Love this Sudoku app. It’s my go to app when I want to play. I have two others but this one seem to work the sudoku algorithm just right. Having said all that, there’s still a few things that need fixing. Like others have noted, the game clock should not start until the game starts. Having it start while it’s making you watch an add is dishonest. And just today I’ve found I can’t mute the sound when the ad comes on. I thought it was my iPhone so I rebooted it but I still can’t mute the sound. And the ads always ignore your sound settings and blast themselves full volume. This means you can’t use it anywhere you want.

I have tried many digital sudoku games and this is the best I found. If there were a way to gray out numbers that i am working on when taping on the number in column and row so that the user can see more clearly where that number would go in the other it would enhance digital game play greatly.

MANY (maybe all) of the issues I read about in these reviews before trying the game have been corrected by settings to leave things as is or do the opposite. For example you can turn off the “Disable invalid note buttons” so no more filtering of just the valid numbers for the selected cell. Some of the settings are worded awkwardly but that’s because they retained the existing functionality, which overall is the norm. Also, during games the ads appear in their own designated space and not full screen so they don’t interrupt the game. And I absolutely LOVE that I can access older Daily Challenge games so no sweat if I miss a day. I’d like to see a Pause and a Restart button. Having the numbers in 2 rows is a bit awkward for me; I’d prefer all in one row so 5 and 6 are right next to each other. They really should offer an option to pay some small amount for no ads. Now that the issues have been resolved, users would pay a few bucks for that.

The execution of this game is good but with some glaring flaws. I like the subtle coloring scheme, the Notes function, and a lot of the optional helps. That said, the interaction with the ads is abysmal. Fine, show me ads before and after - but not during - a game. I start an Easy game to try to get the under 3 minute achievement and up pops an ad for Final Fantasy that I can't exit from for 10 seconds - and the game clock keeps ticking. What idiot thought of that? Otherwise not bad, but if you are ubercompetitive, find another Sudoku app.

The best thing about this app is that there is an immediate option to mute volume! One thing I struggle with, is understanding win versus loss. It’ll show a winning streak, but that winning streak gets messed up with the pop up ads. Sometimes I end up closing out a game instead of an ad and it counts as a loss. That part is frustrating, but the numbers are clear, the images easy to see, the background a great color. My old eyes like this game board. Thank you!

Love this version. It is very challenging and I like the daily challenge button because is moves to each different level. Would be a nice feature to have the daily challenge search for an a unused date on the calendar!!

I’m adduced to the challenge of sudoku, but this app is the only one that lets me put incorrect answers on. All the others were no challenge at all because I would put a number down in a spot that it even looked like it could belong, and if it wasn’t right it wouldn’t even let me. This one we can have the real challenge!

While I normally consider myself a "solitaire man", at my wife's recommendation, I downloaded your wonderful Sudoku application this evening, and gosh am I impressed! Thank you for all that you do, and I will be sure to look for more of your fine products in the future! Eben Denton

Just started playing first easy puzzle was great highlights and numbers available for each box was nice at a glance, I’ll write more after I get to next levels. Easy puzzle spot on for beginners!

I have had this game for a while -really like it but in past week have had much, much trouble getting into app or re-upping a new game - right now I can’t get in to it at all without resetting my entire phone - what is going on!

It allows you to fill with pencil marks if you wish to save time. I have been looking for one that would have that setting, Thanks!

I enjoy playing the game but when the ads come up the little x in the corner is difficult to close. The timer is running on your game while the ad is up so if you are trying to beat your time it will depend on how long the ad runs.

Small complaint, but why does the timer start and then the player is required to watch an ad. I’ve started games at :43 seconds on the timer due to the ad.

Played three games. Then a suggestion to upgrade to 2025 version. Then in app purchase situation popped up. Could not back out to old for free. Solution, deleted app.

I love that this game is free & it's actually fun even though it's challenging & I didn't even know how to play it when I got it but was told it was fun like solitaire so I tried it & now I play it instead of solitaire ^_^ thanks for the free, fun & challenging game

There is no fluff in the game. All I want to do is play a game. Don’t give me a bunch of side comps or time limit or anything like that. I love it that it’s a horizontal layout. This is my go-to game.

Why put the delete ad x on top of the battery icon? I’m stuck

Great for a presleep distraction that settles me for a good sleep! I don’t like the occasional bug that crashes and freezes the game completely for no apparent reason and requires a total reinstall with a loss of all data.

Sudoku is a nice relaxing game when you are tired or stressed and need to take a break from tv, work, social media, or any other distractions! Its very helpful for me!

I really like the way it goes grey when I enter the last of the numbers. Helps me keep track of where I am in the game.

I was playing this game it was so fun I played and played boom 15 minutes then 30 minutes best time killer ever

I’ve tried a few apps for sodoku but this one is probably the best. I haven’t had any ads, my phone doesn’t get hot or die quickly while playing it, and you can just play the game any time without pay walls or anything. I’m not a big fan of the colour choices, but I can live with it.

Too many ads now and hidden points to get out of them.

After trying nearly all of the free sudoku apps, I have rested on this one as my favorite for actual game play. The puzzles are well-designed, and even the hard and expert puzzles are actually solve-able without notes or hints if you’re good enough. That said, it is not without its faults. I don’t mind ads, but they are a little excessive, (and it is a bit jarring to see somewhat threatening NRA ads constantly). And frustrating that the clock starts on your game while you are still in the ad. The timer works fine on individual games, but the app does not accurately compile data for you to see if you are beating your own times. The “winner” screen is visually and functionally buggy and pretty useless. Despite all of this, I still play it daily for the good games. Though I imagine there will be a day when one too many NRA ads send me over the edge and I delete it forever and go buy a sudoku book.

I don’t mind seeing an ad when I open the game, but recently, the Xit button in the ad is directly below some small, white, and nearly translucent printing on my iPhone. The print has icons for signal strength and such. Because the X button is partially hidden, I can’t exit the ad. The only way out is to quit the app. It doesn’t have to move much, but it has to move.

The placement of the ads between the game board & the numbers is just atrocious. They flash & spin & are horrendously distracting. In addition, when making notes, only the possible numbers for that square display & it feels like cheating. There's no way to access settings as shown in here. Just 3 little marks that don't do anything instead of the buttons for settings & mute. After 2 games, I can't stand it anymore - I'm deleting it.

DELETED! This is another app I’ve had forever that I enjoyed but now it’s absolutely destroyed by obnoxious ads. It always had ads, but now they pop up so often and blast sound at me I can’t put up with it anymore. Don’t know how the app game works but I’d guess there are people out there buying out popular free apps from the developers and then driving the app into the ground with ads.

Too many commercials. And the commercials have sound which means I can’t play the game in certain places. I hate that about the game!!! Sometimes the same commercial repeats twice and they go on and on for 30 seconds each.

Notes automatically gives you all the possible numbers. It would be better if you could enter just the numbers that are possible. It’s a bit irritating to be told all the possibilities...

I like this game, but is it really necessary to have so many advertisements. You’re now getting two and they run around 30 seconds. It’s ridiculous.

I’ve enjoyed this for several years but the most recent update triggers ads whenever “hints” is selected. Since I normally do “hard” puzzles, I use “hints” frequently. Having to deal with an ad every time I trashes chain of thought. I will delete the app and try something else

Immediately noticed that the notes option blanks out all the numbers that don’t fit in a square, which is way too easy to take advantage of. Note taking is imperative for some puzzles, and being able to find patterns is part of being a good puzzle solver. If you like being spoon fed solutions, this one’s for you.

The app works fine. My only complaint being it’s too easy. I do only the “expert” level and finish most puzzles between 10 and 15 minutes. Needs to be a bit more challenging.

Love Soduko, this version is also for the ad Lover. Win a game, get an ad. Select a new game, get an ad. Change from daily to challenge, get an ad. When there are ad free versions of sudoko out there there is no reason to load this one!

I don’t like that it gives the answers when I want to use the notes. Other than that, I enjoy playing.

It’s annoying how it erases my win streak randomly. I get very frustrated I win every game but it starts the counter over. Can this be fixed?

App has ads which is ok, but lately the ad locks up the app and there is no way to X out of it. Used to be able to X out after 30 seconds but now the ads look up the app.

I don’t mind ad-supported apps. This app takes that to new levels. Watching a 30-Second ad to play a single game of sudoku is excessive. It also hijacks your audio whether or not sound is enabled.

I’ve been addicted to this game. Recent changes made it so the ads come on blasting so I can no longer play late at night or discreetly. Therefore, I am deleting it

Do you know what sudoku, solitaire, and a whole litany of what should be seemingly relaxing single person games don’t need? Loud and unexpected jarring sounds that inexplicably ignore the media volume on the phone! Tried to play this game quietly and startled everyone in the room, immediately deleted.

Hate it, can’t get to close the ads have to get out of the game cause the x is way up there and the 30 sec of ad is in my solving time.

Funny the ads keep appearing but I have had to reset it too many times . So I have deleted it , let me know if it ever gets fixed

Loved the game on my older phone but with a new phone cannot play because the x to close ads is on top of the time. Clicking the fast forward and x buttons are in the notch area.

The game itself is fine (thank you), however, the App seems to use resources beyond user-set privileges. For example, although the data and background refresh were off for the app, it could still load advertising contents. As others have already mentioned, this App is pushed on you as a condition for other things.

The app won’t allow you to play your music or podcasts while it’s playing so that’s a solid no dice for me.

The game is fine but I downloaded it to get a perk in another game that I never received... feeling duped and for that (being mislead to download it) I’m only giving it one star. If you have to lie and cheat to get people to download your game then it’s really not doing that well now is it. 🙄

I was just trying to get coins in another game, and now I wasted my time. Other than that, the game isn’t even fun because it’s to easy and an add pops up every five seconds. Over all, I suggest that you don’t download this game whether it’s for sudoku or a prize.

This app cuts off your music if you want to use it while listening to music, even when you turn the in app music off :/

Game does what it needs to do, however because it is timed, there is that added challenge to complete the puzzle as fast as possible. Unfortunately the developers have not accounted for unskippable 30 second ads that play in between games, and as a result, the clock already has 30 seconds on it by the time I get started.

I don’t mind ads, but the game starts then the ad and so by the time you’re able to start solving the puzzle it’s 30 seconds on the clock. Deleted app.

Not only is there a banner ad in the middle of the game screen, there is a pop up full page ad every time I start a new game with loud audio. Users can mute the audio but they have to watch 5 or more seconds of the ad before the game begins. Also the “best time” page never updates and the times are out of alignment.
