindness, they gave me free access while I was going through a difficult time financially, and that level of compassion truly stood out. I definitely recommend giving it a try..Nabila MunaVersion: 2.6
Very Helpful and Kind Developers! As a new graduate nurse, it is so hard to balance lifestyle, career, and health. Localize App makes it easy to find amazing local farmers and healthy food. Not only are you supporting local farms but also providing your body with non-toxic foods! They were kind enough to accommodate my situation so I’m able to use the app! I am excited to spread the knowledge onto my future patients to help prevent chronic illnesses and keep them healthy! It’s all about planting little seeds everywhere and this app is a great start!.Sashimiii14Version: 2.0
This is what we need!In a world where many grocery stores have produce/meat with who knows what being added to it, it’s a breath of fresh air to have an app like this. I live in an area that doesn’t seem like it would have any farms nearby, but it turns out we do. This app also shows you what farms have what you’re looking for along with any available deals on them. Definitely give it a try! The people behind this app are incredible as well..AskmelaterdudeVersion: 2.6
WellI didn’t actually experience the app. It asked me rate it before I even used it. The fact that it’s not free was a hard no for me. I understand it’s a business I guess but I would have just ran ads on the app to fund it. Can’t imagine giving someone $8 dollars a month on something that I don’t even know anything about yet. I give you $8 dollars to find out the closest person to me is 112 miles away? You have to get me in the door for me to even consider buying something. I think it’s a good concept but I can’t just give you money then hope it works out in my favor afterwards..ThisnamemeansbusinessVersion: 1.7
Amazing! And they care, too…The app is awesome but the people behind the app are even more awesome! They really have genuinely good intentions. Their customer service is fabulous. I had a question, and they got back to me within a couple of hours. It was so fast. I am so excited to keep exploring. We have a large family; my top priority is providing health focused, affordable food for them. I love that I can support local while doing that. Yay!.DontForgetAnnaVersion: 2.6
The BEST app ever!!I just started using this app and am already in love with it! They are not just some big corporate app trying to squeeze every penny out of you, no, They actually care about you and your families health! Their willingness to work with lower income individuals just trying to provide real nutrition to their families has gotten them a customer for life. I will be recommending this app to everyone I know!.Jshhk>;3Version: 2.5
The Return of the JediLocalize is exactly the kind of build we need right now.
You’re taking a real swing at consolidation and making it radically easier for people to support the farmers and ranchers who actually feed us. Making discovery free -and pairing it with deals so more families can afford “real food” - is mission-aligned and smart.
Rooting for you. Keep building in public and keep shipping..Martin SatyenVersion: 1.5
Almost a good appThe concept is beautiful. Finding and supporting local businesses is important but also hard. So I thought this app would help so much. But, I’m a college student- I do not have money for their expensive subscription for wanting to support locally. I’m extremely saddened because this is another example of greed. I understand the makers have to get their money too but $60 a month is crazy for just wanting to support other companies..Lizardman6.022Version: 2.4
Best Local Farm Locator!I recently have switched to trying to source our groceries for our house from local farms and markets as it helps with sourcing good food at an affordable price and you feel more connected to the people/farmers. This apps helps tremendously as most of them don’t just simply show up on Google Maps/Apple Maps. 👍👍👍.Ryan_griffin222Version: 2.2
LocalizeThank you so much for giving me the tools to find and contact my local farms. I never knew I had so many options near me! I’ve started looking at more local and from the source due to the chemicals and other additives that are being put in our food without us knowing. I appreciate it, really!.AustinWiVersion: 2.3
Great communityI’m a student and this is a subscription service. Not bad at all for what it gives you but it’s still hard to make it work in the budget as a student. Highly recommend any students reaching out to get help and to eat healthy for your student years!!!.Aus-sauseVersion: 2.0
Very helpful app!I didn’t know an app like this existed! I was Google searching local farms near me without finding much luck. Most Google search results that came up were just my local Sprouts or Whole Foods. I love that this app shows me what each farm offers and what they don’t. Thank you :).Rachel AileenVersion: 1.8
New to the app, but it’s already a game changerI’m so happy apps like this are starting to pop up to make fighting against our centralized and ecologically harmful food systems more accessible! The support team behind the app is also fantastic and helpful. Highly recommend!!.ColjamesVersion: 2.6
Love the idea, but not worth the moneyI truly love this idea for surfacing and promoting local farms but the execution could be way better.
If most farms don’t have websites, then your app should capture the needed details and answer the most common questions - how do I pickup? Do they attend any farmers markets and where? What is their address, website link, hours of operation, ordering process… right now it’s a glorified search feature that doesn’t provide any more detail then Google Maps.
If you can’t provide an in-app ordering system, then at least list the above details.
There should also be a bare bones free version with no barrier to those in poverty who may like access to healthier foods..AbdkfhfvsVersion: 1.7
Locking out a large Demo of Low Income households due to annual paywallI understand you need to make a return on your app but it would be great to add low income options to have a membership instead of locking out those who would like to buy local and are low income. Other than that suggestion, this app is great and I like the mission.XMaliBuuVersion: 2.6

Localize - Farmers Market Negative Reviews
This app needs a ton of workI came to you through TikTok and the user experience has been nothing short of frustrating. First of all, I was immediately asked to rate you. I hadn’t even completed setup. Then when I entered my location, I’m hit with the premium upgrade. By the way on this screen, the text is overlaying other text and you can’t read it. You are asking for money at the wrong stage. I would much rather you show your value and then rally support behind your mission asking for money to support. You’d gain way more subscribers. This just feels like a huge money grab instead of a mission. The worst part of my experience was after I exited the upgrade ad and tried to click on the closest farm and the app crashed. This happened over and over again. So I tried looking at the list of the farms instead of the map flags. Very unimpressive. No website, limited info. Pretty useless at this stage. Why aren’t you marketing the fact that you’re brand new and acknowledge the potential bumps in the user experience. Make this a crowdfunded win against big ag. I was so turned off by the premium price for WHAT? A crashing app?! Reevaluate your strategy. It’s important you succeed. Now you’re gaining ground on social and you’re squandering it..TonjaEGVersion: 1.6
Not a good appI don’t know if the UX designer or the engineers or the product manager or the QA person needs to be fired (probably all of them), but this app is pretty bad. First off, it asks you to rate it during the setup process before you’ve even used it, and then again once you complete setup (again, before you’ve even used it). Same with the premium upgrade. It wants me to pay for the app during the setup process before I’ve even used it. Thank god I didn’t bother with the free 3-day trial because this app is awful. You can’t even see pins for all the farms if you’re looking at their default map zoom level, more popped up when I zoomed in. Not that it matters, because half the “farms” on the map in my area don’t even actually exist or have gone out of business (for example, a farm they have listed in Malibu went out of business TEN YEARS AGO), which I found out from clicking the website link on them. Only one “farm” has products listed in the app. It has an apple icon listed on it — which I guess I’m supposed to remember what that means from the setup process lol — but it’s an ice cream store. The descriptions on each of the farms are absolutely useless. It should say what products they sell. You would think at the absolute bare minimum there would be a way to report errors for a farm in the app. But nope, not even a general form submission. Just a “Contact Us” button that pops up a weird Gmail address. What a joke. Honestly, I’d have been better off googling farms in my area or just walking a block to my local farmers market on Tuesday. I refuse to believe they did any beta testing before releasing this garbage. I’m deleting this app, definitely the fastest I’ve deleted any app, this is total garbage..Greeneyes1496Version: 1.6
Great ConceptI got several ads for this app and decided to give it a try. I’m in Los Angeles and thought there would be plenty of options within a 50 mile radius, I was wrong. The first place I went flat out did not exist, went to the location the app shared and called the number and no answer. More than half the farms I looked at either were not at the location, no longer existed, or did not have any way to contact. Pretty disappointing after having to pay to use the app.
Most of these places charge for and only sell larger quantities of meat and dairy, as a college student looking for saving this app was not it, it seems like it primarily helps with larger or bulk ordering.
Hopefully it can be improved and I can give it a try again in the future..JoeykingcVersion: 2.6
NOT free!!Yes, you can download it only for free, but after a bunch of meandering ramp up, you reach the page where you cannot go further unless you sign up for one of the subscription models.
I don’t know what would happen if you signed up for the free seven day trial which then hit you with the annual subscription, and I don’t know whether or not the annual subscription is worth it or not especially at the lower introductory rate but what I do know is that this feels scammy, and that’s no way to start a relationship, especially when your entire business model is based on the idea that you’re trying to stop the ultra scamming corporate takeover of the food world!
So… I probably will not be going for it, even though I support this in theory. In theory, but in practice, this app is scammy..MeanGuyVersion: 1.7
Absolutely horribleThis app is HORRIBLE and FALSE ADVERTISING.
for reference I am someone who really believes in shopping local and supporting farmers! I can’t believe I paid money to have “access” to an app that promotes pretty much 100% “locations of local ranches/farmers” which are just in the city pick up locations for shipped goods. How is this local? I want find LOCAL farmers not be directed and advertised to go to a pickup location that’s been shipped across the U.S! This app clearly was built with A.I. and is not actually trying to help farmers. Seems to be zero vetting process for vendors on the app. SAD behavior from these developers because supporting local is so so important and this is just fueling the problem and confusing people who want to support local farmers and ranchers..Fake advertising. sad.Version: 2.6
Not Free - Don’t Be FooledThe creator of this app advertises it as free in his marketing ads. However the only free part is the download itself. Once you answer the questions, you get to the last page that teases the farms near you on a map but you can’t get into the app itself without signing up for their subscription model. No free resources as was advertised. They even have a page requesting to be rated 5 stars before you’ve seen or used the app! And conveniently, they ask for their 5-star review before you get to the last page and realize it’s a subscription service with no free model. Disappointed in the misleading claim when the creator is standing firmly on the importance of companies not deceiving consumers with false food claims..AllieW97Version: 1.7
Pay to use (not direct about it)I wanted to give this app a try because I’ve been seeing their social posts and they seem like they’re doing good work. Here’s the problem. There is no free option, and it’s a yearly subscription model (literally the worst kind of business model for the consumer). If they want to make it a paid model, which I think they should, offer a free or (donation based version) and add premium elements to it. Like meat and egg is free but for the other ones it’s extra) or you can see the first 3 options but to see more farms you have to pay (small fee) or if subscription, that’s fine. But to limit complete use of the app unless you pay and not advertise that, kind of shocking..Ruslan G.Version: 2.2
Great idea, poor executionI LOVE the idea of the app and, if it functioned properly, I would be a very happy consumer. Unfortunately, there seem to be loads of errors on the map - the farms listed in my area (100s) don’t even exist - the websites link to farms in other states. And what is listed isn’t properly tagged, so I can’t even filter by what I’m looking for (for example, I select grass fed beef or free range chicken, it still pulls up places that only sell tallow-based skincare).
Overall, I’m pretty bummed because I love the idea. And super disappointed that I wasted $30.
Not sure if all the 5 Star reviews are fake, or if it just doesn’t work in my (big city) area, but buyer beware.ShinerJojoVersion: 2.6
Pay to support ??It’s frustrating that an app charges $30 a year just to connect people with small, local farming businesses. The whole idea behind supporting local farms is accessibility and community—so putting basic information like how to buy their products behind a paywall feels counterintuitive. Instead of encouraging more people to shop local, it creates an unnecessary barrier. Many people already want to support farmers directly, but having to pay just to find out where and how to do that doesn’t make sense. It turns something simple and community-driven into a subscription service, which can discourage the very support these small businesses need..I am TKVersion: 2.2
Contract before ExperienceSubscription contracts with free trials are sneaky, especially front loading a year’s subscription after a short free trial. People are well aware that companies use this tactic to bank on the majority of people that forget when exactly they signed it in the first place. If you had a truly unique service, you would hook the user by letting them experience the app for a week with NO CONTRACT and then paywall block it rather than forcing a contract down their throat just because they downloaded your app thinking it was a good idea. Maybe it’s a good app, maybe not. Don’t download it though unless you like gambling $30 or are diligent about subscriptions..ZfutsolVersion: 2.4
Privacy page won’t open, paid membershipSo disappointing when apps/companies ask you for information only to get to a page where you have to pay to benefit from the service. Why not start out with that and be honest?
Tried to link to the privacy page 2 different ways to see what the policy was on any collected information and to remove myself as well as to Disapprove the selling of any of my information only to reach a blank page that doesn’t load.
Very deceptive and disappointing. Points to a one-way street and exploitation..JacQ564Version: 2.3
Low effort app- not goodThis app just uses a google map scraper to pin places on a map- no personalization and no different than using Google Maps to find local spots. The interface was weak and didn’t have any personalization. Love the concept but here in the Bay Area there are much better farming aggregators like farm fresh to you or CSAs that work much better. I deleted it within 10 minutes of purchasing because a lot of the farms were not farms you could actually purchase from as they were private or only sell to restaurants. The descriptions were pulled from their websites and were not verified or personalized for the app at all..BayArea_farmgalVersion: 2.6
Commercial and local farms?I have a lot of severe food allergies and I seem to do much better with local foods or minimally processed foods. This app doesn’t allow for browsing to get comfortable with it, and 7-days isn’t nearly enough time to vet the farms listed. During the initial set up it displayed a few farms it searched for but 2 of the 3 farms are large commercial chains not local farms. It seems this app doesn’t do background checks before adding companies. I can’t get behind an app advertising local farms when it’s local and commercial farms. It’s very deceptive marketing and they clearly have little desire to keep commercial farms off the platform..Travisbritton91Version: 2.4
Download insufficient previewDownloaded because I want to support local farms….the distance defaulted to 100miles. Sorry but you want me to pay for a subscription and drive 100 miles for eggs? I don’t think I was able to fully understand or get an idea of how the application works to even know what the benefit of the subscription would be. Are you just gatekeeping the addresses of the farms? Guess I wouldn’t know because I’m not going to sign up for something and pay for it without any idea about how it works or if it meets my needs..Poke lostVersion: 2.4
Total scamNot a single thing about their app works. None of the farms have active websites or correct phone numbers or current phone numbers. Most of the farms are shut down at least in my experience. When you try to cancel, there’s no confirmation there’s not even a confirmation when you start an account. When you try to contact them through their contact, page is simply loops and glitches tells you to fill in text that’s already filled in. I’m trying to prevent a $29 I just started the account. This is not a legit app or business..Clarence RutherfordVersion: 2.5
Pay or Waste Your TimeDoesn’t warn you that you have to pay to actually do anything. It’s infuriating to walk thru a load of setup screens before being stopped… “ehhhhh now pay!!”. Feels like a slimy, corporate, money grab to trick ppl. Otherwise, it would just be on the first screen. I gave 2 stars because I appreciate the idea and maybe I’ll eventually try it, but since I can’t even tell if it will even be useful, I doubt it. *Deleted.* 7-day trial
and then we’ll charge you is a scam and everyone knows it..DouglasK77Version: 2.2
Why must we payI absolutely love this idea and downloaded the app super excited for the farms nearby to me, I would love to shop locally but it’s hard to find them. But once I downloaded it, you can’t use it unless paying the subscription. Like at all, I can’t get past the first screening without paying anywhere from 30-60 a year. Again, I love the idea but unfortunate that it’s subscription based. If it was a few bucks sure, but 30-60 with no access to the app beforehand, I don’t wanna pay if I don’t know if it’s worth it. ☹️.Alea013–Version: 2.6
Have to give it a solo star.Really truly HATE apps that force you to lock in a contract before a truly checked out test ride can begin. In central Maine, it’s the middle of FEB, and I know there isn’t a lot of activity going on with what farms I know about. “Oh there’s a 7 day free trial.” Go dig a foxhole Karen! I go a week/week and half between grocery runs. “Why you so angry?” Just because every single other app does it (7 day trial), doesn’t mean it works for all apps. Do you go and buy everything sight unseen? Not sorry for the rant. Was really looking forward to checking out the app..Angry vetVersion: 1.7
Do BetterI’m here for a business. I get it. I run a small business. The last thing I want to do is spend money on an app, yet another subscription, to buy food to support local farmers you are telling me I have to pay 30$? Wild. Biting the hands that literally feed you is crazy work. I would rather spend more time out of my day to find these local farms and go directly to them instead of spending the $30. Literally profiting off the farmers who are already having a hard time is insane to me. Do better.Hal GibertVersion: 2.6
Not Suitable for NYCSo I really figured this was going to help find more fresh options in NYC (which is notoriously loaded with junk and mass produced foods). Well… all the deals take you to websites that will be complex for ordering - not to mention would be over a 2 hour round trip. If you can pick up. There’s no good local options to just go to in person. A random few places commonly known and certainly not worth paying a monthly/annual fee. Frankly, save the cash and just google search “ near me”.KrumsVersion: 2.6
Paid for a yearly subscription and got kicked outSo I was really excited to use this app but as of recent I’ve gotten kicked out of my account after having paid the yearly subscription and now I can’t see anything until I pay an additional premium subscription while the other subscription is still active!! What gives?? And then I tried to reach out for support via the email option and it doesn’t let me complete the request, please help!.TrustmeItellnoliesVersion: 2.2
They ALL WANT OUR MONEYHonestly- you’ve got to be kidding me with this. A yearly subscription of almost $80 (but it’s on sale right now!) to tell me where I can get local food. Trying to commodify access of farmers to consumers- I should not be surprised, but I can GD guarantee those farmers aren’t seeing one single penny of this- in fact, I’m guessing they probably have to pay to play. Just a hunch. I hope this app fails miserably. I’ll see the rest of you at the farmers markets, which for now l, are free to attend..MindingBeezwax83Version: 2.4
DishonestThis looks like such a great app, but to pay for this is so ridiculous? And for $30 a year like what? cant you just pay to have this app for $.99 or something but no this is like a full 5 minutes of work to figure out local farmer market near you. I can just look it up on the Internet. Why do I have to pay 30 to do that just tell me beforehand if I’m gonna pay? Dishonest.PiercemonVersion: 2.6
No Free Trial, Too ExpensiveI don’t understand why there isn’t even a free version or trial to test the app first. Why should I pay just to access a map where I’m already going to spend money at the markets themselves? The pricing feels very aggressive and not customer-friendly at all. Most apps at least give users a chance to try the basic features before asking for a subscription. This approach feels greedy and makes the app hard to trust..JustalexccVersion: 2.6
Deceptive practicesThis app charges an insane amount of money, which is unethical, regardless if they give it to you for free if you complain. They’re hoping you just pay for it anyways.
Also the map they use is incredibly inaccurate which the developers admit in multiple responses. They say that this app is more accurate than Google Maps and in the same breath they admit that they have not vetted these locations listed. Which is deceptive and dishonest..TrontoontoVersion: 2.3
Too expensive.8 dollars a week to find farms? I understand not all apps being free but 32 dollars a month to find local farms is insane. My partner and I are too young and too smart to add 32 dollars to our grocery bill every month. And that isn’t including gas getting to these farms and then paying them. I support what you’re doing but not enough to pay an extra 384 dollars a year for food in this economy..Broski JoeVersion: 1.7
