IMPC Pro 2 for iPhone App Comments & Reviews

IMPC Pro 2 for iPhone Positive Reviews

Finally an iPhone version!!First of all I have always loved Akai in general. Their hardware has spawned some of the best genres we love today. Also in my opinion, Akai in collaboration with great producers, have amazing samples. I’m just a huge fan of the sounds that Akai has in their arsenal, along with the sound packs from partners. I love the new iPhone version of pro 2. The only complaint I have is I cannot seem to get any 3rd party FX to open in the app. There are also a few Inter app audio applications that show up but won’t register. Idk if it is bc it’s a feature that is newer and Akai has a few kinks to wrk on, or I’m just doing something wrong. Also saving some of my wrk has been a little tedious. However I’m sure with future updates these few problems will be addressed. Other than that I’m very satisfied with my purchase. Especially getting it half off!! I look forward to see what Akai does next..Version: 2.0.1

Dumb old man friendlyI’ve downloaded and purchased quite a few “iDaw’s”?,…? and this one, for me anyways, was and still is the most user friendly and stupid~assistive/tolerant apps I’ve come across, I’m still learning shttuff daily and not even near bored with it. That’s a super plus because generally if I can’t figure it out quick enough or it makes me feel like I should go get my geritol and take a nap, I’m deleting it Quick like. This lil beauty kept and keeps my attention and the learning curve isn’t a 90* angle, never thought I would learn as much about “music production” and diggin it all the while,…..what??!,… oh,…..medication time ms. Ratchet? OK.Version: 2.1.4

They don’t want you using you using your own samplesThis app is awesome except, like other users have noted, it doesn’t have the *standard* ability to connect to your Dropbox or AudioShare libraries. You have to do everything through their “AudioCopy” app which is basically their store for samples. There are a few steps and you can import your own samples, but you have to open a *different app*, then import your sample into that app, then go back to iMPC and import your sample from their secondary app.... basically cutting you off from your own library, because you aren’t going to want to repeat this process every time you want to grab one of your samples. Just let us connect to our own libraries as expected. Let your great software speak for itself and make sales, don’t put up this in-app-purchase roadblock where we have to re purchase sounds to have any ease of use. It’s a great software, but if you like using your own sounds, look elsewhere for now..Version: 2.0.1

I’m pretty happy. So I had the original, the pro2 on my iPad which I never open. I downloaded this in hopes of it being stable and it having a quick learning curve as the track/ program or sequence or whatever baffled me and that’s the reason I put it on the back shelf. To my surprise and super relieved self this version clicked. I get it now and I’m stoked. This is much different than what I’ve been using in my iOS set of machines lately. IMPC Pro2 has a different movement and sound than my beloved GR16, Wave, Seek, ED, and the mighty set of Bram’s machines. This has easily fit nicely into my workflow and I’m happy about it. Of. Of course there are things that bug me about the iMPC but hey, this is iOS here and I’ll use whatever seem to 1st: Be extra fun to play with, and 2: Achieving good result. I’m accomplishing both on the pro2 for iPhone. Good stuff..Version: 2.0.1

I likeWorks great fro what it is making beats on the go instead of being stuck on the gram and I just save a project file and can open on the mpc x later and finish up👍🏽 only thing I would like to see is to be able to use the Splice app without hopping between apps and have to save to device then transfer to audio paste and then finally able to load up on the pads it gets annoying but like I said works great for what it is which is a phone app..Version: 2.1.2

Feeling turned quickI was super excited to come across this. I gave it a few days before I found my self here. But the first day I was already upset with this the import section. The only reason I wasted as much time on this app as I did was trying to get my personal drum kits and samples into the program. A simple drop box function would fix this and make this program 5 stars. I don’t want to re-record a file I want the same Quality at the original file. Honestly I’m mad I wasted my money this is not for a real producer. I don’t want your sounds I want my own..Version: 2.1.4

Great little app!Wanted to use this for mobile work but it is just a gimmick. So clunky and buggy. The workflow is a joke and I am an experienced mpc user. If you want something to play around with it is ok but good luck trying to use the packs they sell. Update: joke is on me or rather i am the joke. after i got the workflow down a bit this thing is awesome for the price. Is it an mpc live? Well no but it is usable and is a fraction of the cost. Just wrote some great music with it after learning the sound assignment system..Version: 2.1.4

Crashes when trying to edit sounds from Audiopaste :-(I went through sooo much work to figure out how to get my everyday recordings into iMPC as I’m not going to whip out the entire app just to record a sound, it’s inconvenient and drains your battery. So I finally get all my sounds into audiopaste, a horrible decision on inter-app partnership, but what do I know maybe that’s the only company doing that sort of thing. I can get the sounds loaded onto the pads but when I click “Edit sound” the app instantly crashes every time. This app is so close to being great I just hope it doesn’t end up abandoned like the last version..Version: 2.1.2

Product reviewI gave the product 4of5 stars because the sound quality is just a bit under iMaschine. But, it makes up for that with the product offerings that are reasonably priced. IMaschine doesn’t offer many updates sound titles so edge goes to IMPC2. The amount of tracks vs IMaschine, edge again here. Overall a very big leap from the first one. Own this market and tweak the sound above or at IMaschine. Great product well worth buying. I really dig the ease of use..Version: 2.1

Glitch problem solved maybeSo I found out how to interapp add your instrument from other apps u have to select microphone unit then switch to inner app 84 phase then it works I have been with Akai since the beginning so I have played with the beat machine a lot and learned a bunch of twerks.Version: 2.1.2

Great app - Terrible file support - Not universalYou are have to go thru their ‘store’ and load via a very awkward interface. You should be able to access your libraries automatically within the program and wherever you decide to keep them, like iMaschine or any number of other audio apps. This isn’t rocket science, it’s lazy programming. You also, in effect, have to buy this TWICE if you want to use it full featured on iPad..Version: 2.0.1

A bug in the systemThis app was A-1. By far the best. There has been an issue with the latest Apple update that causes it to not sync up with your iTunes account. For that I give it a 1 star. Other than that, this was my favorite app.. Updated : the bug seems to be fixed and I’m loving iMPC.Version: 2.1.2

AkaiThe leader in the industry, wow. I am sincerely impressed with the use the use ability and compatibility. So easy to use and understand. Tons of extra content available. Satisfied customer, to say the least, a repeat customer..Version: 2.1.7

Please add 3D Touch velocityI love this, but there are actually two things I want. First off, you could add support for 3D Touch velocity, since this is an iPhone-specific port. That would bring the feel and functionality of the real MPC pads that we know and love, and provide a great level of human feel. Also then we could do the cool thing with beat repeat where you crescendo with pad pressure. Also, and I’ve asked for this before, there is pad layers. That is literally the only difference from the Mac/pc version. Having the ability to multi sample a drum, and have pressure or randomization chose one of four samples instead of just the one is THE BEST. PLEEEASE DO THIS!!! Love you guys.Version: 2.0.1

Good can be great if??Whom ever is responsible for this app than you people need to fix major bugs in it. Sometimes when u want to erase data during playback they won’t erase at times. The samples just cut out when trying to lay a sample across drums the sample is suppose to last 4 measures and it stops at 1 1/2.... good app if bugs weren’t ruining it Sent from my iPhone.Version: 2.1

Pleaseeee Fix the sampler!!!!When I’m trying to chop my samples in the grid it seems like the slightest movement up or down resets all my samples back to how they were before I started dragging them. I’ve been trying to sample this clip for like 30 minutes but every time I get a few cuts I want, they all reset. Please just make the audio wave bigger wider or something so this can’t happen! Or fix the bug itself!.Version: 2.1

Hands down my go to drumsThe first iMPC was cool but I never made anything not dj Sounding with it. With iMPCpro2 i make music. I use it live from my iPad/iPhone when it’s a surprise loop sets and solo guitar to producing hood rat beats for my friends. Now with I phone u can literally have a studio in your pocket..Version: 2.0.2

ITunes importNow that iTunes is gone you can not import your own samples. There is a ton of bugs to work out in this app. Projects can’t be named and others. Keep your money until it’s fixed..Version: 2.1

Difficult to use but good! The learning curve is not so easy on this app... i wish Retronyms could eliminate all the bugs from the iPhone version cause sometimes the glitches are distracting and frustrating. Nonetheless is a cool app for sampling and programing drums!!.Version: 2.0.2

Akai lovers get this appHello Akai makers, I have the both iMPC app and the iMPC pro 2 app and I love them both. I made lots of songs on the iMPC and I would like to take those songs and edited them on the IMPC pro 2 app. Is there a way you can make that happen?.Version: 2.0.2

Heres some improvements ideas1. allow to drag time in timeline 2.fixed monitor recording only hearing sound from the left earpiece 3.make the wave form screen more wider when recording a sample 4. maybe 60 sec recording? overall this app is 10x way better than the original impc app but i hope some good updates come along PEACE✌️.Version: 2.0.1

Thankful that updates are still being madeLove the app The update solves some major issues but lost the ability of 16 level tuning sounds. Awesome app worth the pocket change 🙏🙌✌️.Version: 2.1.2

I was playing smash when i got the notification of availabilityCouple glitches while playing long samples but other than that kept me distracted from my switch for a while without even me noticing so giving props for that.Version: 2.0.1

ChuckHey i like the app but it would be so cool if we could link the impc pro 2 on ipad n iphone together n mpc live i show be able to send the beat on my phone to my ipad or mpc life is like the iphone have i cloud Account so I use that account for my iPhone and iPad so so anytime I make it beatson my iPhone Automatically is on my iPad.Version: 2.1.4

Mac hipsterEasy to use and sample everything with..Akai really stepped it up with this product.I feel like Charles Hamilton and now I got all the white women asking me to make a song about them okey dokey will do it right now...Version: 2.1

MPC for me!Love the ability to make great music with this app I can dump it all into my MPC daw and use my mpk mini with it I’m crazy with it Akai needs to feature me on their platforms! I’ll show em how it’s done! Super dope app! Kudos!!!!.Version: 2.1.4

CrashingWhenever you chop a sample the app crashes. I’m patient because I know there was a new iOS update and you all have to update your app to match the new iOS for the iPhones..Version: 2.1.7

Wack,...I have a iPad . It’s not as good as the iPad version and now I have to wait until I can afford to buy it. Super upset . Really wish I knew there are two versions ....Version: 2.1.2

Man!!Why do I gotta buy the same sound packs twice on my audio copy..I have iPhone and iPad with both versions of impc2 on them and when I buy sounds it don’t unlock on both..I just paid for 5 sound packs cause the deal and it’s unlocked on my iPad but not iPhone.Version: 2.0.1

Key groupGreat app however it doesn’t have a key group without either having to create an entire program for 1 instrument to utilize it through pads or you can only use audio units... Will give a 5 star and would even consider advertising this app....Version: 2.1

Big upgrade for first versionI love it! Easy to use. I use as drum loop during our church services. Keeps everyone in time which makes me happy..Version: 2.1

Love itI love it because I was still using the iMPC for iPhone then I seen this and this a lot better I’m just trying figure things out but overall I love it.Version: 2.0.1

Please update! This is one of my favorite iPad music apps, but they need to add mappable transport control’s and the use of Au3 fX and audio plug-ins. That’s the only thing I find myself missing from the workflow..Version: 2.1.4

Massive improvementThe most powerful sampler on the go. Big improvements over the last version.Version: 2.0.1

Hottest outThis the best reliable company software made ever, the production work is outstanding and smooth. I would recommend to everyone..Version: 1.0

Great ImprovementI’ve been waiting for this to drop on the iPhone. Big improvement from the first one.Version: 2.0.1

Not bad!I would love to have the files sync with iCloud so that I can import them into Logic Pro..Version: 2.1.2

Fun but laggy/buggyApp is too slow on iPhone. Sampler seems like a lot of fun but the lag makes it difficult to tell if my samples are too sloppy or not. Like I said, a lot of fun, just not very intuitive for someone trying a sampler for the first time..Version: 2.0.1

MPC BeatsHave you guys ever thought about making this into MPC Beats free version and add iap to it? Would make a lot of sense especially with how powerful IPads are becoming..Version: 2.1.8

Auv3 Connection errorWhen attempting connect to the app “Magic Switch” by Baby Audio I receive an error connection message. PLZ HLP.Version: 2.1.7

Impc pro itunes turntable not workingOverall solid program, but itunes wont respond with the turntable sampler. Still waiting for them to update for months. Hopefully it gets fixed soon..Version: 2.1

Surprisingly powerfulReally fun app doods I use it everyday 💚.Version: 2.1.4

Fix upI downloaded the app a couple weeks ago and it’s been a challenge. The good; the app looks great, handy tutorials and for someone who is just getting started it’s visually appealing and user friendly. The bad; I can not sample from iTunes (on iphone) AND when I get samples from Spotify I’m forced to use some random 30 secs from the song. I’m able to make it work, but’s annoying..Version: 2.1.8

Great funI love the way this makes the mpc a bit more quick to move around on and more visual. Great teaching tool. Though no ability to paste a sound to a pad is pretty bogus..Version: 2.1.7

The best Daw ever. This program allows me to do whatever is I can think of. Extremely fun and easy to use. It has reignited my love for music production..Version: 2.1

Fix or updateCool app but I find a lil bit of latency when hitting pads.Version: 2.0.2

Cool app..Pretty functional little app this. Could improve the inter app connection for outside fix apps.....Version: 2.0.1
