Job Job you can ever doI really do enjoy working with Instawork. i'm unsure why so many people wrote bad reviews and the people who have wrote that they have not got paid I always get paid. with any job that you work it's never perfect but I will say that instawork and their customer care they really really work with us and they do their very best to continue to keep us happy and paid and making good money l've had personal issues where I've had to miss my shift unexpectedly which would be considered a no-show or I've had to cancel last minute and l've never had an issue submit to them a note or whatever that they need and again no issue I would highly highly recommend instawork to anyone as I have already but I will continue to do so. INSTAWORK ACTUALLY DOES WHAT IT SAYSI have tried different apps in order to be able to work when I need incone between jobs, when I’ve been out of work and MOST apps do not deliver..straight up, they do not and many of other app reviews reflect this. Instawork on the other hand is user friendly, posts open shifts and you can go through pick your shifts and go to work. It is truly user friendly. If you have questions they are answered quickly and this is a REAL BENEFIT. You do have to upload a resume or your past work history in order to qualify for different shifts. The Instawork app I have found to be incredibly user friendly. I’ve worked at IKEA, Restaurant Depot, a few catering gigs with “upper end” establishments which I’ve enjoyed The more you work, show you’re dependable and reliable MORE shifts open up to you. In fact, as you receive “badges”, higher levels, your hourly pay raises as does your ability to see open shifts before others do. Great way to work when you want and get paid fairlyI was hesitant to sign up for this, but after my roommate and my girlfriend had both been doing it for a while, I finally caved. I work a full time job already, but rather than needing to get a second job and feel like you have ZERO free time, this is truly an incredible offering for those who want some extra cash but also need days off from their normal job. It's great that Instawork is so community-based and that continuing to work gigs and refer people are also ways to make extra money via bonuses, aside from just the rate of pay offered for the job you do. SERIOUSLY... stop thinking about doing it and just sign up already! I've been on here for about two weeks and already have the ability to pick up gigs for 7 different positions I have experience in. All it takes is getting people to review you from previous jobs and then growing your network by reviewing and complimenting your Instawork Coworkers. Was great until…This was a great app with a great opportunities better than both of the work apps. I’ve been trying to use, but the problem is if no human presence if there are an issue that the AI cannot take care of. The first shift I find out for as soon as I got there, they try to discourage me from clocking in. It was a moving job, and I saw that I was a woman and apparently I couldn’t move. 75 pounds when I have a child that’s more than 75 pounds that I left on the daily then they try to discourage me a second time and then when they see that they wasn’t working they told me that I was an extra and they didn’t need me even though I was the first to arrive. The second shift I applied to work for was a pain back up. They canceled me. I got paid that was great no issue there the third and fourth shift actually got to work. I’m a hard worker on all worked hard. The employees that I worked with told me that I did a good job. I tried to book more shifts after that and I was all of a sudden disqualified from being book shift because I’ve got too many bad reviews when in fact, I’ve only worked at one place so I wouldn’t see where that makes sense. I tried to figure out a way with the AI and they said there’s nothing they could really do about it. I’m a single mother been looking for a job for over two years. I finally thought I found something and I hope was gone right when I was getting hope back so I think has tried lightly with The app. Anything could be finicky. But the work is really good. Not happy with sign up experienceThis has been an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience. The sign-up process was excessively detailed and time-consuming, requiring me to provide a vast amount of personal information before I could even see what jobs were available. The concept is awesome! The implementation… not so much.So I’ll try and keep this short. The concept is fantastic! The app just fails in several ways. The biggest hassles are GPS is flaky. It’s not always accurate. Especially in underground concrete lined tunnels or buildings. It’s hard to lock in or out if GPS is inaccurate. Second when there is a problem there is NO human to reach. This happened to me so I’ll give this example. My first shift in karaoke was at a large casino with several kitchens. Security called the main kitchen and they came to get me. Well little did I know I was supposed to be working in the sports bar kitchen. So the sports bar marked me no call no show. When I was in fact working that day in the main kitchen. So then because of the no call no show I got instantly blacklisted. What the..!!! I tried to reach anyone at Instawork and it’s just an AI mess. It took days for that to get sorted. That’s just unacceptable. I was there and worked a shift. The casino just had horrible procedures and didn’t know who was working where in their building complex. That wasn’t my fault. It did get resolved but that shouldn’t have happened to begin with. And the appeal process takes way too long. The UI needs work. It would be great on a “long term” listing to be able to see all the days offered without clicking “book shift”. I hope they are working to resolve these issues. It’s an ok appMy pros of the app is that there’s different jobs out there. You can pick and choose the days you want to work if the job have multiple days. Of you cannot work your gig you can always request it to someone else (backup). All of the jobs are super laid back and easy. I like that you can adjust the hours because it doesn’t give you your correct time so you can always fix it and have the company verify your hours as well. I like that it you so great you get rewards and bonus you also get to become an lead or something like that. Meaning you get to help out fellow insta workers. My cons is the pay. Payments are not processed until Wednesday. So if you worked Friday-Monday you will have to wait until Wednesday for your payment to be processed then wait until the following week on Friday to get paid. My opinion is that we should get paid the same week we work or same day pay. If you cancel you gig a couple of hours before you start or if you have an emergency they will put you as an no call no show. Which will be on your profile and it will cause you not to see as many jobs. As well be suspended for 14 days and even have you account terminated where you cannot reapply for the app again. Customer service support is not the best. It takes them more than 24-48 hours to get back with you. If you have an emergency there isn’t any customer service support available right then and there. You have to work a certain amount of gigs in order to get an sliver star. Location Changes make app unusableI was using this app in Washington. It was great. I recommended it all the time. Now I’ve moved 3,000 miles across the Country to New York. This is supposed to be one of the most active cities on the whole app. Yet no one can explain to me why I can no longer access shifts that i previously had access to, or why I’m being shown shifts that I’ve never had access to (and still can’t pick up) , and no one can fix it! At first it was: your screening call needs to be reapproved. It’s been a month and that still hasn’t been done. Then it was: you don’t have a high enough score. I was a gold top pro member who had been requested back for multiple shifts. I screenshotted and shared every single screen I had on the app to prove to them no it’s not me it’s you, your app is saying you need to reapprove me screening call, you’re telling me I’m supposed to be approved, yet I’m clearly not. Then it was “oh our partners are changing the requirements to pick up shifts”. Now it’s been almost a month. No one was ever notified that their partners were changing anything, how long that would take, or what exactly was changing. I’ve been an exemplary employee. I’ve been beyond reliable. Yet there’s nothing anyone on the support team can do but make excuses as to why they can’t do anything? Are you kidding? And then you wonder why people say no one wants to work anymore. I’ve come to the support team multiple times over the last month about this issue. I spent a whole week trying to get this fixed. Nothing. Great app, but poor punishmentsI love this app and it has helped me a ton and I recommend it to EVERYONE. However their punishments are way too harsh If you cancel a shift 23 hours in advance instead of 24 you are automatically disqualified from any metal and it's the dumbest thing ever. I was eligible for gold which would have given me the privilege not only for early access to jobs, but also instant pay that gives me money in my account right when I clock out. However, I cancelled my gig to work 23 hours in advance because I knew for a fact the shift would be covered immediately. They always get booked within 10 minutes of being posted because people love those opportunities, so I knew they wouldn't be mad if I cancelled. Instead I just checked and I don't qualify for not only gold, but not even bronze. That's also one of the worst things about the ranking, if I have worked the whole month flawlessly the new ranking doesn't even kick in until the first of the next month, so I think the punishments are quite excessive and they ruin the experience knowing I have to go the next month not only without instant pay which I was looking forward to, and early access for more jobs. Not enough thought into user journey of appGood concept. The app aesthetics are nice. App can process slowly. You do have to look around to find things. I have been in customer service all my life and am an artist at heart. It frustrates me when companies don’t put enough thought into the user’s experience/ journey. The wire-framing for this app was clearly rushed. For instance, the tutorial video is listed under training, which is in small writing, and listed under “shifts.” In fact, there were a lot of things under the “shifts” tab that were irrelevant. The road map for the app is not well done. Also, they say you can chat with someone, but every time I go, there’s no one to chat with. I think they only have chat support available when an employee is available, but they don’t mention when that employee is available. Today, I found something very inappropriate that someone added to the skills list. I wanted to notify them. Unfortunately, there is no chat available. I do like how they tell you the total you will make. You get approved fast for jobs and can start making money right away, which is awesome. Slow To NO ResponseThe app is ok once the company FINALLY updates your information. They say up to 72 hours but I’ve had “applications” that haven’t been processed in MONTHS!!! Right now as we speak I’m waiting for them to approve ONE picture so I can have access to the shifts I HAVE ALREADY WORKED AND BEEN APPROVED FOR IN THE PAST. I found steady employment so I stopped using Instawork WHICH AFFECTED MY ACCOUNT NEGATIVELY (pretty dumb considering most of us use this app to fill in gaps of employment) you would think an option to verify permanent positions would be offered to avoid the aforementioned from happening BUT that’s just too close to having common sense. Customer service is NON EXISTENT which means that if you have a problem IT WILL NEVER GET RESOLVED. I still think it’s worth it.I think this app has potential! That said the punishment for cancellation and no shows are harsh. I cancel a gig for the same shift same date to pick up more hours for the same shift same date and was penalized for that. I also have an open incident report with a company after feeling threatened on the job and was penalized for not showing up the next day for the sale job I was threatened at. So they have blocked my account for a month. All these things were a oversight on the apps part. They say they respond within 2 hours they don’t I have screen shots and plenty of them were my messages went in answered for days even weeks. By the time a response is given it’s to late. All I want to do is be able to work and be treated fairly. I never missed a shift and worked some pretty strenuous jobs. And I’m thankful for the app for providing work. But to be fair to us as employees they should be more in our corner as well as the partner WE MATTER TOO! And to feel like I’m being punished for picking up more hours on the same shift same day, and not showing up to a gig that I have an open incident report for we’re I felt threatened is ludicrous. All and all the work flow is decent and the pay is reasonable. I just feel like in my situation things were over looked and no one took the time to see why I didn’t show up or that my cancellation was to generate more hours for the same shift and time. Shift Access/EligibilityI’ve been enjoying this app so far & it’s been doing pretty well with extra money but the issue I have is when your trying to apply for more positions to work other categories of other jobs such as Warehouse - Intermediate you have to go through a coach call. My issue is when I got my coach call the person doing the interview was only going based off one simple question that didn’t seem had nothing to do with the qualification of my prev roles I have worked on my resume. It’s unfair to the workers (If they have had this issue) to only be approved to work other shifts based on these coach calls asking one lousy question and whatever answer you give is what determines you being approved or not. & not only if you don’t get approved, you HAVE TO WAIT 6 MONTHS! for another coach call !?!? That’s ridiculous & unfair to the workers. What is the point of putting a resume on there if the coach callers aren’t even gonna review it ? But only go based on a one question. One simple question shouldn’t determine my qualification for other positions. Poor verifications processI’ve never written a review for anything before but I’ve run out of options. I worked one shift so far and it was fantastic being able book a shift, work and get paid quickly. I love the idea and being able to be mobile with my work. My problem is I have almost a decade of restaurant experience in the front and the back of the house but got denied positions. Initially, I was approved to work but after my coach call I was denied the positions I was already approved for before. There was a significant language barrier between me and the coach and it’s frustrating that someone with likely no experience in my field can decide whether I’m qualified or not. Literally at my current employment I am working alongside, directing and training instaworkers on front and back of house restaurant duties. That’s how I found out about Instawork in the first place. I’ve tried reaching out on the app but the chat bot keeps ending the conversation and won’t connect me to anyone. I’d love to turn this into a 5 star review but I can’t even work in my field. The support needs to be improvedI have worked for instawork for many years and do enjoy the flexibility to pick and choose my schedule. I haven’t had many issues when picking up a gig, working and getting paid. I did reach out to support on December 2nd requesting to be paid my earned sick pay. It is now almost 2 months and I am still desperately waiting for this to be taken care of. I have send a few additional inquiries since requesting them to take care of my initial request. A couple of support opperators have closed out my duplicate requests stating my initial request is being worked on however this is not true and my request is still waiting to be addressed with no answer. I know that I am not the only one who has experienced issues when it comes to trying to have support resolve an issue. I have had a few minor concerns in the past and they seem to not read or understand you initial request and just send back some pre scripted responses that really don’t have much to do with resolving your issue. Aside from the lack of support I would have given the app 5 stars. I’m hoping that my inquiry is resolved asap as this is causing a huge financial burden. I’d give 6 stars if I couldI have been on Instawork over a year now and it’s been life changing for the better! I started out doing Instawork as a side gig but I quickly learned I loved the diversity in working at various locations and networking with so many people in the hospitality industry! Can work before all experience is verified which is greatThe process to get all your information uploaded onto the app, complete all the assessments/experience/assessments can be time consuming for sure, I will say I had to pop around the app a lot to find out everywhere I needed things uploaded too-, but after some good elbow grease you do start getting offered available shifts. I will say you probably won’t snag the first couple hours want unfortunately because you need to have all the following questions pre-answered because the shifts go to first come first serve and the 10 seconds to add a missing piece of information was too long and the shift is unavailable- BUT You get to join the waitlist which is nice and I actually got my first scheduled shifts just shortly just after my W2 verification went through and I9 documents. I needed that while the employment clarification waits to go through. So poke around to every corner of the app and upload as much of you as you can! It’s worth it. Ridiculous punishment systemI really like this app and the concept of it and have made pretty decent money so far using it. My problem however is the punishments. I booked a multi day shift with a local factory. I worked every day, was there on time and did a great job. The last 2 days of the 10 day shift I missed due to having the flu (didn’t know it was the flu at the time). The first day I woke up and felt sick but still tried to make it and just physically couldn’t so I canceled the shift. The second day I woke up throwing up and running a fever. I cancel the shift and appeal the suspension. “To be fair” they couldn’t accept my appeal even though I told them I was sick the day before and that day. The factory I was working at was a seafood factory….can’t work around food sick!!! My account is suspended for a week. I now can’t see the shifts I had booked already prior to the suspension but also don’t see them as being canceled. Can’t reach out to anybody because I just keep getting a “Try Again” message. So I was suspended for having the flu. Any other job I would have called out and had to submit documentation. They however decided I shouldn’t be able to book anymore shifts for a week because I’m sick. Sorry I didn’t know I would get sick when I booked the shifts 2 and 1/2 weeks ago. They need to redesign their punishment system. Also they marked me as a no-show so I can’t get any badge levels next month. A 7 day suspension wasn’t enough? I mean my parents didn’t even punish me this much as a child yet and app not only took away my ability to work for 7 days but also took away my ability to be rewarded for all of the shifts that I worked again BECAUSE I HAVE THE FLU???!!!?? Be careful of shift leaders and customer supportI am currently dealing with a issue regarding a recent shift. They adjusted my pay stating I was not a location when I actually was. Luckily I was prepared for this and took pictures of the location, contacted support, the site shift leader with the number provided, as well as messaged the group chat just to cover myself incase something came up later. And just like predicted something did happen!!!! Customer seems to want to sweep it under the rug and not pay me which I don’t understand why because I’ve giving them proof and even asked them to contact SAS which is the company I was going to help support through Instawork. I’m guessing they never did because they’re trying to avoid my me and keep closing the conversation stating I never worked even after send photos of me at location, me contacting support and shift leader as well as purchasing something at the location with time and date. Great platformI’m so thankful for this platform and how it has given me the flexibility to stay self sufficient during hard times. I initially enjoyed this app until I realized that the shift leaders are sometimes not trust worthy and it’s really easy for them to set you up placing their good friends to come befriend you for information or just to see where your integrity lies…I’ve been strategically placed in areas where there were nothing but imposters and informants calling themselves analyzing me. I was disrespected so bad on one of the shifts and when I attempted to tell management that I was leaving they beat me to it claiming that I wasn’t feeling well!! At first thoughtI worked on this app for a few months clocked in to all jobs early, never cancelled, got five star reviews from everyone I worked for, never got any complaints or bad marks or anything. I actually still have people I worked for on this app asking me to get my app unlocked because they need workers like me. Well I do jobs that do not require a background check because that’s all I’ve seen so far and then one day a job goes on that requires a background check so I apply next thing I know all of my jobs are canceled and the companies are asking me what happened and why I’m unable to work for them anymore. I do not get a reason for being blocked or a reply to my messages or anything come to find out i had some really old stuff on my record 8 or 9 years at that so I’m guessing that’s why I was blocked. Why block me from the entire app though when some don’t care about my background check? Wouldn’t it make much more since to keep a five star employee with 100% success rate on and allow me to continue to work the same jobs I had been than to let me go completely? Well now I’ve gotten my background cleaned up a bunch since it was all so old anyways only there’s no way to contact the app to get it relooked at so the companies can yet again have an amazing employee. You’d have a lot more companies satisfied if you’d allow people like me to continue to work jobs we’re qualified for rather than block us completely. You are just a number to them!!!!You get to work with some great people and great companies and most of the work is really easy!! However the instawork staff like the leads and managers and the system isn’t all that great. Most of the instawork leads talk to you like you are be neath them or something! (Even when you want to clock in they don’t like you speaking to them). No Support Center for WorkersThere is absolutely no way to contact “Instawork”, the phone “customer care” # tells you to leave a message and then immediately after hangs up. I booked 3 weeks for a company and they told me I could work a different location of a project because of the fact they had instaworkers there too and I asked 4x about getting clocked in and I heard all day “it will get fixed” as soon as that shift ended my account was suspended and all my other shifts for that location disappeared. I don’t know why my account is still suspended 2 days later when I worked the shift, the “partner company” (the location you are working at for however many days) approved my time clock adjustment almost immediately after I requested it so no bad on their part, but my stupid account got restricted for no reason, when in fact I showed up and went. Now I have been up all night trying to figure out if I should take the hour drive to “work” in the morning when I left today and still confirmed with the supervisor that I was needed the next two weeks and he goes “see you tomorrow” I can’t stand the lack of worker tech support. Google is filled with questions on “how to contact Instawork? Is there a number? Can you email?” Because the app or “temp agency” doesn’t give anybody to contact. OH also to mention ANY time you go to contact your “supervisor” for the shift with their given 20 digit number it gives a few different error codes, when you call the SAME number. Problematic Software.This app will get you some great gigs, don’t get me wrong. But they clearly could use some temp workers of their own to deal with all of the technical problems they have. First of all, if anything goes unexpected with your shift don’t expect to be paid for your work. I wasn’t able to clock out for my first shift and still haven’t been paid even though I’ve filed a complaint-this is over a month ago now. Every person I’ve met from Instawork who’s worked at least a few gigs have had this issue. Pretty problematic when you’re expecting hundreds of dollars but those just never appear. Today though, was the trigger for this review. I booked a shift last night and drove over an hour to get here. Over twenty minutes before my shift, while I was 3 minutes away from the l’ovation, they texted me saying I wouldn’t make it so they removed me. So now I’ve invested my time and money but I get removed with no prior notice and no compensation. Of course their app has no means to to address problems such as these (they have preset catatonies of problems that you can choose from, oh and there’s no phone number to call. So yeah def download if you feel like planning on work and pay just to have it, virtually randomly, erased. I know other workers who’ve had shifts they booked disappear with not even a message at the time of occurrence. Decent platform with software issues and unsupportive of workersThe most frustrating thing about this app is the lack of opportunity and income security. Theres often no shifts available and if you want to get even just 16 hours a week you have to book shifts weeks in advance. There is not a way to find coverage through the platform, you have to message individuals on there. You have can not cancel with the intent of working if no one else takes it and you are penalized for canceling shifts well in advance and those shifts are often booked by others within a day. These penalties result in further difficulty securing hours. There are also connectivity issues that can prevent you from clocking in and out of shifts. I have to re-confirm every shift because 90 minutes before I get a text message that says I am not tracking to the location and will be pulled off the shift in 30 minutes when I have a 40 minute commute. I've also seen someone be pulled off a shift for not confirming while working a shift and we were left understaffed because if it, even though he still arrived because he didn't know it was canceled, they were unable to get him put back on the shift after attempting to get in contact with Instawork Support and he had to go home. If I Could Give This App 0 Stars I WouldHorrible app . Horrible APP . This app has thrown me under the bus way too many times . Theres a number of reasons too. One being the communication skills with Instawork itself . If its gonna be an app where you pick up work and you are dealing with REAL money , you should have a fast , easy - access chat system where you can get to customers fast . I have to wait DAYS for an answer, only for them to not help me , rather tell me something I knew already . Another one being the app mechanics itself . The rewards program is flawed all the way - you MISS a CONFIRMATION it will take your rewards away (idk why it even does that , if I click on the shift that should mean I am committing to it) and it says they “care” about if you need to cancel . However if you DONT have anyone to cover for you and you already committed , you will lose your rewards if you click cancel if you cant manage to find a backup. ON TOP of that they will make you wait a whole other month plus just for you to regain a chance to get a rewards medal . They are INACCURATE on clocking your movements “location tracking” and if it isn't able to track you every second it will mark your account reliability lower (EVEN WHEN YOU ARE AT THE LOCATION) . Bad employersThey always say on the group chat or even on the Job list that they will provide food and drink drinks. I have not received unless I ask, which they usually have a very sour or sad look on their face and the kind of snacks/ food you receive are fruit rollup, gummies, crackers. That’s while working a 10 hour shift. they might forget to give you breaks. if there’s downtime they take away some of the hours that you worked. I only find jobs are about two hours to three hours away. Nothing close by. Usually the jobs are like $14 an hour and I always walk 20 to 40 minutes from the designed parking spot they chose to the sign in location but they do drive you from the sign in to whatever station you’re working at and sometimes it’s a five minute walk to a 15 minute walk. Most of the time when it’s clock out time they give you no warning on working over time and your boss won’t pick up the phone calls. Sometimes they don’t pay you for those hours. i had to make sure they would - no eye contact but a yes. I once told a lady my phone was going to die. If she could clock me out, she ignored me, so then another employee had stood up for me and denied her letting her sign her in. And she was frustrated with me and said I could sign you in without your phone and I said then that’s all you needed to tell me, but she stopped talking to me. I couldn’t find my car. No responseI have had so many issues with this app! And now they are just ignoring me. 12 days ago, I worked I worked a shift and I was there for an extra 3.5 hours. When I tried to adjust my time, it would only let me add 2 hours. So I wrote to support and I have still had no response from them. Then, 7 days ago, I worked an extra 2.5 hours. I couldn’t add my full time and even though they force you to “always allow” full access to your location and I clocked in for my shift, they marked me as a no show and suspended me. I already had a shift booked for the next night, which I worked an extra 3.5 hours again, which I could not add to my time. I have been writing to them about all of these things for days and days and I have not heard anything back from them at all. So now I am missing over 16 hours from my payments and they are just ignoring me. And my account is also suspended even though I did not miss my shift like they are trying to say I did. I searched online for any other way to get in touch with them and found 2 different emails. I wrote to both of these but all I received back were messages that said those emails are not monitored and to contact them on the app, but that is clearly not working!?!? This is all ridiculous! Terrible App!First i’m going to start off with how i’ve been on this app for some time now, everything has changed before my eyes! they don’t send shifts at all it’s more of a bidding app and first come first serve, now they have introduced coach calls with people on the same level as you, who have the power to seriously do damage to your profile as one did! i was approved for 15 shifts before speaking to a coach, 7 shifts were taken from me (that we never spoke about because they were approved) now why does instawork give so much power to lames who abuse authority is beyond me! Not Worth the EffortWhile the idea is good, this platform essentially functions as a loyalty club. You have to jump through hoops to get access to gigs. For example, if you’re not rated at a certain level (which is nearly impossible just starting off) you don’t even get offered the jobs or you are paid at a lower rate than others. Also, their verification process is way too difficult considering the types of work it is. They are not very responsive to applicants; it took weeks for them to get back to me after I submitted my initial information and requirements. And when I was finally “interviewed” by someone, they basically were just reading from a script and had no real sensibility for people who work in service jobs. They are not responsive to any inquiries from employees in general, and there isn’t any way to contact them directly. There are required quizzes, you must take self pics of your looks, they discriminate against people with various image attributes like decorated nails, colored hair, tattoos & piercings, you have to give multiple references for prior work experience that they also have to verify through a tedious process, the difficulties go on & on. Instawork only gets a 2 stars for the thought of the app and how it works.Other than that it is very hard, frustrating, and discouraging for us new workers that we dont get gigs in our actual area. Ones that we would be able to travel to and take and it’s actually worth our time for the money. I live in Brooklyn New York with no car as ive stated to support multiple times and all I receive is shifts upstate, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, and Pennsylvania which is obviously way too far to the point when i see if I can even book the shift the app says I can’t because its too far. Aside from never receiving shifts in my area I can actually take due to my “access level” apparently according to support is the problem and it’s nothing they can do….. Thats my main issue no accountability and no efforts to actually help who is trying to work. It is im possible there are no jobs for people just starting but on requested and favorited workers can work. Its needs to only be a certain amount depending on available slots so top pros and new comer have the same fair opportunity. Last minute updatesI was updated via text shortly after booking a gig that I would be a fill in and not going right in to work. Booked the gig less that 24 hours so my only option was to take a gamble and show up. They promise to pay me for 2 hours if the job did not need me. My problem with that is I did not sign up for “maybe you will have work” ! with no option to turn it down without being suspended. Not fair to your app users that sign up expecting to work. If you are not sure if I’m going to work meaning the commitment is not certain on your end then the suspension should not be a sure thing and final result of that situation. You want us to guarantee to be there but no guarantee I can work. Also no response or moderator with the text messages. I tried replying to the text and nothing. Then got 2 more text from different numbers. It’s like once I commit to a gig, you now own me. Again not fair to suspend with very little communication. This app needs better app user communication. Other than chatting with other app users hopping they would switch with you. PLEASE READInstawork is a middle man whose sole responsibility should be to connect workers and employers. Instead they view the labor as a resource they control and will unfairly cancel you from scheduling work and strip you of your status which affects your pay, with little to no recourse. I was working for two months and enjoyed the flexibility of instawork, when one morning at 5:30am my car wouldn’t start I contacted the employer who was understanding but when I canceled the shift on instawork I was suspended. This is because no matter the situation instawork wants you to get someone to cover the shift. So at 5:30am, and dealing with a car issue, instawork wants you to magically find someone who is awake and can cover your shift. They have an appeals process but, they are not transparent about how it works and let’s just say the support they offer is lacking in every way. I have been waiting over 12 hours for a response through the app and they claim responses are typically within 2 hours. All the work I scheduled for this week was cancelled and I was disqualified from the reward program which means I will be paid less for jobs and rather then getting paid daily will have to wait two weeks. Again all this because my car battery died. I have receipts, and instawork incessantly tracks you via the app so they know I’m being honest, yet I was still penalized. Name another “employer” in the world other than a pimp with that severe a penalty for missing work for something that was outside of your control. Worst temp agency appI had this app for years and I give it 0 stars. I was recently deactivated for no reason. I was getting a generated response on the reason for deactivation. When I finally talk to someone way in the Philippines. They said I had a bad review from a business. The business started cancelling my shifts which makes them look bad so they end up giving me a bad review purposely. I had a good rating on my profile and was just approaching platinum status. On their site there are reasons for deactivation and I did not match none of them. I showed up to all my shifts on time, never cancelled, and did all my work with no complaints. Mind you the company I was working for was breaking California law, false advertisement on shift hours, no breaks, no water in the water station in a fast paced physical demanding position, and wouldn’t allow workers to use their restroom. For them to just deactivate me based on a lie is alarming and they never told me want the business said. I think instawork should be sued. They done this to countless people. Anybody can make up anything about you. I never done anything that cause a deactivation. You can be working for them and 20 minutes after the shift banned on the app. They have no number to call or email and outsource all communication to Ai and out of the country! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND BYASS RATINGInstaworker customer service support team doesn’t care about the Instaworkers. I worked a gig last week bartend for them. I got send home early. I called the following day to file a complaint about company who was very disorganized and very indecisive on how to arrange the bar setting. Didn’t even have a proper meeting about any rules or anything that we can be aware of. This was not the first time I bartend for them before. First gig working for them they had me check ID’s instead which is not part of my job duties as a Bartender. I complained this to the support team. I requested for my ratings to be disputed ahead of time. 3 days later my account was suspended, I called and called them to get some justification NO answer. 3rd support team member I got a hold of told me it will be activated in 2 weeks. I was in shock when I was told that. It’s Holiday season and I’m being personally requested to work for some companies.. I said I need my account to be reactivated. I’m a single parent and this is gonna be hardship for me and my family. Until now NO ONE hasn’t reached out to me. There’s no Integrity or dignity or positive solution. I waited for nothingI waited a week before the first gig I scheduled. Allows businesses to steal from youThe app is horrible to use when you need customer service. Also it has failed to track my location at clock IN time (so you lose money because you’re unable to clock in and when you request an adjustment with the business they will reject it because Instawork tells them that you were not tracked in the building yet) but conveniently works so well when you’re clocking out that if you’re 10 feet outside the door it tells you that you’re too far away to clock out. They also allow the business to pre schedule a break which deducts (in my case 30 minutes of pay) from my check for a break that I was never offered or took. If they want to do that the business should have to keep track of who took how long of a break and enter that manually later. They are breaking federal law by doing this. It could be an enormous lawsuit and everyone involved would be able to get all their back pay and penalties (typically around $1000 per person per incident) I ask customer service to help and they just tell me to request an hours adjustment. But the businesses just reject it so what’s the point? Breaks should be confirmed in the app as they are happening. HorribleI have had several bad encounters with Instawork but today takes the cake! I was transferred a shift from another Instaworker at 2:00 EST. The shift was accepted and there were absolutely no prompts, messages or anything that we as Instaworkers know to look out for. About a hour later my account was suspended and my ability to book shifts were gone. I then at that point received a text saying that I was removed from the shift because I did not confirm it. This is a lie!! I was never prompted to confirm, for one. Secondly, I tried to appeal this obvious glitch in their system and my appeal was denied! All by trying to help someone else out! Why would I accept the transfer if I was not going to confirm or work the shift and also I am in good with this site. The company who Instawork was sending me to. So good in fact that I was favorited and offered a permanent position several times. This is truly ridiculous. Of course their customer service reps have not responded because the help is non existent! Meanwhile I'm losing out on money and they could care less. Straight up thievesMy boyfriend has problems with Insta work from the very beginning. First it was with the uniforms and verification. The app glitched and didn’t show him on of the categories he needed to start a shift. It took two weeks and many workers for someone to finally be of use and help. Once he got his first shift, he did exactly as the app told him and began to work. The shift was fine, but he had to fight to get the tips he was rightfully owed. When he received his first payment from that shift, Instawork took the money he was owed saying that the company reported he didn’t show. My boyfriend had a mountain of evidence that he did work, from pictures of the event, the shift leads name, names of other people from insta work at the event, captain codes (what you need to literally start the event), but was tossed from worker to worker, having to re explain his case repeatedly. Some of the people just left the chat without even responding! Finally, someone submitted a claim but the company denied it saying he didn’t work. How! When he has so much evidence of him being there?? Customer support is the absolute worst. Corporate doesn’t care at all and they are so unprofessional. They just blatantly stole his money. Instawork ROBS your wageDon’t trust these guys, we were total 35 members who worked on September 9th,2022 to September 11th, 2022 for Rolling Loud gig and were still not paid our TIPS money till date(November 8,2022). The money is not less for each person, it’s about $1000 - $1500 each person should be getting. How many times we contact the support team through chat because they don’t have any phone number to contact, the person who ever replies to our enquiry says the are still processing and will take couple of weeks. It’s the same answer from past two months, one of the support person already declared that we got your TIPS information from the client and your money should be paid by next week, but it was never paid. Don’t waste your time on thisI wasted my 2 years trying to take shifts. Got referrals gave all documentation attended screening calls as well but apparently their system does not accept Canadian SIN.
