This mobile app for video creators enables wired and wireless video monitoring, as well as high-precision exposure adjustments and focus control on the larger screens of smartphones, tablets, and Macs.

Features of Monitor & Control

- Highly flexible shooting style
The app allows a smartphone, tablet, or Mac to be used as a second monitor, and camera settings and operations to be performed from a remote location, via a wired or wireless connection.

- Support for high-precision exposure monitoring*
The ability to check waveform monitor / false colour / histogram / zebra displays on a large screen enables more accurate exposure settings at the video production site.

- Intuitive focusing operations
Various focus settings/operations, such as touch focus (operation) and AF sensitivity adjustment (settings) are possible, while a control bar at the side of the screen enables intuitive focusing.

- Equipped with a wide range of colour setting functions
Operations such as Picture Profile / Scene File setting and LUT switching are possible. You can apply LUTs while shooting in Log mode and display the image in order to check the final look.

- Easy operability that meets the needs of creators
The app allows adjustments that are frequently made during shooting (frame rate, sensitivity, shutter speed, ND filter*, look, white balance) to be made on a mobile device. Functions are provided that facilitate shooting, such as switching between shutter speed and angle displays, and the display of markers, as well as a de-squeeze display function compatible with anamorphic lenses.
* If the camera does not have an ND filter, the ND Filter item will be blank.

- Multi-Camera Monitoring
Multiple cameras can be wirelessly connected to a single iPad*, enabling simultaneous shooting, operation, display, and recording from those cameras.

Great app it just needs to support more camerasThis app is great. I really like using it and it connects to the Sony A7IV much better than the creators app. The issues I have are more requests: - Lack of full camera line support I feel like any camera released after the A7IV should be supported - Add audio record level display and controls - iOS compatibility I use an iPhone for a top down set up and it would be cool if the app could also work with the iPhone camera or at least Xperia devices. I know this is a stretch, but it’d be cool..Version: 2.2.0

Update Firmware to 4.0: Comments filled with user errorTLDR: Great app, adds amazing functionality to an already amazing camera. Everyone complaining thier camera can't connect has no idea what they're doing. Before you download and try to connect with this app, install firmware 4.0 on your FX3, or the latest version of the compatible firmware for your camera. For those complaining about monitor lag, there is a toggle to toggle priority between dispaly speed vs monitor image quality, try that first. For those that are complaining about the app asking for permissions, Apple forces all apps that need/can save images to your camera role for each permission the app needs. Sony is not interested in stealing ot using your data, unless you give them permission. You can turn off the toggles to share data in this app and the creator app if you just read the terms of service options before you hit accept and toggled them off. Sony, you can do a better job of letting people know the requirements before attempting to connect to thier cameras. PLEASE add shutter angle to the FX3 and this program (currently only works with FX6), I also wouldn't mind open gate recording. Thanks!.Version: 1.0.0

Is it that difficult to make quality?Is it really that difficult in the world of high end technologies to make quality monitor for your product? Ok, I might understand if it’s a startup from couple guys, but when such a huge brand as Sony does this…. What are those privacy checks for? Why there is no direct cable connection? You create high end cameras and can’t release a simple camera monitor powered by external device? Let people pay for it if it’s gonna work as it should but don’t ask to track my working location and photo gallery. I wanna control my camera on a bigger screen, not to save thousands of gigs on my phone, I have sd card for it.Version: 2.2.0

Needs Gamma Assist/LUT for A7SiiiThe app works really well and is very responsive. My picture can lag, but I believe that this is probably interference from my video transmission system. My only issue is the lack of Gamma assist or LUTs for the A7Siii in the app. I use this app mainly for my gimbal monitor and it’s hard to judge exposure in SLog3. I’ve seen that LUT control is in there for other cameras. Please give us LUT control or gamma assist for the A7Siii. I’m not sure why any SLOG3 capable cameras would be excluded from this functionality..Version: 2.1.0

Aspect ratios!Please add the ability to overlay aspect ratios so we can review our footage in the proper format. And custom aspect ratios as well! Just like the cameras. 🙏🏽😌 and is there anyway to improve the resolution being streamed? Update: version 5 improved the resolution to the app. But please add the ability to set aspect ratios!.Version: 2.0.0

Missing functionalityWhat this app provides is fantastic. However it is missing audio levels as well as any sort of playback. It doesn’t make sense why this isn’t supported when I can just go to the menu on the camera and using the camera pad to playback. So it seems line it would be very easy to make it work and they just have not done it at all. Very frustrating..Version: 2.4.0

Great App but no audio monitoringLOVE this app. Very easy to use and intuitive. My only complaint is no audio monitoring. I understand that the audio is a physical control, so I don’t need to actually adjust it through the app. Just monitor it to check levels. If I’m filming myself or am in the interview on a multicam set up I need to still use another monitor or record sound separately which almost negates the convenience of the app..Version: 2.0.0

Awesome! But you know what would make it AWESOME(er)You know what would be cool? If the M&C app had a slate on it! Because the app controls the camera, it already has all of the connections and information in it, so this app would be perfect for this..Version: 2.6.0

A requestAdding usb control over lightening cable would make older iPads usable with cable that would be nice I’m having issues connecting zv e1 to iPad 9th gen by usb but the other functions are just too good.Version: 2.2.0

Great App, but…I would LOVE it if you could address the vertical issue. In landscape mode this app is a dream but turn it vertical and it’s a different story. The image from the camera is tiny and unusable..Version: 2.3.0

Awesome Monitor App….But….I have been doing some work with my FX30 using this app on my iPhone 16. And I’m impressed. One thing I am noticing is noticeable frame drops as I’m recording/monitoring. This issue happens no matter what frame rate I’m recording at. I hope this gets resolved..Version: 2.1.0
