Motionleap: 3D Photo Animator Customer Service

A long-time fan of the “original” Enlight photo editor, & a convert to Enlight Photofox, I was super excited when I saw they added an animation editor to the lineup! After using their photo editor(s) for about 3 years, I expected Pixaloop to be amazing, & they delivered. Its UI is so intuitive & friendly it borders on flirtatious! The layout/work canvas is crisp, clean & uncluttered. It has more tools/features than I could’ve asked for—plenty of options to create just about anything you dream up! There’s an especially large library of “effects”—light FX, pseudo camera movements, & a ton of overlays like rain, sparkles, fog, flames, butterflies etc etc etc! They’ve even expanded those sections/varieties since I first DL 👍 It’s enough to keep me interested & creating even after a year 😄 Very much an amateur to the graphic/digital arts, I’d never tried an animation app before; they appeared very technical & tedious. I knew Pixaloop would be that beginners-friendly program that can help even the most digitally &/or artistically illiterate create spectacular pieces 💕

First, the idea of the app is neat, but I will be deleting the enlight Pixaloop application as you have no option to export or save the animated picture to my photos (I am using an iPhone 11 Pro Max). With that being said I don’t want to upgrade to pro but in order to save any animated photo, you have to upgrade? This is not good user experience. I would charge money for the “pro” upgrade options and at least make it so the basic version can save the photo? Second, get a hyperlink added to your “contact us” option at the bottom of your HELP section, so users can be directed to their email with your email link attached. At least remove the “Pro” words above the options so it doesn’t lead users to believe they can save the photo or upload to Instagram for free.

I liked the free version of Pixaloop a lot so I upgraded to the paid one year pro version. It works fine on my phone, but when I am using it on my iPad (same Apple ID), it still tells me to upgrade and remove the pro limit. I should be able to use the app on both devices. I deinstalled and reinstalled the app, which makes it now possible for me to use the pro features on pictures (even though the app still displays the „pro only“ icon). But I am unable to export the projects in a better quality or in any format that is not supported in the free version. If I click „remove pro limit“ I am directed to the subscription screen, from where there is nowhere to go, because I don‘t want to subscribe double of course, plus, I get a pop up from Apple reminding me that I already subscribe to pro (which is correct). If anyone can help fix this, I would be grateful, because I‘m not wanting to pay for this and not be able to fully use it since I do most projects on my iPad. Updated on 7/5: There is actually a link underneath the subscription button saying „already paid?“ that allows one to put in your Apple ID password, I did not see that before, it is tiny, but it is there. I‘m still giving the app 4 stars because it could be a bit more up to date on weather/seasons and holidays when it comes to themes. It‘s July right now and it has rain overlays, fall leaves and haunted house themes. But otherwise I LOVE it!

Very easy to use. Masking is not hard. You can zoom in for smaller details. Output is high quality. For me, 6 sec of 2k quality works best for Instagram. Love the lightning, rain, and fireworks overlays. Also, the fire element is totally dope. I used it on a ghost rider photo from the Long Beach Comic Expo. I’m having a blast using it. You can check out my malphotoz Instagram for proof. I have a desktop version of a much more expensive app, and I much prefer this. I love being able to do this all on my iPhone. Please keep adding overlays and elements. They are what really add to this. I purchased the one time price. Well worth the money IMHO. I have never left a better review for any other app. Keep up the great work!

This is has been one of my favorite apps for the last several years and I have paid membership. I used it almost every day... until the latest update. No disrespect, but I am extremely disappointed about the changes made after this last update. Every feature that I used before is no longer there. No pins, no freeze, no bounce option... I have not been able to use the app since and it’s extremely frustrating. However, I’m still going to give a good rating because I have a paid subscription to several other apps by Lightricks that I absolutely love and use on the daily. I hope Lightricks will consider adding back the previous features to this app because I can’t use it the way it is, and I’ll have to cancel my subscription.

I had the free version of this software since ‘19. I just this week decided to treat myself to the paid version because I thought I might enhance my super successful videos with some more tricks. Somehow I updated, perhaps I had to, I don’t remember, but the most unique and brilliant feature, which was the ability to manipulate the pixels in the animation, has been tragically dumbed down to a point that it’s utterly useless. I CAN’T BELIEVE IT. I would never have purchased the subscription and updated. That’s really the ONLY thing I need to use. Everything else you can get Anywhere else. What a shame….

I virtually have nothing bad to say about this app. I’m thoroughly satisfied. Just 1 (not so) minor thing though. When I first acquired it, the 3D features had no extra decorations to them (clouds, butterflies, etc). The latest update added them, and personally, I feel the 3D effects were MUCH better ‘without’ these elements. Would it be possible to rather allow the user to add these elements from within another setting option, rather than force them as component of all 3D effects? I’d like that change back to the initial style :)

So I would love to give this app five stars however it’s lacking variety and with so many motion graphics available I feel like it’s lacking options-and I’m a little stumped on your animation tutorial that is within the app it shows the brush selection as feathered so it doesn’t have to be so defined on edges of what you’re trying to select or deselect and when I go to use the animation tool it has a rough defined edge that makes it look really stupid when you try to animate so those are my complaints I think that there is tremendous potential for this app but you need to widen your capacity, options and variety of elements

I truly like this app, and I purchased the pro for the one time fee. It’s a very cool concept and is pretty darn user friendly once you drill into it. My only issue/request is the content. For the amount charged, I do feel more frequent updates of content options would be great to see, specifically on the overlays and the elements that are available. For a while they seemed to at least change them up a little more frequently, but I haven’t seen one in a while. Weekly or monthly updates of available content would be the thing that would get me to a 5 star review. Aside from that, I enjoy the heck out of this app.

It’s like that other one—without all the social bloat! I went ahead and purchased for the one-time fee; it’s totally worth it. Pixaloop is so easy to use to animate your photos; plus, they are adding new (animated) elements and overlays all the time. Also love the ability to erase parts of the overlays (other similar apps don’t allow this). In addition, a beautiful selection of professional photos to use (Unsplash, probably) is provided within the app. My only request would be to please allow us to add more than one element/layer, thus upping the creative uses of this fabulous app. Highly recommended!

Love the app, very intuitive UI and was making content in <5min. As a new user I may just not know where to look, but is there an option to “mirror” an effect? For example, the weather effects - would love to be able to send the fog right to left, instead of left to right. And for the water, a slider to control the speed of the animation (slow down the waves to make more realistic). Lastly, a better UX for managing projects would be nice! (Select multiple projects to delete, mostly QoL). Love, New User

Update: Contact support and they cleared it up. I did not need to purchase a app for separate devices. They not only addressed my concerns but responded with in an hour. The suggested worked perfectly and I’m on to my next project. The 2 star is only for the upgrade policy. The app was easy enough to use. I was able to upload, edit a photo, experiment with the tons filters and save to IG in a couple hours. I expect the next project to go much faster. But...I upgraded to pro from my phone and now need to purchase again to use pro on my tablet. So it’s a nice app but be aware if you want to use on multiple devices you’ll pay double.

Love this app and paid for the one year subscription, but last night as I was editing a photo for my social media page, I encountered an error that didn’t used to happen. :( The sky feature is upside down so the horizon comes from the top of the photo, and the brush/eraser size doesn’t work so I can’t do fine tuning. It’s just stuck at one size even if I adjust it. Would really appreciate a fix as this sky feature was working completely fine the past week 🙏🏻 I tried reinstalling the app but still nothing 😔

I recommend this app! There’s not too many premium features which is nice! I only have one complaint, you can’t export with the premium! This is really upsetting. And I feel you need to realize not everyone can pay for things like that. If you could just make that one feature non premium I would really appreciate it! Have a great day and stay safe. Update: There is a way to export it!! You just cannot have any pro features on the photo! But if you wanted the pro features I guess you could either pay or you could just screenshot it!

Literally for more than a year I have searched for an App for the iPhone or software for my Mac that would allow me to make some of the image modifications that this one App does. Download it, dive in taking as many risks with your images as you want, knowing that it is SO simple to reverse anything you’ve done that you then don’t like or that wasn’t what you were trying to accomplish. The features are rich (download the additional tools you want). MORE powerful than some graphics and photo editing Apps that are much more expensive!

Hi there, I just purchased the premium subscription to Motionleap because of one feature: the “Beatloop,” which I am using to create cool visualizations to promote my music. The audio visualization ability offered by Motionleap is amazing, and super user-friendly, which is exactly what I was looking for. However, I have one slight complaint, which is that the only way to import audio is by selecting a video. It would be much easier if I could simply choose a mp3 or wav from files to use with the beatloop, since it doesn’t use the video anyway. If they add the ability to import audio files directly, this would be an easy 5 star, because it is so easy to make things look SO good! Please, it would help same me a lot of time. My favorite features are the 3D camera effect, and the “harmonize” feature that allows most effects to sync to music. Overall amazing app, just the one complaint.

This app is great and works very well even if you don’t pay to upgrade.

Please please add features from beatleap to MotionLeap, motionleap already has a high user base, but it seemingly looked abandoned now. I understand Videoleap is lightricks baby now, but some of us animators prefer motionleap. Please add features like image to video animations and beat syncing features like beatleap, magichour.ai, kaiber.ai, Leonardo Ai and genmo Ai. Add ability to also upload gif images or mp4 videos and edit in motionleap, like video to video motion stylization, image to video motion animation, text to video motion animations etc. these would be cool for, AMV, GMV, LO-FI, MUSIC VIDEO ANIMATIONS, etc. and Extend video/image animations to 3 minutes, YouTube shorts is now 3 minutes long.

Have had a couple of strokes. This helps with concentration. 🧡

I have always loved and renewed this rare subscription, lately however, when I try to save my animations I get a ‘Cancelled’ error and I cannot tell why. Anyone else experience this? Also, I would prefer if when I click save, it saves without your logo if you are a subscriber. I end up having to save a second time after turning off the logo. Makes for a lot of cleaning up my saved images later.

Yes Theres a lot of things that require payment, but it’s so fun to use! I needed to animate a background to make it look like flames and this app did exactly what I needed! 100% recommend :D

I used to use this app a good bit. I loved the animate feature and how in depth it was with pins, directions, etc. Now, most of that is gone AND you have to pay to save/export ANYTHING. Even the least little thing, you have to subscribe. The animate feature is what made this app stand out, but it isn’t near good enough to make me interested in even considering subscribing. It’s been pared down and honestly, the fact that you have to pay a monthly/yearly fee to export anything is beyond ridiculous. I understand fees for things, ie filters, pro editing choices, etc, but having to pay a fairly large fee (for a photo editing app) for everything you use in insanity. I know the developers will comment on this review and say ‘oh we have loads of free things you can do with our app!’…sure you do, but you can’t save any of them, which defeats the purpose of this app to begin with. I’ve decided to delete this app altogether, and while I know I’m just one person, there are so many others with the exact same complaints as me, who are also deleting it, and moving on to other things, it would probably be a good idea to at least make it how it used to be, where you could save things without subscribing, or at least offering a one by one fee, per picture maybe. There are so many other apps with much better features. I’ve already downloaded some of them, and I’m going to delete every app I have that you guys make. I hate that it’s come to this, as I said, I used to love your apps, but I have no choice.

Is not Apple Pencil friendly. (Has serious lag in this area). Does not follow desired path. Inadequate masking feature. Lacks extreme precision. Extremely sloppy. Lacks multiple layering within animation packs. No add feature... what if I want to add 10,000 butterflies? I’m not able to do this. Some of the features are very nice and very well animated but not enough layering options. Correct me if I’m wrong and not doing something right. I do feel this app has an extreme amount of potential and I downloaded it for obvious reasons. I suggest taking a lesson from#superimpose app and how their masking tools work. They are a very precise tool and things should be done in this fashion. I definitely think that you guys would benefit from that me being a beta tester for this tool. I am an accomplished artist. I am using iPad Pro 12.9” with the Apple Pencil, of course. Your tools are not matched to qualify using with the Apple Pencil. As well I had to pay to see what this app and goes instead of getting a late version. This makes me extremely cautious in having to pay to use your video lab application in which I I am very interested in using for my artwork. Again I would love to beta-test for you guys I would definitely upgrade to five stars if you were to fix these options that I have listed.

I love this app, but it has one major, decent sized problem... I got this app and loved it, in fact I loved it so much I decided to become a premium member for a year. Paid the $60 myself (I was like 12). Next year comes around and I don’t use this as much anymore, don’t get me wrong it was great and it was so much better like this. So I canceled my subscription. Well I was looking back at some of the animations I did using the premium options and non of them would load! See, I prefer if my animation is “live” as my phone calls it, because it has a better effect. Well the editors of this app know as well, so unless you pay premium you are not going to be able do that. Anyway, I realize now that after my subscription time was up this happened. Interesting isn’t it? I paid $60 so I could animate save live and when I go to look back at it, it won’t work! Now I could go back and do it again, but like I said, cant use live unless you are a premium member. That was a major reason I got it! So if I don’t keep paying, I won’t be able to see anything I ever do with the premium?! That’s seems unfair is really all I’m trying to say. 😕

I understand a lot of the Pro items and that it can’t really be a totally free app. However, I think that it’s…. ridiculous that I can’t export things I might’ve made on the animate function. I think that, for me, the best solution would be making it so maybe I have to pay a dollar or two each time I want to export a video. Because a lot of what people have come to this app for is the animate function that they’ve seen on the internet, and it’s kind of discouraging to me rather than encouraging me to buy the Pro options. I wanted to create something and share it with others, but I can’t do so without the export function only coming with a business deal and an inability to screen record. I feel like, if I made something and I wanted to share it and didn’t have the Pro option, I would want to pay a dollar or two or three, and that would be that without buying a huge pack of benefits I don’t want. I was first introduced to this app at the Apple Store. I loved it and immediately got it on my device. The first thing that popped up when I opened the app was it asking me to get their Pro Pack for like six dollars a month. I closed out of it, and began to edit a photo. I was all of a sudden extremely disappointed to see that only a very VERY small number of filters, exporting options, and editing tools are available to you if you do not have the Pro Pack. I soon realized that the app at the Apple Store was a demo, therefore every filter was unlocked. So, basically, if you get Pixaloop and don’t pay for the Pro Pack, you are essentially getting just a preview of the app with the Pro Pack.😕 I really really wanted to love this app, which is why I put two stars instead of one. Sadly, I will most likely will be deleting it soon due to the fact that you have to pay (MONTHLY) for access to all of the filters. Also, you can get a one time purchase but it’s sixty dollars which I will NOT pay. The pro pack is probably worth about five dollars (maybe ten, but that’s pushing it) for a one time purchase.

If you can remember a children’s book series called ”Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark” with the nightmare-fuel cover illustrations? All of this app’s AI-created people look like those illustrations, except full color this time instead of just creepy pencil drawings. Anything I ask it for comes back with people that look like they got pulled out of a burning car. I’ve tried rewording things. I’ve been specific. I’ve been non-specific. I’ve been patient. I’ve prayed over it, and I mean I’ve actually pleaded with God to accept the souls of the AI creations I’ve made with this app as I’ve swiped past them, because I feel guilty for bringing them into their brief and tortured existence. Seriously, this was not ready to be unleashed onto the public. OR: you guys could repackage this thing, exactly like it is, as a horror-themed AI-image creator. Any prompt returns something scary, no matter how innocent you try to make it. You just don’t tell anybody you made it by accident, and start raking it in. Jumpscare by Lightleaks.

I really enjoy the many filters and effects included once you purchase a subscription. I also really enjoy the loop and export feature, hence two stars. However...I won’t be renewing my pro subscription. I’ve been misled. Why is it that the mask brush and eraser are inoperable outside of “animate mode”? This is kind of ridiculous, when you think about it. There are so many great, well made effects, but what’s the purpose if we can’t mask any of them properly? You can’t slide the size, there’s no pressure sensitivity, no feathering. If you’re working on a phone without a stylus, you’re screwed. How does this make sense? I honestly believed purchasing a subscription would magically enable the masking tool in the promo, but alas. I only purchased the pro version because of the advertising in the videos, showing perfectly masked figures and overlays. It’s a joke. I’m SUPER disappointed in this app and dev team, but I guess I should have known better. Looked far too good to be true. If you’re reading this and just need a good editor with overlays and elements, try CapCut. It’s 100% free and I noticed a LOT of the overlays (take the galaxy for example) are exactly the same in CapCut. Not sure if they’re using the same asset library or what. Last but not least, please consider toning down the ad pop-ups for your pro subscribers. I purchased pro, I don’t need a million reminders and tabs taking up screen space that you have other products I need to spend my money on.

It’s a fun little animation app. A cool way to take some social media posts up a notch. Here is the big problem.... If I am rating this app as a little fun photo app I would give it 5 stars. I would even pay a single .99 or maybe 1.99 fee for a pro version and recommend it to my friends. However, the problem is they are charging like this is an Adobe product. The monthly fee is absolutely silly for an app this featureless. It’s a fun little product that totally missed in the monetization method. I see this going one of two ways. Either add a mountain of continually expanding features, think Adobe products, or make this a one time .99 fee for the “pro” version. Otherwise, I guarantee most people will do what I do. Play with the very limited version for a week or so and never use it again. The devs built a cool little app. It would be sad to see it fade because of a poorly thought out compensation strategy.

I’ve used this app for several years and loved it to make some great designs. Honestly, though? For $60 a year, you’d think you’d offer more elements, more overlays, effects, skies, water, etc. This app hasn’t changed since I first used it. Now? AI portion is awful. I can go on Discord and do incredible things with Midjourney this app can’t even touch. I barely use the photo apps in this package. I would only subscribe to one or two, but your hard sell nagging me while trying to use an app of yours I paid for is just rotten business practice. I finally signed up for the whole package just to get your pop ups to stop, but I won’t this year. The value just isn’t worth it. It’s like you’ve grown bored and tired of your own wonderful apps. I wish you would offer just Videoleap and Motionleap. Photoleap, Artleap, and Lightleap are worthless. They are never updated, either. You’re going to lose a long-time customer this next year. Sad but I don’t think you care.

I’ve been working on a project with a lot of moving pieces, for weeks now & I just opened the app to work on it some more... and BAM!! You guys made the “animate” pro! It was not “pro” a couple of weeks ago... I even exported some creations that were “animated”... I’m so upset about this... You can’t just give something and then in the middle just take it away! You know, I absolutely love your editing apps and use them religiously, but this is low... I understand making some of the overlays and fancy effects pro, but the option to select and put into motion should be given! It’s the main attraction of the Motionleap app! Like I said I love your apps, and I refer people to them all the time, but at this moment in my life, I cannot afford to pay the monthly fees... Please I’d truly appreciate it if you could make the “animate” option “not pro”. Thank you!

You seriously made it where to use animate you have to go pro? This is ridiculous and never should have changed. Garbage app. I don't even see the option where you could loop the pictures to move a certain way. Taken off I guess considering I've seen subscribers complain in the reviews. Whoever had that idea needs a mental evaluation if they honestly thought that was a good idea. Don't even bother replying with "email customer service" and claiming that this app is "free", because it's not, and that's simply untrue and you know it. You have to pay now to use any good features in this app, so now it is virtually useless. There's no point in anyone using the app at this point. You literally can't do anything on this app now. You took away the only good part because you're ✨greedy✨. You baited us to update saying you added free elements and stuff. Lol do you think that makes up for what you took away or something? Will be deleting this shoddy app. Thanks a lot, god-awful developers.

My gripe isn’t with the function of Lightricks applications. By in large they are serviceable video and photo editing apps that work great in iOS. BUT let’s say you own a small business and want to use their software. If you use the core apps: Photofox for main photo editing, Videoleap for video editing, Quickshot for when you need to make a quick social media share, Facetune 2 for when you drank too much last night and Pixaloop for occasionally making posts more interesting... What would you guess it costs to use 5 mobile photo/video apps for a year? The answer is $336... $350 after taxes from the AppStore. (Per month: photofox $7, videoleap $7, pixaloop $4, quickshot $4, facetune 2 $6) For context access to all twenty of Adobe’s pro desktop and mobile applications plus 10TB of cloud storage is $599. (That includes the desktop versions of Premier Pro, Lightroom, XD, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign, 3D Dimension, hell even Acrobat) If you assume $15 of that price is for the cloud storage that comes out to about $450 for a year of access to the things that are used to make Hollywood movies, photo spreads in magazines like GQ and Vogue, to design/build websites/marketing for Fortune 500 companies. The price is $600 because Adobe employs hundreds and hundreds of engineers and coding professionals and spends millions upon millions of dollars yearly in development. (This isn’t a plug for Adobe, I don’t have anything against adobe I just don’t use their products.) They’re simply the easiest example I could think of to illustrate how preposterous it is asking users of mobile software to pay $350 a year for access. This isn’t about being cheap. I’m not someone who downs any developer who attempts to make enough money to stay in business, I spend well over $100 every month on subscriptions to apps and software. I could see paying perhaps $15/month for access to Lightricks suite of mobile apps, $350 a year however is robbery plain and simple. I won’t name other developers who make apps that compete with Lightricks but they’re out there I promise.

I got this app a while back and I loved it. Later though I started to forget about it and slowly stopped using it. I never had the premium because I could easily animate the images and add cool effects. When I came back to the app recently I noticed how the animate option was no longer free. This is really annoying to me because the only reason I had this app was to animate my images in the advanced way that this app offered me. But no, the developers had to make this feature premium now. This app is now pointless and is just like any photo editor out there. If you are seeing this and are confused either because you don’t agree or this problem has been address. Don’t worry I’m aware that this problem might have been solved by the time you read this.

This app does some of the coolest things ever and it’s EASY. So why would I give it one ⭐️ and it be one of the biggest disappointments I’ve ever purchased? I will explain... My wife NEVER purchases ANY apps that are drawing or creative designs etc; however, she came to me with this app and said “Check out this awesome app and look at what you can do with it!” So I did look at it and messed around with it and was thinking the same thing.... “It’s awesome”. So she wanted to purchase the app but wasn’t sure about spending the $60...ish “One time fee”. She thought it would be better than the monthly service charge. So I was messing with the app and I thought it was so cool I decided to purchase the app . I did it. Then I told the wife to download it and should be good to go (just like ANY OTHER APP) since we are on the family sharing plan. NOPE, she would have to pay for it as well. So here I am feeling bad because she wanted the app and it’s only good for me and $60 was only ok if we could all share it’s services....epic fail. After reaching out to the company with a very heartfelt email, they replied to me that stated since 2 out of 3 options to spend money on the app were subscriptions and only one option was a “one time purchase” apple would not let them share the purchase under regular family sharing plan and there was nothing they could do about it. So, this is something to consider when spending money on a “One time purchase” that also has monthly payment options tied to them as well. <——Apple considers this a Subscription not a purchase and there is nothing they can do about it. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Hi guys at Lightricks! 1.) Can you pleeeeeease bring back the anchors. The option to use them is a great loss. You had way more control by not being tied down to only having the masking. Masking is tedious and time consuming. There are certain scenarios where it just downright doesn’t do the job. 2.) Sometimes I want to use more than one overlay, and it is not an option. Maybe at least two, if possible, would be awesome. Other software developers are starting to come out with apps similar to yours with better interfaces and more animation options. “Eh hem”…PLOTAVERSE. At the moment, to do what you can do in that app, you need both MotionLeap and VideoLeap. I realize you come at a much better price. I also don’t mind owning both and keeping them separate. However, it would be killer to have just a little more freedom “within” MotionLeap. 3.) Would be cool if you could add the option to maybe be able to purchase more elements, effects, and overlays like in Werble and other similar apps. I’d definitely be happy to give 5 stars if you could try and implement some of these changes. And bring some old stuff back. :)

Update- customer support confirmed that animations done with the animate tool prior to the last major update are now gone. They reassured me I could do the same animations with the newly updated animate tools. This app probably has the most intuitive Ui out of all the cinemagraph apps I’ve tried so far. I was on the free version but I would pay for the one time app purchase just based on overall UX I’m still leaving a 1 star because I don’t see the point in having project drafts because you’ll lose any animations of any tools that have updated functionality like others have mentioned in their review and that’s a dealbreaker for me. I think there should be some feature added like a “read only” to projects drafts. An option to export as is for projects that have legacy tools that no longer exist or have been updated instead of completely removing animations from said projects. That sort of feature would get my purchase for premium features. I enjoyed animating with the free version of the app but I would rather just buy a cheaper app alternative at this point than buying premium to start over on older projects that would require premium features to animate

2nd Update: Omg, please stop ruining the app with your “improvements”. Why did you mess with the Sky layers? It was great before, but now you can’t control the sky’s overlay color strength and there’s no way of controlling the transparency either. Just return everything to it’s original way of operation. This app just keeps getting more difficult to work with. 1st Update: I wish you would stop messing with the app design. Every change that has been made in the last few months was a hit and miss. I wish it would go back to the original design and layout. —— Previous review: While I love the app, this version is really not good. You can’t see the number of layers in the Elements section and that means having to tap on screen over and over until you stumble on the element you need to adjust. Fix, please.

First of all, I don’t like subscriptions- especially for one-trick-pony niche apps like this. The developers want $20 a year to add barely perceptible animations to your pics, like bobbing water or moving clouds. What?!? What you can accomplish with the free version of the app is laughably bad pseudo-animations that look cheap and/or silly. I assume the effects look much better if you subscribe, but what is my incentive to pay so much money for a subscription? True, one month is *only* $3.99- but I’d rather buy a coffee than animate clouds and water around grandpa. It sounds like your best deal is a $60(!!!) lifetime purchase BUT do no not put it past the devs to come up with Pixaloop 2 in two years for another $60. These are the same guys who made Enlight, after all (which I did purchase, and then it turned into a subscription-based app, rendering my original purchase pointless). If you look at all of their apps, every single one has a free or cheaper alternative without a subscription (like Snapseed or Pixelmator), or a subscription-based app (like Lightroom) that’s light-years ahead. It seems like Pixaloop is their most creative app, but a similar (but more realistic) effect can be had for free if you use a tripod and capture a Live Photo while everyone stands still for three seconds. Pass.

I downloaded this application to add some motion to a few photos of mine. When I originally downloaded this app, it gave you the choice of either paying a monthly subscription to add motion to photos or you could do so for free with a very limited set of tools and export options. While it was quite restrictive, it still produced good results with relative ease. Today I launch the app to animate a new photo only to discover it had updated and now all aspects of adding motion to photos is locked behind a subscription based paywall. You’ve taken an app that I enjoyed using and have changed it to lock what was once free to use. I hate it so much when apps do this and will be uninstalling it as a result. I can not recommend apps to people that do this. Please reconsider.

It’s really easy to make creations and stuff and I love the all I made like 10 different pictures the problem is I can’t make no more A week ago I try to make a picture and it looks like the best one I made so far I try to export it to my photos and it didn’t work!!!! I kept trying all day I even lower the quality to see if it would work then but it still didn’t. I thought maybe if I delete some of my pictures in my gallery and the photos in my project thing but it still didn’t work. I been trying every day but no matter what I do it won’t work. I spent money on this app just for it to not work after I try it. Maybe it’s a update or something but it’s not working

I absolutely LOVED this app when I first got it. However, I am not one of those people who pay for apps on their phone, so I got the free version. After a while I offloaded it because I wasn’t using it as much. One day I went to go use it again and when I tapped on the animate option I was so disappointed to see that I now had to pay for it. I firmly believe that ruined my experience with this app. I think that the other options are great... but the animation is what sets it apart. The other options merely accent the animate option. If it is at all possible, I for one vote that you should make this option free again. Thank you for hearing my review, and I hope you consider my suggestion. 😊

I’ve had this app since it was called Pixaloop. Loved it, and I used it every day mostly for the animation tool. Then a little while back you updated it and blocked the animation behind a paywall. I was super ticked from that firstly, but yknow what? I went and bought your extremely overpriced full version. No biggie. But now?? You remove all of the advanced tools in the latest update! Why did you feel the need to do that? I regret updating this app. I relied so much on those tools, and now they’re so simplified it boggles me how you thought it was a good idea. If there was a way to get back my money I would. Please, please listen to the other reviewers when we say we want those advanced tools back. I will be looking for other apps in the meantime. I hope I get a response as to why this decision was made and if you guys will be rolling back on that decision.

This app is a really cool concept, and goes perfectly with Live Photos, but unfortunately you can't export to Live Photos without paying $20 a year or $60 once. Without that, it's really not worth using at all. Videos are so much less convenient to glance at in the photo album, while Live Photos were pretty much made for this app! If there was an option to buy an individual feature for a few dollars, such as the Live Photo export, or a certain filter you wanted, that would be a lot more palatable of an expense. You'd definitely have my purchase! As it is though, I likely will only use the app once or twice, then forget about it as a random novelty.

It’s a good idea that has been executed marginally well. My main complaint is that the preview includes animating a perfect circle using a ferris wheel as an example. Drawing a perfect circle by hand is impossible, especially on a touchscreen phone. I purchased the Pro version thinking that there might be a circle tool. Nope. After more than a week customer support finally returned my message and recommended placing individual points around the circular object I want to animate. Again, placing individual points to create a perfect circle is nearly impossible. My issue is the fact that the ad intimates the ease of creating a perfect circle when nothing could be further from the truth. It’s deceptive advertising in action and I won’t be renewing my subscription at the end of the year.

Your app looks nice and professional. However there are so many rip off apps, users are hesitant to click on anything with a subscription. I did not purchase your product due to the following two reasons. To allow users to have a great experience before purchasing or subscribing I would suggest the following: 1. You have easy access to purchase but not unsubscribe. This looks suspicious. Add unsubscribe button. Not that hard. 2. Like many users, I load apps when I see it advertised. I do a few things and then plan on doing the review later. When I finally get around to it the trial has expired. Suggestion: Give the user a couple of stock pictures and access to all the tools. This allows them to see how and if the product works as advertised. If they are comfortable, they would purchase.

For starters, please don’t make the holiday / special event overlays and assets be seasonal / temporary? Just make them available 24/7, don’t be silly. Also, it didn’t used to do this but now there seems to be a problem with the animation lines, now when I have multiple lines and continue to draw new ones, the new lines interfere with the old ones movement often stopping them completely. I’d also like for there to be a way to copy paste your frozen area drawn to the overlay erase, so I don’t have to trace the same complicated shape twice. A symmetry option for those tools would be a cherry on top. Overall love this program, it’s super close to being perfect.

When I opened this app I was excited and was hoping to make some cool videos and things like that. When I opened it up I was waiting quite awhile for this app to load. I went to go get some effects and I don’t want to mention but if your one of those people who HATE getting apps saying there free but then you have to get a subscription. I wasn’t to thrilled that half of the things I couldn’t use but I was still hoping that I could probably use a picture. I clicked on a picture then it froze and it kept on continuing. I exited it and went back in and I thought, maybe not. That’s just what I think of this app. I hope this is helpful to you.

I recently just updated the app and lost over half of all moving elements, lost most all the sky overlays. Lost more then half of the effects. It downgraded a whole bunch of features I once had before. I bought a yearly subscription for this app and am shocked that so much has been removed from it from what you once could do before… If you have this app and paid for a yearly subscription I highly recommend not to update it because you will lose everything you created and all of its previous features. I will be canceling my subscription. It used to be a very good app now it’s limited in the things you can do to make your pictures or art into something special.

Sure, this app is neat. Moving pictures are pretty. Unfortunately, the impossibly short free trial period for the full app is pretty obviously designed to screw you out of $20 dollars (a year subscription). An app with users in mind would at the very least default to a monthly one ($3.99). Better yet, it wouldn’t rely on counterintuitive design to trick users into losing money at all. There should be information on how to unsubscribe IN the app! I shouldn’t have had to dig through reviews to find answers. And before I get the canned response from the developer about contacting you at any time with questions - I DID. Nobody responded, and something tells me if I’d waited for you to get around to me it would have conveniently happened after y’all charged my account. ✌🏼

I used to love editing with this app for introductions on my roleplay page on Instagram. Sadly, that all went down when they made us pay for almost all the features, including the animated ones. There are barely any effect and animation tools you can use for this app anymore. Since i didn’t want to pay any money for this (considering that I don’t have any money), I decided to screen record it. HOWEVER, this alien figure popped up on the screen and told me to pay for the pro. I’m really frustrated with this app, and it makes me incredibly furious knowing that I have to basically pay to get the best features. I’m honestly on my urge to delete this app because of this.

Honestly this is a super cool concept. the idea of bringing photos to life within minutes is amazing, and I think it’s great that you’re letting us do this. however, only the basic features are for free. I played around with this app for several weeks before realizing it wasn’t really what I thought it was. this isn’t the only app like this, all the editing apps in the pack are. without paying, you can export it as a video, but not a live photo or gif. there are some big disadvantages to not paying. if you’re considering getting the app for fun, just know that it’s not close to it’s full marketed potential if you don’t pay.

The app is amazing overall, there’s only a problem in it. No glitch, nothing. I just dislike the fact that we have to pay for everything. Literally every single effect. I get you want to make money, and be successful. But making someone’s day worse and forcing them to pay isn’t a good way. I understand you’re being successful, but people want to have fun too. I don’t like the fact that almost all the effects are premium, I just wish this app made the effects free, since this app is amazing and great. And I’d be glad if you respond with a reasonable answer.

This apps great it has a reasonable amount of free stuff available for my broke pockets to use but... 💁‍♀️ w h y do you keep changing the way 3-D motion overlays work without telling me about it?! I was working on this project and I was on my way to use the f r e e 3-D motions available for me I realize “huh, the overlays have to be paid for? Ok I’ll just remove them!!” .... but you updated it ... and You literally did not tell me how to remove the overlays from the 3-D motion . Now listen, I most likely don’t make a lot due to my lack in IQ but, can you please just n o t do this all of a sudden? If you don’t want it to be free anymore, y’know what that’s fine but w h y do you not give actual updates of the crucial changes like this one?! 😩 (edit: yeah no you just completely ruined the app I’m out bro 💃🏿)

Even when using the free effects, it doesn’t let you export your video without paying to “remove pro limit”. What’s even the point then? This used to be free but for some reason they changed the name and put up a paywall. Why not just make it a paid app instead of trying to swindle people who download it expecting it to be free and are left utterly disappointed? In-app purchases will be the death of us all.

It’s great! Fun effects, easy to use. The only thing that got them 3 stars is that they have removed an option to save it on my devise or even share it. You have to pay pro for that. Used to be free. And people get used to free staff

You have to subscribe to use the product but there is no option to unsubscribe, or if there is it is so deeply hidden I cant find it.

I used to love Pixaloop, but the latest update ruined it. Now you can’t even make paths or animate without paying for premium. Completely ruined. Before, it was pretty fun and easy to use. I noticed the app was getting pretty money-hungry recently anyways, taking some things previously free and making them premium-only, but this is too far. C’mon guys. Don’t force your users to pay for things that should be in the basic pack.

Don’t get this app is it a scam waiting to happen! I downloaded the app and to save your video you have to pay for pro which costs more then Disney plus!!!! I tried screen recording but then this annoying blocker came up saying that I must pay. Don’t get it unless you want to pay 12.99 a month

Let me know when your full price gets real. No app is worth $90. Eventually the developer will stop making it compatible with the latest iOS update and your investment becomes locked and non-useable.

I tried to do a sample photo using the basic features and export @1080p but it is still forcing me into a pro subscription. Am I doing something wrong? I’d like to see the finished product before buying a pro subscription. Did I download an app with a pro upgrade or is this a “lite” or “demo” circumstance? Thanks for your help!

I'm confused as to why I can't use any of the non-pro features, when I was able to use them in the beginning. Other comments point to this not being a free app, which, if that's the case, makes sense; what doesn't make sense is why the app, rather than alert me that I need to upgrade, just does nothing. Hence the low rating.

I love the features of this app to make ordinary images come to life -BUT- what they don’t tell you, is that the app is in “sunset” mode and the features are no longer being updated or glitches being fixed. I paid for a subscription and was shocked to discover that not all of the features work. Most irritating though, is that their MotionLeap watermark REMAINS on their videos even with a paid subscription! I’ve gone back and forth with their tech support and was told that the app is no longer being supported, I’m assuming for new subscribers, so the issues won’t be fixed. The lack of transparency is pretty shameful and creates distrust. I hope they either fully commit to their product or be truthful with consumers so we can make an informed decision.

I have the subscription and this app worked great. Then just went to do another edit and 2/3 of edit tool are gone. I tried to remove it and reinstall the app and still same and not only that, lost my edited clips I had in the app. Need to get clips to clients and can’t. Need to get this fixed asap and compensated for this.

It was a lot of fun. I paid for a full year. Now half the effects are unavailable. Reinstalling, logging out and in, restarting device - both iPad and iPhone doesn't work. Seems to be an authentication issue. Please give me back what I paid for.
