One of the most BRILLIANT games ever!I highly recommend this app. And I admire the appmakers for making such a game that is so deep in history, architecture, puzzles, and classic literature. I love games about the old days, from Renaissance to the Victorian Era. And I was completely immersed in Renaissance Italy, as I explored cathedrals, libraries, gardens, and tinkered with Leonardo Da Vinci’s own inventions. The graphics are so fantastic, and the background, furniture, and rooms, are so realistic and adorable. I thank you guys very much for entertaining me with this puzzle game, especially during the Coronavirus times 😊. I have always been obsessed with puzzle games and this one has satisfied my boredom pretty well. And I also love the story a lot. I even like the House of Da Vinci series more than the Room series. I would love it if any company could make such puzzle games involving mystery, ingenuity, and history even. Here is one request for such a puzzle game. I would like a puzzle game story that has a female for a main character. There probably already is such a game out there already. But I would like to see one set in some old days too. Maybe you could make it one day if you’re ever done with the House of Da Vinci series. Just an idea 😉 Anyway, I really, really, can’t wait for the next Da Vinci app. Keep up the good work 👍🏻. Extremely satisfying to play!!I’m a huge fan of games such as Myst, The Room series, and the Rusty Lake series. House of Da Vinci II was extremely enjoyable, and far outpaces the first, in my opinion! The game play was very satisfying, with wonderful variety, a great combo of challenging to easy puzzles keeping the game moving, beautiful graphics, and a delicious aesthetic. My only complaint is the sometimes irritating amounts of zoom-in and zoom-out required to navigate or to make an object work, though I eventually grew accustomed to it. The characters and storyline were a little odd (the first half is apparently a kind of prequel to House of Da Vinci I, and the second half is like the sequel. A tad confusing.) and the ending is certainly...well...the poem is a bit groan worthy and out of left field. But the puzzles were so satisfying that I truly didn’t care. Incredibly frustrating gesture requirements.The camera does not stay stationary for you to be able to manipulate hardly anything. So something that I’ve been trying to manipulate for two minutes but does nothing ends up being the thing that I have to swipe *this* way instead of *that* way, or in order to do something it needs to be zoomed in *one* more time. A little bit of that is fine, because you don’t want to just allow the player to click around aimlessly trying to find things by chance. But when it’s right off the bat and consistent throughout it’s incredibly annoying and I end up doing that anyway because there’s nowhere else to go until I figure out the ONE way it can be done. But that’s pretty much like the last game, as well. Having to open doors fully instead of automatically. Un/screwing something manually when you’re trying to not trigger the whole thing to spin, it’s just ridiculous. There should be some kind of HOLD setting at LEAST on the items, or a purposeful turn. Enjoyable until last chapterDecent game for those who love puzzlers. Entertaining story, good voice acting, lovely artwork, nice music. But by the last chapter the puzzles were becoming tedious. Trial-and-error puzzles get old really fast and there were too many of them. I was irritated to find there was more than one puzzle with yellow symbols on a gate/door. Perhaps there’s a more logical approach to solving it other than trial-and-error. While I did know what I had to do to solve it, I used the hint system to finish the second one. I was just too bored with it. Also, sometimes the inventory and hint icons or the “special tool” would block clues in the environment. What knocked off two stars though was the painful ending. A five minute (or more) narrated poem...that’s the reward? And did it really have to rhyme?! Some of the rhymes were a real stretch, actually made me wince. I was really perplexed at this choice. Can’t remember if the first game did this. Keep plot explanations concise or give the gamer an option to skip it or read later. Good game!Updated... after writing the below review, I went back into the game to take one more look and it had reverted back to the beginning of the maze game. I was able to finish the game. So I have updated it to five stars because this is an amazing game. This was an awesome game up to the point where a glitch stopped me dead in my tracks. Hopefully there will be a fix for this!? I am in chapter 5, at the library. took the hidden elevator up to the hidden room. When I put the book on the lectern on the desk after opening the lectern, I managed to shoot two marbles through the maze. When I went to shoot the third marble into the maze and moved the switch once, the marble disappeared and it didn’t pop back over to the spring for me to try again. Amazing gameI’ll start off by saying I absolutely love this series and can’t wait for the next one. The realism and beauty has gotten even better than the first one and it looks incredible. I also personally think this is better than “The Room” series because I think the story is easier to follow and flows from and connects to the first game. The room just always seemed to be multiple stories with a central focus, ie the null. The only thing I will say, although there was the one Easter egg with the ghost in this one. I do miss the side goal of collecting the blueprints from the first game. It didn’t need to be exactly that again but I would have liked something like that in this one too. Mechanical and detailed puzzlesThis game is a huge recommendation to those interested in moving puzzles. This puzzle game takes you through an adventure that challenges you every minute you spend. Most of the puzzles require you to move around between rooms, grabbing objects, adjusting pieces, seeing mechanical x rays. Other have smaller spaces, but don’t let this take you for a fool. These small spaces make up the lack of movement with dozens of challenging puzzles that hide in plain sight. This game does include hints, incase you get stuck at any puzzle. The hints do lead you in the right direction but never gives away locations or answers. The hints can sometimes confuse the player but only to cause the player to have mindful thinking. SpectacularAbsolutely fantastic and simply a joy to play. By far the best games available. Your only peer or rival are the developers that do the The Room series. The puzzles are very well done and the addition of characters and dialogue only add to the game and get you even more immersed. Anxiously waiting for the next in this series to be released. Great value for the small price. It took me about 12 hours and it was worth every cent. This one had the best ending sequence yet. I liked where it took you back into the game for a moment before it was all over. You should consider offering an extended versions for $6.99 along with the standard version for $4.99. Fantastic!!!Finally a puzzle series that allows one to really engage in critical thinking. The most fun (and frustrating parts, not a bad thing) is when I know what needs to be done and I begin to lose patience - I’m forced to take a step back, recenter myself, and rework the puzzle! Suggestion: there is so much rich history (both real and fantasy), focusing on the real- I wonder if it’d be possible to have access to the book outside of the game with links to google scholar or Wikipedia articles (vetted stuff) so one could dive deeper into the history that lays foundation for the story, the history behind the types of puzzles, or academics who have devoted their lives to the study of the games elements and nuances. Most Amazing GameI loved House of Da Vinci I, and this lives up to be the sequel, the story is incredibly written, and it’s shown how much care and dedication they put into this game, and for a price of only $3 it’s worth it, in fact even if it was $10 it would be worth it, the developers are incredibly nice trying to help everyone with issues, and even with heavily critical comments not looking for a solution and just for something to rage at, they still respond respectfully and simply. Excellent game playI rarely do reviews, but after the extreme pleasure I experienced playing this game I had to express my views. This was one of the best games I have ever played. Well worth the money and time. I’ve played many point and click adventure games and this one is definitely on my top 10 best list. It was so exciting to me that just when I thought I was approaching the end, it just kept going and going! DarkI understand the other comments about the continuity. To me, it seemed the chapters were created by different groups. Different styles. I do have a problem starting in the abbots room. It’s dark. I turn my brightness way up and It still feels like it’s more of a hidden object challenge. The hints are great, but don’t work so well when I’ve poked, flipped, opened and closed every possible item a few times. “Go back and turn left,” or now “turn the lever right” doesn’t work anymore after I’ve reset every other piece in the room. Fun puzzles, some bugsThe puzzles are fun and challenging for the most part and there’s a lot of gameplay for the money. But there were places in the game where puzzles failed to cooperate and I had to restart to get them working again. The two places that come to mind are the pinball game (it didn’t give me a new ball). And the game in the second to the last room that’s like a giant lock. You have to move the pieces laterally and at one point they wouldn’t budge. I restarted the game several times to get it working again. Love This Game, But ...I have purchased all the Blue Brain games because I absolutely love the detail and the story lines in bot daVinci games. I hope there others in development because I will be looking for them. The big disappointment for me in this game is that, regardless of anything I do I simply cannot get the mechanism with a handle to insert into the slot on the extended table leg. I am basically stuck and I cannot go anywhere from here. I even located a walkthrough to see if I had done something wrong or had not done something but I have done everything I need to do at this point. Beautiful, on par and at times better than ROOMThe last chapters of this game were beautiful and even breathtaking. The best presentation of puzzles within a storyline (searching for a hidden library) I’ve experienced, and the only iPad games I play are puzzle games such as this. I’ve played Myst and even Manhole many years ago. I like that the more complicated puzzles that need manipulations across different places are tight, and not tedious in traveling. Touch UI needs work...The puzzles range from extremely simple to outrageously complicated. What makes it all rather frustrating is the touch UI is erratic in it's behavior. Once a puzzle is complete, that area is no longer able to get focus, but not always. This can leave you wondering if there's something else there you missed, and a couple times there were, but mostly not. That's confusing. What is more confusing is that far too often you can touch something a dozen times and on the very next try, it moves. But once in a while, all you have to do is lightly touch something and it rattles or has clear marks so you know it's something that can be moved. Excellent room escape!I found the 1st House of DaVinci (which you should also totally buy and play both games are def worth a few bucks) around the time “the room” games were getting massively popular and so of course a hundred devs jumped on the bandwagon. The difference in this game and all the other escape game clones is this game is AWESOME! Incredible SequelLike many of you, I started puzzle escape room games with Fireproof’s The Room. I was skeptical about The House of Da Vinci but after a couple years of craving a new puzzle escape room I caved and got the first and second apps. I must say, while I’m only partway through The House of Da Vinci II I am blown away! They tweaked some elements that were unsavory in the first installment and added new dimensions that are incredible. The craftsmanship, the planning, the attention to detail, and the storytelling are all superb. I couldn’t recommend this more highly! Five stars! GlitchI have enjoyed the game so far until I came to the table. I had to look online for a walkthrough to see if I was doing something wrong, and the mechanism that is supposed to go into the leg of the table won’t go there. I have the pieces together correctly but there is a glitch in the game. I got a new iPad Pro 11 inch so I thought I would buy a game and I never spend money for a game but I wanted to check out the graphics on it. Absolutely amazingI love this game and the first one of the series so much. The animation, the incredible attention to detail, the mind twisting puzzles, the story, everything about it made me fall in love at first sight. There is clearly a lot of effort and care put into these games and I can’t wait to see more. Has issues that will never be fixedIt’s a fun game, but there are times where I just wasn’t touching something perfectly so nothing would happen. So would do the hints and found out I was right, but then after a couple mins of just spam tapping it’ll just randomly work. Super frustrating to say the least. Then I’ve had times where you have to move to pieces into place but requires a pinch motion to do, but a pinch motion also moves you backwards. So it was an absolute fight to get it to move the two items instead of move me back. The first one was not this frustrating. Achievements not working?The game is fantastic. I liked it better than the first game. I took off a star due to the very long poem at the end, which I felt took too long. Also the story became hard to follow, for me anyway. How do I access achievements? My first time playing was after the latest update and I never unlocked an achievement nor do I see a menu for achievements. Edit: I found the achievement menu, it’s the star on the bottom right of the main menu. It seems I have been unlocking achievements without any notifications popping up. A truly fantastic sequel!Completely destroyed my expectations in the best possible way!! I went into this game dreading that it would be a giant letdown, as sequels (especially those for puzzle or HO games) so often are. But this game was just as good as the first. Improved but problems still lingerI thought this made great strides over the previous game. Great variation in settings going from mechanical box puzzles to room escapes to courtyards to cathedrals. No longer working in dimly lit rooms with clues barely visible. Camera control was still a bit wonky though. Needed hints to find that an object or area I thought was unreachable actually was but needed to be focused on from only one particular angle or position. Odd controls of not being able to turn around and backtrack through and area but had to pinch the screen to walk backwards. Excellent!I hesitated in getting #2 since the first one was too frustrating due to vague clues. But so glad I did get #2. This was a game to be savored and not rushed through. Hated to see it end. Puzzles were fun and entertaining with only a few difficult ones. A couple tougher ones were frustrating since I thought the end result was one way when it was another. The story line was amazing as was the sound effects and music. A must to listen with headphones. The creaking of the floor and doors were eerie. The hints were welcomed as was a final hint that would help solve a difficult puzzle . But a negative was you would be in the middle of playing a puzzle and were stumped. So sad it’s over!!!!I loved every moment of this sequel. There were times I over complicated things and got stuck but if I just set my phone down for a bit I could return with a fresh perspective. The house of de VinciI absolutely love these games. I recently had an accident and have lots of time. So far I have played The Room, The Room ll, and Room lll. I am now starting this one. Really like the story and the puzzles are pretty unique.Played the first game and it was pretty good. The story was interesting, but in this second game it starts to get really deep and intriguing. The music in this game is very nice too and adds great ambiance. The puzzles are top notch and 99% unique with a few familiar favorites scattered in. Some people compare this game series to The Room games. The Room games are great, but I think these Da Vinci games are great in their own right. GreatI liked it and had fun until I got to the end and ran into the 4 gold arrow rubic’s cube thing. I could ‘t finish the game. Some of us don’t have the patience to puzzle it out and we can’t finish. There should be a panic option to bypass and still finish the game. When this happens the game is no longer fun. I had the same thing happen in the first game. I regretfully will not be getting the next one. I did pass the puzzle by randomly flipping the blocks until I somehow hit the right combo. That is not a fun way to solve a puzzle. I went back later to finish the game and guess what ? My profile is gone. I am not stating from scratch so I will just delete the game. Puzzles for the sake of puzzles; immersion is lost quicklyThe game is not terrible, especially given the sort of garbage that populates the non-arcade side of the App Store. But it does not deserve five stars because it does things in a complicated way to just to be complicated. I won’t name names but there are similar games where the puzzles fit the narrative better. This game will make you pull hidden panels off every side of a wooden piece of furniture. Sure, the puzzles can be challenging (usually they tend to be busy work) but, after some time of doing it, the immersion is broken because it is difficult to imagine that kind of thing machined during the Renaissance..SamSBDVersion: 1.0.3

Fabulous game with a major glitchThis is an exquisite game for all the reasons others have said. I would highly recommend it but it has a major problem. Not once, but TWICE it erased my profile and all of my progress. Both times were when I stopped playing the game to do other things but left it running in the background on my phone. The fist time I slogged through half the game again, the second time I deleted it. I’ve never had a game or app have this problem and it ruined this one for me. I hope you all can fix it. IncompleteI usually don’t write reviews but a few things need to be said. One of which is that the game ends abruptly with a bad cinematograph while you just watch. (For a moment, I thought that I had done something wrong to make the game just...end) I’m quite impressed with the graphics and controls, all of which engulf you in a Da Vince universe. Top tier!I love escape games, and I regret there aren’t more of them out there. But I’m grateful for this one and its predecessor. There’s nothing to be disappointed about; it’s worth every penny! Outstanding!Absolutely one of the best apps and totally worth the price for hours of entertainment. The graphics and puzzles are levels above so many other games of this type. I love how many of the tools are hidden and you have to check out everything to find them. Being able to rotate the pieces, maneuver the parts and think in a 3D manner makes the game challenging. A Winner!I have been watching for this game for a while. It is a fascinating and entertaining mix of great graphics, puzzles, and story line. Great gameThis game is awesome. it is similar to the room series by fireproof games. I love immersive games. The only thing I would say is the animation speed. It’s a bit slow. Incredible.It’s hard to believe this game was developed to be played on your phone as the gameplay, graphics, artwork, sound, storyline, and voice-acting lead me to feel like I was playing a console game time and time again. You can clearly see the vast amount of work and effort that went into the development of the second installment of this series. Great gamesI was Kickstarter supporter first one. Missed donating to this one but this Second installment (hopefully more to come) Seem this one run smoother than the first. They are making strides from first to the second. Game ran smoothly I would says the poem was little long and slow at end I think it missed the energy or excitement of music maybe. This one has a better storyline and doesn’t leave you questioning who anyone is, why certain things are happening, and questions that I had in the first game were answered in this one. Highly recommendI love this series’ interesting and visually stimulating graphics. The puzzles are just the right difficulty. I did find that the hints got stuck once I reached the library and didn’t advance until I reached the next chapter. The mirror level was tough and tricky to comprehend from the sketch book but overall a great experience. Great gameIt took me 9 hours, 12 minutes to complete the game. The ending was so abrupt. I’m not sure what the “story” in the book at the end was about, I’m just glad I was able to skip through it. So-SoThe game graphic are truly fantastic. The puzzles are also challenging. So why three stars? After a while, it’s boring. After playing The Room (all games), I was use to a progressive resolution to an objective where all puzzles lead to that end, and all were interconnected. The puzzles here are not connected for a progressive resolution and just one puzzle after another in different rooms, different settings. Yes, you have to solve all to get to the end, but the lack of interconnection for an end result gives a feeling of beautiful graphics and a bunch of puzzles. For fun just solving puzzles, go for it. Mix of fun and frustration… not sure if it was more fun or more frustration, thoughIt’s a good game, with some improvements from the first one, but a few things could make it even better if they do a third. Good: most of the puzzles are fun, for the most part the visuals are stunning, it was worth the price to buy as it provided many hours of entertainment over the span of a couple of days. I don’t regret the purchase and will probably buy another. The clues are also much improved from the first edition, with the exception of Chapter 6. Chapter 6 is where it fell apart a bit, in my opinion. Is it as good as the Room series? No, I don’t think so, but pretty darn close. It’s heads and tails above most of the escape room type puzzle games you can find in the App Store. Areas for improvement: 1) Too many finicky mechanical puzzles (especially Chapter 6… the Rubik’s cube one for example) that required too much fiddling for way too long, for very little payoff. Even when you knew the answer and knew exactly what you had to do, the execution of it stumped me. If not for YouTube and a few well written cheats, I would have deleted the game before getting to the end because I had hit too many blockers in the last chapter that I was never going to execute on my own. If there had been only one or two, it would have been find, but Chapter 6 it was just one after another after another where you were like, “seriously? Again?” I don’t enjoy a puzzle where I’ve solved it mentally but now it comes down to basic mechanics that I just can’t get the right movements for. Not fun at all, really needed a way past those ones when I’d spent so much time on it already and was getting nowhere. 2) The “story” was too long and draggy at times… so much ‘talking’ for absolutely no reason and honestly, I couldn’t follow half of it anyways so I didn’t really care. No way to skip the very long and uninteresting story at the end, I still don’t know what the point of it was other than to irritate because I couldn’t just skip and read the words like I could in most of the other places where there was so much talking. 3) Clues. Much better than the first game, but sorely lacking later in the game. My biggest gripe is that many times it’s describing things like “look at the whatchamacallit over by the thingamabob” and assumes the player knows what a whatchmacallit and a thingamabob are, but nowhere does it ever tell you “this is a whatchamacallit” so when the clue is referencing it like that, it means absolutely nothing to me. 4) Some visuals… again, much improved from the first game, but a few spots in the game, it was too busy or I thought I was looking at a dead end and it turned out it was a corner that didn’t look like a corner, or things like that. Not nearly as many places like this as in the first, but a few places where I was totally stumped because I could not tell what I was looking at and turned out it wasn’t a bench, it was a corner, or something like that. OVERALL: Worth buying, no regrets, but I could not have gotten to the end of the game without some walk throughs on the internet and someone actually providing me the solution to solve of the puzzles in the form of, “click up twice, left once, down, etc.” so I could actually move on..Killerwhaletank7Version: 1.0.9

Great Game!The house of DaVinci series could be considered as one of the greatest room escape games. Kind of a letdown after the first game...To be fair, I’m only in the first chapter, but coming fresh off the previous game, it’s a little disappointing. There was real immersion the minute you got in, because you had no idea where you were, who you are, why you’re there, etc. While the identity part of that isn’t possible in a sequel like this, the fact that you get a whole map with a time and date kind of ruins it. Another immersion issue: the graphics are just... bad. So much worse than the last game, no question. The first had real definition in everything, there was a shine to the metal, a grit to the dirt, and every brick felt like something you could reach out and touch if you gave it a little more. But here? It’s like plastic everywhere, nothing is defined and pixels bleed into each other as you look around. It almost feels like you guys stopped caring. Game is great - when it doesn’t crashThe game itself is easily worthy of 5 stars, but I’m having trouble actually getting the game to open without crashing. I downloaded it last night and played for an hour or two without trouble. When I tried to open it again later, it would only progress me to the point of choosing my name and then the next loading screen before the app crashes and closes. I tried it 6-7 times before it actually loaded. It’s now doing the same thing again today - except now I can’t find the “sweet spot” to make it load again. I restarted my phone and the game no longer “crashes” on the loading screen 6-7 times before working, it simply stops doing anything and freezes on the loading screen until I force quit the app. I cannot make it run at all, regardless of how many times I force quit and try again. Nowhere near as good as Episode II played the first Episode several times, and was always impressed with its logic, functionality and beauty. Episode II has the beauty, but the logic simply stinks. A pale imitation of The RoomThe controls are frustrating at the best of times; you drag your finger across the screen to move an object but instead rotate your view, and vice versa. I got to a point where I was moving parts of a puzzle and suddenly lost the control of moving the parts and instead all I can do is move the view around. I closed it and came back; still can’t move the pieces that I need to. I decided to choose “Restart Chapter” from the menu, figuring it would take me back to the beginning of the room I was in, but it took me back so far, like a couple hours worth of gameplay. Having played all The Room games, going through this game is hard to take as everything about it is just a little bit worse; less clever, more frustrating.
