Was great and now it is amazing!!!I have been in China for more almost 2 years now and I have used every available translation app since I arrived. When you are using any translator to go from English to Chinese and vise versa you learn how to write your English sentences so they translate properly, but between all of them as far as accuracy this one is the best. I have many friends here that speak almost no English and we often use this app to communicate. I have even paid for the extended offline language pack, that being said there are still a few important improvements they need to make, such as having a full English translation of all the parts of the app, once you go a little deeper into the different sections of the app including the phrase book it is only in Chinese. Whomever they hired to do the English for the translation engine should be hired again to finish the job. All in all you will not find a better app for translating English to Chinese..Version: 7.5.2
Gets the job done, but poorly designedI was looking for a reliable machine translating app that would translate from English to Cantonese. This app gets the job done but the app interface is super confusing and half of it is in Chinese. I don’t know why Chinese companies can never design user interfaces properly, especially when they have to do it in English. If this app was designed by a company based in any other country, these problems would not occur. Also, I’m guessing that the company is not even going to read the reviews in English because they don’t know English. I’m really looking forward to the day when I’m fluent in Chinese so I don’t have to deal with this. My message to everyone: LEARN CHINESE!.Version: 10.9.0
Most used translation appEspecially with the new update that translates the entire image at once, this app is so useful. I can take a screenshot of a website and quickly find out what it says. I wish I had known about this before I paid for the live translation feature on Pleco.Version: 7.5.1
What happened to the copy button?This app is (was) really good, and was my go-to translation app for many years in China. I rely on it to translate English into Chinese, which I can then paste into other apps (such as taobao). For some reason the latest version removed the “copy” button for easily copying translated text, and it’s not formatted well to do a long press, drag and copy (which wouldn’t be as convenient anyway). Still a good translator but that loses half the functionality for me, so I will be switching to another app until it is fixed..Version: 10.0.1
Pinyin lag after updateHello, I love this app, it is truly helping me on my journey to learn Chinese and live and communicate with my neighbors. But the most important function for me has started to fail since the update 3days ago. Now when I type in a word, I no longer get pinyin for the definition. So I can’t read what those characters are, or how to pronounce them. I will give three stars for now but once the bug is fixed it’s for sure a 5 star product. Excellent up until this update. Sometimes confusingSometimes when I translate Chinese to English, it just doesn’t make any sense so I can’t really get my Chinese work done but that’s just how it works. Bring the Pinyin back!!!I’ve been using this app for years now, and it’s great. With the new update however there is no pinyin. Or if there is, it’s nowhere I can find. They’ve basically changed this app so it’s only good for chinese-speakers, whereas I am an English speaker who wants to know how to say things in Chinese. Can’t translate the whole imageThis is a great app for photo translation. I frequently screenshot and use the photo translation feature. However, the screenshot fills the whole screen, and the very top and bottom cm of the photo are unable to be translated because the app interface blocks it. If photos could be resized to account for that, like in photo editing software, this app could be a 5 Star app..Version: 7.4.1
