Apple Sports App Comments & Reviews

Apple Sports Positive Reviews

Some things are missingGreat app so far Soccer related- I would add a better starting XI for soccer because the one that is on now is too simple(I would like to see who’s on the pitch and what position and who’s on the bench). Champions league, Europa league and national cups are not yet available which I hope they will when they start. I think during the match and after the match highlights and would make the app even better with stats like man of the match, who had the most touches or assists. I would like the opportunity to click on my team and check when the next game is and not only in the next seven days. It would be great if I could just go on a certain match day and save it so that a reminder gets created on that day. Eventually with more upgrades I expect to see player stats from when the season started up to the day ( not only for soccer but also nba and whatnot) UFC AND MMA would add a lot to the app The app is really really good but it could be way more if some of these thing get fixed..Version: 1.6.1

Almost the only sports app I needI really love the improvements made on this app over time. From using multiple sports apps, I’ve been seeing where the pros and cons are with this app. It’s easy to set up following scores (but not as easy to turn off spoilers when watching games) and seems like more sports are being added but surprisingly as of this time, the World Baseball Classic has started and this hasn’t been added yet. Live Activities has improved its design and has great commentary notes for plays. Due to the limitations of the iOS currently, choosing which game is the priority live activity seems impossible and adjusting multiple games on the Dynamic Island also is a lot of work. Team-centric data like schedules or players are not here yet as teams are shown league standing information. Some apps set up a notification 30 minutes before the game which I like while this app pops up when game time happens. Would be great to have buttons for the live notifications to turn on/off spoilers if you’re watching the game or don’t want to see the score at the time. Also, as much as I have teams selected, time periods like MLB Spring Training will sometimes load the games and other times show that the game is not being followed even if I follow the team. There is also a widget for this app which I wish would update more frequently, at least if the device is plugged in and charging, but that’s also an iOS issue for background updates on widgets. Overall, love the app and the integration it has with iOS, Apple TV, and Apple Watch..Version: 3.8.1

Incorporate Features & UsefulI went to write this review and see that another has commented my basic complaint months ago. To be a competitive alternative to ESPN to check scores, you need to have the Network given local location. Apple collects this info, including even the streaming and television network subscriptions on which a game is shown in any given location. Apple could draw level with ESPN for this purpose by including the network info. Apple could, in my opinion, carve out a legitimately useful novel role if they were to implement a plan for this all that makes it somewhat like “RedZone” on NFL Sunday Ticket. That is, across numerous sports, and streaming services, Apple could make carve a novel marketplace purpose for this app by making the function of the app to do what it currently does, while gathering subscription info needed to independently access certain games, and creating a multi-game viewer in their app which would be the first app to allow such a sports-centered viewing experience unlike anything on the market. Only a company in the position of Apple could make this happen. Doing so would bring viewers from individual streaming services to Apple’s App to view their games. That’s ad time, minimally, in exchange for giving the user a program to make compatible numerous games from different streaming services compatible in the same viewer. Currently, the product has none of this but it could become something a lot better..Version: 2.3

Add in what network the game is being broadcast on, and add the schedules for each sportThis is an excellent app, free from the intrusive ads seen on ESPN’s app. It’s simple, straight forward, and allows the users to select which sports, leagues (if applicable), and teams they want to follow for regular score updates. For this to be a successful app and to further enhance the user experience, Apple should consider adding the following two features: 1. Broadcast information The ability to know what network the game is being broadcast on would allow users to know if they can watch the game in their area while keeping track of other scores of happening simultaneously. 2. Full season schedules Currently, this app only shows the upcoming games for the current week and not the entire schedule for that sport. It would be very beneficial to to provide the user the ability to view the entire schedule for each sport’s current and upcoming season (if upcoming season is available). For example, ESPN’s app offers a week-by-week breakdown of the college football schedule with for the entire season, allowing users to see who’s playing in any given week. Having access to the full schedule would definitely increase the amount of users wanting to use this app..Version: 1.6.1

It’s an Ok app it’s just lacking in some areasI’ve been using this app everyday to regularly keep up with my favorite teams and leagues. Initially I realized that there was leagues missing from the app. For instance at the time I started using it I was unable to follow teams or games from the NFL. Now I can follow the NFL but other leagues and associations are still missing notably the UEFA champions league or UFC and MMA. With the teams and info that is available , the app works really well in organizing it in a modern interface allowing to choose to have the home page be organized by the teams or leagues you follow. I do wish that the upcoming games tab is easier to see your teams schedule. If you follow more than one team and you attempt to look at their upcoming schedule it will stack the games kind of like how they stack notifications in notifications center. If you don’t click on the team you wouldn’t realize that your other team necessarily played that day. The app displays odds for betting and what not but they don’t actually show what networks or apps to go to to watch these games . You would have to go to the Apple TV app to then see what networks are hosting the game. I also would like to see them just incorporated into the sports app directly..Version: 1.1.1

This has lots of potential.Apple Sports is pretty darn good. Right around the time the NBA Playoffs kicked in this became my goto app for keeping up with games. It’s certainly a better experience than ad-ridden alternatives. Everything is uncluttered and to the point. There is obviously room for improvement though. For one, there are times when the “upcoming” section is fairly inaccurate. For example, the NBA semi-finals are just about to start but it’s showing wins and losses for a series that hasn’t even started as 4-2, instead of 0-0, as if already complete. Or it will show game dates or matches that are inaccurate. Hopefully these issues are just growing pangs. Also, while this isn’t really a criticism but rather a wish. I’d like to see deeper team and player stats. Game stats are great, that’s what we’re here for, but it seems like the next logical step would be to provide stats for at least the season for individual players and teams. Right now you can see game stats, play-by-plays and even betting odds but we can’t click a player’s name in the “Box Scores” to see how this game compares to their season averages or game to game? Or even a team’s season stats? Seems odd to have to leave the app to go find that info elsewhere. Early days though..Version: 1.2.1

Need a little bit of improvement.I believe this app could be so so much better if they could put the information as to where the game is being played on what television network or streaming services. Also, this app could be so much nicer if you could view the score of previous games. I would like to see every score of every game for the whole year. That would be awesome. It would also be nice if we could see the rankings for all the sports here in the app as well. I like how on the iPhone there is this thing called live view. Where you can view the live score right from the lock screen or from the dynamic island that shows you a live score of the game. Now, if you all could just duplicate that and bring that to the Apple Watch. This app would be quite amazing if you ask me. Please give this some major consideration and thoughts. And there are other people out there that have made. Comments about this app and what they are wanting added is also things to look at please. Those people make good valid points and this app could be such an amazing things are added like we want..Version: 2.3

Decent start, but needs some refining and extra featuresI like the simple approach to the app, much less congested feeling than ESPN and other sports apps. You don’t have to scroll by half a dozen stories you don’t care about to see the scores. However, I would like to see some basic features added. The main thing I’d like to see is a tab to look at standings in each league without having to click into a game and then scrolling to the bottom of that score - it’s a little counterintuitive to hide the standings there. I’d also like to see it expanded so you can view overall standings and wild card standings for sports that use that system. The Apple TV feature could be slightly improved as well by just including all the stations that a game is on. I don’t have Sling, but could watch the game on my RSN however when you open the tab the only option shown for a particular game is Sling. If I also see the station listed I have others ways to watch the game that I’d miss out on if I just closed it after realizing I don’t have Sling. Sorting upcoming by sport would be helpful as well instead of just sorting by start time..Version: 1.1.1

Absolutely Essential for Sports Fans! The Apple Sports app is a game-changer! It keeps you up to date on all the sports with lightning-fast scores, real-time updates, and clean, easy-to-navigate stats. Whether I’m following NBA, NFL, MLB, soccer, or college games, everything loads instantly and the interface feels perfectly tailored for quick checks during the day or deep dives when I have time. I love how it pulls in all my favorite teams and leagues automatically, delivers personalized notifications without being overwhelming, and even shows highlights and key moments right there in the app. No clutter, no ads interrupting the flow—just pure, reliable sports coverage that actually respects my time. If you’re a sports fan, this app is a must-have. It has completely replaced every other sports score app I used before. Five stars all the way—Apple knocked it out of the park with this one! 🏆🏈⚾️.Version: 3.9

Decent Start - Lot of potentialI love the idea of a built in, minimalistic sports app that isn’t loaded with ads and trackers like most of the major sports apps are. The layout is simple and the design is smooth. The availability of stats and play by pay provides a nice balance of detail without sacrificing too much minimalism. There are really a couple of things that are holding me back from using it more. The first is better integration with other features Apple apps already offer. I should be able to start a live activity directly from the Sports app rather than going to find the game in the TV app. I should also not have to wait until the game actually starts to link to the game page in the TV app - if I want to place a game in Up Next so that I don’t forget to tune in, the Sports app doesn’t help me at all. Finally, it would be nice if player pages were viewable by clicking on a player’s name in the box score/stats tab. Even if all this did would bring up the information that shows when you search a player in Siri, it would still provide a more direct way to view more info about a player..Version: 1.5

Great on iPhone, needs better iPad supportThe play-by-play feature is great and delivers second by second updates, even on the home screen, performance depending on your internet connection of course. The stat sheets/box score sections are also really helpful, giving quick important info that's updated fairly quickly, like pts., rebounds assists & PF's (basketball stats), and isn't visually busy. I would actually like a couple more stats but then I guess it would crowd the screen. Would also like a link to the official websites of these teams/leagues for more stats & info (might have already, but didn't notice any). Overall, the app gives high-lvl overviews of games, mainly just the score, stats, play-by-play, which is what majority of us care for anyway. **Biggest issue**: App layout is great on iPhone but isn't well integrated for iPad use, using the same aspect ratio and everything. The home screen live activity stuff works well on both devices, but the actual app UI really wasn't at all adjusted for iPad which is annoying..Version: 2.2

Great app, 1 content issueThe app has a clean UI and very intuitive to navigate. There’s no ads and unnecessary content so it delivers exactly what you want very well. The one issue I have with the quality of the content it delivers is with the team stats category. Underneath a given stat, there’s a bar that displays how much a team is “winning” the category. In football terms, if the blue team has scored 5 touchdowns vs the red team that has scored 0, the app would show a blue bar fully through the bottom. If the blue team had 3 touchdowns vs the red team had 1, the blue bar would fill 75% of the space through. This is pretty intuitive given that having more touchdowns in football generally means you’re leading. This type of intuitive visual is seen in other sports apps like Bleacher Report. Where Apple Sports fails, is it perceives any category that a team has more than the other as “winning”. Generally this is true (like with touchdowns or completed passes, etc), however there’s many stats shown where leading isn’t always “winning” the stat. Like with turnovers or fouls, generally “winning” the stat means you have less of the amount not more. In the Apple Sports app though, the blue team with 3 turnovers vs the red team with 1 would show a 75% blue bar as if they’re “winning” the stat when in reality it’s the red team “winning” the stat and the red bar should be 75%. Intuitively, this makes sense since you don’t want more turnovers or fouls. This is something reflected in other sports apps too like Bleacher Report which would show the red team with a 75% bar in the above scenario, “winning” the stat. In the simplest way, the bar should give a simple show of who’s winning a category and obviously a team with 20 turnovers isn’t winning that stat vs a team with 0 turnovers. If Apple fixed this issue, the quality of the app would be top notch. Aside from this, it’s a great app though..Version: 2.8

Improved but still lackingLast year I had nothing to do with this app because it was missing football, which is what I wanted it for. Apple has now added both NFL and college football and I really like it. It looks good, info during games is up to date, and stats and play-by-play make checking into a game easy and “watchable” if for some reason I can’t actually watch live video (such as it not playing locally or I’m busy with something else). The reason I’m only giving three stars though is it is missing features that really should be added by now. There is no Apple Watch app for quick check in or tracking. There is no widget for either Home Screen or Lock Screen. It also doesn’t provide live updates in the “island” on iPhone 15. These are features that have been added by Chick-fil-A so I think Apple can add them too. The iPad can be found on the iPad, but it is exactly like the iPhone app and doesn’t take advantage of the increased screen space like ESPN’s app does. I hope to see improvements but until then this will be more of a nice to have app rather than an important one..Version: 1.6.1

Live Activities too quick on the drawLove this app, it’s good looking, gives great information, and obviously being a native Apple app the live activities are second to none. My problem is is that 90% of the sports that I watch are on some kind of a streaming app, and the live updates push on this app a solid 30-60 seconds before the play happens on streaming. I always try to make sure that I’m completely caught up with the stream, but I essentially have to put my phone in silent mode so that I don’t see that a touchdown, or run, or goal is scored on the app well before I see it happen live on TV. Every other sports app that I use that has a live activities option, the live activities window is ugly and does not contain as much information when you click on it, but it pushes the update slower so that the score update happens after it happens on my streaming. If Apple sports could just slow their roll on scoring updates, it would be the only sports app I use. 😂.Version: 2.7

Needs more accessibility to in-depth informationI really love the look of this app. It’s sleek, fluid, and feels great to use with the iPhone. My biggest complaint is that there is simply just not enough information available to view. I understand that this app is being improved but I feel the ability to see a team’s past and future schedule should be a basic option for any sports app. I am using the NFL as an example and there is no option to click on the team from the standings and view any sort of schedule/past games. Furthermore, there needs to be an option to click on players from each roster and view at the very least their full name and position, I mean come on seriously? Baseline game statistics aren’t going to cut it in the long run, people want to see averages, season stats, etc. “The Score” app does this very well and I hope to see these additions added in the future. I do think Apple Sports has potential to be a top sports app, but it’s just not quite there yet..Version: 3.4

Pretty sleek and easy to use, but no team schedules, no widgets…I have long been in search of the perfect sports scores app. For too long ESPN failed to innovate their app and just assumed monopoly of the sector. The app “Sports Alerts” is the best I have found, very customizable, live scores for every sport known to man, even my beloved college baseball, they also have the best widget scoreboards you can find. Apple Sports pros- With that said, I really enjoy Apple Sports for what it is, a well done app that is super aesthetically pleasing, by far the best sports app athletically you will find. Love the way they display the scores of all your favorites in a simple elegant way, just looks like Apple made it. What I really love about it is the live scoring on your Lock Screen or at the top of the screen if your using your phone, it is the most live updating app I have seen as well, you can watch the clock tick on the app, and it’s ahead of streaming television. The cons- it is a cool app that I feel like was just pushed out with the bare minimum, like a first draft, or prototype that accidentally hit the market a year early, and I really hope they add more sports, more leagues, more info for your favorite teams like rosters, schedules, and team and player stats. If you could take the functionality and detailed approach of Sports Alerts, and marry it with the aesthetics and ease of operation of Apple Sports, you’d have the best sports app in human history.Version: 2.2

Off to a Good Start — Needs ImprovementsIt’s been quite a while since I’ve downloaded this app. But it really needs is to spice things up a bit, but will this affect on having the same concept as adding Apple News to this app, for example, the Stocks app. Have a quick access to what’s going on with the overall results of the games. However, there are quite minimum amount of leagues and sports to pick from to track real time scores and stats. I don’t see any other international leagues nor any sports to track. Hopefully, in the coming updates, we expect more sports, leagues and even teams from all over the world. Also one more thing, this app must be compatible with iPad, because the UI isn’t what I’ve expected, it doesn’t take the whole screen, it’s more of your average iPhone display..Version: 2.0

Almost perfect, but…Ok so this is nearly a perfect app, I just have a few grievances that would make it better. First, since the day I’ve downloaded this app it’s had an issue with not actually showing the teams in my “favorites” list that I specifically have the live notifications on for on my homescreen when the game actually starts. Also happens sometimes for other games I’d like to follow day of where the live notifications just don’t start and I have to go manually turn it off/on again. Another suggestion is to let me save games to follow prior to the day-of. Secondly, PLEASE add AUSL, MLV, and PWHL (maybe Unrivaled as well). No other sports apps have these leagues yet (not even ESPN, who airs some of the games) and it’s a massive void in the market you could fill. Third, also please consider making a ‘folder’ or some sort for the ridiculous amount of soccer leagues. They take up so much space and I personally don’t care about soccer so it’s just annoying clutter and even more annoying that there’s 15 soccer leagues while some of the pro women’s leagues or college sports worth following are still missing. The “football” fans can deal with an extra tap. My final suggestion may be just allowing us to follow players for certain sports like tennis and golf. I don’t need to see all the WTA or ATP matches at a tournament when I could just see the 3-4 players I care about the most..Version: 3.7

It’s….fine.I love that the app is very stripped down and basic. It has great aesthetics. But it’s arrangements seem haphazard, and I wish I could have some control of it. Like, basically at this point in the year, I’m only following college basketball, and I follow a lot if leagues(rather than just a couple of teams. I wish I could group these games by league. Like all Big 10 games grouped, all SEC games grouped, etc. And have those groups collapsible. I understand that the default is that the games are arranged by start time(which would great for the post-season), but in the regular season games usually start in blocks, and this makes the arrangement something that users have to search and scroll through. Additionally, when looking at the box scores. Advanced stats like ‘Player +/-‘ are fine, but it’s probably only worthwhile for fantasy basketball fans(and fantasy college basketball is pretty rare). Instead, tracking ‘Personal Fouls’ would be better and more informative..Version: 1.0

Great but could be betterLove this app it’s great and truly live, sometimes an issue if you forget to turn off live activities for a game you’re watching 💀. I would give five stars but I miss having all the games in today listed by start time not league, as many I’m a multi sport fan and it’s nice to be able to check in on other teams in the league but having to scroll all the way through all the ended games in one league to see the live games in another really takes away from the seamless and simplicity I found it had before. Another thing as others have said would be more stats, in matchups for baseball the starting pitchers could have their season totals and averages like the batters but instead they have all 0. Would also be nice to have the option to minimize leagues in the today view since we can’t have all live games at the top together any more..Version: 3.3

Great work but..I absolutely love the app, especially its unique design. However, we could benefit from a few enhancements. Firstly, implementing a player rating system would be fantastic. Secondly, updating the table immediately after each game would be a significant improvement. Lastly, having a widget on the lockscreen to preview the next game would be incredibly useful. For instance, if there’s a game scheduled for tomorrow, we could easily view the team badges, names, and times. Additionally, expanding the app to include more leagues and games, such as WC qualifiers and national teams, would make it even more comprehensive. If these features were added, the app would undoubtedly become the best sports app available. Despite these suggestions, I still highly recommend the app. It’s my primary sports app..Version: 3.3

Some Minor BugsI remember when this app first launched, and how bare it was, and now this thing is packed full with life. It has came a long way since launch, however there are somethings that I think you could improve on. Potentially, add more sports leagues, heck even minor leagues, also can you make it so where the upcoming is collapsed into day by day automatically, it is not a big problem although it is tedious, especially during the NFL. A bug I’d like to call out is the manor of how y’all show who got a goal in hockey, sometimes it shows the final score correctly, but if you add the goals individually it doesn’t add up right. I think it repeats and shows who scored twice, I don’t know, I’m just pointing it out, try for yourself and you’ll see what I mean. Also can you add more sports like college baseball, college hockey, college softball, heck can you add minor leagues..Version: 3.9

It’s not SOCCER, it’s FOOTBALL (the real one)Look, I grew up calling it fútbol long before anyone tried to rebrand it as “soccer.” Apple Sports understands what matters: the beautiful game, live, clean, and fast. No clutter, no endless scrolling through sports I didn’t ask for — just the score, the minute, and the pulse of the match right on my wrist or lock screen. The app does one thing and does it well: it treats football like football. Real football. The one played with your feet. The one where 4 billion people don’t need a timeout every 30 seconds to sell you a truck. Live scores update instantly. Lineups are clear. The interface is minimal in the best possible way — like a well-weighted pass, nothing wasted. If you follow La Liga, the Premier League, or any league worth following, this app just works. My only request to Apple: please, in a future update, make “Football” the default label. We were here first..Version: 3.8.1

Live Activites spoil the actionDon’t use Live Activities for games you are actively watching, because the 20-plus second broadcast delay means you will find out about goals from the Live Activities 20 seconds before you actually see them happen. If you’re bothered by spoilers as much as I apparently am, I would recommend disabling all Live Activities for the teams you regularly watch. This is the most serious issue with the app, but otherwise it’s a useful tool to follow *some of* your favorite teams (I’m not holding my breath for USL League 1 to get added). The level of information greatly depends on the individual league: college football games don’t even have a game clock, just the quarter. If you’re passionate about one specific team or league, there are other, better places to get all the same information and more, but this covers most of the basics (plus betting odds, for whatever reason)..Version: 3.3

Apple Sports App!!I love using this app because it’s so easy to use and understand. Getting around it is a breeze, so I can always find what I’m looking for. One of my favorite things is that I can keep up with my favorite teams and watch their games live. I can quickly share the game details with my friends, which makes it a blast to stay connected and chat about the game as it unfolds. The real-time updates are amazing—I get notifications for every play right on my phone, even when I’m not unlocking it. Plus, the app gives me live scores, team stats, and all the latest info, so I’m always in the know, no matter where I am. Overall, it makes for a really fun sports experience that feels like I’m always part of the action..Version: 3.6

Clean and simpleI mainly use this for F1. While it’s not the most “extensive” app out there for tracking information on sports, the app is really clean and easy to use. I like that the app isn’t just showing me information on every sport under the sun that I have zero interest in keeping up with. More features would ALWAYS be appreciated. For example, it would be really cool if I could either see the track layouts with some statistics, possibly even a live overview using the track map. Considering this is a free app, I don’t expect to be able to watch the race on there but extra visuals and statistics would be great. Other than that, I’d really just love to see true widgets being added other than just the live view thing so I can view driver/constructor standings and maybe the race schedule for the upcoming Grand Prix..Version: 2.7

Nice design, but lacking a lot of featuresIn typical Apple fashion, the Sports app is beautifully designed. However it’s lacking a lot of features for it to compete with other sports apps. First, the NFL is completely missing … not a big deal yet as it’s the offseason. They’ll probably get a deal worked out with the NFL in time for the upcoming season. There is also a notable lack of other leagues … especially college. Until the NFL and other leagues are added it won’t be a good sports app for most people. Second, for each game there is an overall summary with key stats, but nothing broken down period by period (or quarter or half). There is also very detailed play-by-play, but nothing like game highlights to filter it by (scoring, penalties, etc). So the game summary is too high level, and the play-by-play is too much detail. Third, there is no league / conference / division standings … nor playoff / wildcard standings. Within each game there are some standing, but you can’t access those just by looking at the overall league. Fourth, no leaderboard for player stats at all. They have a “box score” with stats within each game, but no overall leaderboard for various stats / positions at the league / conference / division level. I’m hoping that the app will automatically trigger Live Activities on my iPhone 12 like some other sports apps do, but haven’t seen that yet. Would be very disappointing if Apple Sports didn’t support this uniquely Apple live activity for games. Bottom line, an OK start for an app, but missing a lot. It won’t be replacing my other sports apps any time soon and maybe I’ll check back on it ins year or two..Version: 1.0

Love this appI've really been enjoying the Apple Sports app. Nails the clean, simple interface Apple is known for. The layout is intuitive, the design is minimal without being empty, and the real-time stats and updates are on par with other sports apps out there. It delivers exactly what I need without the clutter. My only gripe is with the Dynamic Island notifications during live games. While I appreciate the live updates, dismissing them when using other apps can be frustrating. More often than not, a simple swipe to remove the alert ends up opening the app instead, which disrupts the experience. No other app's notifications behave quite this way. Still, it's a solid app overall, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it evolves.Version: 2.7

Great, but…This app is amazing. I love it. It has so many sports, and the live activities are great. There is space for more sports, like PGA Tour or more college sports, but there are a lot as is. But since the major Liquid Glass update, it’s been very annoying with Live Activities. A while ago, they added where your favorite teams would automatically have a Live Activity. That has never worked, but I’ve never payed much mind. Now, since that Liquid Glass update, teams that are outside of my favorites no longer auto follow, even when I tell them to. It’s annoying, especially with football getting ready to hit the heart of its season. Please fix this at some point Apple! I know I’m not alone with auto follow either..Version: 3.3

Good, but could be greatWhile the clean simple look of this app with only scores and stats is probably my favorite thing about it, it’s still needing some tweaks to get it to become the most complete sports app out there. Whats lacking is tailored headlines and game recaps/video highlights for the teams and sports you follow directly within the app. To me it’s a little too much effort to have to toggle over to the news app to get stories and articles related to the teams you follow. Sure other apps have this but you usually get bombarded with ads or stories you don’t care about. Whats also missing is team schedules with past and upcoming games. And not having golf is a big miss here. Including a PGA tour feed and leaderboard to follow in addition to what else I mentioned and you’ll have a 5 star app in no time..Version: 2.6

Great start, missing 4 key things in my opinion…Apple Sports is off to a great start as a new app, delivering a sleek design and easy navigation. However, there are a few features that would elevate the experience. First, device compatibility is limited to the iPhone. Expanding it to the iPad would provide an opportunity for a more immersive visual and metric experience. Additionally, it would be great to see an integrated feature showing where to watch or listen to the game, and a full schedule for each team would be a valuable addition for avid sports fans. Finally, including UFC (MMA) events and the ability to follow fighters for updates would be the cherry on top! Overall, it's a solid beginning, and with these added features, it could quickly become a go-to sports app..Version: 2.0

Very nice app with one massive issueThis app is nice because of the streamlined interface and the integration with iPhone, Apple Watch so that scores for your favorite teams, clubs and leagues are always in view if you so choose. The downside is the live score pop-ups are a nightmare to get off your screen. Apple, please fix this. All that’s needed is for this to work cleanly with a directional swipe on the pop up to dispatch it. Currently, swiping any direction swaps from whatever you’re currently doing to the Apple Sports app. This is literally one of the most frustrating things on the planet. Just make it so dispatching the pop up is as simple as swiping it off the screen. If I want to open the app, I know I can tap on the pop up. Holy moly man— unbelievably frustrating. Also, why no support for SO MANY things (ie. Golf, tennis, UFC, NCAA baseball, UEFA Nations League, etc)?.Version: 2.8

Add International Soccer and Cup competitionsGreat app. Give me just the scores and basic information without ads and a bunch of opinion pieces dressed up as “news”. I can’t believe how many reviewers are completely missing the point with this app. It’s not trying to compete with ESPN but rather offer basic in-game scores and info without all the other distractions. If you want more than scores use a different app. I get that Apple will add more sports as those league begin play but where’s the international soccer and cup competitions? We’re heading into an international break from club soccer and we’ve got nothing. Same thing for Champions league and Europa league. Not to mention CONCACAF Nations league and the Copa - both completions the US is playing in. Given how basic the app is, I can’t imagine it’s that hard or resource intensive to add new sports and competitions..Version: 1.1

Amazing app but need more customization optionsAs someone who primarily follows soccer, I would greatly appreciate the ability to filter content so that only relevant matches and teams are shown. Currently, seeing unrelated content when looking for a game in my search results and from different leagues creates a less focused experience. Additionally, enhancing the atmosphere within the app—perhaps by incorporating more fan-centric features or ambient crowd noise that reflects real soccer fandom—could make the experience more immersive and engaging. With major events approaching, it’s crucial to refine these details to position the app as the go-to platform for sports fans. This is an opportunity to lead the market, not settle for second place..Version: 2.7

So closeThe look and feel of this app is great. Functionality has improved since first released and I can now more easily check on my favorite teams and league scores. But it is still lacking a couple of key things. First and most important is the app needs to show what network the team’s current game is being broadcast on. Second I want to be able to click into a team and see their detailed record of wins and losses so far this season as well as their scheduled games for the remainder of the season. Third I would like to be able to click into a team and see their detailed record current roster. Add these things and I would give the app 5 stars and would make this my go to app over the very annoying and glitchy ESPN app..Version: 2.0

Notifications IssueThere is a notification bug. When receiving a score notification from the app in the Dynamic Island the score keeps popping up and not reversing back to the original position in the Dynamic Island even when try to swipe off the notification from being popped up it get buggy and open the app fully it’s really annoying. The app it should pop up when you get a notification and then go back to normal in Dynamic Island but it’s not doing that. This message is for the developers of the app and it’s not a review of the app. I’m going to leave 5 stars for the app is because the idea is there but not quite yet perfect..Version: 2.3

So close to amazing, but one massive missing featureThis app is the best app for the features that it has (current scores, live tracking, yesterday’s scores, upcoming games). Extremely elegant and simple to use. No adds constantly in your face. However, there is one basic feature missing that forces to me to use ESPN: Historical scores/stats prior to “yesterday” are not available. If it’s Wednesday and you want to see previous scores from the NFL, you have to use another app. There are other feature (like adding TV provider for games, more leagues) that could also improve it, but if historical scores/stats were available, I think this would immediately become the best sports app available for scores/stats/tracking..Version: 2.0

Great Potential, But Missing Key FeaturesApple Sports is a solid app with a sleek design and easy navigation. It’s great for tracking scores and updates for popular sports like football and basketball. However, I’m extremely disappointed by the lack of support for other sports and Live Activities. NASCAR, IndyCar, F1, and the Olympics are major events that deserve coverage in this app. Moreover, it’s quite frustrating that when watching a basketball game, you can’t see the number of fouls each player has. This is a crucial detail that should be readily available. Apple, please fix these issues. Expand your sports coverage and add these essential features. Without these improvements, I might hesitate to recommend this app to others. There’s so much potential here, but it needs to be fully realized..Version: 1.5

Apple Flair, lacking featuresAs a typical Cishet white man I love sports. I keep track of my chosen teams religiously, and I will defend them to the death. Naturally, when I saw this app on my page I immediately downloaded it. The premise was illustrious: a single place to keep track of all my teams. I opened the app and found my favorite Hockey and Baseball teams already set. Alas, crushing disappointment ensued. The NBA, the NHL, MLS, The Premiere League, MLB. All American,* all the best leagues in their sport. Yet one of the biggest names is missing. Where, oh Apple gods on high, where is the NFL? The National Football League is the single biggest sport in America. Yet still there is no way to track or watch her games in Apple’s apps. Should the NFL be added to this app’s repertoire of leagues, then this app will be 5 stars. Until then, i must leave it with only 3..Version: 1.0

Like the quick glance, a little more substanceI’ve been using the Apple Sports app and found it to be a great resource for live scores and stats. The app is easy to navigate, and I appreciate how it connects with Apple News to provide some additional context. However, I wish it included more comprehensive features like game highlights and detailed news coverage. For users who want a quick glance at scores and stats, this app is a solid choice. But if you’re looking for something more in-depth, it might fall short. A great reference for improvement would be The Score app, which offers a more robust set of features. Overall, it’s a convenient app for quick updates but could benefit from broader coverage and game highlights..Version: 2.3

Great appVery good app. Would like to see some other leagues added - Canadian Football League - Canadian Hockey League - World junior hockey championships - NCAA Hockey.Version: 2.3

Missing Canadian LeaguesPlease add the Canadian Football League and the Canadian Premier League to the listings. Add those and it’s the perfect app for me..Version: 2.3

Missing somethingThis app is missing CFL (Canadian Football League). I want to see how the Montreal Alouettes are doing. Also not all Italian soccer teams are listed such as Bari..Version: 1.0

App feels unfinishedPlease add live notification and Dynamic Island support..Version: 1.0

Needs PWHLLoved it for baseball season, but now that it’s November it’s time for women’s hockey! Would love to see PWHL added..Version: 3.4

Needs the CFL!Needs support for the Canadian Football League, AA Baseball and CEBL. Also needs widget support..Version: 2.8

Add PWHLLove this app. Often faster than the live broadcast. Please add PWHL.Version: 4.0

Great Start. The app is very nicely laid out but since it is new; there are a few leagues that are noticeably absent: CFL, PGA, PWHL, NLL. Looking forward to those additions..Version: 1.2.1

Missing a leagueThey haven’t added the CFL so I can’t see the tiger cats.Version: 1.4.1

Women’s HockeyWhy isn’t the PWHL on this App?.Version: 4.0

Great app but would be even better with…Great app, love the interface and ease of use. But really need PWHL and CEBL added, please!.Version: 3.10

Overall a great appIt’s intuitive, and updates quickly. I just really wish it included PWHL! They just played the Walter Cup Finals (the PWHL’s version of the NHL’s Stanley Cup) and I was so shocked Apple Sports didn’t feature the scores. This is the 3rd season for the women’s professional league, with 3 more expansion teams named for the 2026/2027 season. It would be nice to be able to follow via the app, on nights we can’t watch!.Version: 4.0

Missing leaguesMissing Canadian Football league and PWHL.Version: 3.10

Would love to see the PWHL addedWould love to see the PWHL, NSL and other women’s leagues.Version: 3.10

Add NLLAdd the National Lacrosse League.Version: 2.8

Best Sports AppI honestly believe this is the best sports app available, but in order to get 5 stars from me please add the CFL and NCAA football.Version: 2.8

Where is the CFLStill a bit buggy with scoring delays or score rollbacks. Biggest flaw: still no CFL ?!?!? Even the iOS Google App proposes CFL live scores on the locked screen..Version: 2.8

Very limited coverage, consider expanding. With lacrosse being the fastest growing game in the world, please consider including NLL, PLL and NCAA on the app..Version: 2.4

Please add CFL and Canadian SoccerGreat go-to app for scores and realtime stats. Missing Canadian football and soccer leagues..Version: 2.7

Missing LeaguesMissing CFL & QMJHL..Version: 2.7

Solid app but please stop spoiling outcomes of live games. Please add a time delay feature!I will be watching a live game on cable tv or streaming app and the Apple Sports app is always notifying me of scoring plays (goals, touchdowns) before they happen. I love this app but have had to disable live score updates to avoid spoiling the outcomes. Please add a time delay so I can reenable this feature..Version: 2.6

AmazingAmazing.Version: 4.0

Needs Rugby 🏉 a real sport.Great app just needs more sports.Version: 2.3

IPadPls add iPad compatibility.Version: 2.3

Missing Teams and LeaguesFor Canadians we are missing out on our Canadian Football League. That’s one of the main reasons I wanted to used this app. I have to use another app just to follow the Hamilton Tiger Cats. Fix this and I would change my rating..Version: 2.1

CFL missingI’m more interested in the Canadian Football League and NHL (which is in the app). Would really like to see the CFL in the app. Would be awesome if Formula 1 (F1) and UFC was in the app. Those three would complete the app for me. 5 stars if had at least CFL..Version: 1.4.1

CFL is missing!Agree that there is important leagues and teams missing..Version: 1.3

Missing leagueAdd CFL football league and teams before beginning season!!! And add live game on Lock Screen your late about that!!!.Version: 1.2.1

Why no Dynamic Island supportThis could be a great app if they supported their own Dynamic Island that they are pushing for in third parties but don’t do it in their own app?.Version: 1.1

Solid FoundationThere is a solid foundation for great sports app here but there are a lot of key features missing. Things like more detailed views of leagues and standings, more supported leagues, and domestic + European cups for football competitions. Critically, Apple will also need to implement live activities to set this app apart from the rest..Version: 1.0

No widget ???!Common @Apple no widget ??! Seriously ????.Version: 1.0
