Not for tourists or one-day usersUnless you have the annual membership don't bother renting a bike, save yourself a bad experience and a headache arguing with tech support. Here's why: the electronic system at the kiosks constantly crashes down, which is the sitiuation at a very large portion of the stations. So, if you're using your credit card to undock the bike, you won't be able to do so unless the kiosk is working, even if there are fully functional available bikes at the station. Now, if you call tech support for assistance they will send you to another station, which most likely won't be the closest one since that will be crashed down too, so you will end up walking 12-20 blocks to find a station that will be working. What's the point of renting a bike then? Bewarned that they don't process full or partial refunds..George FickVersion: 1.4

Spotty ServiceI rent bikes and cities all across the United States. Never have I had such a problem as I do with the Boston bikes. I purchased a 24 hour pass & got my first bike and then returned it 25 minutes later. Couldn't get a bike out for the rest of the 24 hours as it didn't recognize that I had turned the bike back in.
