With Group SMS you can send an SMS text message to a group of contacts, your friends or business contacts or clients. Group SMS is also the perfect app to send your Christmas and New Year greetings to your loved ones and friends.
These groups can be small or very large (Bulk SMS) and send to tens, hundreds or thousands of contacts. You can also send email to groups. Group SMS is ideal when you need to send the same message to any number of contacts.
Group SMS will show you the groups that are already defined in the Contacts app of your iPhone. It also allows you to create new groups as well as modify your existing groups and contacts.
Using the built-in Templates feature, you can reuse often-used text messages or emails that you need to send to groups.
You can also add attachments to your messages, like photos or PDFs.
Group SMS will send the SMS using the built-in Messages app OR you can use the special SMS gateway of Group SMS.
The costs of the SMSs will be charged by your mobile operator or you can buy SMS from within the app itself. If a group contains 12 contacts, you will be charged 12 SMS.
When you have a very large group (more than 50 contacts), you can choose to bypass your own mobile provider and select to use the SMS gateway of Group SMS instead. This will allow you to send your Group SMS with less cost and with more control. This feature is also ideal for marketing campaigns. You can directly import a large set of phone numbers via a .CSV file (phone numbers separated by a comma and a newline).
Group Mail is always without costs. You can also forward email attachments to groups.

Finaly a Group SMS that works!!!!So far this app has worked as advertised and I could not be happier. Well worth the 99 cents! I can create, delete and edit groups from my phone. The only future enhancement I would like is to allow Pictures to be sent. I give you 4 stars till I can send a picture. Ok just found two bugs that are easy to work around but a bit annoying. First is that if you have someone listed as “Home#” only instead of “Mobile#” it won’t send to them. That’s ok I can update my list to Mobile. Second bug I found is after I went into my contacts from the phone not the sms app and updated the mobile#s. the SMS still showed them as home#. I had to kill the SMS app from my quick launch and open it again to update the numbers on the group list. Not a big deal after I figured that out of course. I still give it 4 stars!.Version: 1.8
Works!This is a very simple app that just does what the description says: send a text to a group of people form your address book. (The texts are send using the plan you have with your phone.) I use this app since version 1.0 and with that version you could only define (who is in) a group on your computer, so not on your phone. Version 1.1 allows you to create and edit the groups on your phone as well. I mention this because 2 of the reviews with version 1.0 are not completely fair, imho. The people who wrote those did not read the description that came with version 1.0. (I am not saying they should but if they had they would have known what the app does do and does not do.) But I suppose they are happy now because their problem is solved with version 1.1..Version: 0
ReviewBeen using this product since I got my iPhone over a year ago. Love it. It helps me in business and keeping up with different groups, with 40 employees, 5 kids, their spouses, grand kids etc. I also use Group SMS to group friends, golf buddies, and co-workers. New Update is Great!I have used this app for a 2 months now. Works great! The newest version allow you to create you own groups. For those who rated this app poorly. I would tell you to reinstall it and give it another try. Instructional videos are a nice touch..Version: 0
Works PerfectlyYou should already have your groups defined to use this app, but in my case this is no problem, because I create and organize my groups always on the desktop (Mac). So, once you have your groups defined, this apps works perfectly and does the job well..Version: 0
Does something Apple should already have in place!This fills an important need for the iPhone, sending a text/email to a group of contacts. So far it has worked very well for me with text and email. The developer has even responded to a few concerns and requests. Also for the price it gives you a simple need for less money then other apps... Very good app!.Version: 1.7
