HONEST REVIEW!! fast and friendly service!AN HONEST REVIEW I ordered delivery which was amazingly fast! Using Walmart’s grocery pickup doesn’t have half the personalization/ communication/ and friendliness. For delivery they keep you up to date each step of the way and if they have to substitute an item they text you and ask what you would like instead in pretty plain as day detail! I have a condition that makes grocery shopping difficult and being the only place that does grocery delivery I’m exceedingly glad that it was such a great experience. The delivery fee is not that bad I live in the country so them getting me my groceries in a matter of a couple hours was astonishing after ordering. It was less than 2 hours from start to finish and the costs on many items were better. (Some not so much but that’s expected when you change to a new store) the convenience alone is well worth the difference which I have to say isn’t very much. Thank you Kroger’s for the excellent service you provide it’s more than appreciated while I am trying to recover from my mental health issues. I’ll be looking forward to using this app and service again! A Weekly used appWe use this app every week! It’s essential for our grocery shopping. We place pick up orders and really enjoy the ease of picking up instead of shopping in person. But I’m writing this review for the developers of the app. I have one big request: can you please make the recent order ready for pick up easier to find after placing the order? It literally disappears in the app once placed. I will search and search and search to find what button to press to access my recently placed but not picked up order and it’s impossible to find. My husband and I share the app and he can access it through text message since he gets the text about the pick up order and replacements when it’s ready but on my end when I try to find it on the app it is no where. Can you make this the biggest and most obvious section on every page of the app? And then give a big THANK YOU for placing the order section to replace that with access to the receipt and replacements to replace that section? And then after end of day kick it to the history list? It is easy to access previous orders once picked up, but it should also be easy to access orders in progress of being picked up. Thank you so so much for considering!!!! And thank you for all your work! Oh and I also noticed it’s easy to bump the scan button at the search bar and I think that’s frustrating. Not the bestUnfortunately I wish I could leave a more positive review, it is literally the closest and most convenient store to my home and considering I’ve had surgery I have no choice but to go pick up groceries. We’ve been using the pick up app for quite a while though, and we keep hoping that it will improve so we keep using it over and over again, we find that either we don’t have all of our items that we’ve paid for that are in stock that are just literally being missed, or we receive extra items that belong to someone else, when we call back to let them know they just say “it’s OK just keep those items“ or sometimes they are items that we don’t personally use or need so then we’re looking around for other neighbors or friends that might want these unwanted products. Numerous times we have pay for items and just flat out not received them. I understand they are short staffed and very busy and are doing the best they can, but it is literally a repetitive experience and I’m not sure what the problem is or where it stems from but somebody needs to know these things. I’m sure we will continue to use this Kroger pick up app, in hopes that it will improve because it is literally our neighborhood grocery store. And we try to keep having faith that someday it will be as good as the quality of picking up at Walmart. Just a few improvements would make it perfect...May 2025: My mother shopped at Kroger, so I have been going to Kroger my entire life. This app is reasonably intuitive, the overall layout and function are quite good. The search feature needs work, sometimes it gets stuck on showing you what you purchased before instead of just saying "we don't carry Cabot brand Greek yogurt, here is what we have in stock." Once you figure out that the app is going to show you a bunch of garbage instead of just saying "we don't carry that brand," you'll be a lot less frustrated. (I don't know if that reoccurring problem is incompetence or if it's psychological manipulation "marketing" but it should be fixed.) I am confused by the app icon losing the Kroger "K" and gaining the obscene triangles. Maybe it's supposed to attract more men to the app? (Certainly got one dude's attention.) The app makes pick up orders quick, easy, and a lifesaver after a long work day. As with every retailer, check your order, especially produce, before leaving the parking lot.
NOTE: I off load apps when not actively using them bc my battery loves me for it, and bc I love my privacy.

A little difficult with the fruits and veggies. But!! Once you realize that 1(one) banana is not the bunch of bananas, and 1 vine ripe tomato is not the-bunch of vine ripe tomatoes pictured...then it gets easier. You must select the number of bananas that you want... in the notes you can say keep in a 4 bunch medium size, small to medium length, or long length bananas etc. Green or ripe, etc...otherwise, with the counting of the bananas ... you will only receive 1 (one) banana.
This has been an awesome experience!! The staff have been attentive, personal and in it for the long haul of the virus and then some!! I’ve been very pleased. Substitution have been acceptable, and have been discussed upon the delivery. Kroger should be commended for their overall outstanding rising to the occasion of COVID-19!! This is the safest way for everyone!! It also helps to keep their workplace( grocery store a safer place for the staff!!
Business can continue as usual with the exception that the general public needs to be accommodating as well!! By picking up your groceries... minimizes the contact of the general public - keeping an extremely safe distance to not allow the virus to spread. Nothing wrong with that!! Overall, very satisfied.We’re out in a fairly rural setting and could not get any grocery delivery to our area, until we saw a Kroger delivery truck about 2 miles from our house. Also got a teaser card in the mail. (It said, based on our address, we qualified for either delivery or shipped) First downloaded the delivery app, as instructed. As advised from within the Delivery app, also downloaded the primary Kroger app. Both apps indicated eligibility for both shipped or delivery to our place. Fast forward a week or so and an occasion arises to order some groceries and to try out Kroger so I went, what I thought was logically, to the delivery app and spent about an hour entering an order. When the order finished processing, guess what!? There was a message that said, sorry but we don’t deliver to your area…😑
We are a cancer fighting house and the occasion was that it sure would be nice to not have to leave the house for groceries, now that a service is…available? OK. So, I went to the “K” Kroger app, and after remembering 1-3 items at a time I re-entered my list in the Kroger app and my fairly large order will be here tomorrow between 9:00-10:00 AM. Happily delivered by a Kroger employee who can’t accept tips…

PickupThis is my first time following thru with this service. I tried once before in 2019, but didn’t follow thru because there isn’t as many coupons when doing and I am paying more than if I just went into the store. Now today with doing it, the same, but I am kind of forced to do this way being I have an autoimmune disease and the Covid19 happening. The saddest of all is that I went to see about disinfectant supplies, and isn’t allowing me to even load to my cart! Also with Easter candy? This isn’t helpful with it showing in stock at store, but I can’t go in the store. I can, but I want to be safe for myself, having a husband/heart disease, two children, elderly grandmother that lives right next door, and my mother/diabetes. As you can see with my closest of family we are all at a disadvantage due to our health issues that could prone us to getting or dying from this Pandemic. It’s great that the service is here, but in the end if all items in store where actually available that would be awesome and the use of all coupons and limiting them when doing pickup would also be great. Sales / Coupons MisleadingI don’t know if I’ve ever reviewed an app but today I felt I need to. Overall, the app is fine. When planning your trip in looking at the sales be certain to select the store you will be shopping in as the sales do change from one store to another. that’s reasonable given logistics of storage, etc. I live in Chicago and the sales in one store can be different from another store 2 miles away. Not an issue for me. BUT - READ ALL THE DETAILS when you select an item that is saying it is on sale. You may need to submit a purchase receipt and mail it to a place to get $1.50 back. That is discovered only after going three layers deep into the description.
AND - REVIEW YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE LEAVING THE STORE. Yeah, I bring a “cold pack” bag because I know I will spend time checking how items rang up. For example, I grab something off an endcap that showed a for sale and it did not ring up. I had to spend several minutes waiting at the service desk to get a refund because I was charged full price. The store in the New City location was gracious and apologetic. The store on Webster, acted like I was shoplifting.

Local shopperUsing the order pickup service for the first time. Just found out from my daughter today it was available! The site itself seems a little disorganized, thus pretty unwieldy. For me, it would have been much easier to shop, had all the like items been grouped together. For example, all the frozen dinners together, not interspersed around frozen sausage, ice cream, etc. Grouping like items together might not have been possible- I’m far from a software developer or website designer/manager. So this isn’t really a complaint, per se; it just would have made my online shopping a little easier. Just like in the brick and mortar store, a shopper wouldn’t go from the ice cream freezers back over to the frozen pizza section, then back to the ice cream, then back to the frozen pizzas. Just saying! If it weren’t for that, I’d give an easy 5 stars for the relative ease of browsing around the site as a whole. Also, I see I’m getting a $4.95 pickup fee waived for my first three orders. That’s great, but I should remind you WalMart pickup is always free. If you kept it free, I would tip the person bringing it to my car. Once you add on that fee, however, tipping will no longer be possible on my limited budget UNLESS you can reassure me the person bringing my order gets 100% of the surcharge. Pros and consThe app needs some improvements-It’s too hard too see if my coupons have been applied and the total for my order without almost going thru the entire checkout process. Then I have to hit the back button to edit my cart -then again go thru the checkout process again. I Need to be able to see my total and edit my cart on the same screen. I feel that I lose a lot of money by not knowing if the coupons are valid to my order. Example is buy 3 nabisco products and get 1 item free. Because I cannot examine the coupons to the items and cart total on one screen-I really don’t feel like all my discounts are being applied properly on those oddball type of coupons.
I feel that I am receiving food that is close to expiration dates and that didn’t meet security standards-I had many items delivered that were missing the safety seal and tons of box items that were set to expire in 2 weeks to a month upon receiving. The produce is a miss a lot of the time and some of the stuff-I shouldn’t even been charged for. I almost wonder if this wharehouse receives all the products that they have to get off the shelves in the stores. Another thing is there is always tons of items out of stock and it doesn’t alert me until I’m in the checkout process and a lot of the times -it’s the items that got me to start making an order and had I known that from the get-go….I would have opted not to do an order. The prices are going up like crazy now -just from within this year. Step it upKroger you have had this program long enough that we should be seeing some basic improvements by now that we have all wanted from the beginning. This stupid thing about the rotisserie chicken needs to get taken care of once and for all. If I am picking up my groceries AFTER 11:00am then you need to let me put it in my cart! If I place my order before 11 it’s a no go! I need to put my order in before I go to work and pick it up after work...and I need a rotisserie chicken or two because I am a working mom and we are the ones that use your pick up service! This brings me to the next fundamental problem with your system. Your time between order placement and available order pick up it too long!!! There are times when I need to order my groceries and I would like to pick them up in 3 hours or sooner. Why can’t that happen?
And wine! I need to be able to buy wine and pick it up! You can card me when I pick it up - hello??? If I am not 21, don’t give me the wine. And if you can get your delivery system up and running - that would be fantastic!!!

Pick up and deliveryEvery time I attempt to order groceries I have an impossible time getting the order to go through. I spent over 3 hours this morning ordering food and then all pick up and file very. Would not take my Kroger card . Please correct this. I can’t hotheadedness pick up and delivery if I cannot get it to preform as advertised. I was in the hospital yesterday until night. I started at 12:45. 3;90 pm, when I completed. Few selectionsStore is great, but the App is a little difficult to view and navigate. I love the easily added coupons. Prices are decent and comparable in most cases, especially with the coupons and had savings. The selections are not broad, very few in some cases so I can't go above a 3 star right now. Also, you really have to check the sizes when comparing prices because Kroger sales items in much smaller packages. Kroger is a much better much better store overall than its competitors and after coupons and had I would say prices are pretty competitive as well. The online ordering is a bit behind competitors but I’m confident they will catch up to build the ordering and pick up service to the high quality experienced when shopping in the store. The professionalism, courtesy, and respect for their customers is phenomenal compared to similar stores, and greatly appreciated! The app isn't the best but I think I'm going to switch to Kroger for my pickup services as well. Personally, I wish they would just run their main competitor (just across the road)out of this town! Kroger app is also great but there are few things you can improve in terms of usability. I’ll try and itemize them when I get some time, but take a look at the Walmart app. Walmart has done some really good things with their app.
Now more about the service, I think the Kroger service is WAYYY better than the Walmart service. Walmart employees and grocery delivery people have a don’t care attitude. Recently a Walmart driver said “I’m just the driver. Call Walmart”. And it turned out my missing items were indeed in his trunk. Should I say again that the No Tip policy of Krogers is super awesome :) ? I’d rather pay a bit extra and have you pay your employees a fair wage because every time I have to pay tip ( even for mediocre service) I feel like I’ve been scammed. SeamlessAll I do is browse coupons and the weekly ad. For the coupon you can choose which is relevant to what you’re looking for, Friday freebies, expiring soon, or all. your choice! And when you view a coupon you can add it to your Kroger card or not. Bonus part is you can scroll up inside that coupon and there it will tell you the product the coupon is for, how much and what size. That’s amazing! You could also see exactly what the picture of the product you are choosing. For browsing the ad you have the option of a list of the sales, same as the coupon you can choose which to look at, produce, floral, etc. You could also view the ad itself and if you want to zoom in the photo and print of the ad it is still so clear! Amazing! I’ve only used 3 grocery store apps and this is by far the BEST and most equipped to handle everything I need in one. I’ve just tried the Click to Pickup feature (I’m sure I got the name wrong) I’ll update on that later. So far so good! Great job Kroger! Slightly improved from the horrible updateThe Kroger app used to be a 5 until the update in the fall of 2025 when the app became almost unusable. It extended my app shopping time by at least 50% because of the poor interface. I reviewed in December 2025 giving it 1 star because 0 is not an option! BUT I will give credit where credit is due and now can give 3 stars since in more recent updates, some of the problems were resolved. I couldn’t get the option to add items to a pending order and issues with the shopping list hiding. Thankfully that’s been fixed. NOW my biggest issue is that we’re being almost forced into using Instacart to fulfill orders. My very first order using them last week, the Instacart person shopped my list, checked out, billing my card on file, then disappeared. Another Instacart rep started shopping a whole new order and asked me about a substitution! WHAT??!! I messaged her and told her another rep already checked out! The new rep called Instacart and told me that yes, she learned that the original rep told them that she didn’t have sufficient fuel to deliver my order. WHAT??!! I did get my order from the second driver and I did get charged for BOTH orders. After spending an hour on the phone with Kroger and having to escalate to a supervisor (which I hate hate hate to do), Kroger did satisfactorily resolve by refunding the duplicate charge. Such a very poor experience. It’s only Krogers fault for pushing customers to Instacart instead of the wonderful service I received with Kroger blue truck delivery for the last 4 years! I doubt if they will reverse that policy but I really don’t want to stop doing business with Kroger as they have been my primary grocer for 30 + years. The app is great besides one thingI have ordered groceries to be delivered on several occasions. The past two orders have been totally screwed up. When making the payment and tip it says you can alter the tip later... for example if you are not satisfied or are more satisfied than you expected. This is misinformation! I have tried to change the tip I have given okay multiple occasions and no where is there an option where you can do so. I have tried while the person is shopping and also upon arrival of my groceries. ALSO, there is no way to survey your grocery picker/deliverer. This is very frustrating. On top of it all!! The order I just received didn’t have my receipt. I have tried to reach out to customer service and they have been no help! On my last order over half of the items were refunded, most of the rest were replaced and not even replaced with comparable things. For example, my dog cannot eat dog food with chicken, I ordered beef, it said it was replaced with another beef recipe within the same brand.. upon arrival of my groceries the dog food I received was chicken.. 🤬 this is one of the very many items that were completely wrong. AND there was no receipt for me to return the items.

Newest update ruined a good serviceThe newest update now forces you to choose a substitution for any item that they *predict* to be out of stock. And they predict almost everything will be out of stock. It took an extra 30 minutes to go through the list of substitutions on my most recent order.
After you have completed the entire shopping process and you check out, You get a warning that items are low in stock. Then you are forced to choose from Kroger’s list of suggested substitutions (they show you red grapes to replace green grapes, for example). But here’s the kicker— once you add that suggested replacement, you go back through the checkout process and it tells you that the new item is now out of stock. They send you to a new list of substitutions that includes your original item, which of course you choose because that’s what you want. Then you go to checkout and it sends you back to the suggested substitutions page *that includes items that you previously chose*. Grrrre—It’s like a loop from he!! that you cannot escape. But if you walk into the store, they have both red and green grapes on the shelf. Soooooo frustrating. Surely it’s some sort of bug they will fix???.Montero 17Version: 26.2
Corporate needs to listen to their store managersThe app is very useful, don’t get me wrong. However, it’s quite frustrating after multiple orders being pushed back from a late-afternoon slot to a slot the following day. It’s unacceptable even during a pandemic. I depend on grocery orders to cook family dinners. If they can’t fulfill the order as shown in the time slot selected, the time slot should be greyed out and not able to be selected. I spoke with my local store manager in Huntsville, AL Watercress store who said that he had sent the message and frustration up to corporate but they didn’t seem to be listening nor concerned about alienating their customer base here apparently because the individual stores can’t cut off their own slot times as they overfill. The store made many changes to accommodate the surge in pickup orders but corporate needs to listen and allow or give the power to each one of the stores to remove slots that can’t be fulfilled in time if they feel necessary. This would reduce stress on employees too. They are forced to call and explain why the customers’ order won’t be ready in time and to “try and be patient.”
Kroger is basically trying to do a cash grab and lock ppl into their service whether it’s on time or not is what it seems to me. In my opinion, that’s not good customer service with a background myself in customer service. Stop pushing your customers to push towards a major competitor because Publix is making some major moves around my area. Less stress is worth the money to me! App can be hit or missThere are times where the app works great and then I’ll have issues like the free-bees section doesn’t work properly and won’t open or I’ll place an order and remember I’ve forgotten something. I go back to modify my order and continue to receive error messages. The app will state I still have plenty of time to modify my order however nothing works. Also, sometimes I’ll get a notification that my item is sold out and other times I get no notification and it’s a surprise when my order is delivered that items are not available.
As a side note, if you have an issue with your order or app, customer service representatives are hit or miss as well. Sometimes, I get a fantastic rep that can help me when I paid for an item I don’t receive or my order isn’t delivered within the delivery window and I need an update. Other times, I get a representative that isn’t helpful and doesn’t know what to do or how to help. Easy to Use and Helps Me PlanAt first I didn’t believe the hype about the Kroger app and how it was so helpful but now I don’t think I can go back to shopping how I use to. The app allows me to create my cart and plan out meals. I can add items as I am planning a meal and that helps me not forget what I need and allows me to check my cabinets to make sure I don’t have something already. While browsing online it shows me both the Kroger brand and name brand items so I can always see which is on sale and get the best deal. It also will let you clip coupons for items in your cart or you can add coupons beforehand. This app has allowed me to take advantage of my grocery budget and really get my money’s worth. I have eliminated some unnecessary spending that I usually do in the store but you can still find those items in the app just by searching. I also like the ease of the search bar and the ability to look at past orders. Prepaid Kroger Debit CardSeriously? I cannot check out with my prepaid KROGER debit card if I order groceries to be picked up? And yet I get incentive points to shop with this card? Having to use pick up after trying over 1 1/2 weeks to get deliveryI also couldn’t get a pick up date when using my phone. I called the 800# and got no answer. I was told to try later several times.
I left a message and my name and phone and never heard anything. I finally decided to call the store directly, even though I thought they couldn’t help. The woman that answered was so nice and listened to me and suggested I call the 800#, of which I explained to her I already tried it several times. She was great. I just didn’t know what to do. I decided to try to use something besides my phone and at 3 am. It let me sign up for a pickup. This is not supposed to be this hard I think. Search Option Missing in “My List”Please add the search option and UPC scanner back to the “My List” screen. When in the store shopping, I’m using my list. However, if I need to scan a product for price, search for a product, or check for an accompanying coupon, I have to back all the way out to the Home Screen for the search function. Then after searching, I have to again go to the Home Screen to get back to my list which takes several additional steps. Not sure why this was changed but it’s annoying and takes a lot of extra time. Also, if I’m in the back of the store, my list often will not reload without going to the front of the store for a better connection. All of that could be alleviated by adding the search option back to the “My List” portion of the app.
Now, with this latest update, my list no longer shows pictures of my completed items. Nor does it show the associated coupons. I have always kept my regular items on my list even if I don’t currently need them. This way, if they are on sale, I might pick them up even if I don’t need them. Since the list only shows the text portion for completed items and doesn’t show the sale price or associated coupons, I’m less likely to buy those items if I don’t currently need them.
It seems each update makes the app less user friendly instead of more.
Please put the UPC scanner back in the “list” screen. And add the pictures, sale prices, and especially coupons back to the expanded list, even for the completed items. This is making my grocery shopping much, much harder and time consuming!.Loyal. Shopper.Version: 94.3.0
Frustrating appIssue 1: Neither the Kroger app nor the website tell you when the next available pick up time is. That is always the first thing I want to know. The available pick up times used to be displayed and now they are not. So I have to place my whole order, then find out when I can pick it up, or choose to order from another store that will tell me first when I can pick up my groceries.
Issue 2: Lately there are so many items the app says they are out of in-store. Yet when I go into the store, all the items are there. It is super frustrating to place a pick up order, pick it up, then park my car and go inside for 9 extra items I tried to order via pick-up but were told they didn’t have. Tonight it was brie cheese (the app said there was no brie, from any brand in any size), arborio rice, Heritage Farm chicken breasts, fresh green beans (again, the app said there were no fresh green beans; in-store there were two different options), and fig jam. There wasn’t one item they said they were out of that actually was out of stock. If it were 2 or 3 items every now and then, I could believe they just restocked those items between the time I placed my order and the time I went into the store. But this is happening with so many items now, every time I order.

Be warned, if you have any better alternative to this app then use thatThis app would be pretty good if not for the 30 or more screwed up orders I have received over the past 4-5 years, out of 50 or 60 some orders. The amount of wildly different delivery order substitutions and removed items that were not replaced are simply, utterly ridiculous. I can’t tell you how many times I have had to reorder more groceries to replace those that I did not receive, although I did get a refund for each so that is a saving grace for Kroger. Each reorder of groceries cost another delivery fee among all other expenditures. Some substitutions for best match have included Korean inspired pork for chicken fried rice, and while that may not seem that bad, Korean inspired pork is extremely spicy while chicken fried rice, as many know, has no spiciness. Another example is vanilla ice cream for rainbow sherbert. A sensible and normal alternative? Sure, but much different and I wanted a fruit ice cream not a vanilla. Is that a bit unreasonable? Maybe, but guess that is just me. Either way, the amount of messed up orders and the additional money I spent to get what I needed is completely unacceptable and I would have switched to some other store if I had some closer store that could provide similar, and more reliable, service. Broken location can’t get or use couponsI move back to Colorado June 2021. I went in through the web, updated all my information and updated again when I moved five months ago. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I had just gotten off the phone with their customer service for over a half hour with no real resolution. But the app still thinks I’m in Tomball Texas. I can’t do store pick up. I can’t change my store. I can’t utilize digital coupons all because the location refuses to update. And when you try to manually update it or use the location button, it says that there are no stores around, even if you’re standing in a store trying to do this. I literally live 5 miles within six or seven King Soopers. And I have tried to update everything at three different King Soopers. I can’t buy half of what I normally buy because I can’t access and utilize the digital coupons in my area. I just got out of homelessness. I barely just qualify for food stamps. I literally cry when I leave the stores especially a Kroger store now because I can’t utilize any of the savings because more than half the items I get have the digital coupons attached to them so I get stuck paying for. And this world of inflation. Thank you Kroger for taking advantage. I guess after a year and a half in 2 to 3 months I’ll start getting paper coupons again. Delivery Time Change / Money Return PolicyI am writing this review only because it really upsets me that I placed an order and set my time for early in the day on my day off. After payment I realized the date they set for me was now changed to the following day and o would be at work all day so within minutes of me using my grocery money for the week I cancelled my order. I spoke with someone today which is the following Monday from when I placed my order and was told my money will not be available until the 3rd. I’m confused on why it takes a whole week to return money they never had the opportunity to create or shop for my order. Now me and my kids have not been able to get groceries as I get paid every 2 weeks. Wats the problem with my money are they getting interest on my funds I’m not fully understanding why an order that was canceled so quickly they feel the need to keep it the full 7 days out of their 3 to 5 day policy (not including weekends I might add) I will never shop from the Kroger app again due to this. Card information is correct and continues to say it’s not!I began using the Kroger click list feature a while back when it first was introduced and it was very convenient. It was something that was very easy for my family and I to do after having a newborn and then became very convenient for our work and childcare schedule. However I have not been able to use this Kroger app to order a click list since September 2018 because every time I try to it says that my debit card information is incorrect! The unfortunate truth is I don’t always have time to go and take the time to shop however it’s been convenient to be able to do it at the tip of my fingers because of this click list option. I think the click list addition was a great and convenient thing for us as working parents and in general to conveniently pick up groceries on the go. I’ve tried this with multiple debit and credit cards, all of the information being correct, but a prompt shows up insisting on saying that I have put in invalid or incorrect information when I have double and triple check the information to be correct. I’m not sure if it is just the payment feature that may be messed up but it is something that I hope someone will look into because I know for a fact the information is correct. Not user friendlyI have thought that this app was difficult to use for a long time, but the new update has made it even worse. The search feature has been changed to where you type in a simple item and the first 6 things that come up aren’t even close to what you’re looking for. Also brands that I’ve purchased previously aren’t prioritized in the search, so now instead of just typing “eggs” and seeing the Kroger brand eggs at the top, I have to remember to type in “Kroger eggs” or else scroll through 30 things to find them. The search feature is just absolutely terrible. If I type in “lemon,” the first item that comes up shouldn’t be Mtn Dew soda because it’s “lemon-lime flavored.”
Other issues: Not being able to reserve your pickup time before you make your order. The “delete item” feature that I’ve accidentally used many times and there’s no way to undo it unless you click within 3 seconds. How easy it is to accidentally add an item to your delivery cart instead of pickup without noticing, and then you wonder why you didn’t get your toilet paper and find it sitting in your delivery cart. The new feature that shows items as “in-store only.”

DPI work with customers at a Kroger store. Many of our customers are older and this app with it’s constant updates is extremely difficult to use. You need to separate the online shopping part of the app from the digital coupons and weekly ads. Many of our customers see the shelf tags with the sale price with digital coupon and try to download the digital coupon when they get to the checkout. They open the app and see the item and click on it thinking they are clipping the coupon when it is in shopping mode. Also you have waaayyy too many coupons to go through. People will be standing at the UScan checkout looking for the coupons that go with the items they are purchasing and get frustrated and and hand us their phone and tell us to find them. You need to simplify the use of the digital coupon part of the app. Remember that most people using this app are not tech savvy. Make it simple enough for your Grandmother to use. Also stop changing it every day! People don’t like change! They want to know that when they open the app they can quickly find what they are looking for!
Also Kroger customer service number listed in this app is a joke! When people call they want to speak with a PERSON, not an automated message system that transfers you to someone in a foreign country that barely speaks English including the supervisors!

First time userThis is the first time I’m using this app. Overall it’s a good app however there were a few things I didn’t like. Some items were not easy to find. When I would search, for example I would look for peaches, only three items popped up & I knew that they always had this item. So I would have to manually go under the department I wanted (canned food) and have to scroll through everything until I found the item that I wanted. That was time-consuming and an annoyance. I found out that they don’t deliver to my address so I have to pick it up instead. Another issue I had, this one I found the most aggravating, was that I couldn’t get my groceries for the day I submitted the order because they said they didn’t except orders after 3 o’clock even though they’re open until 1 AM. That’s a whole 11 hour window that they have to fulfill my order but instead it has to wait till tomorrow. I didn’t understand that. Why have a pick up option when you don’t except pickups during the majority of time that your open? I would understand if it was their last hour before closing & I submitted a huge order for them to fill. Everyone has different schedules & I think it should be convenient for everyone to use. Even for the most common work schedule it’s inconvenient, example if I wanted to put in an order before I leave from work to pick up on my way home I can’t do that because I get out at 5 & they don’t provide pickup for the time that I need. Jumping on the bandwagon…Kroger, please read and hear all the feedback people are taking the time out of their day to submit. Yes, the app could’ve use a few changes and streamlining but SO many conveniences were removed or replaced with way too many clicks to get to them. I use My Lists ALL THE TIME for creating my shopping list and for shopping in store or pick up and just to get to it now takes WAY too much effort and removing the search feature within it almost makes it a “why bother using it now?” question. I don’t want to use the Cart unless I’m doing a pick up order so the quick access to that on the Home page isn’t a solution for me. I do need to dig more into it but this KEY ISSUE could be a make or break thing for me if these are not tweaked “back” or more efficiently. Using it this weekend will definitely shed more light on it as I’m heading to the store. Needs workThe search feature needs to be more intuitive. Unless you have exact wording , you get nothing. The lists feature is such a mess. It is easy to remove items and change quantities but it is never clear if item in list has made its way into your cart. It used to be simple to find your cart but somewhere along the line the cart is impossible to find. MOST IMPORTANT please improve the share list feature. I am unable to go out at this time. I send my husband who struggles to find the items on the text version of the list. The text version of the list runs in together and is a jumbled mess unless there is a link in the text that provides the same view of the items as the app and he missed it in the text? The print version is much better but does not indicate where it is located. If it is possible to print or share your list as it appears in the app with PICTURES of the product and location in the store , please let me know. If not I suggest an update to your app. If the share feature is not clear on the other end it is useless. I would imagine that I’m not the only one that has to send others to shop for them. Overall, navigation through the app could be improved quite a bit. The appears to be patched together and lacks intuition and logical flow to make it user friendly. Expired replacement productI’ve been using the app and pick up service for several months now and overall satisfied. What I am not satisfied with is my last visit. Specifically a replacement product. I had asked for was salami. I received prepackaged Genoa salami. I have never purchased this particular product but was open to trying something different. When home, I tried a few slices. It had a really fatty consistency and tasted odd. I checked the ingredients. Ingredients seemed normal. Then I checked the expiration date (which was difficult to find and see). This product had an expiration date of March 2020. My purchase date was August 23, 2020! My next step was to call the store and alert them. Thus, the frustration begins. No one would answer the phone. I tried several different extensions with the same “non-result”. As a last result, I dialed the pick up phone number, gave a brief explanation to the girl who answered and requested to speak to a manager. Long story short, I was told no manager was available. Then I filled the survey out with all of the information I have stated here. It is now Thursday and I STILL have not heard a peep. Why have Customer Service phone numbers and surveys if you don’t follow through? I’m still waiting for a call or email. I want my money back. Please provide an OPTION for savings for senior citizens and those struggling with the technology savvy necessary to even have and maintain a cell phone. Not everyone WANTS to be glued to their phone to carry out their day to day business. You would be wise to consider the baby boomer gen is substantial in number and yes we are still aging and becoming less impressed with all the new bells and whistles of your updates and the requirements to use your app to receive the outstanding sale prices which you have been known for by your loyal shoppers.
We celebrated our 43rd wedding anniversary this year and I have shopped at Kroger/Owens for most of those years…but your requirement to use your app irritates me every time I see a “digital sale price”. What’s going on?I rely on your app for coupons and for Clicklist. (Contrary to another reviewer’s assertions that Clicklisters are “so lazy,” some of us have physical disabilities of one type or another, and Clicklist has been a godsend.) I’ve been mostly satisfied through the frequent hiccups because I value the service so much. (And they are frequent!) However, two updates ago, the app structure seems to have changed and seems less user-friendly. The app seems confused because I shop in person at one store (nearest to my house) and I pick up Clicklists at another store (because the closest does not offer the service, annoyingly). For the past few days, the entire Clicklist process on the app has been full of “technical difficulties” errors. A cart I built disappeared. So I shopped in-person for essentials and then started my cart all over again a day or so later. Encountered app “technical difficulties,” so I opted to try to continue via the website. But on the website was my OLD cart, now full of stuff I had had to pick up in person in the interim, not my new cart for the coming week. So I had to start it AGAIN, holy freaking cow. I placed my order two days before pickup, and the next day realized we were going to have unsafe driving conditions during my pickup window, so I wanted to modify my pickup time. Guess what? You CAN’T modify your time, even before the modification cut-off the night before.

PrescriptionsI have to use this app to manage my prescriptions so I don’t know about the general functionality of the rest of it, but every time I need to look at my medication I wish I was already dead instead. Even though I’m already logged into the app it makes me log in separately to look at the prescriptions tab (which is in such a weird place that I have to click on everything in the app before I remember where it actually is). I understand the extra security measures but then there’s this eternal pop up about adding facial recognition to make log in easier, which might be a good thing if it worked, but no matter how many times you set it up, you still just have to log in like normal. And the “don’t ask me again” button does nothing. By the time you’re actually double-logged-in it’s a 50/50 chance if there will be an error that makes you log in again. Also god forbid you don’t have the app completely up to date because then it won’t work at all and you have to wait to have it updated. And it updates so often this is literally every time I open it. Normally I’m in a rush trying to see if my medicine is ready so I can go pick it up, a lot of times I give up and go out of my way to the store just to check. STOP THE ANNOYING POP UP!!!!!!!!A few updates ago Kroger added a pop up screen to the app that pops up TWICE every time I open the app. Open app, close out stupid idiotic pop up screen that insists on knowing before I do anything else whether I’ll be doing pickup or delivery, despite the fact that it saves your last setting, close it out, start to type my search item in, and the pop up comes back again! Every time!!! Since we shop the same way every time, it’s particularly annoying, but even more so because people rarely if ever just go into the app once to load all their items at once and then check out immediately. No. We add things as we think of them and then check out days later. The people who made this app clearly don’t use it. Adding ingredients for an online recipe, which the vast majority of people do regularly, is an absolute time-sucking NIGHTMARE because if you are switching between screens, the Kroger app forces the pop up screen on you TWICE each time you go back to the Kroger app! Even if it’s within the same minute! I waste more time in this app closing out the stupid pop up over and over again than I used to spend wandering around the store looking for where they moved the items to. STOP DOING THIS, KROGER. STOP THE POPUP SCREEN!!!!!! Thankfully Publix just opened in my area so as soon as they start curbside pickup, I can kick Kroger’s annoying app with its stupid pop ups to the curb if they don’t bother fixing it. Will not use delivery againI was really hoping this would be a great experience using delivery for the first time. I wanted to have groceries delivered due to they were offering $1 delivery fee promotion. I ordered groceries to be delivered the same day Jan 26 (expecting some delays due to shortages which I completely understand). It is Jan 28th and I have not received any indication of when they would be delivered and it shows as still in progress on the app. So I start by calling Kroger Pickup as I wasn’t sure where to begin. The lady was very nice and told me to call Kroger delivery service as they do not deal with deliveries and she provided me with the number, so I called. Customer service apologized and said to call the Kroger store directly. So I called back to the store and got redirected back to Kroger Pickup in which the same lady told me to call Instacart directly because they deal with the deliveries. Called Instacart twice due to the first call was dropped. Both of the representatives said they could not find that an order was submitted. I explained my card was charged for the groceries so that didn’t make sense. I did not have an Instacart account as I was just using the Kroger app. The last representative apologized as she could not help me due to she couldn’t find my order. I call Kroger customer service directly as a last resort and as I was explaining my situation to the lady she kept repeating she could not help and just kept repeating to call Instacart and that they deal with the deliveries. JUST WHY?!?!?!?A few years ago when u guys did this wonderful upgrade of your app; I had not a single problem with it… nope, take that back! The pharmacy service section wasn’t linking up with the app…. You guys fixed it, took about 2 mos but it was fixed…. Worked perfectly until u guys started w this more frequent updates…. Slowly the app was no longer reliable especially when doing home delivery! I was being double charged for my groceries, I was being charged for my delivery in which I bought into the membership & was a member for 6mos at the time…. Faster n faster the app was becoming inoperable!! Well…. I decided to give it another try after a years time…. & OMG?!?!? WHAT HAPPENED??? You can’t do A SINGLE THING on the app! What happened to this app?I have enjoyed shopping with the app for weekly curbside pickup for about a year now and loved it. The latest update makes it very hard to navigate the ordering process. I usually shop by scrolling through my recent purchases with an occasional search for something else. Now after a search my list of recent purchases has disappeared and I have to navigate the site to find it again. And now, when searching for items tonight that I know you carry, the message popped up that the items could not be displayed. After about three searches I got a message that my access to the site was denied. I closed my browser and the Kroger app, then reopened the app and clicked to go back to the order online site and guess what—my access is still denied. And it couldn’t be at a worse time, with holiday dinner and parties this week I need to finish my order! Please fix this app!!!
Edited to add...I think the problems I am having are all due to everything being done in the app rather than going to Safari to order and complete purchases. Every time I go to the app it has logged me out and I have to log back in, which never happened before. Need to fix List BugsI like Kroger and the List feature on the app has always been great until the last several months. I don’t know what has happened but it feels like Kroger doesn’t really want customers to use this feature anymore so they’ve made it as annoying and difficult as possible. The app is always prompting you to add to cart for pick up or delivery rather than adding to the list to go to the store. They have a tiny button there now but it’s so close to the ‘add to cart’ button that it’s hard to select without accidentally adding to the cart. Whenever you select produce, it completely freezes the app and you have to close and restart. If an item has a coupon and you want to clip it from the list, again it goes completely blank and freezes, requiring a reboot. You can’t just have your list on the home page - you have to navigate to it through the settings every time. It’s taken me over 30 minutes just to load 6 items and I’m just done with it. I’m trying to load my Christmas list, which is probably going to be about $600 in groceries. I really like that the list will sort items by aisle and let me check them off as I go. “Search for replacement” function still not working for weeksWhen using the app on an ipad to place a Kroger order, there are options for how to substitute a different item if one is out of stock. If you choose to substitute “Specific Item,” the app will suggest related items but you can also search from there for a specific substitute item. The search function in this specific location stopped working 3-4 weeks ago. Now the response is that there are no search results, which is incorrect. When I search on the same term using in the general search bar, there are tons of results that are in stock. Example: cottage cheese. When I choose to substitute “Specific Item,” the app suggests 2 replacements I’m not interested in. When I use the search function in this specific area to choose a different substitute item, the response is “There were no results for ‘cottage.’” Even the 2 options initially suggested do not display. That’s not correct, there are lots of other in-stock cottage cheese options when doing a general search elsewhere in the app. Multiple ongoing tech issues w/the app the past few months. Shopping elsewhere until this is fixed.

Improvements neededThe app is generally reflective of the website, and neither have a user friendly interface. Searching for an item, such as “half and half”, it shows granola bars and all other items mixed in so you cannot easily find the half and half without scrolling through many other non-related products. If you try filtering it by department, such as dairy, you have to scroll through all non-related departments including some you never knew were at Kroger in order to reach dairy at the bottom (at least alphabetize the departments). Then if you want to sort by price (low to high), that is not even an option. You can only sort by a specific price range dollar amount by selecting a minimum /maximum. You really have to hunt for coupons, which cannot be easily by looking up the item. While at the store using the app I found several coupons that didn’t come up when searching the product, but only by going to the specific coupon section which is also not easy to locate without scrolling and then clicking to show all coupons. I honestly do not know how this app has the rating it does, clearly the developers do not do online shopping and are not able to create a logistical flow for the interface. The only 2 good things about the app is it ties coupons to your Kroger card, and also shows the aisles the products are in in the “shopping list”, although the last time I was at Kroger the app had vegetables listed in the meat department so while in the produce department the items in the app weren’t easy to find on the list since one naturally looks at the produce department identifier for veggies. Latest update ruins coupon experienceWe’ve been using the Kroger app for years. In the beginning, the interface was inefficient and often tedious (but still useful), but it has improved a lot over the years. But the recent update has reached an entire new level of user disdain. Now, when attempting to view coupons you have already “clipped”, the app insists upon showing the last month or so of already redeemed ( and thus no longer applicable) coupons mixed in with the remaining coupons that you might still want to use, but can no longer find easily. I get that some marketing genius thought it would be a good idea to beat us over the head with all the money we have “saved” with Kroger coupons in the past, but if it becomes more difficult to CONTINUE saving money because it is harder to actually use the new coupons, then that purpose is defeated. Please go back to sorting the redeemed coupons to the bottom of the list where they are easy enough to see when desired, but don’t get in the way of actually using the current coupons. A simple “You saved $x.xx dollars in the last 30 days” at the top of the list would be far less annoying and probably more effective..ToolGuyVersion: 86.1.0
No groceries, nobody to helpGroceries were meant to be here 3 hours ago “at the latest”. Only reason I found out they were delayed was because I called. Tried to use the app to call customer service, they have some random number on there to a dead phone line. Found customer service online and went through 20 minutes of automated nonsense to get ahold of somebody. Spent the next 20 minutes repeating the same information relayed to the automated system (automated system gave me a case number that was obviously useless). Foreign call center was pleasant. Nice guy named “Tom”. Told me it’d be the next stop (by 8pm). Here we are, nearly 10pm and still nothing. I’ve got a life and family, I can’t stay up all night waiting on groceries. I can’t cancel my order because the app doesn’t allow it and the foreign call center is now closed. Understand again, my only avenue of getting any form of updates. I FINALLY (in the middle of writing this sentence) got a call from the driver and was able to cancel. This service is a complete disaster, from the app to the customer services to the automated updated system. Literally nothing has worked in the process, and somehow I’ve gotten ripped off by a free trial. Paid reviews, or reviews from another region that the service works. Customer unhappy with Kroger’s cell phone accessJust because many people have the most updated cell phone data, my disabilities are causing me to be discriminated Against because I cannot download digital coupons, & I am appalled by the unaccessible access to areas/isles due to boxes, dollies with boxes which blocks access for me & other customers to reach shelves, find items, be able to reach fresh, frozen & various products like, bakery goods, deli items, bulk & multiple bags of 5-10 pound vegetables, pet items, laundry detergent, etc., & the staff don’t want to assist me &/or my PCA!!! This is appalling service & behavior!! Also, I have a certified service dog & employees are jumping & hollering whenever they see, are in the same area that we are shopping, embarrassing me by letting me know that they don’t deal with dogs & will walk away, laugh about my situation & will also want to know “what do you have the dog with you for!” I am concerned about these actions, comments, lack of service, & overall safety concerns every time I &/or my PCA, service dog are entering, shopping, checking out & in the parking area going & coming from the Kroger store!! The handicap parking is a joke!!! There’s no monitoring the parking with access impossible due to non-handicapped vehicles parking in these areas & no accountability for the safety of handicapped individuals parking!!!
I would appreciate the feedback & a meeting in MS - especially in the Jackson, Brandon, Clinton & Byram Kroger supervisors, managers, stocking managers & maintenance staff managers.
