LG XBOOM ~’24 & Selected* Customer Service

Got a PL5 for free with a CX and this app works just fine for everything that it promises to do. Could have more lighting options though. Not sure why all these negative reviews saying it's broken; maybe people aren't connecting through the system-level Bluetooth menu before trying to use the app?

Don’t believe all these negative reviews. This app works for the P7 version of the speaker and I am currently on an Iphone 13. I can use the equalizer and all other settings just fine.

I own an LG XBOOM PL7! And, I love the new UI update just made 2 days ago. It’s so much better and a much cleaner design, the XBOOM Team is doing a really good job making the product on the APP side overall a lot better. The speaker itself is PERFECT!

It does what it needs to. Connects to speaker quickly and can change settings via app.

I had an iPhone 7 Plus and the app stopped working with my PL5(ED) months back. I got a 15 Pro Max and redownloaded the app and everything works again even if the app is pretty bare bones...

Idk if ever one is stupid but the app is basically just a remote for the XBOOM rnc7 and it doesn’t market it to be anything else 😭 great speaker to

It’s stopped turning on my xboom on9 by connecting just with Bluetooth.

Pair the lg ea with iPhone Bluetooth or your preferred device open the app the next time you must power on lg ea speaker select the Blue button listen for connection sound and tada now on iPhone open app select optical or usb or Bluetooth depending which audio output is being used cheers Lg ea speaker creators this is great 👍🏻 speaker 🔈 Every time I power it up and open the app has blank area showing how to connect and at my iPhone 12 promax settings Bluetooth I click the lg**** speaker and won’t connect says forget Bluetooth device I have to keep re-repairing 🖍🗒📡🛠⚙️🔊🔉🔈📝🦠🛠📡📲🤷👀🔊🔉🔈🛠📡👀📲🦠☕️

I just bought two Bluetooth speakers from LG the bigs ones they have !! They were worked great till I updated Now the app doesn’t work on both!! 70lbs paper weights

This app has literally removed rather than added speaker functionality, the app originally paired with my LG GP3 bluetooth speaker and allowed for changing of the LED color displayed, changing the input/connection type used (which is critical for connecting wired to a ps4 which I often did) and even allowed a master volume control that allowed a better control of volume than setting volume ok connected devices. However, with a recent update every time I now open the app I am told the app is no longer compatible with my speaker. This means all those features above are completely locked away and my speaker was set to a low master volume in the app meaning it is essentially useless as I can no longer adjust that volume, or any of the above settings, without the app. Thanks LG, for making and ruining a great product!!! :)

Speaker associated with app is amazing but with the app you can’t play directly from your iOS playlist, you have to create new playlists within the app. The worst part is, other things you would expect to use like teams, zoom, monitoring a phone meeting and other resources have no way of playing or monitoring. All of that is a deal breaker for me. If it had those simple capabilities I would rate the app at 4 or 5 stars. While I love the sound of the associated speakers I’m likely going to return this because of the shortcomings of the app.

Why does this app support the XL7 but not the XL7s? Downloaded the app and went to connect it recognized my XL7s showed up and showed the device and battery level and I updated the speaker and now it won’t recognize it which is irritating. I would like to adjust the lighting through the app especially the pixel display and maybe the music settings. 500$ for a speaker and I was going to use it specifically for the app utilization. 10/10 on the speaker audio 1/10 for LG not recognizing my model for the app.

I have the LG XBOOM GO w/ Meridian sounds fantastic. The app allows access to customize your sound if you want via equalizer and can can change the color scheme of the LED lights along with how the lights blink with the music. However, you really don't need it all. You can turn off and on their "Sound Boost"physically on the speaker which actually is a nice custom sound that helped everything pop quite a bit.

How can you sell such an amazing speaker but can’t fix an app, it’s been over a year and i still can’t connect my iPhone to the speaker using this app, how am i supposed to update my speakers software if i can’t connect it to the app, I’m a huge LG fan so I’m extremely disappointed and disgusted with the disservice we the customers are getting with this app and noone on the other side seems to care, save your money and buy a Sony or JBL instead they don’t have these simple to fix issues and don’t ignore it.

Got a XBOOM pk7 downloaded this app and nothin It won’t pickup the speaker at all first I thought maybe the speaker was defective but I tried it on my friends cheesy 60 dollar phone and it worked fine he also has a pk5 that works no problem so I tried his pk5 on my phone still nothing how is it working on his cheap phone and not my 7plus??? Very very frustrating On a side note it seems you DEVELOPERS don’t care this app is as low as it can be rated it seems you don’t wanna do your job a deliver a working app STEP IT UP

This app doesn’t do anything. It loads up and does nothing. It doesn’t pick up any of my music. I have Apple Music and it’s supposedly suppose to work with it but it doesn’t. It doesn’t see anything or do anything. There’s really nothing else to say other than to don’t bother wasting your time on this app. The most useless app in the Apple App Store. Apple should remove it from their store as it’s an embarrassment to Apple.

It is a great idea for an app but it will not let me connect my lg pk7 to the app and I have read in other reviews that people are having the same issues and I believe that it is because we have i phones and it is not designed to work with iPhones. I would love if you guys aka the developers could fix this.

Before the update a few months ago, I would have given this 4 or 5 stars - the update made it very difficult to connect the speakers to my IPhone 14 and 16. One speaker takes about 3-4 tries to connect, the other about 8-10 times to connect. So infuriating I’m thinking about dumping and buying Sony or something compatible. I would not recommend the purchase just for the connection issues.

So I ran into a problem when opening the lg XBOOM app. An I figured I’ll just delete the app, an redownload it. Well the app never fully worked properly again it got me to the main screen, and when I click anything it just shows its loading. The circular rotating bar for long periods. It never gets me to what I wanna do in the app. Was great the first month a then it just crashed.. 2 thumbs down

I disconnected my device from the speaker, but even after 30 minutes, it still didn’t turn off. This suggests the power management feature isn’t working as it should. Hopefully, a future update will fix this.

I have a LG-PL2 which the app worked fine on until 7 months ago. The app updated and now my speaker is not supported. Come on LG you must do a better job than this. I will not buy another LG speaker because I don’t trust them to not do the same thing again with other products. I bought my speaker new 18 months before it stopped working with the app.

I just bought an XBOOM Go and it doesn’t connect to the iOS app at all. I used my mothers Samsung and it worked first try. It’s obvious that LG is neglecting its iOS customer base. The speaker is amazing but I’m considering returning it due to the lack of functionality without the app. I can’t tune the EQ, edit the light settings, or see the battery percentage without it. Get it together LG.

What is the point of this “app?” There’s nothing there and it won’t connect to the device, even though my iPhone 12 Pro Max connects to it. I tried several different ways, to no avail. Ridiculous! Thank goodness the speaker works great, I just wanted to see what other features the app might have, like Sonos gives you. I guess LG doesn’t want to play with the big boys...

After updating the app & the speakers the app no longer has the party link feature & some other features have disappeared from the app also. LG you guys need to fix these bugs or improve this app after the update the app has become useless

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing problems connecting to their iPhone 15 and above, I’ve been using for awhile, my ( LG with MERIDIAN Technology) ( 8L1Xoo4X ) for years and just went to link to my app and got a message saying it’s not supported. Has anyone found a fix to this? Thanks

I got this app with the intent to update the firmware on my pk7 speaker. Even with the current software update to the app, it still won't recognize that the device is connected, rendering it completely useless. Apparently this has been an on going issue for months now, please fix this.

This app is a perfect example of people NOT caring. It just doesn’t work, plain and simple. Even when connected to my phone itself it shows as disconnected in the app. I’ve had bad apps before but never one that just didn’t do anything but take space. I give it -10 stars

I bought two LG XBOOM 360 speakers and I can’t have both of them play music because there is no way to connect them on the app. I called LG multiple times and they told me it’s best to wait for an update…so I spent 400 dollars on speakers to wait for an app update. The worst customer service.

Today had an update and it says minor bugs fixed but still doesn’t connects to the speakers to be able to update the firmware. Why did you make the app available for IOS if doesn’t work at all? What kind of bugs you think you are fixing here?

So the PK7 worked great with the app when I had a Samsung phone. Now I have an iPhone and it won’t work, which means it’s worthless. I’ve bought a product from you that I can no longer actually use effectively. Thanks for that.

I have a Bluetooth speaker (LG XBOOM PN7) however it can't not connect with this app while it still play music. The app give me a notification "There is an issue with LG-PN7 - This device is not supported this app". I don't know how and I need a fixed version for this issue.

Paid $460 for this LG speaker and this app won’t even pair with the speaker on my iPhone or iPad. I can only connect the Bluetooth which only let me get up to 25 out of 40 in volume and I can adjust EQ and other settings on the speaker. Waist of money. Will never buy LG again.

This app is useless. Does not function properly at all. I have my speaker rouse for parties but when the app doesn’t work I can’t change the banner scrolling and cat getting the eq for balancing sound. Very frustrating.

The app is limited it doesn’t allow you to sample. That’s a big problem . Please fix it and update app .

At some point I thought the speaker was bad,is buffering looking to connect,and say!!, no device connection or XBOOM no connect or pairing problem,all the rest work,bad app,only works the first time i bring speaker

The app offers nice features but after one day with the app the next day it doesn’t support my speaker and will not connect with it. No way for me to troubleshoot why so I will have to use without the app

I get an error connecting with the app although Bluetooth is connected and plays music. I have no functionality that I used to have such as adjusting sound eq, lighting etc. Please update a patch

*** Only gave it one star because I had to. Just purchased a new stereo system and of course bought an LG sadly though that was my biggest mistake and of course once again another product of theirs does not work like it is suppose to.

Shame on Apple for approving this app to be in the store. They have not allowed much more finished apps in the App Store due to “bugs.” Not sure how this is kept on the store due to it not even recognizing that you are connected to your speaker. Shame on LG, shame on Apple.

I wish they have a turn on the speaker in the app so they can connect or something so that my IPhone can connect with the speaker again

The app doesn’t work even though my phone connects just fine with the pk7. I can play music but the app just says disconnected. Tried with my iPad too. LG, this should be compatible with Apple products!

The app was working normally, but suddenly a message started appearing saying that my device (RP4-A7) is not supported by the app, even though I've been using the app for over a year.

... and therefore no access to the tools to power up, control EQ, LED lights, etc. I tried reloading the app, forgetting the device, everything. It simply does not recognize the PK 7! LG, get your act together! This should just work.

Says my speaker isn’t supported even though the model is clearly listen as supported in app description and the app is on the box so I know it should have this app

There is no light adjustment or settings icon at all in my app which I just downloaded today.

So like pretty much all of LG products and software this app is a failure. Useless waste of space of apple App Store. Lg just remove your junk from the markets and let the real companies have the space.

Like everyone else says... speaker is connected to my phone but the app only reads “disconnected” no matter what I try. Will be wary of purchasing from LG again.

This app is very disappointing, you can only with Apple Music. Does not allow you to sync your music from other media players.

Yeah this may have worked once upon a time. But now it’s got both grammar and software errors.

The app worked for one week. It was great! Today it won’t connect to the device and says the device does not support the app. Hopefully this is resolved because I was loving the dj function

Why would you put down it has the capability of connecting with your app, yet it doesn't even support the device. Their top of the line speaker doesn’t work with their speaker app? Hopefully a lawsuit or something comes out against LG.

Despite saying so on the Box and the LG product page for the XBoom Go PL2, the app does not actually support it. When you launch the app you will receive the following message “There is an issue with LG-PL2(C2). This device is not supported on this app.” If you are considering purchasing an LG product, do not, as it is possible - and in my case with the LG Jellybean PL2, you will not be able to enjoy the full capabilities of your speaker. TLDR; App is worthless as it doesn’t support the products it says it will.

I recently purchased the LG PL2 mini speaker and was excited to use it with the LG XBOOM app, as advertised. However, when I tried connecting the speaker, the app displayed the message: "There is an issue with LG-PL2(DB). This device is not supported in this app." This is extremely disappointing because the app was one of the selling points for the speaker, offering features like battery monitoring and sound customization. It’s frustrating that the app doesn’t support this specific model despite it being part of LG's current lineup. Additionally, there are a couple of design flaws. First, the speaker itself provides very poor indication of when it is fully charged—this could be easily improved with clearer LED feedback such as flashing lights or change of LED colour. Second, the base of the speaker is very small, making it unstable and prone to tipping over, especially on uneven surfaces. While the sound quality and portability are decent, these issues detract significantly from the overall user experience. LG should clarify app compatibility, improve charging indicators, and redesign the base for better stability. I hope LG addresses these concerns in future updates or models to avoid further customer frustration.

LG Box says download XBOOM software for Jellybean but as soon as you open the app the program says this device is not supported. The device it self even says XBOOM on it. Fix your product or don’t mislead consumers.

Dose not work with the LG jelly bean although it advertised on the box as being compatible with this app.

The speaker says on the packaging that it works with the XBoom app, but no little asterisk or anything says otherwise. So imagine my disappointment seeing my speaker wasn’t supported when the packaging advertised it as compatible with Jellybean Go PL2. It would be fine if there were some warning instead of pretending it is compatible.

My Speaker LG-PL2 doesn’t connect with the app. Maybe this version is not compatible with the app. Very disappointed.

“There is an issue with LG-PL2. This device is not supported this App”. The packaging sure makes it look like it does. Absolute garbage. Returned back to the retailer.

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max, the speaker is connected via Bluetooth however the app doesn’t recognize the speaker… it doesn’t appear in the app (pk7 XBOOM) Tried with a google pixel and works perfectly.

The app says speaker disconnected (PK5) but allows to control playback volume. No other co trolls work. Useless
