Featured by Apple as "New and Noteworthy" on the main App Store landing page. Pitch Pipe+ is a tuner application for the playback of reference pitches, perfect for singing and tuning instruments.
It consists of three views:
Chromatic - Playback of all pitches from 6 octaves. Choose between the note sustaining indefinitely or for 3 seconds. Useful for choirs and a-capella singers as reference for starting note.
Pitch Pipe - This one is for singers used to using chromatic pitch pipes. Sounds are sampled from actual pitch pipes. Choose between C-C and F-F pipes. Tap a currently playing note to kill it immediately.
Guitar - Dedicated guitar tuner lets you tune to guitar samples in addition to the sine wave tone. Auto advance moves down the strings so you don't have to keep reaching for the phone. The following tunings are available: Standard, Dropped D, DADGAD, Open D, Open G, Open A.
The last visited view is shown whenever you relaunch the app so you have instant access to your preferred view.
Calibrate tuning from A = 414 to 466 Hz.

If all you want is a standalone pitch pipe, hard to beatThere are newer options available now such as Tunable that include a tuner and metronome as long as with pitch, but for a buck this still does the job of a pitch pipe is the only thing you need. These tones are triangle wave I believe (keyboard mode), and sound less harsh. The pitch wheel is however kind of harsh..Version: 1.6

Convenience to the utmost degreeI'm an aspiring orchestral musician, and might I say, first of all, that it's important or every orchestral musician to warmup and practice excerpts with a tuner. I started using this in my daily routine (especially the piano sounds) for intervalic tuning and adjustment. I put headphones in as I practice and loop the specific tones on "infinite mode", then I hear the waves clearly as I practice scales/arps with headphones on. Personal, convenient, and highly recommended for the serious musician that plays in many different practice rooms/venues. Best dollar I've invested in a long time..Version: 0
GREAT Update!My primary concerns were addressed and fixed (F-F one octave too low & square wave tone used for pitch pipe). In addition the graphics have also been improved with an even cleaner look. I especially like the black/white difference between pitches which makes it really easy to tell apart. Great job -- this is far better than any other pitch pipe app now!.Version: 0
Backwards progressStarted as a good app for basic tuning needs with decent design. It still works fine, but it gets uglier with every update. The look was cool, now it's boring as hell. Do you guys have no sense of visual design? I've never seen an app get worse with updates before. New icon is hideous. Handy Keyboard OptionA very handy little app-- I use it to get my starting note or check a note all the time. The keyboard option is really handy-- you can pick any octave and know which one you're on. Also, you can choose how long to have a note last or just cut it off with the kill-switch..Version: 1.5

It gives pitches n stuffIt's not like some super amazing app, but it does what it's supposed too, and is very functional. If you are a guitar player, there is also a nice guitar tone window that has multiple guitar tunings (drop d, open d, open g, etc.). Pitch Pro came through for our auditionDoes just what it says. Used the traditional pitch pipe feature at an audition (and warmups) for our chorale to sing "Star Spangled Banner" for a local pro baseball team. Worked great for us. Pitch pro- long tonesFor my purposes of using the pitch pro for long tones, it works superbly providing as many octaves as I need and a steady pitch with which to tune to. Gotta like the changing of the frequency to adjust to different orchestra's tuning preferences!.Version: 1.5

Alright, needs more pitchesI like the interface of this app, it is easy to use. However there are a couple problems with this version. It would be nice to have some alternate tunings for the guitar (ie open G, half step down, ect). The keyboard only offers one octave, an extention/option-of-octave would be nice as well. One more thing: the A and D strings featured in the recordings have too low of an action and vibrate against the fretboard; it would be nice to hear those fixed..Version: 0
