As a swim instructor I like this App. I think it is a great way for parents to track students progress. I like the lessons for children, but wish they added games instead of just information and quizzes. Hopefully this could be something they could improve in the future.
This app is fantastic as you are able to track multiple children via their own profile at a time. There are few bugs and no “help” option to request they get fixed.
This is an awesome app for Water Safety Education and the promotion of Red Cross Swimming Lessons, however, one thing to be noted is the 'Find Classes' feature is not very applicable due to the fact that Red Cross LTS classes are not required (and rarely are, if ever) pre-registered with the Red Cross before the class begins. This makes it so then people, when looking for classes, can easily be mislead into thinking that there are no classes around. It may be better to instead offer a search/directory of LTS-registered facilities in the area. I like the integration of WHALE tales too! Also, as mentioned in previous reviews, something for instructors could be very beneficial, perhaps something along the lines of having an interface (or maybe even separate application) that allows for the checking-off of skills, class schedules, rosters, all information that they can input. Just a thought. Besides that, great for the every-day swim parent! However, why has it not been optimized for the iPad yet? I wish that, like the rest of the Red Cross applications, Swim would have the same. Note- it was fairly difficult for me to find the App, even after going to the American Red Cross Developer page, I could not find it until today (and I have been searching on the App Store for about a week) PS- I am a Certified Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard

The app is definitely of amazing quality. However as an official Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, I would like to see some functionality for all instructors where we can keep track of our lesson's progress via entry in the app. Great for parents. But please look into optimizing for instructors as well. We could definitely use this.

The Red Cross has come up with a great way for parents to support their child as they take swimming lessons! I am a Water Safety Instructor who knows the value of getting the parent involved. This app lists all the pre-school aquatics and learn-to-swim skills by level, water safety information, water activities and games for practicing skills, and much more. I see this as a wonderful tool for the poolside parent to bring up on their phone while they wait for their child to finish their lesson. This app can be downloaded on an I-Pad, just select I-phone.
I've never written a review before but this one deserves it! I've been teaching swim lessons for a while and I guess it didn't don on me to see if the Red Cross had an app. This app is easy to use and it's super easy to track different kids progress. With one touch you can record that a kid completed a specific skill. Paper and water never go well together but a waterproof iPhone case with this app is perfect! Wish there was a way to share progress with parents...
My 4 year old loves using the videos and earning badges in this app. Great that he loves doing something that will help keep him safe as we are surrounded by water where we live. He's never been very comfortable in the water but getting to mark off accomplishments is helping to motivate him to work on it.
This is a nice little app., however, as mentioned in an earlier review, there needs to be something on here for instructors.
This app is hands down the best thing I have discovered! Lots of great info for parents and instructors. You can keep track of students progress and they can earn badges for encouragement. I wish it had more things for instructors.. but hey it works for me! 😬😎🏊🏾
I'm an instructor and find this app a great way for parents to keep track of their kids swimming ability. I also educates the parents in water safety which is always good
I teach high school phys. ed. but will be passing along the information to our districts elementary PE teachers to convey to the parents of the students!
Thank you so much Red Cross for making my job as a dad easier with your app.
As a Red Cross Instructor Trainer and parent.... I love this new app!! Can't wait to share it with all my students.
Good source of information for parents and kids. Awards and badges are good. Nice job Red Cross!
Very useful app. I'm a swimming instructor and I recommend this app to my families!
This app is a wonderful way to learn about water safety.
Excellent app. Very helpful.
Swim By American Red Cross Negative Reviews and Ratings
I liked the idea of this app but in reality it does me no good since I have two children. When I click skills on or off for one child, it shows up on the other child as well. So, unless your kids are clones, don’t bother tracking their skills.
Crashes immediately when opened.
The app won't stay open. Constantly crashing on iPhone 6s Plus with iOS 11.x. Don't waste you time downloading until ARC fixes it.
The application is great for up and coming lifeguards to learn water safety, as well as being great for the common layman.
I can’t use until it is updated for IOS 11
It doesn't work on iPhones. The words won't show but pictures do, please fix this ASAP!!!
I need this app but in Spanish Please, I need update app. Thanks
