Needs Update for Visual Identification (Color Matching)As a restaurant using DoorDash, I’d like to suggest a very important improvement to prevent confusion and losses: the app needs a clear visual distinction (color matching) between customers and dashers (drivers).
We’ve had several situations where a customer shows up in person to pick up their order, showing their app as proof. Then, a few minutes later, the assigned dasher arrives, also showing their app, expecting to pick up the same order. Since both interfaces look nearly identical, it’s hard to immediately know whether we’re handing the food to the customer or the dasher.
My suggestion: give the dasher app a completely different color scheme than the customer app (for example, blue background for dashers and white or red for customers). This would let us instantly identify who is picking up the order and prevent confusion, fraud, or duplicate pickups.
This small design improvement could make a big difference in the day-to-day operations of restaurants and enhance the experience for both customers and dashers.

Improve Handling of Scheduled Orders to Avoid Kitchen Confusion
There’s an issue with scheduled orders that creates confusion in the kitchen. When a scheduled order arrives, I have to accept it—but as soon as I do, the ticket is sent immediately to the kitchen printer, just like any regular ASAP order.
The problem is that my kitchen staff is often busy, and they don’t always realize it’s a scheduled order. So they start preparing it right away, even if the pickup time is still far away.
My suggestion: When a scheduled order comes in, we should receive a notification or visual alert, but the ticket should not print in the kitchen right away. Instead, the system should wait until the correct prep time (which we’ve already defined in the app—in my case, 20 minutes before pickup) before sending the order to the kitchen printer.

Does not work for floristI am extremely frustrated with how DoorDash manages both its service and order handling. While the platform advertises to florists and small businesses, the app is clearly not designed to support our specific needs. It doesn’t properly communicate with its own systems, and the lack of coordination is constant. On several occasions, I’ve received an order, and even before I accept it, a Dasher is already en route. I’ve scheduled later pickup times, only to have drivers show up far earlier than requested. Every time I try to use the “on-demand” driver option, it takes 20+ minutes just to get someone in customer service who understands what I’m asking.
Most recently, on Mother’s Day weekend—a critical time for florists—I clearly noted that one order wouldn’t be ready for 40 minutes. Despite this, a Dasher was sent immediately. I called multiple times to confirm the prep time and a substitution, but no one seemed to grasp how floral preparation works.
To make matters worse, my store was wrongfully suspended because a driver went to the wrong address or assumed I was closed, even though I was very much open.
This experience has made it clear: DoorDash is not equipped to support florists. The app lacks proper timing, flexibility, and knowledgeable customer service. New Update ProblemsThe new update to the DoorDash Manager app is a massive step backwards. Live orders don’t show up, you can’t mark items as sold out, you can’t update orders in real time, and the Campaigns tab is completely gone. Instead, they replaced all the useful stuff with a bunch of data dashboards that nobody needs on a daily basis. Totally not user-friendly.
The only thing that still works well is replying to customer reviews — everything else is broken or missing. I even tried running campaigns through the web browser, and guess what? Same story — none of those tabs exist there either.
DoorDash needs to seriously reconsider whoever approved this update. Removing campaigns and breaking core operational features doesn’t just hurt restaurants — it hurts DoorDash’s own revenue. Most restaurant owners don’t have 10 minutes to sit on hold with support every time they need to make a simple menu change or update an order. We’re running a business, not waiting in a customer service queue.

Too Many Issues to Mention HereDoorDash needs to build focus groups with merchants if it wants to do this app thing right. Rarely anyone at DD reaches out to us on this. Calling customer support always leads to case number which is generally a dead end road.
We are a multi location grocery store on the app but cannot make changes on the menu thru the app (price changes or out of stocks). There should also be notifications thru the manager app when orders come in. Both of these features should be part of the app.

Disappointing Support and Lack of ResultsAs a small business owner, I had high hopes for DoorDash as a platform to help grow my reach. Extremely disappointedI am extremely disappointed with the onboarding process for DoorDash as a merchant. Despite explicitly stating during registration that I did not need their tablet, one was sent to me without my request. After spending significant time with customer support to initiate a return, I was shocked to receive another notification that a second tablet was being shipped—again, without my consent.
This gives the impression that the platform is pushing additional services that were not requested. I’ve already spent unnecessary time resolving this issue before even starting to work with them.

Complete malfunctionI downloaded the app to my personal phone to see if the issue our store was having was the app, or store tablet. It is the app.
Our store franchise is expected by DoorDash to be able to use the portal to do basically anything so we don’t have to call. Block or review a dasher, un-assign order, etc. This has not been our experience for well over a few months now. Whenever we try to un-assign an order we are bounced back, it doesn’t go through. Same for any other functionality we should be able to preform. It doesn’t work in the app, and it doesn’t work in the website.

Worst Company for businessesDoorDash is high commision based yet they don’t have right setup to support businesses. No control on customers refunds in-spite of write order. Upon such refunds DoorDash still takes the commission on full price. 14 days limit to manually stay in their app/online to lope a track if customer asked for refund is so annoying. They are secretly charging a lot from business without having a mechanism to update to look into the refunds requests. Missing Key Mobile Features for Managing OrdersI’m still waiting on a response regarding an issue I previously raised. I need to be able to view and manage my DoorDash orders from my phone, but currently I can’t see new incoming orders, confirm them, or access order details.
With Grubhub, I receive email notifications and can log into their portal from my phone to manage everything in real time. DoorDash doesn’t offer the same level of access, which makes it really difficult to handle orders while on the go.

Shady setupI rarely give reviews for apps almost never do. This app use to work great. Now? Its like doordash tries to hide when customers request refund. You use to be able to see it easily now you have to manually go through every single order and scroll all the way down to see if their was a refund processed. Very shady in my opinion.
