Can’t add receipt to rewards? Not all menu options available?Unlike other great fast food apps, the fact that you can’t add a receipt to your rewards after sale is absolutely ridiculous. Couldn’t order through the app because a cherry dipped cone my daughter wanted wasn’t an option. Yet, they’re available at the location I patronized. So, when I got there I forgot to have them scan the my rewards barcode at the drive-thru. Mainly because DQ idiotically gives you ice cream first, when you order regular food, instead of last. So, you know, trying to keep the melting ice cream from getting all over the place was a higher priority. The almost 5 star ranking is beyond stupid. All menu options aren’t available for locations even when they have them and no after the fact receipt adding. Yeah… I’d rate the app high too. Sarcasm..Onedog24Version: 2.6.0
App Freezing IssuesJust gotta get this out of the way: some of y’all are really dumb coming on here and complaining about your order issues from a particular store, or that a certain item was not available, or how long your wait was…etc. That is NOT the app’s fault! 🙄 That’s your specific store location’s issue. Add your review to that specific DQ’s location on Google reviews, not the freaking App Store. The app creators cannot fix your 20 minute wait or some poor customer service - SMH 😑
Anyway, with the APP itself, I’ve noticed that when I click on a notification (like a new deal is available that week, for example) and it directs me to the app, the app freezes on the blue loading screen and never pulls up the rest of the app to use and you have to kill it. And then even after killing it and opening it back up, it still doesn’t load to actually use the app - it just stays frozen on the blue loading screen. I actually just deleted the app and re-installed it to try and get that to work, and it asked me to login. So I did, but now it’s permanently loading on the login screen and won’t put me through to the app. So I think it just needs some performance & bug fixes somewhere..Doofer238Version: 3.1.14
Its ok but missing optionsIt is genuinely mind boggling how genuinely senseless most of these reviews are. The reviews are for the app itself!! Not the restaurant you’re buying from!! The app developers are not responsible for cold food or your Blizzard being hollow or taking too long to make your order. Common sense truly isn’t common anymore.
Anyway - the app itself is fine. I like the points program, just wish that there were more options to choose from. The deals are typically pretty bad and don’t offer much. Never had any issues with ordering in the app in general except for one reoccurring issue - half the time, the options that are offered in store (and this applies for multiple DQ’s I’ve ordered from or been to, not just one), aren’t offered on the app. In my case, you can’t choose root beer as a drink nor sprinkles on sundaes. You can always ask when you’re actually at the restaurant, but wouldn’t it be easier for everyone involved to just have the options in the app?

Question about APPWe have been buying $50 Dairy Queen gift cards at Giant Eagle for many years. That not only gets us the delicious Dairy Queen treats that everyone in our family loves, but a few cents from Giant Eagle for gas purchases. However when I ordered through my app it would only take a credit card, not a gift card. I was not happy about that. I think the app needs a section where you can communicate what you have to say, not just choose the option that Dairy Queen gives you. My example is we always get a peanut butter parfait with chocolate ice cream. In spite of ordering that on the phone last time, we got the standard parfait with vanilla ice cream. Since my fiancé has been getting these for several years, he didn’t take the time to look at his order until he got home. He was extremely disappointed, and I felt that we should’ve had a way to avoid that. DQ in Mountain Home ArI have never had a worse experience at any DQ. They were out of ice cream.. oh well spent $55 to feed my family. Went to drive up said mobile orders could only be picked up inside. Ok. Went in finally got someone to help since nobody was at the counter. After telling them my order stood around for 35 minutes not exaggerating. Got our food finally and it was all cold except for cheese curds. Chicken fries burgers all cold. Then the burgers had the wrong toppings. Not going back in it was already a huge ordeal.
Not one single time did someone apologize for the extreme wait. Horrible customer service entirely. You probably think we’ll they were busy but nope 2 cars in drive up and 2 people in the restaurant when we arrived. Saw at least 7 workers who all seemed to have no idea what to do. Terrible experience and obviously terrible management to not even apologize for the ridiculous wait.

The crew was awesomeI made an app order to use the buy something get an 85¢ small blizzard. The downside was that the app didn’t reflect the discount until the checkout page. So I wasn’t sure the discount was going to work for a moment.
We ordered 2 blizzards. Waited a bit and walked in. One of the crew is wrapping up a blizzard like one we ordered. He says ‘salted Carmel truffle?’ Yep that’s us…. Well, it wasn’t it was another customer’s. That’s what we ordered! And didn’t know something was wrong until I asked about the other blizzard in the order. D’oh. They didn’t miss a beat and fixed up the other customer. I apologized profusely for intercepting the order. A moment later, they said ‘mobile order?’ And that was ours. No way to personalize cakes - Can’t scan receiptThe app directs you to a DQ Cakes website if you want to write something on a cake. Because the website was so confusing it was easier to drive to the store and order the cake. I prepaid for the cake and the store was very helpful and held it several hours because I didn’t have enough space in my freezer. The store told me I could use my app to scan the receipt to get rewards credit.
Three days later I scanned a receipt for 2 dilly bars purchased when the cake was picked up. I then tried to scan the receipt for the cake and got a message I had exceeded my daily scan limit. Great customer service but 2app down sideAlways awesome customer service, willing to help and assist you with any order at this store. they answer any questions you have, even if it is with the online app. The app is so weird to me, it doesn’t let you choose if you wanted the chocolate or vanilla ice cream. The second downside is that it doesn’t give you all of the add in options. So I ordered a blizzard and wanted to add snickers into it but it was not an option that was given to add in. It only gave like 5 different ones to add on. However because the Hartford, South Dakota store was amazing and was happy to assist me get the blizzard I had been thinking about all week long while i was trying to stay on my gym new years resolutions. First App order for pickup to eat inHow convenient to figure out what a 3 year old (and I ) want for lunch and order right before I left the house. Cost wise—better than McD’s for what you get! Order was ready, except for the kids ice cream cone (and I admit—nothing worse than trying to get a little kid to eat food with an ice cream staring at them, so being able to delay that is a huge plus! My shake was in the fridge, ready for me at my convenience. The staff member greeted me and told me some things that were available for kids meals to consider, for my next visit (which will be soon!) she was super-nice & helpful! Treated with respect and food was great!We eat at many DQ’s and the DQ in Canton South is our favorite. No matter how busy they are the take the time to help you in a pleasant and friendly manner. The prices a reasonable and I’ll take one of their sandwiches and fries any day over Micky D!
Our kids and now our grandkids love to go there. We eat first then get ice cream! Sometimes we buy a cake and take it home. The kids that work there work for peanuts and get harassed a lot and the still smile and help each other on big orders and difficult customers. They know who they are! GoodI like the app but my problem is , it works good when I’m at home and then when I get to Dairy Queen and it’s only like 5 minutes away the app doesn’t work so I can’t show the cashier the coupon or anything , but when I pulled up to place my order it was there and then when I got to the window the app froze but the lady was nice and gave me my order with the discount but if this keeps happening it will be useless and it happen twice already the first time I didn’t even place the order because it wouldn’t come up at all , and I don’t even hit the confirm button until I’m in the parking lot , because I know that you only have a certain amount of mins to claim your discount. Great ServiceOn August 10, 2023 at approximately 9:42 PM, I made an order for a combo and a drink. Once I realized that they closed at 10 o’clock I called the store to try to cancel my order. When I spoke to the young lady about my reason for canceling, she said there was no problem whatsoever, and that they would have my meal hot and ready for me when I got there. My wife picked up the order and the order was as promised. The fries were crunchy and hot. The burger was hot and delicious. Won’t be back to this locationThe people here are very rude. I placed a mobile order and it was pouring rain. The young girl at the drive-through told me that I needed to circle back around because my order had not pulled up yet. I circled back around the drive-through and when I pulled up, she said I told you you needed to come inside to pick up your order. She was very rude and again it was pouring rain and I had my newborn son in the back seat and explain to her that I was coming through the drive-through for that purpose so that I did not have to get him out in the rain. She said well the next time you need to make sure that you listen to my instructions and you need to figure out how to order appropriately in the app and do a drive-through order instead of a pick up inside order, this is the second time I have dealt with someone being rude at this location. Previously, they had forgot to make my order and I was sitting in the drive-through for nearly 10 minutes and had to blow my horn to get someone to come back to the window and told them that they were missing half of my order. Clearly, they need to get their stuff together and be more careful about who they hire or get a new manager that is going to take care of this and not allow their staff to be rude to their customers. I will not be back to this location in Athens, Tennessee again. I will go to the dairy barn or the grocery store before I ever step foot back on this property..Bug KKVersion: 3.2.3
Not a good experienceI placed my order online and was told it would be ready at a certain time. I get there at that time and not only is the order not ready, it hasn’t been started. I initially placed the order to pick it up through drive-through but when I saw the line was around the building, I went inside And I should have known that they were having issues when the cashier took the guests order in front of me, and then immediately after giving him his change went into the kitchen to become the cook. I would not have had an issue with a lot of this because I understand the business and The employees on were trying their best despite being overwhelmed, but the problem I had was that I paid extra for the large cheese curds, and when I was finally handed my order almost a half hour after the expected time I was getting ready to leave when I checked the bag to make sure everything was there and they were missing. Trash Can Hands and such not great friendly peopleI went through the drive-thru on 9/13. We had ordered two blizzards. Thank goodness I got to the window to watch them being made. The young lady pulled out a trash can, then crawled on the floor and after all that made our blizzards. Not washing her hands nor did she put on gloves. There was a nice young lady who handed me the blizzards and I told her I didn't want them. She said she would redo. She put gloves on to make but meanwhile the entire staff came out to look at us. I could read a boy's lips who was a cook but I won't put it in my review. The nice girl who I can only describe as having a nose piercing went to the front and another girl who was wearing a red shirt just opened the window, turned the blizzard upside down which these were the only good parts of our interactions with her. She closed the window as I was asking for spoons and napkins. I tapped on the window which seemed to bother her and asked for those items. She gave us our spoons and 1 yes 1 napkin and again shut the window so fast I couldn't even get a word out.

STILL can’t log in … since MayI haven’t been able to log in since an update to the app in May. I have tried reach out to DQ’s customer service and they told me I created my account by connecting it to my Facebook account and I should use that option to log in. I’ve been trying that but it still takes me though the steps of creating a new account when it comes back to the app from trying to log in via Facebook. When I enter my info to “verify it’s correct” it tells me that the phone number is already in use. I explained this to DQ’s customer service and they told me not to create a new account. I’m not trying to, that’s just the only option it gives when it comes back from “logging in via Facebook”. I have a couple thousand points that I can’t access. I can’t set up a new account either because I only have one phone number and it says it’s already in use. Maybe add an option to let people login using their phone number or something, too. Or a way to recover/reset your password if you created your account by connecting it to your Facebook account. I am SO frustrated and have been a loyal DQ customer for years. Just go through the drive throughOrdering in the app for curbside pickup was pretty easy. But then when I got to the store I sat in the curbside parking space for 8 minutes waiting. I tried calling the number for the store as shown on my order confirmation, but nobody answered, and after about 15 rings it said the mobile customer I’m calling is not available. Waited 2 more minutes and looked the phone number up on Google (same number) and called again, still no answer. I saw an employee walking toward my car with nothing but her cell phone in her hand. She asked if I had a mobile order. I said yes. She asked for my name. At this point, I’ve been sitting in one of the three curbside pickup spots for 12 minutes and there hasn’t been a single other car show up, much less another one the same color as mine that I indicated on the order. So I don’t know what the confusion was about, but she told me it’s ready and went to get it. She came back and forgot the drink. By the time I had my denture order, I had been there for 15 minutes. I WISH I could give it 0 stars!!!DQ Southaven was the WORST! I placed an on line order. The system generated a ready time 10:15pm. I get there at 10:14 the drive-thru is closed. I go inside there's 2 people in front of me that placed their order at the restaurant. The 1st person had multiple orders, the 2nd person placed her order then I tell her I had an online order. Part of the first order is complete then the cashier asks about my order she turns and the cook continues to work then the 2nd part of the 1st order is complete the customer leaves my order is placed under the warming light and the cashier continued to work on the second order after 9 minutes of this cashier walking in circles I finally got my order the cashier never speaks passed me my order and turns around. CheatedDidn’t get the right amount of scoops for a large heath blizzard again! I have 5 to 7 a week. So I know when I have been short scooped. Three out of 5 are usually shorted sometimes 3 or 4 are short scooped out of 6 a week. Sometimes I have 7 a week if I’ve had a bad week. At least 4 or 5 get shorted! I was told a large gets 3 or 4 scoops to a large. There have been times when I only received one scoop for a large. By the time my husband gets home with it. It’s to late to complain . That’s why I’m finally complaining! I’m like a alcoholic but I don’t drink, I am addicted to blizzards. I love Heath Blizzards with hot fudge sauce.

Young Dairy Queen Staffer has a Nasty attitudeI ordered on the mobile app at 3:20 PM and while waiting in the drive thru for about 6 minutes. I was finally helped. The young lady asked me for my order and I said to her that I had an order for Phyllis. She apparently didn’t understand me and kept calling me Willis. Finally I replied, Phyllis a little louder and she said pull around. When I approached the window this same young lady asked me if I wanted lids. I replied yes. Then after placing the lids on, she proceeded to hand me one bizzard cup. I asked her if she had a carrier. She pulled back the bizzard cup and placed both in the carrier and handed them to me with a nasty attitude. I received the carrier and said thank you, she didn’t respond. No pleased with service or app orderI ordered on the app a small Girl Scout Thin Mint blizzard. When I got there I told them I ordered on the app a small Girl Scout thin mint blizzard. The person at the drive in said a what? I repeated slowly what I said and my name Jacqueline Fitzgerald. And he said you ordered what? I started to repeat it again and another lady said I got it you ordered a sm thin mint blizzard. Yes. Poor serviceFirst time to use this app and I’m not impressed! I completed the order on the app as we were pulling into the parking lot at 4:26. I walked into DQ and it said my order wouldn’t be ready until 4:40. I thought surely it will be ready sooner since there is no one ordering anything at the counter. 2 young men working looked at me, and I said I ordered online and told them what. They promptly disappeared. The hot fudge sundae was brought out and put on the counter w/o a spoon. And the guy said I need someone to make a turtle blizzard. A girl appeared and made it, but looked at her watch and stuck it under the counter and disappeared. A 2nd girl came in and was looking around like she wasn’t sure what to do. My husband asked if she could get the turtle blizzard out from under the counter, which she did. Mobile order wait too longPlaced a mobile order and arrived before we needed to pick it up. I noticed my ice cream had already been prepared so it was put into a refrigerator. The first item they prepared was the chicken strip basket. It was made with fries instead of onion rings. None of the other items were ready, when the chicken was ready and the onion rings came up, they were sitting on the counter under the heat lamp, and the other items hadn’t come out. I asked to have those two items so we could start eating. When my husband finished his chicken and he went back to the counter to see where his fries and my chicken strips were. Service is disjointed and haphazard.

Good luck trying to find a store that accepts the app or if it does, it’s “currently out of order.”I’ve been all over the US, most recently Colorado, Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota, Montana... and no store I’ve visited has the capability take the app and the one store I was at in Minnesota, said it was “out of order” and couldn’t accept any coupons from the app or redeem any rewards. How is this helpful? I emailed to request a list of stores that will take the app, and was told Dairy Queen doesn’t have that information and it is often up to each individual store. Why go through all of this if so few stores can accept the app? It’s a disgrace to Dairy Queen as a whole, a disservice to the poor stores that can’t take it and seems to really tick of customers who go to a Dairy Queen thinking they can take the app. This is the only app I have where stores have no clue what I’m talking about with this app or flat out don’t accept it. The back staff however making the treats ( red hair) was the rudest person I ever encountered. I asked if sprinkles could be added to the strawberry sundae as the ap doesn’t allow you to add that and she snapped “ you have to pay for that”. I said that’s fine. She said go talk to him at the register and turned away. I went to him but he didn’t know how to do it. She went to get the manager who asked me if there was a problem. I explained all I wanted was sprinkles and I was happy to pay for it . He told me it would be $1.06, I paid it. Miss red hair glared at me as she completed our order. Don’t waste your time, just use the drive throughThe net effect of this app was essentially nil. Despite ordering ahead through the app, I still had to wait in the drive-through. After going to the drive through I still had to go through the window and the pull aside forward and wait for my food. The food order was not started until I pressed the “I’m here” button which, foolish me, I did when I arrived at the restaraunt. The reason given was to make sure my order was fresh. The actual result is that there is no time saved using this app.
If the app had a funtion that indicated whether your location has walk in or requires pick up at the drive through it might be of some value. Unfortunately my local Dairy Queen has no signage indicating how to collect your order once you have use the app. Furthermore, it is apparent that the people who are attending the drive through are not very familiar with the app, though that may be a problem unique to my location.

Employee ZERO help with AppI tried to use the app to order at ‘my’ store but couldn’t find chicken tenders - went in and they said their store does not have hot meals - just pretzels and some other items. So I switched stores on the app - I added the half price offer for a chicken tender meal and ordered the meal but no discount was applied. RipoffDon't bother claiming your deal until you are in the act of showing it to the cashier. We placed our order and right as we approached the cashier I accepted the deal (it had to be used within 15 minutes) but before I could show it to the cashier a notification came through on my phone which caused the deal to go away and the app would not allow it to be opened again. Cashier didn't believe the deal when we explained what happened. Contacted DQ online and they suggested I make sure the app was up to date (we downloaded the app while in line before placing our order!) UghGot through making an order and then had a pop up that said currently they weren’t doing curbside at this location even though it was an option for me to select BEFORE I went through and created an order. Why wouldn’t you let me know that before I take the time to create the order. THEN I had to go back and select the option to walk in and get the mobile order and recreate the order. Unhappy with information and appThe employee at the window was very nice and helpful! When I tried to order the mini blizzard for 85 cents, the app kept giving me the message this offer is not valid on this order. When I drove through and asked at the speaker if I could order 2 mini blizzards for 85 cents each I was told that the offer was only good in the mobile app. I removed everything in my order and started over. Was ok until…I enjoyed using the app until I started to notice too many nuisances with the whole point system. You want to scan to earn points, forget it, you can only scan the receipt. So you go scan the receipt, “sorry you’ve reach your daily limit.” Even know it’s been 10 days since your last scan. Messed up items/orderI asked for extra topping and did not get it. I had to pay extra for that. It The Diet Pepsi and Dr. Pepper did not taste right. I asked for added onions on a burger and they added pickles which we asked to remove, and still no onions. We got the pretzels and queso with no queso dip. Never Lets You Get Your PointsThis app USED to be awesome. I never had issues entering my receipts to make sure I got my points- now I rarely ever get to claim them. IF YOU VISIT DQ MORE THAN ONCE A WEEK BEWARE- APP WILL BLOCK YOU FROM GETTING YOUR POINTS. The app gives an error message saying “you’ve reached your limit on daily receipts scans” or something similar and it does this for an entire WEEK after submitting one receipt, not just for one day or 24 hours. I have no idea who’s behind the coding for this, but customer service and app developers are aware of this issue, and do nothing to fix it. Wrong EverythingWe ordered via the app thinking it would be more smooth and efficient this way. Will not let me log inI previously had this app on my phone but then deleted it because I rarely used it. I reinstalled it to make an online order and tried to sign in. Signed in through Facebook and it took me through a “sign up” process. When I got to the end, it told me my phone number was already taken. Reset my password and it took me through the same “sign-up” process which ended with the same error. Rude workersWhen I got my items I opened them up as I always do to make sure that they are correct before I leave the store. And two of the three blizzards were not even full so I asked the young lady behind the counter if she could go ahead and actually fill up our ice cream cups for us. Ice cream machine always brokenAbout once a month I like to surprise my kids and take them to get blizzards at the DQ a few minutes from our house. On several occasions once we arrive we are informed that the ice cream machine is “down”. The Dairy Queen can’t seem to keep their dairy machine working. This seems ridiculous and is super annoying, inconvenient and disappointing for me and my kids. If this only happened once or for a short period of time it would be understandable. However it seems to happen about 2/3 of the time. More often than not they have not had ice cream at this location. Horrible untimely serviceI ordered my food through the app. showed up 5 minutes after it was supposed to be ready. I sat at the menu board for a few minutes and was never acknowledged so I drove around to the window where I sat a few more minutes all the while 4-5 employees were aimlessly wandering around or playing on their phones (I’m the only car in the drive through and there’s a group of girls eating inside, a few families outside, definitely not busy) Someone finally opened the window and asked what I ordered, without another word he shut the window. Restaurant was filthyTypically we go through the drive thru but today decided to go in. Big mistake. The restaurant was filthy. The area behind the counter was disgusting with ice cream just setting in the tray under the ice cream machine, the ingredients added to the blizzard were all open and much of it spilled on the counter top, dried up brown pieces of bananas were left to rot on the counter top and that is the areas in view of the customer. I found out why “Deals” tab doesn’t work.First off, the original app was way better. This one always glitches. I have seen many other reviews with the same problems I have and the developer responses are ridiculously unhelpful.
The “Deals” section always shows an error message and I found out why. It’s because I am not in a close proximity to a DQ restaurant. Once I get closer to one, the deals tab finally works. They need to change this so people that are not close to a DQ can check the app in advance for good deals.
This part is worse though. I used a blizzard coupon of “BOGO for 1.99”. I bought three blizzards: 2 x size Med, one Snack size for my daughter. When their system calculated the discount it specifically took the lower discount by reducing this cheaper snack blizzard to be only 1.99, and did not take the discount off the second medium blizzard. It was a difference of only saving $2, when I should have been able to save $4. Yah it’s small, but the principle behind this tells me that they are not looking out for the customer first. C’mon DQ, where is the integrity in that? When people use your coupons they are always going to be trying to get the maximum fair benefit possible within the coupon stipulations. This just rubbed me the wrong way as a shady business practice. When I asked the cashier why the discount was so low, she just replied “sorry that’s just the way it is”.
