Another successful effort!There are quite a few groups producing games that fit into this genre, but I’ve yet to come across any that design them as well as Five BN Studios. Some of these type games have objectives and puzzles that are so obscure, they require a trip to an internet walkthrough, just to figure out WHAT you’re supposed to do…never mind HOW you’re supposed to do it. Not so with this designer’s games. The puzzles are numerous, varied and clever with just the right degree of complexity. Even the HO puzzles have mini-games layered into them which clearly indicates that a lot of thought has gone into the design. We’ll done Five BN. Ok now !So I’ve been playing these kind of games for years, so I pop in and out of the genre in between serious gaming for some fun downtime. This game was chosen based on rating and boy did it not disappoint! The story is ok to start ,to be fair I’m a tough critic and none of these type of games have a story that grabs me. WOWThis is one of the most challenging games I have played. Frustrating but rewarding at the same time. Storyline, graphics and mini games are cleverly thought out. Great job!! Kind of basicWas looking forward to this game after playing the Lost Lands series. The first few games in that series were amazing. Lots of items...lots of exploring...and challenging enough that it requires the player to THINK. But apparently, this dev is gone the way of BigFish and most other big devs...dumbing their games down so much, that almost all found items are used in the same scene. 99% of games on the App Store are made for mindless tapping. So it’s sad to see the last genre of challenging adventure games reduce down to the same mindless gameplay. There’s almost NO challenge in adventure games anymore. Very good, not their best, but not their best is still 5 starIn case you are unfamiliar with the Five BN line,this is a fantastic fantasy interactive game that combines puzzles and storyline with a few interspersed video story lines to keep the adventure going. This particular storyline is NOT their best. But. Let’s start with the positives first! Beautiful artwork and graphics. Simple to use. Games are interested and varied, but not so difficult as to keep you too frustrated to continue. There are free hints if you need. There are not many glitches and it plays smoothly on an IPad. Plot twists are fun and entertaining enough to keep you guessing as you play. I always enjoy the story line. I am a person that players for half an hour here and half an hour there, putting it down and looking forward to picking it up later and doing some puzzles. Personally, I find it relaxing and enjoyable! I know some people play to go through it all at once and that just isn’t my perspective on the game. The negatives, IMO, on THIS game, was the story was just not as tightly woven together as most of the others. The characters lacked the typical depth and believability and likability of other characters. I did not find myself empathizing with any of them. For example, in Lost Lands, you become so emerged in the characters you actually shed a tear when something bad befalls one. ( seriously. You do. And I am a grown adult here) What has made these games stand out is that you have to THINK, not just mindlessly tap a screen. THIS game was a bit more mindless than the others and I am hoping that the developer is NOT “dumbing down the game” in hopes of attracting the masses. PLEASE OH PLEASE stay true to your loyal fan base….it is why we love you so much! The plot in this game was MEH. However, the whole thing was well done enough I still granted it five stars because I look forward to my time with the game and it still has that very unique gaming experience that I have only found with Five BN games. DisappointedFIVE-BN has created some pretty awesome games but this collection has been pretty disappointing. A lot of the puzzles have been off of the screen of my phone so they’ve not been able to be completed.
