Subscribe and Save is a rip-offThis review isn’t about the app. The app is fine with me. This is about Amazon’s subscribe and save. I had many items on it and realized the item was cheaper if I had ordered it myself. I contacted custom service and was told to wait until I receive the item before they would give me the cheaper price. I’m figuring when I did receive it, the cheaper price would be gone and they wouldn’t refund or they count on a customer forgetting to contact them. I canceled my five year prime membership along with canceling all subscribe and saves. Prime has gotten to be a joke, too. I loved the music. Now they want to you pay MORE to hear up-to-date good music by subscribing to their music service. The only reason I had prime was for the shipping and the music. Now we’re down to one and I’ve been finding better pricing on items I buy elsewhere. Prime is no longer worth it for me. So disappointed..Version: 13.13.0
Unacceptable.To be honest, I can’t always differentiate between the app and the retailer’s flaws. I can compare the app to the website, though. I have a major issue with Amazon’s search engine, which usually ignores many of my search terms. I have huge issues with the quality of the products and the stingy limitations it places on my ownership of music and audiobooks I have paid for and should own for my money. Food stamps? Check out the microscopic choices available to the poor, who can use their food stamps for almost anything edible, in regular stores.
I have many irritations with the app, such as no dates on reviews (which we know are not useful because so many of them are simply bogus propaganda from people being rewarded for positive contributions), the app’s design, which is far more awkward and limiting than Amazon’s website.
Both access points are aggravating in their inefficiency. I was seduced by Prime’s free shipping but am growing disgusted by Amazon’s poor customer service, its obfuscation of information, its focus on selling the cheapest garbage out there, its deceptive vendors, its manipulative and half-useless navigation algorithms, and its apparent business strategy of wasting as much of my time as possible, and I feel that the app is a rather crudely implemented extension of the company and its deplorable values and business plan. Last minute transactionsI been ordering on this app for like 2 years now . I never cared or really checked how they took my transactions. I ordered a group of things small things including baby diapers,lotions, soaps and toys etc. I calculate how much will be removed from my checking account . You guys don’t take the money off till last minute it can be a few hours or days before you take the money off my card which can be very confusing . I’m the most of it all it sometimes declines it and says I need to revise payment method, there be nothing wrong with my cards or bank accounts because the money still stays there . Then I have to buy another thing separately which won’t be the same price for that I have to spend more only becasue you guys on your end try to have me pay for different deliveries when all together I wanted it done and paid for one delivery. I order so many diapers that I need today and it will not be coming I will have to go to the store in person which I did not want to do because they never have what I need . Less user friendly than it used to beI used to like the app - it had most of the same searching ability as the desktop browser. With all the updates recently, it has to reload the page each time I want to add a filter even if it is a deeper level of the same type of filter. I also used to be able to use a search term and select ANY category I was interested in. Now a search term may only yield a few options to narrow a category. Example: I search for “stainless steel” and I can’t refine my search by the category of “arts, crafts and jewelry making”. If change the search term to “stainless steel charms”, I can refine my search by “arts, crafts and jewelry making”. The problem is that “charms” may not be the exact thing I am looking for and I want a more broad search but not so broad that I get entirely unrelated items.
Another big pet peeve of mine is kids shoe sizes. You used to be able to select the shoe size you were looking AND distinguish between little kid and big kid sizes. Now you can’t. But let tell you, there is a BIG difference between a size little kid 1 and big kid 1. Looking for shoes for my kids for big kid sizes 1 and 2 is beyond infuriating when size filters are meaningless.Version: 21.10.0
Web Experience FeedbackSince there is nowhere on the app to provide feedback on the interface, I guess I have to do it here, and I guess the first suggestion is for a place to ask questions and leave feedback about the interface.
Second item: put my friggin Lists back the way they were!! Why do you feel the need to screw up a perfectly good system?! What’s with the new icons and why are their two when they seem to do the same thing? I lost the functionality of being able to search my Lists for stuff. Very bad!! I now have you grouping things together for me - other than in my Lists… why??? That’s what the Lists are FOR aren’t they?? 🤦🏼♂️ Ugh, come on, guys! I get that you want to make things better, but where are you getting your intel from? Did I miss a survey? Did someone actually suggest jacking up the Lists and then not tell anybody - just sneak it in??

Overall pretty decentThe overall usability of the app is pretty decent. My account details are easy to find and keeping an eye on my orders are as well. I would have to say using the search engine isn’t as easy as it used to be. Even with knowledge in how to use search engines to narrow down your search, I still seem to struggle at times with getting unrelated items, a too narrow search, or a too vague and high result search. This makes shopping difficult and/or time consuming.
On a side note, I would love it if the app had a “dark appearance” setting or “nighttime” setting for the display. I have my phone set to this since I suffer from migraines and try to limit my phone time; the white display of the app can be a bit bright when scrolling and shopping. This display setting choice would be very helpful for someone like me where light sensitivity can impact app usage (I have to do the same thing with my computer settings and turn the brightness down as far as I can because of how bright the screen is)..Version: 19.22.2
Decent, but filters need more work.The app is well-designed and easy to use, but when browsing clothes, the filters just don’t work most of the time.
If you want something long sleeve, you put the long sleeve filter on, and you’d expect long sleeve products to show up, but you end up with sleeveless or short sleeve.
Testing this out for dresses too ends up with even worse results, with the fabric type filter just not working most of the time. Let’s say you want something made of cotton, so you use the cotton fabric type filter, and results will range from actually being cotton to having absolutely no relevance to cotton.
Additionally, some of the products that actually do fulfill the requirements for the filter actually get filtered out and don’t appear after the filter is applied, thus making the filter pretty useless, for example, we’ll say that you are looking for a dress solid in color, with long bell sleeves. Applying that filter will end up with some with that requirement, but most of the others having short sleeves, patterns, and regular short sleeves.
Applying the filter and sorting from cheapest also just doesn’t yield good results, where you can end up with that products that have nothing to do with the search in the top result. Let’s say you’re looking for shirts but you get microphones instead. It’s really bizarre.

Broken appI don’t understand what’s going on, I could open the app, see where it says orders, etc. but that’s it. If I click on anything, and I mean anything, it continuously says oops something went wrong! I deleted the app in hopes it would fix the problem, but that only created a new one. The app has completely disappeared from my phone after updating it, I guess that’s what they wanted me to do but… the only way to get to it is through the App Store. The app refuses to be on my phone. What is going on? I’m not gonna go onto the App Store every single time I wanna try and see if it works. I really want to know why my phone thinks it’s installed, but I don’t even have the app on it physically, it does not exist after the update. i’ve never seen an app wanting me to go to the App Store in order to get to it. It logs me right in with all my info, so what the heck is going on? Stuck in spanishAmozon has always been the easiest way to order I like the one click and I like it when the Amozon truck delivers but that is all becoming more inconvenient. Forcing people to buy items that they are not ready for.You have j jeopardized your integrity. You are trying to force people to buy items that they want to save for a later date. I have taken off all the items that I had wanted to buy but at a later time. Now I will not buy those items because I don’t have the time to look through everything again. I can’t read your app pagesI’m 76 years old. Oh wait a minute no I’m only 74 but I still have a problem. I can’t read your pages anymore. I have Cataracs and the contrast between your very light lettering in your white background. All that makes everything blend into one. On my phone, I have it set to have dark backgrounds and white lettering. And that works pretty well and many websites automatically adhere to that, but not yours.
I’ve looked for places where I could set your App to have a dark background, but I can’t find it and no it’s not because I can’t read it because it’s not there. I’ve had my family look at look at it for me and they can’t find it either. so maybe we’re all really dumb and we can’t figure out how to do it and if so, please send us a instructions. I would greatly appreciate it. If it’s no way to do it can you please ask your webpage operators to include that option. Thank you.

Absolutely Hate the New UI and Color CrimeI’m not normally one to complain, but the new app update was a grand waste of time and effort. If you paid for that abomination, I would demand your money back... and an apology.
The user interface change is so different from the previous app that it makes for a very confusing and frustrating experience. I spent more time figuring out the cluttered navigation than I did shopping - and I apologize, but I do not believe you could have found a more hideous chimera of accent colors if you applied two AI’s and a team of failed design school dropouts to the task. That sickly, washed-out mint green, tried to be aqua, and God I wish I were blue, is absolutely repugnant and nauseating to behold. Marketing FAIL! Please, for the sake of those of us with good color vision make it go away. I will have to use the mobile website until it is purged. Noticeable UI experience between iPad and iPhoneApologies if this sounds a bit odd but ... On my iPad units (iPad Pro 1st gen and iPad Air), all product items renders slower and specifically during item previewing, it is extremely sluggish upon selection etc. + if I view a few product videos, the top navigation frame often times will just disappear and I no longer can go back nor select anything to move forward (press the home button and swipe up to close the app).
EFFECTIVELY, the user experience on the iPad has become quite poor and unreliable for quite some time (I finally got around to submitting a review to share it).
INVERSELY, using the app on my iPhone 12, it works quite reliably well as expected. In fact, I often use my iPad to view some products ‘on the big gear screen’ as needed but end up using my iPhone to wrap up and make the purchases. It’s too difficult to determine country of origin of productsBy law products have to be marked where they are manufactured, but this information is not readily available in this app. I am a big proponent of buying American made products. The information on the products sold does not always contain country of origin information, and sometimes have to dig through the pictures to find out to the point I waist hours looking. And on at least one occasion I thought a product I was ordering was made in the US and found out when it arrived it was made in China so I returned it.
If we could filter by country of origin, this would be helpful. Especially for high end goods like kitchen equipment, furniture, tools, decorative items and wood products where country of origin is largely indicative of the quality of the product.
Besides this issue, the app is great. Very good search algorithm, and I like how when you search and can shop certain brands..Version: 21.14.0
“Add to wishlist” issues and review suggestionsWhenever I go to add an item to my Wishlist or Idea List, it brings up a blank white screen with a loading symbol. It will sit on that page for minutes and nothing happens.
Also, an app suggestion for sorting through items in photo reviews;
It would be very helpful to have the option to sort through reviews by color, size, item, etc in which you are looking for - and be able to choose specifically WHICH item or color or size of an item you are seeing within that review section. For example, if I’m looking at a tshirt that has multiple colors or styles within the same product listing, it would be convenient to be able to see customers reviews of JUST that selected color, size, or style. A good example of an app that does this perfectly, is the Shein app. You are able to see all reviews, but you can also select the exact items you wish to look at so you aren’t scrolling forever looking for specifics. This is helpful because we are able to see what certain styles look like on certain body shapes etc and a lot of people don’t put what size they ordered in their review - so to have the app automatically have that information on the review so shoppers can see would be very helpful. Also, shoppers who leave reviews should have the option to hide their sizing info if they wish..Version: 21.9.0
Ratings after items receivedThere needs to be a comment section after rating delivery service to add personal comments. Existing ratings are to general and needs to be individualize to each recipients experience. Giving the company insight on improvement.I recently had an item left at my side door as I specified luckily I noticed my delivery alert and retrieved my package, although I feel the service was good I believe the package should have been placed as close to the door or home as possible rather than further away to prevent possible theft..it was very similar to placing an item on the front stoop for any and everyone to see the goal to make it as inconspicuous as able.. not to place it in the middle of the walk way as to alert others. Sharing Items with people.I’ve been using this app for years now and it’s great. However I’m actually writing to give feedback about something. When trying to share a product there is only one way that I’m aware of. The new option that I noticed is “Ask For Friend’s Advice”. This doesn’t make sense to me as customers might not be asking for advice, but just instead want to share the item link. The recipient may find this confusing. This was the case for me recently. I’ve done this by text and shows a picture of the product with a link that will take you directly to it, which is as simple it should be. So aside from the criticism from me, I think it’s a clever idea but there should also be the option to just share without asking for advice..Version: 21.2.2
Recent version has orientation bugsI’ve searched the webpage for a way to report a bug to no avail.
I always keep my iPad in landscape mode. Recently upon opening it switches to portrait mode, sometimes cutting off the bottom half the screen as if it doesn’t exist.
I have to tilt my iPad to portrait and then back to landscape which sometimes fixes it, most of the time the cutting of the screen gets worse or it ignores that I did anything and laughs in my face.
I just tried to submit a review and noticed it also for some reason had zoomed in on the page a bit cutting off right side of the screen. I could see it if I pinched the view in, but I couldn’t scroll right or keep it zoomed out which made writing the review extremely difficult.
As-is the app is nearly unusable for me and until its fixed I’ll be forced to use the web interface which isn’t quite as nice to use as the app..Version: 17.17.0

What just happened?I love the amazon app. I use it to buy almost anything I want or need. I know that I can trust them with my information and bringing my packages on time. However in this new update something must have glitched. All of my information has been wiped. My order history (I have 4 orders on their way and now I’ve lost the ability to track them), Wish lists, and items in my cart that I’ve saved for later. That’s only what I’ve noticed, I bet my cards and shipping address is gone too. I bet amazon is trying to fix it but it’s still very inconvenient..Version: 9.17.0
