MealPrepPro Planner & Recipes App Comments & Reviews

MealPrepPro Planner & Recipes Positive Reviews

It’s easy and the food is goodI suffer from severe depression and if something is too hard, I can’t do it. Cooking is one of those things - eating healthy is almost impossible for me. Finding easy recipes, figuring calorie intake, and compiling a shopping list is overly daunting. Then you add another layer of finding food that you would actually eat on top of having easy to find ingredients and healthy eating becomes overwhelming. Then add that you don’t want to cook everyday vs making a ton of food for the week that you get tired of after day 3 and healthy eating is out of reach. This app takes away all of that work. It calculates your caloric intake, compiles a weekly list of recipes (you can tell the app how many times a week you want to cook), you can arrange or swap out recipes based on your schedule or ingredients, and it compiles a shopping list. You can filter out food dislikes and food allergies. The recipes are easy and they allow me to break them down into realistic chunks. They are delicious. I know some people are upset about the fees/subscriptions. However, it’s worth the price for new recipes and functionality. It’s worth the price for the time savings. This is probably one of the best apps that I have ever used. Thank you. I just wish I knew about it 70lbs ago. My only suggestion is linking this with food tracking apps - my fitness pal, noom, etc. if you want to take this next level - partner with food box delivery services. (But, don’t take the app away if you go that route - I can’t get food delivery boxes.) Thanks again..Version: 3.38

This app changed my meal planning for my family of 6!!Seriously for years I’ve been thinking - there should be a service where you tell someone your macros and they give you meal ideas! I wish I had found this sooner because my meal prep has been overwhelming to say the least so it usually only lasts 3 weeks and then I’m overwhelmed. I don’t enjoy thinking of new recipes that are healthy and that my family will eat, I don’t enjoy making grocery lists, and I definitely don’t enjoy figuring out weights based off of what my macros should be. This app does it all for you! They’ve honestly thought of everything. I can even add my own personal recipe macros since I like to eat the same breakfast and snack everyday. That way I’m not having to leave the app to subtract what meals I’m getting from MealPlanPro from my daily overall macro count. Just add them in! They have delicious and clean recipe ideas and my family has enjoyed all of them! Now I just figure out my portions and add my kids and hubby so I can have dinners for several nights in a row and still can measure out my specific portion. It’s sooo great! It has immensely simplified my life. If I had to give one complaint it would be that hopefully one day it’ll give you the option to swap out an ingredient but I know that probably makes it way more complicated. Thank you for an awesome app! If you’re debating, don’t! Just get it!.Version: 3.54

They have thought of EVERYTHING to help a person be successful at meal planning!!To start: The app creates a menu for you & if you don’t like what it chooses, you can swap out individual meals for something different; it offers suggestions to swap out with. You can also add your own recipes as well. It also has a shopping list. All you do is push a button on the recipe you’ve chosen & it adds the ingredients to the shopping list. You can cross off items you don’t need & cross things off your list while you shop. All the ingredients on the list are listed in the sections you find them in the store. ie: produce, frozen, spices, etc. The recipes only take 10 to 15mins to make, & the ones I chose, were sooooo delicious that I’m completely sold on this app!! I’m a horrible binge eater & I’m horrible about planning meals & snacks on my own. I have a feeling this is my key to weight loss success! Had to share this find for anyone else interested in meal prep & needs help with their portion control. The only downside to this app, for me, is that it measures by ounces instead of teaspoons, tablespoons, & cups, so I have to look up the conversions every time bc I don’t want to weigh things. So far, that is the only thing I don’t like about the app... They’ve really thought of everything - they even have step by step instructions to scroll through as you make the recipe... Sorry such a long post, but I’m blown away by this app!! 😊.Version: 1.13.0

Still My #1 Meal Prep App (With One Frustration)My biggest struggle in the gym was my nutrition. As someone with ADHD, I struggle with meal planning that meets my fitness goals. MealPrepPro has made that so much easier. I’ve been able to meet my fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle goals with high‑protein meals, no red meat or pork, and weekly 30‑second check‑ins that adjust my plan to my preferences. With one tap I get a full week of meals planned, a grocery list automatically created, and recipes that actually taste good. The team is also great about adding new dishes and keeping the app updated. The one thing keeping this from being a 5‑star app for me right now is the Custom Macros feature. I follow a structured training plan with specific macro targets (around 180–195 g protein, 375–425 g carbs, and 83–100 g fats on training days), but the app won’t let me enter those exact numbers. When I try to match my coach’s plan, I get an “invalid macro values” error saying my protein and carbs are out of range. The app also seems to force certain macro ranges at a given calorie goal, which makes it hard to align MealPrepPro with my actual training nutrition. If Custom Macros allowed truly free‑form macro targets within a chosen calorie range, this would be an easy 5‑star app for me..Version: 3.139

Thorough Tracking, but Limited CustomizationI do like this app and appreciate it for its user interface and thorough meal planning help. Being able to see your individual day or your whole week laid out, tracking how many calories and macros you are getting with each meal instead of the day as a whole (and tracking water intake! Which I think is a neat addition), are some of the features that stand out to me. The recipes also seem generally good, both in flavor and ease of preparation. However, there are a few tweaks that would make this app worth it to me. The first and biggest one is allowing *temporary* food additions to your day. If you want to add a quick snack that you had during the day, you have to create it as a permanent “recipe” in the app. I don’t want “snickers bar” as a RECIPE within the app because I had one as a treat three weeks ago. My second suggestion is being able to add an ingredient list to your manually added recipes, allowing them to generate a shopping list as well. The app’s recipes will generate a shopping list but I have to make my own separate list if I want to cook my own recipes? Silly. Lastly, the app’s recipes are completely unchangeable. For eg, if you sub full fat cream cheese for low fat cream cheese because it’s what you had in the fridge, you cannot tell the app that and have it adjust your calories and macros accordingly. As it is now, I won’t be rolling my free trial into an actual subscription because of these issues..Version: 3.88

Great app, suggestionsI love using this app as I work 12-13 hour shifts at work and I just don’t have time or energy to be cooking after work. Or spend all my free time after work cooking. It helps me eat better as well. One issue I have is that it doesn’t give exact portion sizes. It would be nice to have the portion weights that are recommended at the end. Like others have said as well, I wish there was a swap for sides or grains/veggies. One was an avo toast, well I substitute sometimes for a rice cake. The recipes are a bit bland, and I do tweak them with seasonings. I consider them a good base recipe, however some things are hard to kind of predict taste until fully cooked and are better to season while cooking (baking). Another thing, I think the weekly prep is kind of flawed. I picked 4 days in a row because I work those 4 days, however the recipe cuts off at 2 because it hits the weekend. So Sunday and Monday weren’t accounted for in my recipe. I just realized this after prepping last night that I may have used only a 2 day recipe and portioned for 4 days. However, my portions seemed pretty reasonable, so now I’m a bit confused. Could have sworn I used this before and it didn’t cut off at Saturday and start a new prep on Sunday. Maybe I haven’t prepped on a weekend yet. Either way, I don’t have a set schedule, and I mostly prep before my work days..Version: 3.56

Wow!!!About 3 months ago, I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. I was pretty active ( a brown belt in Martial Arts and an avid cyclist), so the news hit me like a freight train. With all the exercise and “somewhat” watching what I ate, the reality was, I could and should be doing more. Thankfully, my A1C was borderline, so the diagnoses came with periodic blood sugar checks and a nutritionist instead of medication(s). That’s when I found this app. I had gone through a couple of others, but none of them were helpful and a ton of them provided me with information overload, and eventually, deletion of the app. But this app is sooooo on point. I have a clear calendar of what to eat and when, a platform that allows me to click one button to chow I have eaten the meal and stats that are meaningful and easy to review. Most importantly, the food is absolutely scrumptious (I can’t tell you how many times I made spaghetti without whole grain noodles because I thought it would taste lifeless - until I just had the Turkey and Garlic Meatball recipe!!) I just wanted to give a huge kudos to you and your team for putting together a well thought out and user friendly system that will ultimately keep me on track with my fitness and health goals..Version: 2.51

I LOVE this app! Keep the vegan recipes coming!I have never reviewed an app, but had to talk about this one. I have been a vegetarian for 15 years and dabbled in veganism countless times. I have always considered myself fairly healthy; I would meal prep with fresh ingredients each week, avoid high calorie drinks and processed foods, and rarely eat out. As I’ve gotten older, my metabolism has definitely evolved and my weight has crept up ever so slightly. 6 months ago I decided to join Orangetheory Fitness and start exercising more in the hopes of getting healthier and dropping 15 lbs. I was instantly hooked. On a good week, I go daily; on a bad week, I go four times. After 5 months of religious exercise, my body definitely changed. I was stronger, and had more endurance but I was not seeing my weight go down. I realized that while my diet was healthy, I was missing the mark somehow, so I started looking into macro counting. I had heard of it before but the thought of managing my finicky vegetarian/vegan diet on top of macros seemed overwhelming. While researching, I found MealPrepPro and decided to give it a try exactly four weeks ago today. In that time, I have FINALLY seen weight changes. My starting weight was 142.9 lbs and as of this morning, I am down to 135.4 lbs. 7.5 lbs in four weeks while eating good food and not going hungry? Yes, please. It has been an awesome experience and I recommend it to everyone, probably to an obnoxious degree. But I don’t even care; the recipes are delicious and quick, the grocery lists are invaluable and the ability to switch out recipes incredibly simple. Seriously, it’s foolproof and if you’re reading this, you’re just stalling. Download the app, start planning your favorite meals and get cooking already..Version: 2.4.1

Great food, but Portions are way too big!I will first preface with the fact that I don’t use this app regularly, but there are some weeks I use this app to prep the entire week for. I love the shopping list and being able to mark off ingredients you have bought and prepared. The biggest problem I face with this app is the portions. Based on my weight and height the app suggests I eat up to 1800 calories which isn’t unreasonable although a little high based on my low exercise. With this I would expect the portions to be relatively small but for even the 3 day meals I make enough that at a glance I feel like I could eat for a whole week. I notice this even as I use the grocery shop list because I buy much more food than I would on my own. I would rate at five stars because the app is very nice and easy to use and the recipes are much better than I would make on my own, but as it is the portions upset the balance of everything else in the app. If I physically can’t finish all the food I prep for the given days I am supposed to eat, then I have to wait longer before I prep my next batch of food. I also spend longer eating the same food! Which I don’t mind, but I know others definitely would. I feel as though even my settings are for weight loss, I will be gaining weight at the rate this app expects me to eat!.Version: 2.33

Life changingSo this is my first time ever writing a review but this app deserves it. I have struggled with anorexia in the past and had to stop using MyFitnessPal because of it. But I still wanted a way to track my macros and eat healthy foods without it controlling my life. This app does it. I love how you can swap meals out (over time you really start to find your favorite recipes) and you can trust that each meal is balanced and hits all your macros. The shopping list makes things super easy and most of the recipes I’ve had turned out amazing with very little prep work. There are a couple minors things that need to be fixed. I have had some recipes that leave out one ingredient from the list and you don’t notice it until you’re in cooking mode and it tells you to add an ingredient that wasn’t listed! There are a couple other minor bugs that pop up here and there but honestly the pros outweigh the cons and this app still deserves 5 stars. I have one suggestion though, Kevin Curry if you are reading this, could you add in a search bar or a way to favorite certain recipes? If you are debating about this app, do it!.Version: 2.21

Implement more instructional videos please! This app would be great if it had more instructional videos showing the process of the cooking. It’s kinda hard for me to follow the written steps, it gets confusing at some points and the wording trips me up. If the app is going to have a “cooking mode” and the cooking mode barely has any videos to it, I feel like it should at least be more thorough with the steps and instructions. I feel it would be easier if I’m able to follow the video as I go by, most of the recipes recommended to me for my diet don’t even have a instructional video for me to follow and it’s pretty frustrating. Its no use in me searching the name of the recipe online to see if I can get any videos on it because they use different ingredients than what the app is telling you to use. I have one question though, for the recipes that are “meal prep.” In the ingredients section do they show the ingredients to make enough for one serving? So if you’re meal prepping the “5-ingredient Salmon Teriyaki” and it says meal prep for 4 days this week, the 2.3 Ib of salmon fillet would only reflect for one serving for that one day? So you’d have to make it again 3 times for the rest of the days and at the start of each time you making it you use the same 2.3 Ib of salmon right?.Version: 2.7

Most delicious meal preps anywhere!I don’t usually leave reviews for apps, but this app is honestly spectacular and deserving of recognition. My son is gone from university due to the pandemic and I’ve been helping him out with his meal preps. Generally any recipe site is kind of hit or miss, some recipes are good and some not so much. This app, however, is stellar! Not only are the meals quite simple to make, but they taste absolutely delicious! I’ve made nine or ten now, all different kinds and categories, and every single one has been outstanding. I’ve just finished the beef stroganoff one and I’m actually sending my husband back to the store for more steak so I can make the same recipe for us. Holy crap it’s good. I mean like incredibly good. Better than any other stroganoff recipe I’ve ever made good. And that has been the case across all the recipes I’ve made using this app. If anyone is sitting on the fence about buying this app, then get off the fence and buy it. There’s no way you’ll be disappointed. Macros done, taste delivered - perfect..Version: 2.54

Love the meal planning hate the app featuresI love the meal planning but I really need this app to update some features. For example, I choose to create my own recipe, well macros, can’t add recipes and on the days I select the meal I created, I can’t swap it again. This doesn’t allow flexibility even though I may need it some days. The developers should also consider allowing a connection to other health apps such MyFitnessPal for recipes and to double check nutrition on meals. Not all ingredients from the app are created equally so it would be nice to double check and be able make substitutions to the meals. For example, I hate brown rice but love cauliflower rice, would love to substitute it, save my carbs for a snack. Also the shopping list misses items sometimes or it doesn’t calculate what I need correctly. Lastly, the how to portion is wayyyy off sometimes. I was told to check cook 1 lb 3 oz of quinoa raw, once cooked it told me to split for myself and spouse, I still had 1 1/2 cups left after dividing. Same thing happened to me when cooking brown rice. Always end up wasting food or me not getting enough. Anyway, love having a plan to get me through the week but I want more from the app..Version: 2.80

Where Has this App Been All my Life!!!I don't leave reviews... I rate and keep it moving. However this App!! 🤯🤯🤯 If you think it might not work I'm here to say it does! Definitely the best meal planning app in the App Store. Many options for the type of food eater you are, you can even mix and match so if you want to do a Flexible plan but one day you might be feeling a lil Vegatarian or Pow Car you can swap out that food for another recipe and not disrupt your rest of the weeks meal plan. The layout is seemless and it even syncs with my food journal app... How?!? I have no idea but I was sold ld!! Never have a immediately paid for a year subscription on an app. There needs to be more talk about how good it is! Only suggestion I have is to add where the recipe given the serving size can be adjust down for how your cooking for the next 2 days. I'm solo so I just need to cook for 2 to 3 servings (you can even choose how often you want to cook during the week) just for me. I just adjust it my self but just a suggestion. Thanks!!.Version: 3.44

Worth every penny! This app is a game changer for me mentally. When I meal prep I am always freaking out about portioning, I hate counting calories so this app, once it plans my meals according to my requirements… then does all the math for me and tells me how much of the meal to give to myself and how much for my husband who needs significantly more than I do. I love how I can use it to once a month meal prep Or cook every day, the variety is incredible and the recipes are awesome. You can Not go wrong with this app. Once you get the hang of its inner workings you’ll be hard pressed to find a better planning app for the money. Most impressive to me is the smart shopping list unlike other planners it might give you fat free and whole milk as per the recipes but you won’t get four entries of “pork” with different brands on your shopping list. I hated wasting so much time on duplicates/triplicates in my lists. The devs have done just the most stunning job here. Clearly they truly care and understand the meal prep ins and outs..Version: 3.89

My favorite app EVER!!!The design and thoughtfulness that went into this app is breathtaking. Seriously. There is no other app that I have used in any genre that’s better designed or well thought out. So, enough gushing. Here are some specific takeaways. First, the recipes are dead simple, no significant cooking experience is required. Second, everything tastes really good. I had some major concerns because some of the recipes seemed a little too “healthy,” but the food is delicious. Third, this accommodates picky eaters and those with allergies/sensitivities extremely well. Fourth, this integrates with your lifestyle very well. The app easily allows for cooking your own favorites or eating out. Fifth, if you do the pantry staples plan, you will find the recipes very economical. The other plans were not unreasonable, but were not cost saving for me. With the pantry staples plan, I am spending significantly less on groceries. Now I am eating healthier, saving money, and I’m not feeling like all my free time is spent cooking and cleaning. Thanks for this app!!!.Version: 2.66

Love it!!Coming from a big family I always struggled on how to portion and shop for one, this app is a life saver. It does all the hard work for me and the recipes are delicious! Things I never would've discovered or cooked for myself. I don't own a scale, and track my weight loss by measurements, and I've found that I've lost an inch in my waist and 3" in my hip (1 WEEK!!! ) AMAZING! my partner has a different with schedule than me, so I absolutely love the feature that allows you to select which meals your partner will be eating. I've only had a few mishaps with the recipes (zucchini cakes, I'm looking at you. It wasn't portioned right between the dry ingredients and the liquids). However, still delicious. I've recommendation I would give to the developers is to adjust the shopping list to show how the ingredients are used (such as chopped almonds instead of just almonds, or specifying a variety of colors of bell peppers, as suggested in the recipe, instead of just "bell pepper"). Other than that, I can't give this app enough stars or thanks!.Version: 1.9

Love it! And a suggestionTLDR: MealPrepPro has been an absolute blessing in my life. It saves time, money and works great. Plus it gets updates frequently. Wish I could swap quinoa. Between balancing work, family and everything else, it’s easy to come up on the minute when it’s time to eat. You reach for the fridge and see all the great and healthy stuff you bought. And then, if you’re like me, you think “I have no idea what to make with all this stuff.” So then you look for a recipe and you’re missing an ingredient here and there and now it’s getting later and everyone is hungry. So you make something that probably has a shelf-life of a few years or is frozen and slowly your vegetables make their way to the garbage…or compost hopefully…but let’s be honest. If this is you, it’s the garbage. Best of intentions. Worst of eating. And now you’re fat. That’s where MealPrepPro has been amazing! It has taken out the “what are we going to eat” and solves for the missing an ingredient or two because the shopping list it creates includes exactly what you need. And what’s really cool is the ability to enter *some* dislikes, like avocado. Love avocado. It doesn’t love me. My family and I feel great when we eat the recipes because they are healthy and they taste good! Weight is…well I’m still fat cause I’ve only been using this for 2 months but I’m losing weight every week! And stress levels are down and time back is up. I have tried a few different meal planning services and I have found none better, and this one keeps getting updated and better and better. BUT I do have one request that would make it even better for me…keep expanding the dislikes and/or offer more substitutions. For example, a ton of recipes include quinoa. Which is great for most people because it’s super healthy and filling. But just like avocado, quinoa doesn’t like me. I know, that’s lame. I wish Cheetos didn’t like me. But no, it’s avocado and quinoa. Ugh. I would love the option to choose something else similar in nutrition without changing to completely different recipes or hoping brown rice again works with it..Version: 2.71

Review I wish I had readI tried to go through reviews to see if it was worth the subscription price and nobody seemed to touch too much on it. If you don’t get the subscription it’s very hard to customize a week worth of food planning. It’s about $9 a month. I have mine set to “pantry staples” which is supposed to be the most cost effective planning option. For two people, 4 meals a day (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a snack) 7 days a week, it’s costing me about $75-$120 a week in groceries at Walmart. Just to give you an idea incase budget has any sway in your choice for this app. A lot of the recipes have been very bland so far, even with extra seasoning added, some are okay and all are edible, just not the most tasty things I’ve had. I haven’t had anything I hate just yet and nothing that taste downright bad, just bland. I’m sticking with the app right now because even with the down sides, it’s helped make grocery shopping easier and takes all of the guest work out of figuring out what we want to eat for dinner every day..Version: 2.105

Great app and great results.I started my healthy nutrition journey by giving up soda when I was a teen. By the time I was in college I gave up sweets during the week and started to realize that what one consumes directly affects their life. In 2007, I discovered Sear’s zone and CrossFit. That worked for a while, but counting blocks became difficult. Then paleo soon followed and that just became too restricted. Recently, after reading Mark Sisson’s Keto Reset Book I was left with a lot of hope, but realized it would be difficult to take the information and apply to something like forming a shopping list and menu for the week. I’m 36, 6’1” and was 212 pounds. This app has helped me and my wife lose approximately 15 pounds each in 4 weeks. Kevin and his team have been able to help us bridge theory with application and the results fantastic. I’ve also bought urine test strips and they have shown that we are in Ketosis. I’m giving 4 stars only because there is still room for improvement. For example, menu can continue to expand, there are typos occasionally (I’m sure there are a few in this review!), there is still the occasional “use a pinch” direction and it would help to be clearer with amounts. If you are concerned about cost, the yearly subscription is relative to what you would pay for a good book, expect this one helps you lose weight. Thank you and keep up the good work..Version: 2.1.1

Best app EVER!I have never written a review for any app and hadn’t planned on doing it ever. BUT, this app is worth my time. I have been using it for 5 months and I absolutely love it. I enjoy cooking but was always awful at creating meal plans or changing it up. This app allows me to pick out new things to try with ease. I have also learned new combinations of things that I would never have thought of before (such as the turkey hummus wrap - amazing!). I have even gotten my mother in law using the app because she stayed with me for 9 days and ate what I made (all items from the app). My only qualm with the app is you cannot add in other things you may have consumed that day - i.e. coffee! I have coffee with half and half and a teaspoon of sugar every morning. I wish I could add it on the app so I could truly see what I am consuming. Same thing for a pure protein shake. Overall, amazing app!.Version: 3.82

Try before you use any other subscription meal service. As an athlete, you try to optimize your performance through every means possible (i.e. training, sleep, and fuel). Well informed athletes realize that proper nutrition is the primary benefactor in aiding one’s performance; some would even suggest its more important than sleep and training combined. MealPrepPro is a great way for athletes, who either know a lot or very little about dietetics, to ensure they are fueling the body properly. I looked a Sun Basket, Blue Kitchen, Fresh Deliveries, and even even he Trifecta Meal Prep service(s) - all because I needed personal help in figuring out how to diversity my diet in a appropriate manner. With the time to actually cook my food, I chose MealPrepPro via FitMenCook because I knew I would enjoy the food while diversifying the flavors. Plain and simple, try it out for a month and follow it to the “T,” it will get you in the right track. -Tactical Athlete.Version: 2.6

Absolutely phenomenal! This is the first app I have ever rated and reviewed. That being said, I started out with an iPhone 4 many moons ago and am now up to the 10. This app is hands down the best I have ever used. I’ve tried several of these type of apps for meal prep or even just inspiration or ideas. None really bad, just didn’t fit my lifestyle etc. Kevin has this one nailed down. I love love love it and yes, I did my 7 day trial and decided this would be perfect for me. You can’t beat it. Everything is normal food made delicious and no weird stuff. If you have dietary restrictions, he has it all set up. If you’re unsure, give the 7 day trial a shot. I’m about as cynical as they come and I’m delighted to open this on Sunday morning with my coffee and plan for the week. A huge THANK YOU for taking the time to do this. It’s been so helpful and the food is delicious! Keep the good stuff coming!.Version: 2.7

Needs workI’ve been using the app for almost 2 weeks and I like it for the most part but it does need work. I don’t know if it’s just my phone but when I swap out recipes it doesn’t update to my grocery list so that makes the grocery shopping difficult. Also some of the items are very hard to find like “arrowroot starch” for example. I’m from a small town so that was impossible to find. The prep times are also far from accurate. Me and my husbands goals are to GAIN so it DOES NOT take “5 min” to prep 1 meal for 4 days where you have to trim fat off of 8 lbs of chicken, chop 17 bell peppers, cut 2 lbs of green beans down the middle and when the recipe is so big it doesn’t fit in the oven so you have to make it in lots of big batches so it takes forever. Also one last thing, like is said maybe it’s my phone but there is no decimal point on the number pad. When I’m trying to portion out our meals I have to go to my notes, write out the number, copy and paste it to the number pad..Version: 2.4

Not a lot of choices, portions too bigI am on this app to gain muscle, and i honestly feel like the portions are ridiculous. I did find it weird that every single recipe had around the same amount of calories and protein. I found it especially weird when i saw that scrambled eggs and bread had almost 700 calories, thats when i realized i would have to stuff my face with 3 slices of bread with 4 scrambled eggs. Why is the protein intake so high??? i only weight 120lbs and its recommending me to eat 150 grams of protein, which is the lowest option on the app. Another thing, the food choices. I was on the flexible meal plan and It is either american asian food, or caucasian food (idk what to call that). I am hispanic and i would love to see more culturally diverse foods. Hispanic doesn’t automatically mean mexican tho. I did like that there were tostones but that was the only food i was familiar with. Looking at the choices feels overwhelming and underwhelming at the same time..Version: 2.104

THE BESTHands down the best app I’ve ever used for meal prepping. I’ve struggled for years to get my eating right and have always been overwhelmed with counting calories, figuring out my macros and in turn figuring out what to eat to meet my goals. (And eat delicious food so that I will actually stick to the diet!) this app has made my life SO MUCH EASIER!!! I can’t thank the creator enough! The food is delicious and knowing that I’m hitting my calories keeps me motivated to keep going. I’ve been working with a personal trainer as well and I can see that my results have started to show once I started eating right (I spent months with a PT without a good diet and wasn’t losing the weight although I was seeing some results naturally). If you’re looking for something that will take the guess work out of meal prepping, this is the best app..Version: 2.89

LOVE the new Mediterranean dietI got MealPre Pro a couple of years back mainly to help coordinate meal prepping. The app is simple, easy to use. Check. Has a ton of great recipes. Check. Has a nicely organized shopping list with easy check off and ability to add items. Check. Easy to scale recipes up or down. Check. Ability to add a partner. Check. I ended up shying away after a little while because life and, although I try to be healthy, I’m not a protein powder kinda person. I came back after noticing the new Mediterranean meal plan. And I’m seriously loving the new plan. No protein powder! Just simple, healthy meals with quality ingredients. I have two small hopes for future updates: 1. Search/sort/filter the freezable tag. I like the freezable tag on the meals and would love to be able to sort by that when searching/swapping recipes same as prep time. 2. Add ingredients to personal recipes. I think this is a larger ask, but I would love to be able to add the ingredients for a personal recipe that could then be pulled into the grocery list. 2 1/2. Personal recipe scaling - I wouldn’t mind a slightly tedious recipe entry if it would also allow for ingredient amounts that would scale up/down. LOVE THE APP!.Version: 2.22.1

Please create partner sharing!I just started using this app with my fiancé to get our eating on track for our goals. I like that it selects recipes and that you can swap what you don’t like, and it keeps track of what you’ve consumed. But there’s a couple major kinks to this: 1- It doesn’t provide portion sizes for the two people in a functional way. Stating my partner eats 65% while I eat 35% requires a lot of extra work to determine how many ounces or servings I should be consuming. 2- We can’t both have our tracked plans on the same account and be synced across two devices with the same info. Even being logged into the same account on two devices doesn’t provide the exact same meals etc without significant manual swapping. We both want to be on track and eat the same things (but different portions) and know we are consuming what we need to to meet our goals. Partner sharing or partner syncing should definitely be in the set of fixes!.Version: 2.1

Awesome App!Started using this app in conjunction with MyFitness and FitBod (to track workouts). I LOVE this app and I’ve lost 25# so far. I started with the keto diet but found it too challenging for me. It was easy to change over to the Mediterranean diet in the app and it’s been great! I spend less on groceries with the targeted shopping list and I don’t waste food by buying oddball ingredients. Saves me money, makes cooking fun and losing weight so much easier. My hubby even likes to food. And now with the macros, my friends on specific diets can use it too. Great app! One addition I would love though is to add my recipes with ingredients. I have to option to add the nutrients for now but would love to be able to all the whole recipe. Highly recommend this app to anyone trying to manage their diet..Version: 3.71

Love it! But limited customization for your own recipesI love the integrated shopping list aspect when you pick meals. It saves me so much time by adding all the ingredients cumulatively across all the different meals for the week. The only reason I have it 4 stars is because there’s limited customization for your own recipes you input in. It’s great that we can put in the macros but I would at least like to be able to put in what ingredients are in my recipes so that it auto generates in my shopping list as well. For now, I have to write out a separate shopping list when I want to cook my own recipes. It would also be great if you could add the ability to delete your recipes if you add one on accident - I’ve done that a couple of times 😅 If these features gets added, it would be perfect for all my needs!!.Version: 3.35

Nice app but I got some suggestionsIn the shopping list, let the user convert between exact weight and general approximation. For example, instead of showing “2 potatoes”, have an option to show the original weight. Also, sometimes I’d rather cook only one portion and not the entire week so that I could eat it fresh. It’d be nice if you have the option to switch to the ingredients for 1 portion instead of the whole week. Otherwise, great app and good job Kevin! Update: new update is great, more suggestions: For the ingredients, maybe specify recommendations of products that match the recipes macro. For example, for the whole wheat tortilla, specify what brand you use to calculate the macros because the are so many brands out there with different macros! Overall, I love the app..Version: 2.72

Great recipes, easy to useI was a little skeptical about the app, usually with this kind of app the recipes are not as good as what we would normally cook. However, credit where it is due, the recipes have been great. Even some of the ones that I thought we were not going to like were delicious. The convenience of the shopping list has been helpful. The ability to customize the diet (Mediterranean for us), calorie intake, allergies (gluten), and dislikes (beets, peas) makes it really easy to find recipes that will work for us. The only annoyance I've found is not being able to easily switch around what dishes to cook on what days (though you can swap out recipes out of the plan and back in)..Version: 3.92.2

Love it but needs some updatesI love this app. I’ve done a full week with the lose weight option and lost four lbs. Pay no attention to those saying the macros aren’t appropriate. Macros in this app can be adjusted according to what works for YOU and that’s what’s important. Not what the standard American diet (SAD) says. I believe that this app could be more clear on how to split meals between multiple people. My dinners are kind of a guesstimate on what I should eat by seeing what the weight is when just one person should eat. Love the add the ingredient list to make a shopping list. Maybe should be paired with like grocery store delivery so you don’t even have to think about it! Also, some ingredient amounts are just ridiculous, so I should be able to search for common ingredients to reduce waste. I mean, I’m not buying 0.6 oz of arugula!! And I do need way more snack options.Version: 2.12

Room for improvementI want to love it but I can’t . This app is good. It makes meal prep run smoothly. However, I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because of frustrating parameters. For the most part, there are some things I would prefer to eat that either doesn’t fit in the swap criteria or doesn’t take into account the type of dietary restrictions Im under. I know I can substitute things but the caloric count changes which messes with my weight loss goals and balanced diet. I would love it if I had a choice as to what I want included in my weekly meal and then the rest of the week is planned around it. Like I’d like to be give the option to pick three recipes Id like to see in a week of meal prep. Then have the entire week planned with those meals included somewhere. Then I’d like to have the option to still swap if there are things I don’t favor ie. rice, chicken, mushrooms 😷.Version: 2.25

For the people who want to have a good body.To give some context about me: I am a novice weight lifter who wants to get under 10% body fat. I’ve gone though the ups and downs of my nutrition: craving sweets, wanting higher fat foods, not being satisfied etc. So I wanted to find an person who could help me create a balance between satisfaction and discipline. The FitMenCook app was the first thing I found. It having great recipes for a very small price, and all within an app on my phone. It then sent me to this app, where I bought a subscription plan for meal prepping. Now it’s job to create a list of meals is great and it’s variety is great. However, the only thing I feel this app needs is a customized macro application. Currently, one can only have a preset amount of fats, carbs and protein. Giving more flexibly to this would be great. This is the reason why I only give it 4 stars..Version: 2.7

Hit or Miss but mostly HitAll the recipes I tried in the one week free trial period were very good or at least interesting. The problem is ingredient amounts appear to be adjusted to your calorie count, with the odd result that one of the smoothie recipes, "a snack," which apparently got short shrift in the count, called for 1.5 tablespoons of frozen raspberries---the smoothie was a raspberry smoothie---and the other ingredient amounts were so tiny there was but 1/2 cup of ingredients to blend, which was too little for by blender! And all the recipes are higher calorie than they say, because I checked them in another app. The layout and functionality are fine. They should recommend buying groceries only for the week rather than two weeks. I can't subscribe because of inaccurate calorie counts and impossible recipes, but if they fix these issues I would reconsider..Version: 3.119

Not bad so far, some downsidesI’m still in my trial week and am not 100% sold on purchasing this app yet. Mainly because of the following: 1. When customizing meals (I.e. swapping out certain days for new choices rather than having the same meal all week), it appears the grocery list isn’t updating automatically. As a result it was a pain to go back in and correct my shopping list once I noticed. 2. In the spirit of not eating the same meal each day/night, I was expecting the app to present “swap” meal options that would be comparable in carbs / macros to the original meal; however It appears this isn’t happening so I can’t tell how much I’m going over / under unless I manually calculate it. 3. I don’t see where my macros goals / actual numbers live - it would be helpful to have a meal plan tailored to my macros goals and only see food options / swap out options that fit within my daily macros. 4. I don’t see a dairy free preference option and a lot of the recipes have dairy (I’m dairy intolerant). I do like that you can add your own recipe; however you have to manually enter in the macro info. I find myself having to cross reference other apps that do have this info I order to actually enter it into this one. I like the overall concept of this app but not certain it’s worth the money just yet..Version: 1.10.1

Good app for the priceThis app has proven to be very helpful to me. PROS: 1. It seamlessly creates a great meal plan in whatever category or dietary agenda I’m on. 2. If I need to choose an alternative meal after the plan is created, it will let me change the diet category. (Example, after having a low-carb diet meal plan created, and I don’t see anything I want as an alternative meal replacement, I can choose a different plan and choose something from there.) 3. It lists all of the nutrients I need for each recipe. That has been most helpful because some apps will only concentrate on calories, fats, carbs. I have diabetes, so I need to look at the fiber, the sugars and even the sodium because of my kidneys being affected by the diabetes. 4. It creates a grocery list AND will connect you to several different grocery stores. 5. I like that I can add my own recipes. CONS: 1. Although I can add a recipe, I have to manually input it all. 2. It does not have a database of foods so I would have to have all of the nutritional information as I’m entering the recipe. Just tedious and time consuming if you don’t have all of the info. 3. I also cannot add things to the meal plan. Such as if I wanted to add a glass of juice to my breakfast, I cannot do that. That is,unless I create it as a menu item. Again, that is very tedious. I do use this app every day in conjunction with another app that does give me all the nutrition and macros I need for a recipe. I really don’t know at this time if I will be paying for this again…. unless they have plans for improvement. Although there are more pros than cons for me, I can see where the cons will get to be annoying to me after awhile..Version: 3.133

SIMPLY THE BEST.MealPrepPro is simply the best meal prep/nutrition app I’ve used by far! From the simple user interface, custom macros for meal prep, nutritional tracking, and abundance of variety with healthy ingredients to name a few, there is nothing better out there! This app has really allowed me to create and develop a healthier relationship with food coming from thinking I had to eat mundane chicken, veggies, and rice to get and maintain a lean physique. To top it all off, the customer service is superb. I reached out with a recommendation/question and got a response same day. Not only did I receive a response, but consideration for my thoughts and needs. You can tell that the team at MealPrepPro sincerely love what they do! 10/5 stars!.Version: 3.65

Great idea, very easy BUT not accurateThis is an AMAZING idea. Love that meals are preselected and fit your macros. It has saved me a ton of time. However, after tracking these meals in MyFitnessPal, it always puts me 30g of protein under and 10-15g of fat over. I think its due to inter-food variability. For example, am i using Dave’s Killer bread or some other brand? The other issue I wish could be fixed is the ability to import favourite meals from the FitMenCook app. I think its from the same Owner and I’ve used the other app for 2 years now. Have saved a bunch of staples on it which I would love to import easily. Another issue I have with this app is my grocery bill has skyrocketed since using it. I used to eat the same calories/macros with much much more veggies. This app has reduced my veggie intake and greatly increased the amount of meat I eat (reason for increased cost) - which is odd since my protein goal was always met before this app. Some confounding variables i imagine are my partner is trying to gain weight so she’s added as a second person who needs to eat 60% of the meals’ portions leading to more meat consumption. However, she also used to meet her macro goals before the app (probably from protein powders more so than meat)..Version: 2.106

Portion sizes wildly inaccurate.Original review was 1 star and it bothered me that I left it. The portion calculation doesn’t make any sense. It had me eating just under 2 pounds of chicken and rice for a single serving. That’s already not gonna happen, but then after weighing the entire dish, based on that portion size I didn’t have enough portions to set aside. I have been following FitMenCook and Mr. Curry since the early days. He helped me find a joy in cooking and I’ve learned enough that I’ve created my own recipes. Watching a fellow entrepreneur go from so “small time” to watching his business grow and succeed has been a fun journey to witness. I wish these guys nothing but the best, but this app was a big miss for me and my family. Maybe future updates will fix my issues and hopefully I can give this another try..Version: 3.91

Best meal prep app I’ve found so farI have spent the past week using like 10 different meal prep apps, including all the ones at the top of the App Store. This is definitely the best one. The positives: - Excellent interface, by far the best of all meal apps - Easy to pick/change your own meals to your liking, if you’re picky or your preferences have changed - Good nutritional info and good layout to read it all - Great calendar view so your meal plan actually feels like a plan - Easy to change preferences, add household members, etc… The negatives: - Can’t import meals or recipes from other sources, so can’t use recipes from friends or family or your favorite website about baking or whatever - Can’t easily change multiple meals or days at once for short term reasons, eg a religious fasting, a cheat day, a holiday, the day before a marathon, family visiting over, etc… - Shopping portion needs a little work. Can’t account for grocery items already in your kitchen, or items already purchased in a previous week - Shopping items you check off don’t move anywhere, so the list looks cluttered when you already have half of what you need..Version: 3.17

Weight loss PlanFor years I have struggled with trying to lose weight I have tried multiple programs but nothing seem to work. I finally came to a realization that I was going to need a meal plan, but the problem was there was just too many meal plans that got boring. With this plan I love that you can swap things out, remove certain ingredients and it comes with a grocery shopping list. That makes my life so much easier. Not only am I able to adjust the ingredients and the recipes according to my allergies but also around my husbands preferences so I don’t have to cook multiple meals in one evening. I am absolutely in love with this app and I’m telling so many people about it.Version: 2.81

Changed My LifeThis app has truly changed the way I eat. After moving out with my boyfriend, I really struggled to find good recipes that would leave me with plenty of leftovers. I work two jobs so I have little to no time for cooking every single night. My boyfriend and I also workout and wanted to focus more on our eating in order to balance everything out. This app made it legitimately so easy. The automatically generated grocery list? Amazing. The calculation of calories and what I should be eating? Fantastic. The recipes they offer? Fun and delicious. I really can’t say it enough, I love this app. It’s absolutely worth a subscription and I am so excited to continue using it..Version: 2.69

Game changer!Has literally made my life easier, more healthy, less overwhelming, feasible, maintainable and the LIST GOES ON! Once I familiarized myself with the process, and had the app for a few weeks just playing around with it, it has officially become a staple in my week. The recipes are delicious and easy, new recipes come out often, the shopping list is crazy awesome, it calculates your servings automatically, and allows you to have your spouse factored into meal prep. I got it synced up to the lose it app and it’s just been a gamer changer. And there’s a Facebook group to support each other in this journey. If you’re on the fence, I can tell you hands down the best meal planning app to use! Thank you to the MealPrepPro team!.Version: 2.58

Screen orientation forced to landscape on iPadUpdate: Changing my rating from one star to five stars because of developer response :). Thank you and I wish you well! This is honestly about a five star app but it fails the easiest usability requirement… don’t tell me how to hold my device. When I open the app on iPad, the screen turns to landscape mode. It’s forced on me even when I’m holding the iPad in portrait orientation. Fix that, and this rating will be five stars. I feel bad giving a low rating because clearly a lot of work went into this app, but this is my biggest pet peeve. It’s like buying a luxury car that can’t make left turns… why is it built like this??.Version: 2.83

Amazing Meal Prep AppThis app is truly a blessing for busy people, and people who are health conscious alike. It’s so intuitive and it’s a major help to be able to track my macros and still enjoy an endless array of foods. All sorts of cuisine available to choose from, along with quick recipes, more extensive meals, and freezeables as well. Love this app!.Version: 2.7

All-in-one MealPrepping AppGreat and varied recipes, calorie calculation, shopping list, planning features, smart portion calculator, clean UI, and so on. Honestly couldn’t ask for more from a meal prepping app!.Version: 3.116

Best app of all time!I’ve been using this app consistently for over a year. Once a week I plan out my meal plan and grocery list which makes meal prepping flawless!.Version: 3.140

SyncI wish this app would sync with MyFitnessPal so I can track my fitness with my Fitbit..Version: 1.13.0

GreatQuite honestly this app has changed my (fitness) life. I don't have the time to count calories myself so being able to be on autopilot and let the app create your menus is great. Plus they do have a big amount of veggie options for those of us not eating meat!.Version: 3.136

Healthy and delicious meals at your fingertips!I am a young professional with ADHD, and that can make it hard for me to choose meals and plan them out so I remember to eat regularly. This app is GREAT for making sure I get enough snacks and food throughout the day, with the bonus of great recipes and a grocery list ready to go. My partner and I have separate profiles for calorie need so the app is able to combine our meals together and makes cooking easier. And we can adjust how many times to repeat meals and move things around to keep our food interesting. Plus the app graphics are fun and rating each recipe is easy. The only thing I wish is if it remembered which fresh produce I have when I skip meals over the course of the week, to optimize their usage early on for the next week :).Version: 3.139

Je continue de tester…L’appli me semble bien faite. Première journée!.Version: 3.139

Pretty goodGood app, very cool and tasty recipes, but lacks the ability to regulate not only calories but also the amount of proteins, fats and carbohydrates.Version: 3.137

Delicious recipesI’m loving this app! It takes all the guess work out of meal prepping. And the recipes are actually good. The shopping list is genius and I can order my groceries for pick up. Also the only app I know where you can exclude dairy and gluten etc easily..Version: 3.136

Great meal plan appIt’s getting better with each update. Thanks 😊.Version: 3.135

Watch portionsThis app is really helpful and I appreciate how it helps me plan for the week. The recipes are pretty good sometimes I’ve increased the seasoning. The one thing I noticed is the portions seem large. I’m using a food scale and following the instructions but have noticed the portions don’t align with the suggested calorie counts so double check. Otherwise it’s been helpful. Update. After a bit of a learning curve I’m getting more comfortable with the app and have been really enjoying the recipes. Portions are making more sense too..Version: 3.132

Easy and helpful start to meal planningGreat for basic meal planning, easy to use and set up with moderately tasty and easy recipes. Provides grocery list with quantities needed and can include meal prepping for leftovers. However, there are no options to be able to customize or modify recipes, no option for substitutions, no options for using ingredients you already have and some of the recipes are bland (pictures are not accurate either)..Version: 3.133

EasyThis makes meal prepping so simple.Version: 3.132

Best app ever! ❤️Cette application a changé ma vie, beaucoup de variété et remplit de saveurs! J’adore tout de cette app! Et je n’ai jamais de craving car je suis rassasié à chaque repas!.Version: 3.130

Great AppDownloaded this app wanting meal ideas and planned out for the week. Signed up for the free trial with no intentions of getting the full version, however the recipes are simple to follow and adjusts according to how many people are eating, then automatically adjusts the grocery list you need. The bonus is it will load your grocery list into Walmart or Instacart so you just have to review and check out . This app is a game changer , having balanced meals we are no longer complaining about being hungry or snacking on empty calories ..Version: 3.129

Was skeptical at 1stOnly a few days in but I’m impressed. Meals are interesting and very tasty. The detailed grocery list is a bonus..Version: 3.129

Awesome appI love this app for meal planning and the fact that they continue to work on it..Version: 3.116

Great appNever have to guess what to make for supper..love the shopping list too! Great purchase.Version: 3.113

Great SystemI love that it adjusts the ingredient portions based on your personal age, weight, gender and fitness goals. The grocery shopping list feature organized by store sections makes it easier to shop for myself..Version: 3.113

Great appEasy to follow recipes. Great selection of foods and something for everyone. I appreciate the option for different types of diets, and the breakdown of proteins, carbs, fats, and overall calories. Would continue to use for the foreseeable future..Version: 3.110.1

You should try this app!!I love this app! I’ve been using it religiously for the past 3 months and have lost 10 pounds. My only recommendation would be to add more variety in the lunch & dinner options :).Version: 3.107

Actually a decent product for the priceDerives a reasonable amount of value for the subscription price for me. The shared ingredients between multiple recipes in a fixed-time-period plan make it easier for me to buy in bulk without worrying about wasting food, which ends up saving a small amount of money amortized over a long time period..Version: 3.106

AmazingEverything I’ve been looking for in a meal planning app..Version: 3.104

Unreal appI don’t usually take the time to review apps (I know I should), but this one truly deserves a 5-star rating. It’s super efficient, with accurate portions, and every recipe I’ve tried so far has been soo good. The shopping list feature is one of my favorite parts! It lets you quickly check off items you already have and organizes your list by sections, making grocery shopping so much easier. Rather than wandering around aimlessly in the grocery store, I spend way less time in the store . I also spend way less time having decision paralysis choosing meals for the week. Highly recommend..Version: 3.104

Très intéressant! C’est super utile et vraiment bien fait.Peu de détails laissés au hasard - c’est vraiment très bien pour planifier. Beaucoup de fonctionnalités très bien pensées. Les recettes véganes sont un peu moins variées..Version: 3.104
