Complete Anatomy ‘24 App Comments & Reviews

Complete Anatomy ‘24 Positive Reviews

Best App to ever exist in the history of everThis is an amazing app! I paid $37 for the student version and it is perfect. I am lucky to be in a class where we have cadavers but I can’t always go to open lab. So this very useful for visualizing the ligaments and muscles. I love the search feature and being able to add muscles one at a time to the skeleton. I also like that you can hide certain muscles to see those that are deep. The AR feature is great for sketching and the lectures are helpful as well. If you’re in an online anatomy class especially or without access to cadavers this is your best friend and absolutely worth the price. My only critique is that I would love to be able to save certain skeletons that I build. For example after I add all the muscles that move the pectoral girdle to the skeleton I would love to be able to save it to come back to later. And be able to make “playlists” of all my saved models so that they’re easy to find. It’s possible I just haven’t figured this out yet too, still learning the app a little bit..Version: 8.7.4

Keeps CrashingI’ve never paid for an app before but I’m in school to become a Registered Diagnostic Sonographer and I needed something a bit more in-depth, yet, basically “dummy proof” in explaining blood vessel connections and course. If it can help all of these med students then surely it could help me. I wasn’t expecting this app to do that and so much more. Honestly the best $37 ever spent. I don’t feel like I’m memorizing things either; when I gain an understanding of something then it sticks in my head so much better. With my textbooks and class lectures, I’ve just been flash carding everything in my head because alot of the information feels like disjointed information. With this app I feel like relevances has been introduced for the first time. I gave it three stars for one reason only: it keeps crashing. Again, I’m in school for sonography so being able to locate organs from the transverse view is important. I select the cross-section option in order to see the body habitus transversely and the app closes out completely every time. It worked at first - I only discovered the cross-sectional view this morning but now at 5:30 in the evening it no longer works. An incredible bummer because this app is actually the only reason I now understand what my textbooks have been showing me from that specific view. I honestly don’t need to make full use of all of the apps capabilities; the few things I do use it for are now only 50% operative. Please fix the crashing 🙏🏼.Version: 6.1.0

The Best Anatomy App!This really is the most comprehensive Anatomy App today. Not only does it include every structure, but it also shows all the forms of movement for every muscle, insertion and origin points and even full courses from experts. That said, the developers need to improve their female Anatomy represetation. Right now you can only see female torso and pelvis. The entire female structure is different than the male, would be great to incide both. Additionally they need to include different skin color options, because diseases present differently on different skin tones. And it's just more inclusive. Make those changes and it would be perfect. Edit: They responded to my question and will have the full female anatomy represented in Winter 2021! Once again the BEST anatomy app. The remaining change for them to make is to add various skin tones to understand how disease presents differently. I'm sure that'll be a quick & easy addition. Thanks developer team!.Version: 8.0.1

Great app but still needs moreI really enjoy this app and find great utility with it in teaching not only the residents and students I work with but also showing the images to patients. I use it across platforms (iPhone, iPad and windows 10). This really helps the patients understand better their own anatomy. I use this app extensively in teaching residents and students especially prior to performing injections. Unfortunately, it has come to my attention recently that both the dorsal scapular nerve and cluneal nerves are missing from this app which is very unfortunate. One other feature I really wished this program allowed would be to lay the 3D model in a prone position, this would allow the user to see and approach the anatomy structures from the lateral aspect. It has been my experience that using this app in a clinic teaching setting significantly helps the residents to develop a better image in their mind and helps them more when they are using ultrasound, understanding treatment options and performing injections. I gave only a four star review due to the missing anatomical structures..Version: 8.4.0

(Pretty goot but one major flaw!) Edit-Amazing app!I love Essent. Anatomy 5 and I immediately bought Complete Anatomy as soon as I got notice of it. So far it is way better than EA5 but there is one thing that annoys me pretty much. When you tap on a structure it automatically centers that scructure. So that means it zooms out for most of the bigger structures. That makes working/learnin with the app extremely frustrating because if you tap on the wrong structure it zooms out and then you have to zoom in again. That‘s especially annoying if you just want to klick onto different structures to see what they are named. So please remove that automatic zoom or at least add an option in settings to turn that feature off! Make it like in EA5 where you could press on a structure and the camera didn‘t move! You will get 5* if you make that change! Edit: They changed the feature! Now the app is so unbelievably amazing. I study in 4. year medicine and I still use it nearly every day while I‘m studying (especially now while learning surgery) This app gets my complete recommendation for anybody who studies medicine, works in the medical field or simply is interested in medical structures. So basically it is great for everyone! And amazing support btw!.Version: 1.3

Pretty good butI’d like a cadaver “skin” option and they really should have thought the pop-up info window that takes up the entire screen in AR mode a little better. Edit: To clarify, I mean “skin” not in the integumentary sense, but rather computer graphics sense. I’d like the option to turn on photorealistic shading, texture, and coloration that looks more like the cadavers do in the cadaver lab. Arteries and nerves the same color (more or less), veins blueish/black, etc. Basically I wish you could hit a button and turn it from “beautifully illustrated anatomy textbook” to look more like the Mark Nielsen/Shawn Miller cadaver photos lecture that they have available for purchase. In an ideal world, they’d make the muscles floppy, flaccid, or even give the option to show what the muscle looks like when atrophied (like they often are with elderly donors in the lab), but this would be a pretty deep rewrite of the 3D models, compared to the more “doable” updating of the model textures. Last gripe: I wish you could temporarily disable bones and muscles from being selected (while still having them visible for reference). I don’t have particularly fat fingers, but if I’m studying nerves, it’s almost impossible to select a nerve without zooming in 1000% just to make sure you’re don’t select the bone/muscles nearby instead..Version: 5.0.6

So very good but also very annoyingI’ve looked far and wide for an excellent app to study brain anatomy. Primarily I want to learn the spatial relationships between the different structures of the brain. This app is what I’ve been looking for and, bonus, it includes the rest of the body. The thing that is most annoying, and I hope it gets fixed soon, is that the view resets itself often. By the view, I mean you can focus on particular parts and hide others. For me, I want the brain, and only the brain showing. And I’ll hide parts of the brain to ease my studies. It takes careful work to get to this point. I have to choose to show the nervous system, and hide other body systems. Depending on the complexity of the view you want, it can take 5-10 minutes or more to set it up. What I’d love at this point is to be able to save the view. And then come back to it. Instead, even with background app refresh on, if you switch to another app, let your screen turn off, etc., the app will reset the view to the default view, which is the skeletal system. So close to being so good, yet so far..Version: 4.0.4

Used this app to help pass examI became a licensed optician in the State of Idaho 2 years ago and Complete Anatomy was invaluable in terms of being able to see how eye muscles worked, pathologies of the eye (which my training material did not go into enough detail with) and the model of the eye that now shows tear ducts and cornea. I used this app for over a dozen screenshots with detailed notes on both my iPad Pro and MacBook and it was seriously the best. Well done devs! I do hope to continue to see micro-anatomy models added; specifically I’d love to see the 5 layers of the cornea added as I use this app weekly still to show patients how their eyes work such as the crystalline lens that becomes opaque causing cataracts..Version: 6.5.0

Detailed Model of Heart VesselsI was looking at the heart today. It was my hope to find it in this app, and find models from the age of babies to adults. The lab I work in does not dissect younger people or therefore give insights into the structure and function of the heart from birth to death. It would be extraordinarily helpful to have a model of a heart added to the helpful and copious amount of detail this app has compiled about the human body. It would be helpful to have a detailed model of the heart that can be faded by quarters. It could be cut frontally and sagitally to form these quarters, and each quarter can fade. If the heart could continue to beat as the user fades out one or more quarters, and allow the accurate visualization of blood flow, that would be a beyond helpful tool. I would be on the app all day to fully understand the function of the heart looking at such a model. Please consider adding more detailed models about the human heart. I need to find an adult heart model with all the vessels, with a realistic layer of adipose tissue that can be hidden or faded. Thank you so much for this app!.Version: 9.1.0

Great app for me but ...I’ve been used the essential anatomy 8 on iphone and ipad for tow years and i upgraded to the complete anatomy for ipad when it released , its a great app for me as a dental student but and it’s great idea to get it on iphone ...... but when I downloaded the app on iPhone and restore my purchase (the full version) it works well but when I close the app and open it again i have to restore the purchase again and every time i close and open the app , so when I’m offline i can’t use it anymore 💔💔. I hope that you will fix this issue to make it perfect app 👌. Sincerely Osama.Version: 1.0

Very resourceful and accurateI am a first year medical student. This app has helped me organize locations in my brain so that it was much easier to locate the structures on the cadavers. It’s very, very accurate and the interface is fantastic. There are a few drawbacks though. I don’t understand why there is no option for a full female anatomy. This would help greatly as there are many structures that can be identified within the female breast. Also, the “lectures” are not really lectures. I purchased the cadaveric images, but they weren’t interactive as i thought they would be. I don’t recommend buying those. The 3D model is much more helpful. Overall this app is great and is highly recommended for medical students or anatomy enthusiasts..Version: 1.3

Take my money!I’m a Physical Therapist and I use their Essential Anatomy 5 app almost daily in the clinic for patient education. This is a huge upgrade from what I can tell so far, with more detailed models, the ability to see labeled various landmarks on the bones, the ability to see hilighted muscle attachment sites, and many more educational features that I have yet to explore. Their essential anatomy 5 app was probably my most valued app on the iPhone , and this one looks to be an even better version of that, better utilizing the amazing processing power our phones have. So far it looks fantastic..Version: 1.2.1

It Is very good at what it does haveI am very pleased with how much this has helped me as a student in anatomy. It goes very in depth with all the terms and definitions, and very rarely is there a term that I couldn’t find. So five stars for that My only complaint is the lack of smaller in depth models for the eye, ear, and brain. Like what they have for the skin, blood vessels, etc... I know it’s hard for them to have literally everything but it would have been very useful to have when my classes went over those things... but great job on the app!!!.Version: 4.1.5

Anatomy App ReviewThis app is great! I used this for my college Anatomy class for a whole semester and I found it useful. It is able to give you an accurate and adjustable view of the nearly every structure in the human body. If you have trouble scrolling through your huge textbook, this is a great buy. The in-app movement can be a bit tedious at times, especially the two finger movement. It is difficult to see certain structures from every angle. It is possible to isolate and view them that way, but it really takes away from what makes the app so good, it’s simplicity. Overall, I enjoy this app and I would recommend it to friends..Version: 1.3

Student midwifeI am feeling out on this app. I’m a visual learner and I wish I had known about this app from the beginning of my training and education. I know this is a huge undertaking, but I’d eventually love to see if the following could be added: a combined pregnant and fetal model at various gestational stages. A combined fetal and pregnant models that allowed the ability to select different maternal pelvic shapes and the ability to select different fetal positions and levels of descent. That would be absolutely amazing..Version: 6.5.0

Update Refuses to tell you what the upgrade costsI appreciate that the developer answered this review and helped me out to find the prices. I won’t lie to you this is a great app card they revealed at the price of the upgrade I could’ve decided if I want to get it or not but I have searched all over and they want me to down. Once you do the 1499 initial payment they want you to upgrade but refused to tell you,how much that will cost.Version: 7.1.0

Most UsefulThis app is absolutely the most useful app for studying anatomy I have seen. The entire line of 3D4Medical apps are highly useful. As a Kinesiology student and as a personal trainer this app has allowed me to create highly detailed presentations for school, teach large groups of both children and adults about anatomy as it pertains to movement, and provides clear visuals for clients when I need them. I can’t imagine not having this app on my phone..Version: 6.4.0

More detail; Uncertain if worth itI do like this app a lot, but I honestly don’t know that I like it more than essential anatomy, which I had purchased before getting complete anatomy. It has several optional features, like exercises and movement of joints/muscle function, which is an improvement from essential anatomy. I also like that there is much more anatomical detail and options to select minute detail with respect to connective tissue, fascia, muscle layers, and neurovasculature. There are several “classes” and videos, but many of them don’t los correctly, making their addition to the app less valuable. I have the iPhone X, but the app still crashes and lags frequently. This drives me crazy and makes me want to switch back to essential. Also, it doesn’t include vestibular structures, which I found surprising. I wish the developers would add this..Version: 6.1.0

Incredible precision! The detail is so exact, and anytime I am looking for an answer, I open this app. There hasn't been a time when I wasn't able to get the best information. Unfortunately, I recently purchased it on my iPad, but the app will not load. It displays the loading screen, and I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, with no prevail. Overall, I would recommend this to anybody!.Version: 6.4.0

Needs Update for Extended MonitorLove this app to use with my students. With my iPad Mini which allows for mirror screen I use the app to teach but with the new iPads with the M1 chip I can no longer use the app on my extended monitor. It’s really frustrating since the app becomes harder to use for teaching with an iPad connected to an external monitor. Please help! You peeps are amazing!.Version: 9.1.0

What happened?Update: It’s working again, but I had to figure out how to fix it rather than being contacted by customer service after asking for help and leaving a 1-star review to get attention. Great app. Wish I hadn’t been without it for weeks when the update broke it. It was working well, then I was upgraded to the ‘19 version, and I don’t have access to any navigation buttons or the ability to look at soft tissues. Help! 5 star before. 1 Star now..Version: 4.0.4

Med studentIt's a great tool, but only if you want to study male anatomy. I wish I could have a complete female body as well. My cadaver is female so I was looking forward to using his to study and unfortunately this only allows you to view SOME of the female pelvis. There doesn't appear to be an option to toggle btw male and female. But even with the prospected female pelvis several of the structures are missing. This is GREATLY disappointing given how much I paid for this. You'd think Complete Anatomy would be Complete..Version: 1.3

I am a Massage Therapist, I recommend this app to all taking anatomyWell worth the $20 for an individual device plan. I spend hours just exploring the anatomy of our body (Edited) I still highly recommend this app! I would like to know if I can transfer my plan to another device and remove it from this one. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated..Version: 8.0.0

Removed pathology feature? One of my favorite aspects of this app was the ability to show common pathology views. For example, if you clicked on a lumbar disc, it also showed herniation or extrusion. Since the nee update, I cannot figure out how to access this feature, but it seems to have been moved into the “conditions” videos, which require a more extensive subscription. Notwithstanding that feature change, it’s an excellent and comprehensive anatomy app.Version: 4.1.2

Essential Tool for A&PI’ll keep this short and sweet. I’m a nontraditional undergrad in my first real A&P course since high school, which was nearly 20 years ago. This class is absolutely brutal, and the 2D diagrams in the textbook aren’t cutting it. This app is a lifesaver. By the way, the desktop version is just as amazing, and you get a sizable discount if you’ve already purchased this. I’d bet it works the other way around too..Version: 4.0.3

Amazing Teaching ToolAs a yoga teacher, I use this tool all the time to show my clients, the muscle groups I am talking about… There is always a moment of recognition from the student when they realize and deeply understand what you are trying to accomplish in an Asana. Thank you for creating a miracle of an app to help people worldwide..Version: 9.4.0

Definitely recommend. This has been very helpful in studying for my anatomy practicums! Especially since we had limited access to the skeletal models beyond lab, it really helped to be able to rotate and examine individual bones in this app. The quizzes were alright, sometimes they wouldn’t load all of the way. This was the best anatomy app I found and it’s been an invaluable study aid..Version: 4.0.3

App cant be openedPlease help me with this app, I have installed it but when I wanna open it, it stays on the loading screen, I have waited for a long time and tried many times but wasn’t useful, I deleted it and reinstalled it but it was the same, please help me I am a medical student and this is very useful for me… Regards….Version: 9.7.0

AmazingAs a medical student I bought this app to learn gross anatomy and it’s the most amazing app that has helped me get an A! Between the videos, quizzes, diagrams, 3D structures that you are able to view arterial, venous, skeletal, and muscle along with the AR mode where you can put whatever you want as a projection to make it look like the real thing. It has changed my life..Version: 5.0.4

AR mode could be better...I was a little disappointed in AR mode in this app. I've seen other apps that let you lay the body on a table as if you were performing a dissection. This app does not do this. Also, you can't isolate or hide body features while in AR mode. To do this you need to exit and reenter AR mode which is inconvenient. You also can't animate the body in AR mode. (I've seen this on other apps) Finally it would be nice if there were a quiz mode with various structures pinned while in AR mode. This would simulate an anatomy lab. (The current quiz mode is pretty limited and only asked me a few questions when I did the upper limb. There is certainly more that could be added here.) This is a very expensive app. Forgive me if I expected a little more out of its highlight feature....Version: 1.1.1

Account overlapI have paid for full app on my iPad. It won’t allow me to use the program on my phone without purchasing add ons. I downloaded as an early adopter, paid for subscription which was converted to a full program purchase, which I appreciate. Now with my phone it’s trying to make me purchase all over again..Version: 4.2.1

Love it, but needs to be fixedEver since the latest update, there is no UI or any tools or anything that pops up. All there is is a skeleton with a blank screen. I am unable to add systems or choose whether I want to look at the left arm or the abdomen. Besides this, I love the app and would recommend it to any who works in medical or who is just is interested..Version: 4.0.4

Incredible detail! The amount of time, effort, and detail put into this app is absolutely mind blowing. You really have to try it to understand and appreciate the love that was put into creating this outstanding anatomy platform. I could easily write paragraphs on each part and it’s greatness. Just download it and explore. I guarantee you’ll be impressed!.Version: 6.2.0

AR GlitchEvery time I place a model in AR and attempt to enlarge or shrink it ... it disappears and I have no clue where it goes or how to make it return. Even clicking on the little blue circle that appears doesn’t help. I was ready to buy this app after my 3 day free trial I was so impressed but the AR glitch is really annoying and it’s so useful. Fix it please so I can give you my money SHEESH!.Version: 4.1.3

Great app for studyingOverall this app is fantastic in aiding my study of human anatomy. Although it may have quirks and such, it is a wonderful app. However, I have one comment. In studying the pathway and position of the phrenic nerve, in almost all cases it runs superficial to the scalenus anterior muscle. However, in the app I noticed that the phrenic nerve runs deep to the scalenus anterior muscle. Is this a mistake, or was this purposely done?.Version: 5.2.3

👍I’ve used this app to help study for classes throughout the last couple semesters and over the summer. It’s especially great for a quick study sesh while in between daily tasks. There was a weird glitch keeping me from viewing the lectures I had purchased but a quick reinstall fixed it..Version: 5.0.1

Really helpful!I highly recommend this app for learning the parts of each bone of the body. It’s so easy to use and you get a 3D view of each bone and can also isolate each one and zoom in as much as you need. It’s awesome! Thanks c.anatomy for saving me! Nothing worked as best as this app, oh yeah and it’s free too (3 day free trial if you want the parts of the bones included)..Version: 4.1

FantasticThe best app I have found to look at 3D structures of the human body. After you figure out how to navigate moving the body on the screen, it is amazing. I bought the $10 upgrade because the trial showed me how much it could do. Genuinely helping me pass my A&P class and I will continue using it in the future for reference..Version: 1.2.1

GET THIS APPIf you’re a student in A&P you have to get this app. I am only halfway through my first quarter of A&P and I absolutely need this app to get an A in the class. It is making my life so much easier and teaching me more than the models in lab can. Such a good investment to make. Really not that expensive at all for everything you’re getting.Version: 5.2.0

Please add this to IPhone versionThere is the cutting option in iPad version which i had it but when i bought the iPhone version it dose not have that option which os one of the best thing about this app so hope you can add that option to iPhone version . Thank you so much for this app it helps me a lot ..Version: 4.1.1

Only the skeleton?I’m not sure what happened. This app was great and then I went to use it the other day and I couldn’t see any layers only the skeleton. No nerves or organs, nothing. No options to access anything. What gives?.Version: 4.0.4

Massage therapy student must haveAs a massage therapy student, this app SAVED ME. I COULD NOT GRASP ANATOMY especially muscle insertions/origins/actions…this app honestly saved me from failing. The full version is so insanely worth it if you’re a student! It’s the best money I’ve spent. I can’t stop raving about this to my classmates and have gotten so many people on to this app. It made everything click so fast, I wish I got it sooner in the semester tbh. 10/10 recommend. Thank you app creators, oh my goodness ❤️.Version: 9.7.0

Great for school! This app is great and just want I need for my anatomy class! Only down fall is the price after the trial runs out. I don’t have that much money right now as a student and to have to pay $50 and for it to last for only a year is kind of impossible to do..Version: 9.2.0

Most Complete Anatomy App I’ve OwnedI have used many apps in last few years to educate myself and others on Human Anatomy basics and more complicated subjects! Honestly, not so complicated with this App! The ease in which you can view the Human Body and it’s systems makes this App a must! Specifically, regional anatomy which was important to me was made easier to grasp just by slowly but concretely going through each region! I highly recommend purchasing this App for a very professional, detailed and accurate learning! Try it, you will not regret it.Version: 6.1.0

Cannot see the category on the top of screenI cannot see the category on the top of screen on iPhone 14 pro..Version: 9.1.0

Great app, super laggy, difficult to navigateThis is a great learning app! I have been using it for some KNES classes and it is awesome to visualize things in a different way. I love being able to isolate different features of the body and see the different types of movements and exercises. Truly amazing. The app is free through my education, so I am not sure that it would have been worth purchasing if it wasn’t offered, mostly because of the lag There are only two things that really bother me with this app. The first is the app is extremely laggy for me, on my phone and laptop no matter where I am or what kind of laptop or pc I am on. The lag is especially bad when I am searching for different parts of the body, this is a constant frustration and waste of time while studying. I think it’s due to the massive amount of content it has to filter. The lag also causes the app on my phone to crash every time I leave it. Thankfully there is a recently viewed feature so I can go back to where I was, but it can be frustrating to be restarting constantly. The second issue is the difficulty to navigate different features on the app. I would appreciate a more detailed and comprehensive tutorial on how to make certain features work like highlighting multiple structures. It has taken me a while to learn how to use this app and I know there is still so much more I don’t know how to do. Overall, great app, I can appreciate the amount of work that goes into it. Cheers to the many creators and collaborators..Version: 8.7.4

Amazing butPlease allow us to have the application in french for exemple, and at the same time having access to all courses and video in english. Because we actually have to change the application language to access others languages videos and courses. And an other thing, I would so much prefer to buy an individual licence instead of an annual one... Other than that, such an amazing application..Version: 8.7.4

Some features don’t workIt’s been more than 2 months I’ve been using this app. Every time I click on nerve branches it never works. Deleted the app and dl it again, still having the same issue!.Version: 8.6.0

Update Has IssuesI’ve used this app in the past for years and thought it was great. Very disappointed in this update. I have trouble logging in and the one time that I was able to I could no longer view previous lectures I paid for!.Version: 8.0.0

Transferring the app from iPhone to iPadHi, I just recently purchased this app on my iPhone but I would rather have it on my iPad. Is there a way to transfer the account/app from my phone to my iPad?.Version: 5.0.6

TrialHow do you unsubscribe the app after the 3 day trial ?.Version: 5.2.2

Nothing betterI gave four stars because you'll probably skip a 5 star review, so that you'll read that it's the best. Enjoy..Version: 4.2.1

Best Anatomy Tool Ever! This app is fantastic! I am a Yoga and Pilates Teacher and it really helps me understand and visualize human anatomy and biomechanics. Worth the purchase!.Version: 1.3

Best Anatomy App EVARR!!!It’s amazing how far anatomy apps have gone! I love using technology to understand anatomy and I definitely think it’s super worth it to buy both this one and the iPad versions.
