Awesome & Easy AppI highly recommend this app. I have been using it for years and it has helped me easily be able to scan and send documents from my iphone. I am not a tech-savvy person so this app was perfect for me. It’s intuitive with the features, and has become even more improved as they have made advancements/upgrades to the app. The only thing I didn’t know the first time I used it was that you have to have access to the previous device (phone) you had been using if you want to transfer all your documents from the app to the next phone. I had completely broken a previous phone and therefore wasn’t able to transfer all those documents. I had mostly emailed them to myself anyway, so it wasn’t a total loss. I don’t know if they have changed this feature, but I have noticed a lot of apps are starting to do this where you have to directly transfer from an old device to a new one. You can’t just transfer from the cloud. Other than that, I absolutely love this app. It’s awesome how you can convert pictures to PDFs and edit them to look like they were actually scanned via an actual scanner! I had a situation where a lady wouldn’t take the pdf I sent her because it still looked like pictures even though it was a pdf. She said it has to be uploaded through an “actual” scanner🙄. So all I did was edit the PDF via this app to make it black and white and then re-sent it. She accepted it. I had used this same scanner app for both PDFs I sent her. lol All that to say, this app is legitimate with its quality. Shout out to the coders for this app! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.Version: 5.80
Great app!My review will probably be an unusual one, as I suppose normally guys from finance or something would use such an app, yet I found it SUPER useful. I'm a single mom of 3 and we have recently moved to a different country. If you've ever moved to another country, you get it. But being a single mom and having 3 kids to take care of triples all the hussle. We had to first gather LOTS OF docs in uor country. The bureucratic system in our country is terrible (I won't mention the country name not to offend anyone of you guys) and I had to figure out what kind of paprs I have to collect from school, daycare and other places. I first started taking pictures and stored everything in phone gallery, but I soon realized it's a mess. So I tried to find something to help me out and accidentally found iScanner. That was a HUGE relief honestly. I named the folders by the family member's name and stored the docs separately. It was so easy scanning everything on the go, when I took pics in my car or on the way home. The text recognition feature is 🫶. Used it a lot. Now that we have arrived here I continue using the app for gathering, storing and sending docs. Now the stress level is way lower even though we are in a different country. I also downloaded this app to my childen's phones and now they can use it too. We have one account and everything's stored in the cloud. The docs sync and it's super useful. I set the pin to the folders I consider important and it solves all the problems. Loyal Long-Time UserI’ve been using this app for about 4 years now, and I can honestly say that the developers just continue to up their game and the result is an impressively useful and intuitive app that has saved me so many hours of time at this point. Updates are always creative improvements from the last, and they’re clearly thoughtful and certainly keep U.E. in mind. There was a period of time, I think in the first year I used iScanner (2021) when the app was struggling and frustratingly buggy, but that has been completely addressed as far as I can tell, and the reason it was so frustrating is because it was so clear that the idea and prospective tool felt like it’d be a game-changer! ….if only the bugs could get worked out, lol. If you used the app back then, mannn you have to come back and give it try now; it’s amazing. Real talk, iScanner is a surprisingly powerful, hidden gem that lets you easily take a picture of a document(s) and boom; scanned in, ready to format, edit, markup, add/ subtract pages, color correct, make it a pdf/jpeg/word doc/etc….list goes on. Plus, it’s truly FREE, if you want it to be; but tbh, it’s totally worth it to pay the $11 or $12 bucks per YEAR (!) to access the all the pro features. Keep hustlingIScanner has seriously changed the game for how I handle college and my side hustles. As a student juggling part-time work, I’m always on the move, and this app is basically my personal assistant. I scan all my class notes and handouts now, and it’s way easier to find and organize my stuff than digging through piles of paper. What’s even better is I can add my own notes, highlight important stuff, and even blur out things I don’t want anyone to see if I’m sharing them with friends. I’m also obsessed with the document markup, it's super handy when I need to highlight key points in my study materials before exams. Plus, the math mode is a lifesaver for homework, you can just snap a pic and it solves the problem for you. It even works with really complicated equations, so I don’t have to worry about getting stuck. The text recognition feature is also a huge help when I need to grab important info from printed materials for my side gigs. Cloud storage also helps, it syncs everything automatically, so I can work on assignments no matter where I am. Every mom needs! So easy to use!This is the most useful new app I’ve put on my phone in years! I’m the mom to 5 kids/young adults who often need a document of some kind filled out or signed and emailed to someone. It’s always been a pain because I don’t own, or know how to use the tech required. I pray to goodness it’s a “fillable” document, and when it isn’t I have to print it, fill it out, take a photo of it with my phone then email the photo… I hate it. But no more!! I have already used iScanner a few times in two weeks and it’s incredible. I can take a pic of the document pages with the app open and it helps guide me where to hold the phone and automatically clicks the shutter button when it’s ready.. then iScanner will make that photo of a page look like a professional file. It cleans up any wrinkles or shadows, crisps the lettering and brightens the contrast. THEN I write on the page in the app, filling out a long form was so easy! Basically I tap where I want to type and then I can move and straighten the line as needed. If I can do it so can you!! I am so bad with technology and most apps overwhelm me within 30 seconds and I never open them again. I also have an aversion to reading directions! haha But iScanner has been super intuitive to figure out and I’m thrilled to have the ability to scan papers and convert them to PDF on my phone. Yes, it also converts your docs to whatever format you need! You can save and send files in the app or not, saving to your Drive or iCloud Files is easy, they’re not trying to lock you in to their platform and you don’t have to get anyone else to sign up to share your files with them. CEOGreat Platform, but the pay component needs work, I’ve got a lot of apps, but I never seem to have as much trouble as I do with this application constantly turning off, it seems like I pay, and I pay, and I pay and comply, when looking at the other competitors in the market the cost for your platform is significantly more when you pay additional money, it’s a generate some grace., I’m constantly working on something time sensitive, and perhaps I haven’t been in the app for sometime, so I may not know that the subscription has lapsed… But the subscription is only time-based, not usage-based. There should be some way for your CRM program algorithm to say “this guy paid $40 and hasn’t used the program much in the last three months, so now that he’s finally using the program maybe we don’t shut him off immediately because it could be an urgent timing issue”? Because, I know that many people no longer liked to put automatic renewals into their phone because they end up paying for items that they’re not using and just end up canceling it in the future when they need a program again… They’re not likely to choose the platform for which they have already spent hundreds of dollars on the program and the one time they go to use the program… It won’t work without jumping through a bunch of hoops? I acknowledge that your software as a service business model requires you to charge people, but even my credit card gives me grace period?.Version: 5.79
I hate “new and improved” updatesWhen I first got this program, I absolutely loved it. It had lots of options to manage and alter the items. Everything was crystal clear on the user end. I got thru an enormous amount of work quickly. The program has been updated with the same great functions and new ones. Nothing is crystal clear anymore. AI has been added and apparently she is bored. The AI interference is intolerable. I have had a struggle to store and save 11 pages. There is no way to tell AI you are done - there is no page 12. The screen grays out and you are stuck in an endless loop of looking for page borders. Again, using this app is no longer crystal clear or simple. Too much is too much. The whole marketing game of new and improved to stimulate interest usually causes me to lose interest. I may go shopping for a more simple program and definitely hope to find one without an aggressive aI. There was no page 12!!! I could not clearly see a means to end and save. I don’t think the first round was saved. I only got the “done” button once. I got stuck in 3 endless loops that I could not end or get out of. I only found my file once after a search - and not as a result of search because of AI looking for the wrong things- I had to repeat the work- and I think I finally saw my last effort by accident. Can I have the old version back? I see here in the store another update is available. I don’t want it. Leave me alone. Tell AI to leave me alone. Give me control of the project back so I can do what I need. There was no page 12. Scanning that I could do quickly in the past is a time consuming ordeal now..Version: 5.86
Extremely Helpful, but Limited... - A Generous 4 out of 5This is app is similar to a handful of other scanner to JPEG and PDF formats that have emerged quite recently in app stores, and have taken smartphone capabilities to the next level for users. The app itself is fully functioning. However, that is where things stop for iScanner. Therefore, in my opinion this makes the app underserving of the hoped for 5 star rating. I personally have used other apps of the same scanning purposes to elevate my iPhone experience and have a way to save important documents such as paper tax invoices to my phone - thus, not losing anything of importance like I otherwise might with a solely physical copy. What made me generously rate this app only 4 instead of the possible 5 out of 5 stars is the fact that in order to utilize what other scanning apps other than iScanner offer, I don’t have to pay the membership fee that the app unsurprisingly offers from the very moment you open it to use. The reason that the iScanner app is one of the top listed “scanner” app searches in the iPhone App Store (above the competition scan apps that can actually offer more than what iScanner alone, without the membership subscription does, is because it is a “purchase friendly” -if no other words- app and therefore a money-maker in whatever regards. The advertising is guaranteed to be much better for this fact. But, as myself and probably many others can tell, it is not the greatest scanning up available on the App Store like it’s “top” featuring night insinuate... So, in regards to app development by the creators here, it’s an unimpressive product. Hopefully, this message is made clear to those responsible for making sure their app is of as high in quality as possible..Version: 3.11
FantasticI’m a teacher and I use this all time in my professional and personal life. I scan all my worksheets for school, so I have a blank digital copy, and then I can display it on the smartboard - write class notes and examples and save as a new file that gets posted on my digital classroom so any absent students have access to what we did together in class. For home use, I scan all my bills and such that I think I may want for future reference (in the organized digital files), so I can shred the paper versions. So handy to have access to various paperwork I might need anywhere I go with my phone. Also, I scan my child’s artwork and any papers they want to “keep.” Even though we do keep a few masterpieces, having a digital copy has made my child less resistant to tossing the originals. Great App So FarFor a smartphone app that scans, I’m thrilled. I scanned an assignment straight from my phone to my email and submitted it with no problems. You can change the contrast as well as other color and white balance settings. You can also send as a JPG, which is helpful as that is a very versatile file format. I just needed the PDF. If you are on the go, this app will be great! Of course, it takes a minute to get everything situated with what you scan (ex. You may have to align the blue dots over the edges, as it doesn’t always line up exactly with the page). However, that is minor and is actually helpful on account of using a camera instead of a dedicated scanning mechanism. With that being said, if you need a high quality scan that has a high dpi, for sure use a regular copier, as this scanner entirely will rely on your phones camera sensor. Used to be the best, now it’s “pay to play”Edit: It’s a quality scanner so long as you have premium options. I bought mine back in the day before it was subscription based. I have to be logged in for it to recognize that. Cloud storage is meh, but everyone charges for that in today’s world. I appreciated the devs reaching out to me about my initial poor review. 5 stars for caring, 3 for being a solid pay to play with decent options. Averages to 4 overall. I bought the premium version of iScanner back in the day when you could buy an app once and get all the benefits of the “premium“ version for one simple transaction. It was great, and I used it for everything that needed to be scanned and then some. I knew it was all going to end when they introduced their new subscription model. Now for the “low” monthly price that’s the same as my “one and done” purchase, I can enjoy all the benefits they took away. I’m exporting all my docs and deleting the app..Version: 6.0
Best Scanning App that I’ve used so farI used a couple other scanner apps, mainly the ones that show up when you search for “scanner app” and none of them are as good as this one. The other ones require you to either manually locate the borders, which is quite annoying if your paper is curved or anything, or the auto border comes with a compromise on the quality, where it just seems like a picture that sometimes even shows the background. This one, however, has no such problems and scans with auto bordering remarkably fast with quality that seems indistinguishable from what a printer scanner would produce. The ads might be annoying however, I have no comment on that since I’m using the premium version, but I would still be willing to face some ads for quality that seems unmatched in comparison with the other sub par scanning apps available. Incredible ToolMy son introduced to this app by showing me how well it captures iso’s and schematics, and how he can mark them up, zoom in to capture just a piece of the drawing and then share whatever is important with others! I find it extremely helpful for capturing expense reports receipts and capturing documents that I quickly need to share with others vs tracking down a nearby office scanner! This is extremely portable as the phone is always in your hands. I know I’m not using all the capabilities as I haven’t had time to explore them! There are many more ways to use this and I look forward to finding them! Oh, and the developers are very responsive to any questions you have! I had a few glitches as I am running this on a much older iPhone, and they responded right away and we were able to resolve the glitches!.Version: 5.61
Worked wonderfully until today.I enjoy this app. Works exactly as promised. Has a bit of a learning curve. Free version has limitations but that’s to be expected. Today, the app force closes after taking a photo from within the app. I rebooted my iPad and checked for software updates and free memory. Nothing unusual but app still doesn’t work. 5 stars but lowering to 4 stars because of today’s glitch. I will not delete and reinstall the app because other reviewers have said that will not solve the problem and my previously scanned files will disappear. Will wait to see if the developer releases an update now thatApple has updated iOS several times since install. I do not think I hsve reached a “limit”of scanned documents using the free version. I would pay the monthly/annual subscription so I could scan multiple documents at once and use other paid features, but not while the app is not working..Version: 4.47
Incredibly helpful / BEWARE of length they save docsLove this app, yet lost incredibly important documents without any forewarning as to storage terms or chance at losing docs I thought I’d stored in safe reliable app./ or warned that it would be discarded after any period. Years of documentation carefully added to this app, only to lose some of my most important documents. Be sure to transfer any and all documents ASAP to a trustworthy app, or directly onto a hard drive or flash drive. Emails with attachments when attempting to store to scanner app will only appear as text/coding that renders useless in accessing the attachment, even when you click on attachment then try to save direct to scanner. On occasion you can screenshot instead multiple pics then transfer to scanner, way more time consuming, since you’ll need to immediately save the then transferred screenshots, to your files or a flash drive in order to avoid loss of records..Version: 5.60
Where’s my stuff??I paid for iScanner probably 6-7 years ago and, although I don’t use it all the time, I have a lot of important documents in there that I refer back to now and then. And it’s been a wonderful app, I’ve really loved it. Today I logged in to retrieve a certificate to prove a class was taken and the app said there’s a new and improved app I need to use, click here to link the account and upload everything to the cloud, etc. So before I uploaded everything to the cloud or paid to increase my cloud storage, I wanted to go through my things and see if there’s things I can delete to see if I really even need more storage. So I clicked Link Later because I was kind of in a hurry and just wanted to go to my old stuff before I messed with downloading the new app and everything. Now all my stuff is gone and it says there’s no purchase to restore. When I tried to log in it made me create a password as if it’s a brand new account! Where’s my stuff?.Version: 5.34
Does its job 👍Never thought a scanning app would simplify my life and relieve so much pain. I want my documents to be organized and kept in one place. It had been bearable until my family moved abroad and our document folder tripled in size. We decided to digitize all documents we have and that was a huge thing to do. We started scanning it with our regular scanner. Pretty soon I realized that it was taking too much time. I tried to search for scanning apps and I'm really glad that I found iScanner. All my docs are now neatly organized in folders and all family members have access to them thanks to the cloud feature. We have to deal with so many institutions, banks, schools, etc and send them our docs, fill our numerous forms. The app keeps me sane. I automatically fill out forms, sign the docs and share them. OutstandingI’ve been an iPhone user for about 10 years, and this is my first ever written review on an app. Don’t get me wrong, there are hundreds of great apps in the App Store, but the Scanner App is a utility that, I feel, deserves some recognition for truly getting it right. I only installed the app a few months ago (previously used Adobe Scan), and I immediately fell in love with it. These guys have literally thought of everything, from the high-level “categorical” scan options, down to the fine grained details seen with the auto-magnifier view when cropping the edge of your document. This app does exactly what it should do, without feeling overcrowded with unnecessary features that should be left to your document/photo editing app anyways. My lifesaverSeems like my previous review was lost but I'm still happy with the app, so okay I'll write again :) In short, OFFICE WORKERS, this app is for you!! My desk used to be a magnet for folders, loose paper, contracts, and stuff like this until iScanner. The scanner is my favorite feature obviously. I scan everything—contracts, IDs, passports, even random notes I don’t want to lose. The app magically grabs the borders, aligns everything and gives me a super clear scan. It’s my secret weapon well, maybe not that secret now that I’ve told my colleagues about it :) Most of my colleagues downloaded it too and now we’re all low-key competing to see who can keep their desk the cleanest (spoiler, I’m winning). I’m not digging around for photos or wondering if I lost a paper copy somewhere. All my documents are stored in neat little folders. Now I can just open the app, pull up the doc, and print it if I need to. I use it for personal stuff too. Tickets, receipts, random things I’d usually lose, even photos, they’re all in here. No more holding up the line at the airport while I scroll through a million emails to find our boarding passes! Awesome scannerSo this app is awesome. It gives you plenty of options and crops the documents almost perfectly every time. I use it to scan homework for school. You just need to make sure there is a good background contrast for it to work well which is understandable. I’ve only run into an issue once where it didn’t scan properly and I do use it a lot. The only major issue I have with it is if you don’t have premium you it will sometimes pop up with an in app purchase to scan your fingerprint and buy it. I almost accidentally purchased it the first time it did that but I caught it. Without premium you can only scan 3 documents before you have to delete them. You can save them to your pictures then delete them and continue scanning. Premium is definitely worth it though especially if you do a lot of scanning. It’s about 5 dollars for 1 month, 9 dollars for 3 months or 12 dollars for a year..Version: 3.5
Worth itI’ve had and paid for this app for over 2 years now and it’s completely worth it! There have been so many instances that I didn’t expect to need to upload a document or send and would have been in a bind without this app. I love the many different types of document types you can convert to. I love the auto photo along paper edges. I love that I can change the color of the paper to make it took cleaner! I mean, this app is so well done, I would give it 10 stars if I could. Highly recommend this app. Also, in two years I’ve never had any problems or issues with it. It never crashes, always sends my documents, it’s well organized and the ease of use is fantastic. My new filing system for mail, invoice & TaxesI now scan/file everything from my bills to my income taxes. I take my mail daily and those things that have to be paid. I put into A to be paid folder for those things to require immediate action. I put it in the immediate action folder. This is a dream for me because I have paperwork everywhere and this way I have clearing concise photos of what I’m doing what I need to be doing and what I’m going to do in the future at a certain date so this is been beyond anything I’ve ever had before. Update, I have been using for 4 months and it only gets better and easier. 5 months later and I love it more because I am comfortable with use and am finding more capabilities. PerfectI’ve been using this app in basic mode for about a year and a half because it did what I needed at the time. Now I’m running my own business and got the PRO subscription for like $21 a year. Definitely worth it and it’s never failed me before. You get 100g’s of cloud memory and can scan multiple doc’s. And turn them into like 10 different styles of files. It super nice to be able to send one pdf. With 50 doc’s. to an email rather then adding all 50 one by one. Cuts time and is super easy. They thought of everything on this app. If I could I would give them 20 stars out of 10. I’m a customer and have nothing to do with this app other than using it for personal gain. To clarify this statement, allow me to properly state the following… the app is free for three days and you might fall into the “three day” free trial automatically. Paying then on a daily basis. The add/download system is designed to totalize the many downloads that have been made- suggesting many existing users. Let me clarify that I have not used the app and will not use it. Specifically because I reject the click bait system that so many apps are using nowadays… like this one does. Best free scanner app!Just downloaded this app thinking the free version would only let me scan the document as in many other free scanning apps. Wrong! I’ve been able to scan, adjust the color in many different ways and formats, sign the document ( with size adjustments and replacement), and have the options to send to an email, fax it, save to photo roll, send to document folder, and I believe one or 2 more options of moving the document all on the free version and that’s just what I’ve come across in the last 3 min. I can’t wait to download the full version! I’ve been recommended other scanning apps in the past and this one surpasses them by far! I will now be recommending this app to all the people who referred other apps along with new people! Thank you!.Version: 3.1
Unwanted AdsThis has officially become my favorite app... very easy to use and it’s been perfect for remote learning. I’m able to store my kids assignments in one place that’s easy to get to and I can upload their work/email to their teachers. However, I recently updated my phone and all of a sudden there are ads popping up in the middle of me taking pictures of a document or trying to email a document and this NEVER happened before and I’m paying monthly for the scanner pro.... usually when you are paying that helps avoid any unwanted ads and like I said I never had this issue before. I don’t know what the heck is going on but please find a way to stop this ish because I don’t want to download no word puzzle games etc. if I want to do that I already know how to go to the App Store I don’t need an ad to direct me there. Few issuesI drive truck and use this to scan in my paperwork. I’ve already scanned up to 60 pages. For the most part it’s super easy to use. Color or black and white, with other variations which is great. Can email or text, .pdf and some other options so that’s all great. The one thing that can be irritating is WHAT is scans. Sometimes the whole page exactly how you’d like it most times a partial page. Slanted, half the page, a small corner, and no matter what I do I can’t get it to recognize the whole page. So I spend sometime editing all 60 pages or most of them anyway. I also use for my crafts when I want certain images copied for printing. Works great for that! Same scan and edit issues but I’ve been getting by. I’ll continue to use, just wish it was more accurate..Version: 3.24
Unexpectedly handyI want to leave this review for those who travel a lot as it might be not the most obvious way to use a scanning app, but it's amazing. I downloaded it when I was writing my thesis. At that time it helped me a lot with scanning docs and stuff. As a received my diploma I honestly forgot about it. I remembered about it when I have to quickly send a copy of my docs to a travel agent. Wow! I found out that it can scan passports and ID-cards automatically detecting the borders and the format of the scan. The agent asked me to fill out a couple of forms and I did it using the app. That was such a relief as I managed to book everything. Consider using the app for organizing docs when travelling. Easy and affordableI like the scanner app because I can’t always get out to go & scan documents. I like the convenience. The monthly price is affordable. I do want to let any that are reading this review know that you have the option to select manual if your paperwork isn’t aligning properly. You will understand if you use the app. The app has some other features for texting and changing the documents etc. You can create a simple PDF & other options for sending the documents via email or your choice of delivery. I used this for sensitive documents regarding my health care. Give it a try and if you don’t like you can always cancel with no penalties..Version: 4.13
Great app to scan in time sheetsStarted working from home and realized I needed to formally scan a paper timesheet to upload to my payroll clerk. First looked at a scanner printer combo that was over $300 for the cheaper model. But was not portable with me or my occupation. Was told about this scanning app and instantly was sold. I also use it just as must to simple upload other documents to have them transferred to a PDF format. The monthly cost is nothing compared to buying a device that is over $500 just to only have half the capability of this app. That pathetic device could pay for 50 months of advanced service.
