Screen Mirroring App: Smart TV Negative Reviews
Total disappointmentI recently downloaded it hoping it would make it easy to mirror my iPhone screen to my TV, but it was a complete letdown. Right from the start, the app didn’t work as promised. Despite being on the same Wi-Fi network, it failed to connect to my TV, and the troubleshooting steps didn’t help at all.
What’s worse is that the app pushes you to subscribe almost immediately, even before you can test if it actually works. I tried using the trial, but the app kept crashing, and the audio didn’t sync properly when it did manage to connect briefly. The video quality was also terrible—it looked pixelated and laggy, making it impossible to watch anything.
Overall, this app feels like a scam. It doesn’t deliver on its basic functionality, and the subscription model is way too aggressive for something that doesn’t even work properly. SCAM DO NOT “GET”I tried this app because i wanted to cast specific things from my phone to my tv and this app was completely useless. It would “connect” to the tv but the screen would be black. I did the free trail and cancelled but was still forced to pay a monthly subscription. I cancelled at the beginning of September and was billed for a week in late September. I was forced to pay for a app i only used once. I say forced because apple would not allow me to download any other apps until this subscription was paid for as it was “past due”. Mind you i cancelled this service in early September and had received a refund from apple as i never used the app but in late September this app charged me again! Complete review for those who are considering:Before downloading the app, I scrolled through some reviews as I was very skeptic about the whole thing. I scrolled one stars and five stars as well is mid-ratings respectively and found it quite a scam.
The one stars seemed fairly genuine talking about issues with lag and screen casting ability in general. There was one that even exposed a so called scam interface that the app uses which was replied by the app with a 3-day free trial offer that is already offered in the app itself…
The five stars sounded very scam-generated. They were all-praising of the app and very positive, talking about complete opposite details that the one stars talked about (“no lag! Runs smoothly! Connected instantly! Perfect app!”). Those were also replied to by the app with terrible poems and cheesy “we love you so much!”s with lots of emojis.
These made me chuckle to myself and even more skeptic of the app.
So I downloaded it just to test it, and the first thing it does is tell you about how great the app is while offering different payment options (as well as the three-day free trial) without even giving you access to the app itself.

Free trial??I downloaded this app for the free trial to see if it would work on my device using Bluetooth. It does not work without Wi-Fi. I cannot cancel this subscription anywhere within the app. I sent several emails saying I want to cancel the subscription. The app said that you can cancel anytime. Additionally, it said that you have a three day free trial. I knew this app would not do what I needed within 10 minutes. My major issue is that there is nowhere within the app to cancel the subscription. At this point, I have not received any email response. I’m not sure if that is how they expect one to cancel the subscription. This app may be very good at what it does however, it doesn’t do what I need. It does feel like a scam however, I’m not sure. Does not do what the App claims, and would not give a refund!The App has a 3-days free trial, but somewhat it tricked me to do a yearly subscription. It connected to my TV but could not do screen mirroring. I was able to use the App as a remote control, but that is not why I bought it. Contacted Apple the next day and explained why I am requesting a refund, but they denied it. I guess they get a share from the purchase! Never buying Apple apps again without using the free trial.
I contacted support and they gave me instructions that I already was following from the App directions. Contacted support again that I tried these instructions with no luck, but they responded with the same generic instructions. They apologized they can’t do a refund because that is handled by Apple.

UPDATE: The developer said that not all subscription plan have free trials report. This is psychological tricks used by scammers to make you think that you have to pay when you fall into their trap. Why didnt they say it clearly that I have to subscribe the weekly plan to get free trial? Why free trials only come with the more expensive weekly plan? They bank on the fact that many people will chose yearly subscription to steal their money. Not workingGot the app to watch a volleyball game as we always do and it won’t pick up the video. We have use screen monitoring for months now and our other monitoring app expired so we thought we would try this one. Clicked on the tv, we have Google TV, as we only have one and the picture of the app shows up then nothing. We have watch over 12 games with screen monitoring from the other app and never had a problem. So we paid for this and it’s not working. I cancelled it but that doesn’t get our money back. Very glitchy, slow for a paid app , and can’t even rotate my phone to show full screenI got the app just today starting off it took a while to get the app downloaded onto the tv as for some reason it couldn’t find it. LagsI got the app so that I could cast my phone screen to the Samsung tv. It works but lags almost a whole minute behind, kind of pointless to pay a whole subscription if it barely works. I don’t mind subscriptions but if it’s going to be that far behind I really don’t see the point in it. Scammers ZERO starsI signed up for a three day free trial with annual subscription to start thereafter. the app didn’t work so I went to cancel the free trial on the same day. Only to find that I was charged for the full subscription immediately upon registering. It’s extremely conniving that the toggle switch for “free 3 day trial” disappears after you select the option for proceeding with an annual subscription thereafter. NOT THE OFFICIAL STAYCONNECT APP!Note: this is not the official STAYCONNECT app. I’ll also add that this app accomplishes “screen mirroring” by recording the screen and forwarding the recording as a stream to the tv. Which is fine except many video apps such as Netflix block its screen content to be recorded for copyright reasons so they WILL NOT WORK with this app. This is a technical design issue with this app and not an issue of wifi or weak network etc.
