I bought an LG BP175 wired Blueray player. It’s installed in a closet, so the remote can’t be used. Before installing this App on my iPhone X I read the reviews. What I can tell you is that the reviews with 1 Star are nonsense. Not accurate. They are apparently written by people who just have to say something when they can’t figure out how to make things work. The App works great. You can even turn your unit on & off from the App. This is something other Blueray players can’t do because the network connection is not present when a unit is off. Not so with the LG Blueray I purchased. You can also setup all your third party Apps that play through a Blueray. I would recommend trying this App if you have an LG Blueray player. Don’t bother reading all the reviews from people who shouldn’t be writing them.
I downloaded the app, opened it, clicked on the identified blue ray player and was connected IMMEDIATELY! And the app controls are far easier to read than the physical remote. Highly satisfied.
New iOS notes in settings that the app might slow down the system. Otherwise it's just fine.
That's one of the reasons we bought this tv. Boooooo
Work so good

I got it working, and it's alright. My 5 year old son got mad and broke the original remote, so this is better than nothing.
You apparently need to install this so you can use the other app for your LG player. It's alright just a little inconvenient
Good like 💻
- this app sh.ood have more better Reviewz+Ratingz 4sure
LG AV Remote Negative Reviews and Ratings
The audio doesn’t match up and the app crashes very often! PLEASE FIX THIS!!!
If they added where you can type on ur phone instead of clicking the letters on by one with the arrows the app would have a 4 star rating but other than that I’ve had no problem
They need to add a bit where you can type on your phone. Also, the app is really slow? And it looks like it hasn’t been updated since the iphone3 was a big deal.
I’ve used this app with another Blu-ray player and it was great, but I wanted 4K support so changed the player to a UBK90. It doesn’t work even though it has wireless and that the app says that is a requirement. Worse though is when I try to get LG to help, their support insists it is not an LG app! They will not help at all!
Needs to be updated. Also crashes after switching between other applications. Does not work on iPad. Also out of date.
Please update avc2 to iOS 11 compatible.
This app will not connect to my lg surround sound system(model BH6730). The manual says that it has this feature. Both my phone and HTS are on the same WiFi.
How do you manage to spend all this effort to write an app that works worse than the physical remote that came with the TV?
I downloaded this app because it said it would connect to my sound bar. It didn’t/wouldn’t.
The terms of service come through as a white box so you don’t know what you are agreeing to.
Needs to be updated to iOS 11. This app used to work great but without an update it will no longer launch. Please update!
I had been using this app for my LG Blu-Ray player and it has stopped working due to iOS updates. Can LG update this app to work with iOS 12?
I’ve had this app for almost a year and never have been able to use it.
My phone won’t connect, I’ve tried everything. Complete crap. Save yourself the aggravation & don’t buy LG or their apps
Can we add a keyboard to the remote so login and search purposes?
Can't even find my TV. Both the iPhone and the TV are connected to the same network. Sad.
Takes you back to the App Store every time you try to use a device.
I got the app to work 2 times. Now crashes and won't open.
My app will not connect to the blue ray it just bought even though it prompts me to. Please look at.
Won’t work with anything LG I have. I had high hopes for this app, yet it’s worthless.
Installation was easy. The remote control function worked well on an iPhone 5 controlling an LG BD-540 Blu ray player, but completely drained the iPhone battery in just 2 hours. The phone becomes hot when this Ap is in use, or even suspended. You must completely close the Ap to stop the massive power consumption. The "private mode" function is OK fir music, but not for video, because the sound as heard on the iPhone is not synchronized to the video track.
Poor quality Korean cheezy product, again!!!!
Can’t open and close the disc tray with this app.
Did not find blue ray on my network, br was hard wired to network. Found no add’l app to download to connect
Running LG OLED C7p And LG up970 App says no device detected. All are connected to same network.
I want a refund
Great idea however, falls short. Audio doesn't match and when my phones screen turns off or I need to go to another app the audio stops.
Really?! LG offers a feature that sounds cool, but then let's the consumer down because they cannot get the feature to work. The app won't even read the equipment even though the app is a feature they promote. Surprised that LG does not value their customers enough to fix whatever issues everyone seems to have. I should have gone Samsung.
After installing and uninstalling this app and making sure that my lgbp530 was connected to the network. This remote still won't connect to my device. Even when its on. I usually have good things to say about lg. But this remote doesn't work right.
This app is not compatible with LG BP620. The app that is, is LG AV Remote 2.
I bought the LG blu-ray specifically because of the private sound mode in this app. Since the app doesn't work, I regret being stuck with LG - I would have gone with Samsung to match my TV if I had known.
Seems to be an issue with the app. The app launches and the tv launches the pairing key, but the app says that it cannot find an LG device. Bummer.
App crashes, won't stay open. Major disappointment.
If and when I do get an actual successful connection, there is a delay in audio. It's like I'm watching voiced over Kung fu flicks. Fix it.
Just purchased LG BPM55. Hooked it up directly into my cable modem. Downloaded this app and it doesn't find the blu-ray player.
Does not recognize my connected LG device. Complete waste of time. Don't even bother.
Crashes every time I open the app
Please fix this app
Does not connect to my lg la6200 tv.
Never connects to bpm34 blu-Ray player
I was able to use it once. Now it won’t connect to the dvd player. All connections are fine. I was hoping to use this as backup because the remote control is a piece of garbage as well.
I can’t get the app to sync up. In short, it doesn’t allow me to stream internet content, YouTube or Netflix.
Please update won’t work with the new apple update it says you must update it
It won’t even connect to my LG blu-ray player!
What happened to the private sound option?
It wouldn’t connect to my tv no matter how hard I tried… hope this doesn’t happen with other people!
LG should remove this app from the App Store until they update it
It used to have a trackpad feature with which you could use your phone as a mouse for clicking options in the menu. The feature is gone in the latest release! Now i have to click through menues using remote control which is very tiring
Please update to support iOS 11!
This app works for me but it has a slow connection with the blu-ray player. Also no Qwerty keyboard is a big drawback for searching content.
The speakers and blueray player were easy to set up and sound great. However, I purchased the system for the private listening option and it only works intermittently. Private listening cuts out indicating another iPhone is using the connection. I do not have any other devices with lg app on them.
It didn't find any of my LG devices...did this app work for anyone?
Works good for all my LG Blu-ray player remote control commands. Private Sound mode only works with the app running in the foreground! As soon as you try to swap to another app - the sound will cut out, which is bad because many users like checking their e-mail, surfing the web or using another app while watching a disc. Next version it would be good if LG could fix this.
Would be nice if you could access a keyboard for passwords and searching titles etc.
I downloaded this app to try it with my smart home theatre system (mainly in the hopes of a keyboard functionality) but it doesn't seem to work. It searches for the device and apparently finds it but when I try to select it, the App Store tries to open but only shows a blank window. Has anyone had success with this?
Cannot find my device.
