Tired of counting trains? Let the Pointsman score your games of Ticket To Ride automatically using nothing more than your iPhone's camera!
The Pointsman is 100% free with absolutely no ads. If you find yourself enjoying the Pointsman and want to support it, please consider leaving a tip via the app.
You can use the Pointsman during normal gameplay to confirm player scores, or just leave the scoring till the end and maximize your enjoyment! The Pointsman will tally up all player routes, route scores, station placements, longest train routes and other game specific bonuses, plus all destination tickets. Everything is presented on a beautiful “score ticket” you can share as a memento of your game.
Pointsman uses ARKit, CoreML and custom machine learning to recognize trains on the game board; training the models to make this possible is specific to each set. As such, the Pointsman currently only works on the following versions of the game:

Known Issues:
1. The Pointsman is not trained to recognize the transparent promotional train sets
2. The Pointsman is not trained to recognize the turquoise variant of the blue trains
For best results, stand in squarely in front of the game board and hold your device at approximately a 45 degree angle to the game board. To confirm that the score is accurate, you can perform the following two checks:
1. For each player the number of unused trains is printed on the score ticket, just confirm the number matches the actual number of unused trains.
2. Every connection for each player is listed on the score ticket, you can manually confirm each connection is accurate.
If the Pointsman does make a mistake, simply tap on the player's score to access the score editing interface to make the necessary corrections.

Trouble recognizing black train cars.This is a fantastic app that does a great job of scoring through the iPhone camera, but it does seem to have trouble accurately scoring the black train cars. I was getting negative points for incomplete tickets, so as a test I replaced all the cars with blue pieces and used the app again, after which it scored correctly. It also occasionally reads printed route colors as train cars, but this happens less often and can be ignored..Version: 1.7
Works pretty good…Once we figured out getting it to read the map it works pretty good. However, it has trouble with the clear purple train cars that were promotional giveaways at some point. It makes a mistake or two here and there that might be manually corrected but the correction screen has a problem. The switches to turn routes on and off are there but the names of the routes themselves are not… makes it kinda hard to figure out which ones to turn on or off. Otherwise it does a fine job of the tedious task of summing up the game..Version: 1.7
Saves so much time!This is a great app for counting scores at the end of the game. Very easy to use! It mostly gets things correct, you just have to quickly double check the routes registered correctly. But more often than not, they are fine. The manual interface is easy to use so you can correct anything that looks off. Only shortcomings I’ve run into so far is that they don’t have the Asia map. Hopefully they add it at some point..Version: 1.7
Quick and accurate scoringAmazingly quick and accurate scoring for Ticket to Ride. Especially useful when you realize you have been forgetting to move the point markers. It does need sufficient light for the camera to get the proper image. We were playing in a dimly light room and it had difficulty, but illuminating it from above with a flashlight took care of it. Overall impressive and handy app if you are a fan of Ticket to Ride..Version: 1.2
Great app but needs a small tweakGreat app. Makes scoring so much easier. One issue I am seeing is not distinguishing between versions of the game. When playing standard game, no expansion, it is scoring as if playing Mega Game from 1910 expansion. (i.e. it included globetrotter and longest train bonus instead of only longest train bonus) Maybe a setting to identify which way you ar playing..Version: 1.7
Love the conceptLove the concept and it has worked flawlessly in the past, but just tonight noticed an incorrect scan of a route card. Tried it multiple times and still fails. In this particular instance, I was trying to scan “San Francisco to Atlanta” (17 pts) but it always scanned as “Los Angeles to Oklahoma City” (9 pts). Tried multiple times, same result. I’ve suggested this apps to friend and now I’m embarrassed to tell them that it doesn’t always work, sorry..Version: 1.7
I gave up on an earlier version, but it’s fixed now!I downloaded the app a few years ago and it didn’t count the routes perfectly each time, so I gave up on the app. But I decided to try it again tonight and it got everything right. Maybe it’s my new phone that makes it work better, but the app works great in any case. Love it..Version: 1.7
Nice once you get the hang of it.First of all, let me just say, kudos to the person that engineered this app. I really enjoy using this app simply for what it does and how cool it is that someone created something that, in my mind, does something so amazing. Great idea, almost great executionI was amazed at the concept this app developer used to count the trains. However it did not quite get the correct score, and when I tried to edit the individual routes, the names of the routes were blank making it impossible. Just a few bugs to fix and this would be a great app!.Version: 1.7
Needs options to turn off expansion pack bonus pointsWe used this to calculate scores, and it did a nice job, but it added 15 points for a Globetrotter bonus that doesn’t exist on the original game. So take that into account if you are using this app without an expansion pack..Version: 1.7
Really helps with quick scoring!Great app!! My only comment is that on newer printings of Ticket to Ride, the game tokens have been made translucent. On occasion the app has trouble discerning that the blue tokens on top of a yellow, or green route are not in fact green tokens..Version: 1.7
Almost perfectThe UI is great. Counts points well. Only issues are reading train stations and that I’m unable to view the editors to fix any errors. Nothing major and I plan on keeping the app. Great jorb!.Version: 1.7

Must.have.app.for.ticket to ride players!!!No need to manually score. Just play the game and at the end, this app will scan the board and calculate everything including who got the longest route. Then, Scan your tickets and you get the final score for the game. Simply awesome. Almost as good as the 7 Wonders App. Only thing missing; this app does not keep stats of every game played for each player..Version: 1.5
