I’m just startingI’m just browsing currently. So far there have been a couple of bug issues: There was an issue making my account that I worked out and the app has already crashed on me. It would be nice if I could read reviews of the companies from people who have worked there already. The employers can review us and read our reviews. I think it’s only fair that we be able to review and read reviews of the employers as well and see how others enjoy working for them. It goes both ways with Uber. Why not this? Good and BadI’ve made about $500 from the app since June. My only issue is that if you need to withdrawal from a job it gives no confirmation to the employer. It puts you at risk for being rated low by that employer. One job I worked at 3 people didn’t show and the employer had no cancellation notices from Bacon. I spoke to one of these people and they told me they did put a withdrawal into the app but it never reached the supervisor at the worksite. This has been a known issue since September and it still isn’t fixed. The other critique I have is you will apply for some positions and not be notified if your accepted or not. This can result in lost wages waiting around for a merchant that never confirms your hired. Best temp job app!!I LOVE this app! I recommend it to all my friends. I was working an AWFUL job this last summer and ended up quitting a month before college started back up. I was stressed how I was going to earn enough money to pay tuition, given no where would hire me for only a month. Lo and behold, a friend suggested I try Bacon!! Best decision ever! The app is seriously as good as it sounds; you select a job, show up and work the shift, and get payed! Every company I’ve worked for has been awesome. This app is a great help to me!This app has been awesome for me finding work with my crazy Mom schedule. There are a few things that could be improved. Wish that I could set the distance instead of it always reverting back to 50 miles. Also wish I could search by day instead of having to scroll through all the days. I worked my first job yesterday and they wanted me to come back but there doesn’t seem to be a good way to easily reserve a spot for a certain worker. Can’t log inIt’s a great app but all of a sudden this morning I couldn’t log in and they’re saying my email isn’t linked to any accounts, so I can’t complete “forgot password” successfully. Good conceptI think this app will absolutely take off. I’ve used something similar (Jobstack by PeopleReady) and what I like about this is you don’t have to worry about getting the paper job sheet like you do with PeopleReady. It’s NOT a scamI completed a shift on May 20. Still haven’t been paid. Seems like a good idea. Only explore if you enjoy doing manual labor for free. UPDATE: I remember that guy ☝️ so young and naive. It turns out this was bad timing. I signed up and completed a shift right before they implemented Stripe, and all I needed to do to get paid was accept the terms for Stripe. Once I did that I got paid pretty quickly. Actually legitThis is the only app that has given me reliable contract work. I’ve made over a $115 on my first week on the app. The more you work the more job postings become available. If your a backup worker, you show up to your gig and the business states they don’t need you. you’ll still receive some type of payment just for driving down. Easy to use but their on some catch 22Although the app seems to be gaining traction I find it very frustrating that an employer can delete your shift after you accepted with no penalty. I think this needs to be corrected that way the workers aren’t cheated out of their money. BuggyI love the concept - and I really wanted this to work! The set up process was super buggy and kept glitching out to the point I was killing the app and starting over several times. I also clicked on stuff and it took up to 30 seconds to reflect the selections I was making. Super super slow. The other sad part is the jobs are outdated and if you aren’t looking at the date, then your wasting your time trying to apply for one that doesn’t even exist anymore - no quality control it seems like? Several concernsI like the concept, but have several concerns. First, the type of work offered is not of the independent contractor variety. It is more like employment; meaning that taxes should be taken out, workers comp should be covered, unemployment insurance taxes should be paid. Second, the Contact Support button under FAQs does not work. Third, I am getting too many notifications. I would prefer only one summary notification per day; even better, a setting that I can control how often I get notifications. Great concept, not well thought outI’m currently suspended, should lift as of today(1/3/21). I got a low score and to many withdrawals. And that’s where my issues lie. The company doesn’t get notifications that I’m withdrawing. I even texted the number to the supervisor the night I had to withdraw late. No response. I’m assuming that if you’re using this app, you have a full time job and like the money for fun or to give yourself a little walking around cash. I got a low score due to leaving after 6 hours because of a Emercancy and I was “on my phone to much”. A night shift making signs with a skeleton crew and the amount of signs I banded will say otherwise but whatever. Poor company anyways. So not that I care about the low score, but there isn’t any place where you can dispute anything. Which can cause you do be suspended for something that most people and companies don’t care about who pay less then 10 bucks an hour. ( I probably sound entitled but whatever. I’m being honest in my review. Which is why you’re reading this) if you can find a job where you’re at. They are going to be companies with high turn over rates. For whatever that may be. UNRELIABLE HELL!! - SCAM -This whole app is complete hell to deal with. The so called “bacon contacts” (or the people who developed the app and help make it run) are very unreliable and take forever to answer if you have a question or problem. After you complete a job, your account balance gets added to a payment info screen, it says “you’ll receive payments daily” and every time I’ve worked a shift, it’s sat there for at least 4 days and then finally transferred to stipe which takes another 3 days. One company that posts jobs on this app, is a place where a supervisor is very unlikely to be on time. They’ve been 3.5 hours late before, and even though we still did the work and completed the assignment, I was still rated with 1 or 2 stars from the company. Which ultimately blocked my bacon account from applying to any other jobs for “3 days”. But it’s been over 3 days now and it’s not unlocked, nobody from bacon is answering me. SAVE YOUR TIME. Invest in yourself, apply for a real job that looks good on a resume, apply for somewhere that you feel like you can be productive at and make an impact. My reviewOk so far it was ok up the stupid quiz to be honest I don’t know why you would waste time having one you don’t need it to work a job. I have took it 3 times now and watched the video 5 times. The last two times I scored a 6/7. And it’s the same question the very last one I don’t know what im missing here it could be a glitch but after I have to wait 19 mins after each one is kinda stupid as well. Since im waiting I figure I would write a review. Not worth it other apps are betterI’m almost a pro on bacon I’ve been working for them for a minute but I would not recommend this app to anyone. I’ve had so many issues with it from company’s saying I didn’t show up when they turned me away as a back up so they don’t have to pay the 15 to company’s outright refusing to pay me. It took me 2 weeks to get the money I was owed finally and it was no thanks to bacon support who is absolutely useless and takes forever to respond I had to go through the labor commission. App IssuesAs an “Elite” level worker it’s been frustrating using the Bacon app. Ever since December 2022 the app hasn’t been showing the available jobs. And when a job shows up it’s taken immediately. I go to apply and keep getting “application limit reached” or “not accepting applications”. The app lately has only been showing one or two jobs for a specific date. They’re already taken and no other alternatives. The people at “Bacon” keep apologizing for things, saying their constantly bringing new clients/ jobs on board. Yet nothing is showing. No jobsSo I live in a pretty big city and I download this app a month ago and I have yet to see any jobs pop up on the app or me being notified of any. In fact, the only jobs that pop up are a month or a couple of months old, which is strange that they are even popping up at all since they are past due. Seriously every time I check the app it’s the same five jobs that are all a month or two old that pop up and absolutely no jobs are coming through and like I said, I live in a good size city so that shouldn’t even remotely be an issue. :(This app is a great concept, and is great if you use once in a blue moon. But is a terrible app if you need some regular income. Very unreliable, I’ve been suspended for a year. I had to cancel a job because a tree fell on my car after a very bad snowstorm the night before. Called the company an hour in advance, was told that was fine, and then they banned me two hours later! Had a previous bad experience with the same company, showed up for a backup shift and they sent me away saying they’ll mark that I showed up since I couldn’t log in on the app. Surprise, they never did and I was banned. Workers BewareSo I was really excited about my first gig with Bacon. So I prepared arrived on time and ready to work. However when I arrived to my job site, the Owner/manager stated he did not request Bacon staff for that day…so he sent me home. However the app stated that he confirmed the job. Would be great but can’t get past the bugsSo many bugs I cant get started. It won’t let me past the Onboarding video even though I’ve let it play three times and successfully passed the quiz. Wont do anything without passing off all industry experience quizzes. Industry experience quizzes are full of bugs, check all that apply does not work, when clicking on begin brings up double image with start of quiz overlayed by end of quiz message saying Oops you failed, finished with one assessment only to find it did not save. There is no Home Screen to get to without getting past all this buggy garbage so no one to access to be able to work with on technical problems. Greasy & Greedy company 👎🏻It’s a good idea and helpful to do gig work in general, but not under the wrong company: Bacon is BAD. I have many reasons for this but this one is the worst.. I asked the CEO why they are underpaying their workers. I knew someone (worker at the same event) that came across a paper saying they (the clients) were going to pay the workers double than what was advertised on the Bacon app. So yeah Bacon lies to their clients, resulting in underpaying the workers. After I confronted the CEO on this matter, he didn’t reply and froze my account to where I can’t view the shifts. (I’ll even see the active shifts for 2 seconds then they disappear..) So petty. My partner and I are completely professional and you would not even know we were together. This employer was verbally harassing all of the bacon staff. Sketchy JobsApp is navigable and rules of independent contract work are made very clear. My problem lies with the places of work and job sites. My first and only site I pulled up to and was told I was actually not scheduled for that shift. I turned to walk away and was hastily asked to come back “no no no we will figure it out” said Sergio as he proceeded to ONLY take my name. 45 minutes later I’m standing in the middle of the warehouse with no indication of what to do having asked three separate times for a task. WASTE. OF. TIME.I spent HOURS just trying to get through their stupid onboarding quizzes that are required before you can even look at any job listings. These quizzes were mandatory even if you have no experience in the category or no interest in working it(I.e. bartending or catering). Each question took MINUTES to load. A true test of my patience. But I had to finish what I started, so I painfully finished all the quizzes (again, HOURS of my time) only for the job listings to have nothing within 50 miles of me, and nothing more recent than 3 months ago. Waste of time!Got introduced to this app on Indeed. Thought it was a great concept. The process it takes to get set up is daunting but understandable. But they make you take an assessment but each time you go to the next question it takes over a minute to load. At the end you have to watch and onboarding video then take a quiz. Again takes time to load to the next question. So a longer process than needed. I took the quiz 5 times because it never updated that I passed it. Do not useI worked two days through this app. The first day i got payed with no issue the second day it wouldn't let me edit my hours because earlier it didn't give me the option to end my break.. it took the company 4 days to edit my hours then another 2 to confirm it. It has been over a week and i still haven't been paid. Jobs go fastCan’t rely on the jobs available. I can get a job once every few months. Just not any options available. I open the app and barely ever see anything available. Like mostly never. But if you get one it’s straightforward work. Mostly a waste of time cause lack of jobs. Even in summer. I have used for maybe 3 years or so 25 shifts. Mostly from being reinvited after working. Can’t sign up because of discrimination.One of the boxes I couldn’t check to sign up was the conviction of a felony box. I was convicted of a felony 15 years ago and and have never been in trouble before or since. The fact that I can’t utilize a tool like a gig app to progress in life because of something in my past 15 years ago is absurd. Background checks in the state I live in don’t even go back that far.
