Beyond a Browser: So Good It Feels Like MagicComet has very quickly become the browser I actually want to live in every day. I use it both at work (healthcare/IT and operations) and at home, and it has already replaced a bunch of tools I used to juggle. Instead of bouncing between a traditional browser, an AI chatbot, and my notes, I can stay in one place and let Comet do the tab wrangling and research for me. It is fantastic for deep dives where I have lots of sources open: I can have the assistant summarize pages, compare vendors, pull out key details from documentation, or draft messages and policies based on what I am looking at, all inside the browser. On iOS, it is exactly what I wanted: the same intelligence I have on my Mac, now in my pocket. Being able to quickly ask questions about a page I am viewing, summarize long articles when I am on the go, or talk through ideas with the assistant has made my iPhone feel like a much more powerful work device. It is also great for personal stuff like trip planning, product research, and all the random curiosity rabbit holes I fall into. I love that Comet feels like a thoughtful, modern browser first, with AI woven in where it genuinely saves time instead of getting in the way. Pretty GoodI was pleasantly surprised by the UX of the app, mainly around the gestures for sliding to add tabs, share sheet, more details button and much more. It feels like Safari with the great Perplexity assistant AI capabilities mixed together. It feels native and not thrown together, which was what I was most concerned about. I do wish that sliding up from the url bar would open all the tabs like Safari does, so that’s some feedback to the team. I also noticed the starry black background when you’re looking at all tabs gives me some motion sickness and clashes with my phone in light mode. Maybe consider settings to disable motion and have light mode background options? I LOVE the look of it, just the dark in light mode and motion make it a little hard to focus. Overall I’d say this was an amazing first version that really feels natural to use. On iOS, it’d be nice if you can swipe up the url bar to bring up all the tabs, just like Safari, could free up the space for the button that does this; right now it’s a two part process: press tabs button, all tabs show up, then press new tab to get to a new tab; but nice that the swipe left for a new tab is there. Also add paste & go, cut back on the suggestion to ask Perplexity about what you’re searching, especially if you have another default search engine selected; only allow for follow up Q’s if you have Perplexity selected as a search engine because then the Assistant button becomes redundant; but can see they want users to search through Perplexity for credit usage… Will keep updating this review..MatsvriVersion: 26.13.0

Comet is brilliant; Perplexity Pro left me disappointedComet is incredibly powerful and intuitive — it turns browsing into an assistant-driven workflow and the UI feels modern without the over‑polished “glass” look other apps copy. I get far more value using Comet’s built‑in assistant and multiple LLM options than I ever did from the Perplexity app. Comet’s ability to summarize pages, act across tabs, and offer multiple models in one place has genuinely changed how I research and browse. That said, I canceled Perplexity Pro after one month because the Pro experience didn’t match expectations. Pro promised broader sourcing but in my regular use it often pulled only a handful of similar sources rather than a diverse spectrum, and prompting for broader coverage rarely fixed that. I also expected access to “council mode” (multiple LLMs side‑by‑side) with Pro and was surprised it wasn’t included. Deep research features were good, but overall the subscription felt misleading and I ran into confusing credit usage when experimenting with Perplexity Computer — creating apps consumed credits quickly without clear warnings. This left me feeling scammed rather than supported. (This is my personal experience.) If Perplexity wants to win me back, a free or heavily discounted month of Pro that actually unlocks council mode and clearer credit transparency would be reasonable — I’d gladly try it and update this review. Bottom line: Comet is the reason I kept using Perplexity’s tech — the browser is excellent. Long-time Perplexity UserI've been using Perplexity for years now, and I can constantly say it is my favorite compared to ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Claude, and more. I work in digital marketing and have used them all and come back to perplexity again and again. Now, with the introduction of Comet, which I've been patiently waiting for, I have never been more pleased with my personal tech stack. Perplexity AI is fully integrated and extremely useful in browsing situations. The onboarding process was so seamless. It pulled most of my browsing data, bookmarks, and tabs directly from Google Chrome, which I previously used and made it so easy to make the switch. AmazingI love this browser. it’s simple, but fast and cool, especially with the design revolving around space and astronomical themes, hence the name “Comet” (haha get it). it works well, but i wish there was an option to add favorites. i first heard of it on pc with a Discord quest. i tried it for the orbs then it became my go-to browser, completely replacing Chrome, Opera GX, Edge, and everything else. i use Perplexity a lot and i find it useful, soon downloading it on iOS. then, a month later i’d seen the little popup for Comet on iOS, and never “pre-ordered” it so fast..Christian80198Version: 26.12.1

Fast!Amazing browser honestly. Quick, and the thing that I like the most is being able to ask AI about it while you are searching. Two things I would like to see if they add the option to change. Put the default tab at the bottom of the page so you don’t have to reach so high for it, or give it the option to bring it down. No ReaderAs a browser, it beats all iOS competitors. It looks good, it feels right, even when made default. Everything works well together. The worst thing is the lack of a Reader view and no page grouping of tabs. There is a ‘force dark mode’ option, but it is way too literal, and sort of shoots itself in the foot. Honestly, it’s great. Credits?I tried to use the business brainstorming feature which I like the thought of but I realized I need credits. This browser feels like a game now which I’m not a fan of. Best BrowserThis browser is excellent. It’s like having a personal assistant with you at all times. I used it to sign up for healthcare. I was given 3 options. I knew nothing about those options. I asked Comet to compare the three insurance programs and it gave me a table explaining the differences. I really want to love it but..Great first agentic browser But 3 major issues I’ve come across so far and 2 personal preferences that would greatly improve the ui 1. You can’t zoom in / out (no zoom button) , on web pages only pinch zoom and zooming out only lets you zoom back a tiny bit before bouncing back or minimizing the page 2. You can’t “select all” when highlighting text 3. The ai assistant voice mode hears itself and actively attempts to respond to itself repeatedly 4. Give options to choose the existing threads for browser assistant.As the title says, this option is available for the MacOS version but unfortunately not in the iPad OS version. However not only that, they need to bring tab grouping functions and also TAB MENTIONS as well. I like Comet browser to use on MacBook but if these small issues are fixed for the iPad one I would make it as my default one. So close!I’ve been waiting so long to have this on mobile. I love the desktop app on my Mac. So far it’s scratching all the itches. Having it default to a google search but then prompting if you want to chat or summarize is chefs kiss. A few things missing that would get this to 5 stars though. 1. Bookmarks front and center on the main page. It’s such along process to get to my frequently used sites 2. A dedicated button to access all my chats/spaces. I get you are probably trying to keep the perplexity app relevant but I find myself just using comet for everything on my desktop. Crazy innovative browserThis is such a cool innovation in browser and ai integration. I am able to link up multiple devices and browse at once. The ui is so smooth and very responsive. UnstableBrowser works very well in IPhone and Laptop. It works erratically on IPad. Some sites show that the browser needs to remove add blocks when no ad block is installed. Fractional as Useful as the Desktop VersionI’d like to preface this by saying that the desktop version of Comet I’ve been using since it’s inception and I found it to be a priceless edition, to our SAAS stack. That said, it could most certainly use vertical tabs, but that being its weakest point and the sole point of keeping it from replacing my current browser which is Arc. I’m still hopeful that it’s evolution will find it to be a full replacement for arc given arc is no longer developing its app. Not to get to the point of this review I was very hopeful to see what Comet could accomplish on the iPhone and very disappointed to find that yet again, a failure to understand the layout and importance of organization of tabs is the mobile version of Comet's, major downfall. To explain, if you are a power-user who on the desktop version uses tab groups, or for that matter, simply maintain a large number of tabs opened, and you also wish to sync your desktop and your mobile device (because who wouldn’t?), Then you will be as I was, inundated with perhaps what you will find to be the sloppiest presentation of your synced tabs as they simply are listed in a manner that screams, hey hear it perplexity, tabs are an afterthought; further echoing Perplexity's desktop treatment of tabs. Going back to Arc, the only real benefit that Comet has over arc, is its ability to open an assistant which you can chat with while continuing to browse a website. Yes, Comet will allow you to summarize a page but so will a simple pinch of a website on Arc. As I said, I remain hopeful that this browser will evolve, but until the devs recognize the importance of elegant and efficient tab management, it's a hard pass as a Default Browser and will remain a complimentary one. Mobile App Needs WorkComet is my default Mac browser.
