To improve the accuracy, make sure that you maintain a clear view of the horizon in several directions. GPS accuracy varies depending on the number of visible GPS satellites. Locating all visible satellites can take several minutes, with accuracy gradually increasing over time.

Simple Altimeter... And MoreThis app is great. I’m a long-haul truck driver and its simple interface is not distracting and tells me just what I want to know - the altitude. The free version is great - the only real drawback is I can’t choose the interface color. And that it’ll put me on the map too, is a great option. Uses GPSMy cousin had an old analog barometer based altimeter that you had to guess about the accuracy because of the variances of the local air pressure. When the weather was rainy the altimeter would read low. When the sun was shining, the altimeter would read high! That is my problem no longer. Now the altimeter judges my altitude based on GPS. How I love my altimeter!The gps I use has a mind of its own like many electronics these days. Only once in a blue moon does it tell me my altitude. My first GPS a addition on my laptop told me that altitude in big bold numbers. But this app works great for me. I am a trucker and love to know what the altitude is when I go to sleep. Maps Option Traps YouIf you select the maps option, there is no way to get out of the maps option in order to go back to the main page of the app. You must close the app in order to get back to the actual Altimeter page. This is very annoying and not what I expect from a professionally made app..Version: 3.8.0
