Fun but puzzlingKing’s Cross is a novel puzzle game, which I have enjoyed as a chess player. Double move bonus is not worth making any extra moves, but keeping 2 squares open near the king will generally help you be more efficient. Paid contest model makes no sense unless you are the very best player at a game (and maybe not even then). I had my first tie in Wheel today, and it turns out the winnings are split in this case, making both players net losers (I’d rather get a refund, like a push in betting). I hope there might be innovation so that it actually makes sense to keep playing paid contests. Great UI, Feels ScammyI've only played Solitaire Sprint and Block Trail. The design is great. I appreciate the clean interface in solitaire especially. They claim the games are fair but there is zero transparency. To break even you have to win 60% of your games. I've been playing solitaire for over 50 years and I'm pretty good at it but I'm right around 50%. It is impossible unless you're a genius, and even then I have doubts that anybody can get money out of. It appears the design is to prevent any withdrawals as opposed to the regular FanDuel app that is regulated and very fair. Block Trail is a really cool game on the surface. Has this relaxing music in the background. Yet when you play you're facing an antagonistic computer opponent. It does not want you to succeed and holds all of the cards so to speak. In say a regular Tetris game, all the blocks are random. Not here. It gives you the worst blocks guaranteed. Playing this game is a really bizarre experience. Not really for meIf you like going up head to head with people live this could be fun. Not really my cup of tea, but the games are fun and seamless if you don’t mind live competition. Stresses me out a little too much but nothing against the app’s design or layout. Side hustle cash?You won’t make any. The algorithms created by its developers will not allow you to walk away ahead whatsoever. Sure you might catch a wave where you’re all of a sudden up a few hundred bucks. You can cash it out right away. But don’t think for a second that will ever happen again (especially after cashing out) until you lose 3x minimum of what you cashed out prior. Then maybe you’ll catch another wave… rinse and repeat. Basically it’ll get to a point where you enter a game, if the game thinks you’ve too much lately, it’ll only place users that get a higher score than you into that particular game in turn, they win you lose. You might get the highest score you’ve ever achieved and based on previous averages of past scores, this new high score “should” beat at least 99% of other scores. Some outstanding games just for free play. Only risk money you expect to lose!The quality of some of these strategic arcade-style games is exceptional, like block trail. As always with such games, the details are key — board size, frequency/predictability of shapes, time limit, and the like. But, it is a matched system so don't bet money unless you expect to lose it!! The system automatically matches you against people of similar score history who have a good chance of beating you. In other words, imagine your scores average in the top 1% of all players...you'll be playing against another top 1% person online. If there's no one else top 1% online at that moment, you'll be up against the next best competitor available...and so on. So just because you're good doesn't mean you're gonna win all the time. A little glitchy, but great overallI’ve had a great time on the app! I’ve been using it a few months now. The best advice? Cash out once in a while. Don’t just keep betting your winnings because you might lose them. It’s gambling! I do agree that the matchup with unknown players of unknown skill levels is a bit sketchy. The fix: invite your friends! You both will get some free money when you challenge them and you’ll know exactly who you’re playing with. I also hate when my wager is lost bc the app glitches. Great Game HOWEVERThis is a great game and concept where I can bet my money against a random player, however the skill based matchmaking NEEDS to go. I get skill based matchmaking in most online games, but when we are betting money the matchmaking needs to be random. If i am better than 90% of online players in a certain game I should win 90% of the time and have money to show for it. Fun, but watch out.The games are fun and you CAN make money. But once I get on a roll with a particular game, I get matched against the same mysterious person and they put up impossible numbers. I can match make incredibly fast and rifle off 4-5 games and they’re all against the exact same person who is getting a perfect score everytime. This happens over the course of a day or two. Stars lostYou lost 2 stars for taking away the daily shot. Although it only made 15 to 50 cents for making the daily shot/swing/put/kick (whatever seasonal sport was being promoted that time) it definitely added up. It’s how I funded my football season bets. Now they have done away with the daily shot challenge, making this app essentially worthless for the purpose I used it for. Going head to head with an opponent is pointless because the level of skill it takes to excel against a constant gamer (seemingly always my competitor) takes lots of free practice shots to be able to compete. Fun but FrustratingI absolutely love being able to wager a little over a fun mini phone game. My issues with this rely heavily on the matchmaking. There are far too many times where it feels like no matter how well I do, I’m going to lose to a pre determined matchup. Sometimes Good, Mortly SuspiciousI’ve been playing this game for a while and I’ve seen many suspicious incidents. Mostly, the game only gets glitchy when I play $3 and $5 games. When that happens, I very regularly lose only because of the eew missed shoes from the glitching. I’ve also seen scores be entirely too close to be real. This system will allow some nice wins to happen but then it’ll be a losing streak. 100% Chance You Won’t WinFirst off, please do not fall for the 4.7 rating, it is a complete lie. There is absolutely no way real customers are giving this app that high of a rating. Any rating of four or five stars is without a doubt fabricated by AI or the people at FanDuel Faceoff. It’s really not that hard to tell lol. So obviously riggedFun at first. Made some money. Then i realized the people you play aren’t picked before the game starts, the app judges your score and puts you against a higher or lower score depending on what your profits are. It’s obviously rigged for you to lose. I’ll score for example 90 points while only at $2 profit & the person i play only scores 88, then a next game i score 190 while at $20 profit but just so happen to go against someone scoring 210. It’s not a coincidence that when i get under 100 points i face someone else with low points, then when i get over 200 i face someone with over 300. Its happened dozens and dozens of times. They say “oh we match you based on skill level” as if this is skill based matchmaking in call of duty…..MONEY IS AT STAKE! Mixed BagThey get bent out of shape over things that just don’t really matter. My parents have accounts too. Last year, I started noticing that the app would initially have trouble starting after you turn your phone back on. That was before I realized you just have to constantly hit the ok button. So one day I gave my phone to one of them to log in. In June all of our accounts were suspended because of funding with the same name being connected to multiple accounts and because of device sharing. Sure, ignorance isn’t an excuse. They eventually reactivate the accounts. Ok, cool. But then they permanently block the personal phone that I had from making any bets whatsoever. So they essentially say, “we believe your explanation for the discrepancies flagged by our system, but you can’t use that personal phone for this ever again.” And that forces you to have to get a new personal phone—because of them getting so bent out of shape over something that just doesn’t really matter that much. It’s impossible to consistently win because the higher you score in a game, your opponents scores keep increasing (and who knows if your opponent is even real). They say they match you with people of a similar skill level to “make it fair” but all that means is if you’re good you’ll win most games at first then your opponents scores keep increasing and you’ll end up winning about 50% of the time while these scam artists take 10-15% of the pot for every game. The whole thing is designed so nobody can consistently win no matter how good you are and they can keep stealing money for every game played. If they just randomly matched you with whoever was playing at the time it would probably be worth using and the better you are the more money you’d make, but they’re too greedy and want to keep everyone playing longer so they make more money. You can win 10 games in a row and then immediately miraculously lose 11 games in a row, win 4 out of 5 and then lose 7 in row. Typical intermittent reinforcement scam that has been used by slot machines in casinos forever but unfortunately there is no chance of hitting a jackpot on this app and they take a 33% rake for your participation in their highly profitable con job. Overall I have won 1200 games total and I have lost 1350. I know several people with skill levels higher and lower than me that have this exact same win loss ratio. Game Is A Scam!I’ve been using this app for a while, mainly playing the basketball faceoff game, and I’m becoming increasingly frustrated with what feels like an unfair and potentially rigged system. When competing against other players for real money, you should both be given equal tools and chances — but that’s not what’s happening here. Players are clearly being given different power-ups, and some are much stronger than others. That completely undermines the fairness of a direct competition, especially when there’s money involved. On top of that, I kept getting matched with the same opponent during the 60-cent games. Strangely, they always seemed to stop scoring at a fixed point, which allowed me to win repeatedly. But when I decided to raise the stakes and play for $3, I got matched with the exact same user — except this time, they suddenly performed much better, far above their prior average. This raises serious red flags about whether I was playing against a real person or a bot. It feels like the system is set up to let users win just enough to encourage them to spend more — and then quietly ensures they lose when the money gets real. It’s no wonder I’ve seen people refer to this company as “ScamDuel” online. I’ve deleted the app and I’m seriously considering looking into legal options. Don’t start playing its rigged against youYou can score almost a perfect score and then what they do is wait until someone has a higher score (this has happened multiple times) but that opponent is not playing the same game as you or I my case with free cell the same cards. Rigged Money GrabThis obviously just a way for Fanduel to make money without actually paying anything out. The winnings are smaller than the prize pool between 2 players, as Fanduel takes a cut of every game. The more you win, (especially on games like Scrabble Cubes) the harder it will get, giving you entire sides of the cube that have no vowels and make it pretty impossible to make words let alone high scoring ones. In these instances it will also put you against a newer player that the game generates easier puzzles for to get them hooked in. They will get 700 points on what has to be a completely different puzzle, unless they know words made up of all “T”s and “V”s, beat you every time, and then presumably get the mess of consenants that you were getting and lose whatever they made while Fanduel makes a couple bucks. ShadinessSome things I’ve noticed that ALWAYS happen. 1) when you see bonuses for monthly play or daily play you’ll end up playing a bunch of games and you’ll get your bonus. But when you play your bonus $, 99% of the time you lose. 2) a lot of these games are very glitchy. Scrabble many times it lags so bad that it takes a second or two after you press a letter. Lost cause for you to complain about it and if you do, you’ll get an attitude from their customer service. They’ll ask for screenshots that won’t ever prove or disprove your claim. 3) MOST IMPORTANT: legitimately the WORST customer service in the history of paid apps. You won’t ever winThey say it’s skill based and assure you that it’s fair - then why do I lose to people over and over by scores way higher than any score I ever got. I can’t even verify that it’s correct because you cannot see anything your opponent does. Most people will never win with this app it is fun to play the games though. Additionally the rake is crazy high. What stops them from reserving a score close to yours and then letting one win one Tim then the next win the second time. If you win half the games the rake just keeps dwindling both parties money until once again you are adding funds. Also with the skill match I’m guessing I’m never lowered in skill because I have had some tough boggle boards and gotten lower scores but opponents scores seem so high. Do not play this app it’s a scamTheir match making algorithm isn’t explained I don’t even understand how it’s legal what they’re doing. Once you start winning a few games they change up their matching and it takes multiple hours before you’re matched to someone whose score is somehow always higher than yours even though you were consistently putting up winning scores days prior. They purposely try and keep you in the 50% win margin so they can take their 33% rake from a match. Players lose money by staying or just above a 50% win rate cause they match you with higher scores that aren’t real time heck they could even be bots. I’d recommend reporting fan duel to your local congress person because this is straight up fraud what they’re doing. Absolute scamI signed up under a new user promo that offered a 100% deposit bonus within 72 hours. It has been over a week, I never received a bonus. The promo promised that I could withdraw my deposit at any time with no penalty, but when I tried to do so, it said deposited money must be played before it can be withdrawn. I had to request a refund. Customer service promised that if I did, I would still receive the bonus. Only one winner hereSuch a racket. Seems like many complaints receive a boilerplate response vaunting the fairness of their matchmaking system. Suppose the system is as fair and accurate as they want to claim it is. The result: They will quickly find your level. Which is to say, you'll be pooled together with a group of players of comparable skill level. In the long term, how can you win 55-60% of your games (roughly the break even point, depending on the game stakes) against a pool of players who are roughly as good as you are? If the matchmaking system works, you won't. You'll win around half your games, give or take a couple of percentage point either way. And it won't help to get better at these "skill" games. As you improve, so will the caliber of players in your pool. The matchmaking system will ensure that. Of course fanduel can claim this is "fair" in the sense that you will face similarly skilled opponents. They cannot claim it is fair in the sense that it is giving the typical player a real chance to win money. If the matchmaking system is as leveling as they want to claim it to be, over the medium to long term, you cannot win at the rate you'd need to win to overcome the leveling power of the matchmaking system. Perfect place to give away your money!I’ve been playing Fan Duel Faceoff since its inception and I think it’s a wonderful app for making Fan Duel cash hand over fist. They try to make you believe it’s on the “up and up”, but the only “up” here is the pure profit theses guys steal from their customers. We’ve pretty much nailed down the algorithm they use to draw people in and get them to believe they have a chance to win something, but in the end the playing field is tilted towards the house. I can play a perfect game in the swish game and the computer beats me by 2,000 points. ScamYou do not play another player. You play a cpu, you will win 2 out of like 10. Then when you win they compare your score to another player but they will find they highest score so they can take your money. My biggest issue is with the game plays as it begins to glitch and cause they game to give you a lower score rather the free version. Game wont performance doesn’t match play. (Perfectly time throws coming out overthrown or hits being way harder than the game determined you did. I noticed when I began to win. They make it where it is impossible to win. Be careful! Too Easy to Accidentally play PAID games!I actually love the games. I play the free games and occasionally play a paid one. The problem is it is way too easy to click on a paid game. The free games are on the top of the list and they throw paid games to the top once and I’ve been guilty of not paying attention. The games need a safety feature, to ask if you really want to spend money from your account. If I want to buy a game on the App Store I have to click to confirm. I was trying to get back to the main menu and I paid for a $12 game of golf. If it just gave me a chance to cancel or asked me to confirm I would recommend this as a fun way to play some competitive games. But buyer beware! ScamI was originally going to leave a good review, because when you first download and play you actually do come up a few dollars, but then it gets old. After you receive your finally score from the games, it either says “open” or “playing”. What it seems like is their purposely not matching random people to play at the exact same time, because they look at your score, then match you with probably a bot with an higher score, so you lose. That’s not how these type of games are supposed to go, if the games are all titled “head to head”, you should be head to head with somebody not matched with somebody after your score is out. Algorithm RIGGED against you.You are totally matched based on the points you score in that specific contest, NOT your overall skill level. There’s a difference. You can wait for hours while the contest says “waiting for an opponent”, most of the time after putting up a high score. But when you put up a way lower score than what you usually do, you get matched up right away, to someone who averages way lower than you, and most of the time they end up barely winning against you. It’s like they want to encourage that other player to keep playing, to your benefit. Fanduel will say they have no interest in your games, and don’t have any vested interest in which way the contest goes (they def. get their money’s worth) but the way the algorithm is rigged, they don’t need to worry about you making a profit. Not LegitI have been using this app for a few weeks. You start playing and win. Then once you get good at the games, score high and keep playing, it gets sketchy. There’s been multiple games where I score really high, an opponent says “playing” and then the opponent disappears and a new one is chosen, then I lose. I thought that it would be a legitimate game coming from FanDuel, but it’s just like Pocket7Games and all the other “skill for cash” games. Just a way to hand over moneyThe games are fun and the app works pretty well. Just don’t do this thinking you’ll win any money. Again, to break even, you must win nearly 2/3 of the time, or your account balance will continue to fall due to the money the app keeps to run the games. Waste of timeThis app makes you think you can win money just to pair you against a random person that just so happens to get a way higher score than you as soon as you decide to bet actual money. Like for instance, on the game “Galaxy match” it is VERY easy to make it into higher levels when you play for free. But when you wager money, you can barely make it past level 2 because they minimize how much you can actually score on the game. I play free version I’m scoring almost 20k points. Dishonest matchmakingFun games that are actually well designed but the dishonest matchmaking ruins the enjoyment. It’s basically impossible to get on any sort of winning streak because the algorithm or “matchmaking” if that’s what you want to call it will not let you win too much. You aren’t going up in a live H2h match against someone else. You are going up against a score of whatever fanduel’s system thinks you deserve and it’s determined as your game is happening. So essentially how you do in each individual game is irrelevant. The game pre determines as you are playing if you win or lose. However, you used to be able to view the stats of your competition (avg and high score), and it was completely normal to end up matched up against someone with an average score higher than your own previous best, after winning several times in a row, of course. Actual ScamI have been playing this game for a few weeks and the games are generally fun and easy to play. I agree with other reviews stating that the scores of the other players are sketchy and difficult to verify that you are actually getting a fair matchup against a real person. Twice on cash games I got a score of over 10,000 and when returned to the main screen, my score is listed as lower than 5000. Bad everythingThey have lockers to provide rewards for logging in everyday. It worked for a few days and then it didn’t. Opened a ticket/case and still no response from tech support or customer service. This is the second time that I have reported that the lockers stopped working. Yet it goes in resolved. Poor game and customer serviceSeveral times I have played games and had an error message pop up that says “Something went wrong on our end, unable to start game”. Fanduel then proceeds to take the entry fee and give a - for a score followed by a 0 resulting in a loss.
