When an app is this lowly rated, I was concerned I might be downloading a scam or broken mess. I wanted a way to turn off the display of ARC, which seemed to always be on, and I thought there had to be something else useful given the remote settings button is terrible. I was able to download the latest software updates, change some sound settings, and changed the display to auto-off. So much better than I expected given the low rating, but I’m glad I used it and made those changes. Feel free to use this review because it’s insane how many bad reviews the app has given it does everything I could have asked for.
Not sure why all the bad reviews? Unless the issues were fixed recently. I used to have the old LG Wi-Fi sound bar app and it was discontinued. Installed this today and I had no issues connecting my sound bar. Yes you have to connect to sound bars Wi-Fi when first trying to connect to app, but after that you get connected right back to your home Wi-Fi. So not sure why some people keep saying you have to stay connected to sound bar Wi-Fi to use app to control bar or change settings. Haven’t lost connection with the sound bar yet. Everything works fine.
This app must been bad a launch not now this app is amazing I been trying to up my bass and I did it thanks to this app I could adjust my speaker and woofer to how I want it also quick tip after your done the sound bar may not play on your tv turn off your tv and the soundbar and then the TV only and it should be like normal and with the new settings installed YOUR WELCOME
Very useful app that lets you change modes, settings, updates, etc. on your soundbar. So far I have been able to use the app with ease. Once you connect your phone to the soundbar via Bluetooth, you’re good to go. For reference, I have my bar connected to my TV via HDMIarc, which from what I understand it’s the preferred method.
I just set it up & everything works perfectly fine. I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews or comments about having to switch back & forth between networks. I plugged it in, fired up the app which asked me for my network password. Entered that and began enjoying surround sound. Great product & nice app.

I use this app so much that I added it to my home bar. And as a software developer, I have no complaints and I find it well functioned, intuitive, and problem free. I mainly use it in e-arc mode connected to an LG OLED which is connected to an Apple TV. I often change listening modes and channel levels depending on the content and the time of day. I suppose this is a case where only people with issues bother to review the app. But even with constant use I love it and have had no problems. My only wish is to be able to adjust each channel's volume more than +-6db's, but this is probably a hardware limitation.
There seems to be a glitch with the "Multi-channel experience" slider option in Cinema Mode. I currently have the "LG S95QR" and it seems that the sliders are reversed because when I turn off the slider it has the surround effect that it's supposed to have when it on and when I turn it on it disables the surround effect
Despite comments from others this app automatically and immediately found my SK10Y sound bar. It seems to have all the necessary features and worked well to the extent used. The only detractors to me is the lengthy terms you have to agree to, and the fact that a huge company like LG can’t provide an iPad version of this app. That’s so 15 years ago.
So yeah this version has same functions but mine connected right away and the bars don’t drop from app like they use too. Yeah some people may not be happy but with this being a re- design and new bars and firmware updates coming out I am sure this app will be updated as well.
I am not going to lie, looking at these reviews had me extremely worried. I thought I was going to have to return this soundbar due to terrible app support. Thankfully that wasn’t the case. Had zero issues connecting to and setting up my S80QY soundbar. Good luck everybody else.
The app and speakers work fine. I only wish I had more control over all sound aspects. I am limited by what the app has to offer but would be great if I could control how much pan I want on L/R sound.
I’ve just connected my SPD7Y for the first time and it works pretty well. One thing this app needs is the ability to further dim or turn off the display on the sound bar. Display is still a bit bright and that option would be great
Just bought the SP8YA and connected to the app in a few minutes. Makes it easy to change the settings on the sound bar.
Have LG Atmos soundbar and woofer. Would randomly drop sound and BT connect to unknown neighbor device. App fixed this issue and updated soundbar. Works better than it ever has now. Negative reviews are probably from stupid idiots. Merry Christmas.
No idea why people give such bad reviews. Sometimes soundbar disconnects and takes s few attempts to reconnect but otherwise it’s great.
The app works fine people just like complaining
I am glad LG designed this app. It allows me to customize and test things on my sound bar. I’m using an iPhone 14pro. Not sure about the bad reviews but I have had no issues
This app work great I don’t know why people crying
J’aime bien l’app.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I have just download the app and it’s looking good. I have auto calibration which made the soundbar really good.
LG Soundbar Negative Reviews and Ratings
How to get this LG Soundbar to even work. LG has poor micro instructions. First unpack everything. The Soundbar must be plugged in to outlet. And you use the optical wire to plug from Soundbar to TV. Plug in Subwoofer. The receiver or other black box plug in. Two little speakers HAVE to be wired into back of receiver. The two 10 foot wires are either BLUE or GREY. They are split on each end. Tricky part. One of the split wires has a black thread running through split.. Other side of split is clear. The black thread split goes into black Jack on receiver or -. Then the Soundbar & speakers should work. The remote has a lower left triple circle button to adjust the Speakers. The little wired ones are just R or rear so they adjust together as one. As far as app is concerned I haven’t figured out if it’s a scam app or what. But you don’t need it .. you can make all adjustments on remote..
Let me start by saying I have two WiFi networks and both are Netgear Orbi and I have an LG TV with eArc. The Orbi routers are notoriously funky when connecting IOT devices like Roomba and The sound bar. Also for this de wondering if your sound bar has buttons for WiFi, etc, look VERY closely at the top of the sound bar as there are no actual tactile buttons on my S95QR, but if you shine a flashlight there are indeed a row of buttons across the top! They look like the icons more than buttons but you can press them. I went through the setup process with the app and indeed it failed but if you try against and eventually get to the point where you connect directly to the speakers WiFi when prompted it appears to fail again. But I then killed the app, and went back to my internal WiFi network, and then back to the app where I could see it had a sound bar in its connection list but it complained again it couldn’t connect to it. Powered up the sound bar with the remote and the app connected to the item in the app’s list of sound bars and was working without connecting directly to the sound bar WiFi. So several things going on. First the app says it fails to connect using the typical method staring with your network then it has you connect manually to the sound bar then it seems to power off the sound bar so you have to manually restart the app and power up the sound bar to select it. Holy moly, grandma would never figure that out and I’m a software developer and went through several iterations. My guess is if you don’t have a finicky router you may be in luck. LG go get a Netgear Orbi and test with it; if you can pass that test you likely can connect to any network. Once the app is connected it works just fine.
Let me just start off by saying that the execution of an intuitive setup is terrible and has failed miserably. After sever hours I finally figured out that in order to connect you need to connect to the sound bar as a wi-if network. For instance, on IOS, go to settings> wi-fi> then select the soundbar as the actual network. Once you do this, you can use the app to connect and adjust settings. I lose access to the internet by doing this, and I am sure there is a way to maybe setup as air play or something but haven’t figured that part out yet. I just switch back and forth as needed. I hope they improve this app soon, but looking at how long this has been an issue, I highly doubt it.
I just got the LG S90QY, which this app supports. Setup went fine, if a bit clunky. Options are sparse - but the soundbar is fairly simple so this makes sense. One huge missing feature is the status of signal information. The app will tell you when it’s getting atmos, presumably when it’s getting dts as well - though my source (Apple TV 4k) isn’t setup to send that. What it doesn’t tell you is anything regarding the channels when LPCM is sent. It just says PCM. It would be super helpful for the app or the bar to report if that PCM signal is 2.1, 5.1 or 7.1. This is frustrating especially when setting up as you want to make sure things are working the way you expect and as far as I can tell there’s no good way to do that.
This app is minimum effort garbage that may work for you if you are lucky. For context, I'm trying to use it to configure an SP9YA soundbar. To be clear, my desired result of using this app is to have the bar connected to my wifi so that I can use it as an AirPlay speaker or whatever. The app doesn't let you do much configuration that you can't do with the bar's remote, and the stuff unique to the app seems of marginal benefit (at best) anyway. So what's the problem? Well, the process of booting up the app, connecting to the bar via Bluetooth, and getting it to connect to your wifi is poorly documented, poorly presented in the UI, and *incredibly* flaky. The first time I tried, it took ~5 tries and then worked for no apparent reason; then my cat somehow managed to factory reset the bar by walking over the buttons and then it took me ~10 tries to get it to connect again. There was no discernible difference between these attempts, and it's clear that the bar has no fundamental issue with being connected to my wifi, so what's the problem? Well, that's something only LG can figure out, and they obviously don't care. Seriously, it's bad. Steer clear unless you *really* want to be able to AirPlay to your LG soundbar. And if you proceed past this point, may God have mercy on your soul.
This app is junk. I mean come on, LG is a huge established company. They should be able to hire competent developers that can create an app that works especially when it’s an intrgual part of the experience of the device. I’m supposed to use the app to connect my LG SP8YA sound bar to my home wifi. I can find sound bar with the app but when I try to connect it to my wifi it simply won’t work. I’ve tried using on iOS 14 and iOS 15 on 3 different devices and it just doesn’t work. I also tried on two different routers, 2.4 and 5 ghz and nothing. The app can’t get the sound bar to connect. This sound bar is expensive, it work with Alexia, Google, and Airplay 2. None of witch works if it can’t connect to wifi. Also, LG’s customer service is joke, the first rep I spoke to did t even know how AirPlay works.
This app forces you to the ThinQ app, which doesn’t let you specify WPA2 security. It won’t connect to WiFi router unless I lower security setting to WPA. My LG G4 OLED wont register with the S95TR soundbar since latest update. This makes it impossible to use the built in wireless WOWCast feature. I’m regretting buying the S95TR. Note: I was able to set the WiFi password and security by using my iPhone WiFi settings after putting the soundbar into WiFi setup mode by pressing the soundbar WiFi. Button until it blinked three white leds. Then I used the iPhone to enter the password. The ThinQ app needs fixing to allow this or the instructions should explain the alternate method which I actually found in an internet search.
I've tried to use the Room Calibration feature numerous times and it always fails. It says my subwoofer needs to be near my soundbar. It's maybe 4ft away on the floor. When I first bought my soundbar it ran fine. Then almost a year into owning it, the subwoofer wouldn't connect so I sent it into LG for service. They sent it back and Room Calibration hasn't worked since. I've factory reset my soundbar and have re-paired the subwoofer. It connects and works fine and has a solid green light and even makes noises when the calibration is running, but the app ALWAYS says it's failed because of the subwoofer. Contacted LG about the issue and they told me I'd have to pay for a repair even though both devices are working fine and it only stopped being able to calibrate AFTER they sent the unit back.
So I paid like $800 for this system to use with my LG TV, both of which are advertised as having WOWCAST. speakers have connected to WIFI perfectly fine. TV is also connected to WiFi. Yet for some reason the TV cannot connect to the speaker. It doesn’t see it. No instructions through the app or anywhere else. I’ve also tried using the AI room calibration and it’s failed every time. This app is almost useless. For $800, I really expected more. Or at least for the thing to work as advertised. Last time I buy from LG.
I will be returning my new LG soundbar because of how useless this app is. I have a Bose soundbar and went through all of the steps to connect to the app. I did it once and have never had to do it again. I decided to go with LG for another room since it’s slightly cheaper. The app is fine when you’re connected, but I have to set it up *every* time I turn off my TV and come back. It is very annoying! I also don’t like that I need two different apps for music and soundbar settings. I can do all in one through Bose. The music app won’t work for my soundbar. Through tricky wording, the soundbar is advertised as wireless, but it really isn’t. I can’t connect my music through the app. Returning my soundbar for something with a working app.
I can’t believe how incompetent this app is! I have the latest LG soundbar “LG SN11 something” and from the start it asks if the soundbar has a Wi-Fi button, it does not. Asks if it has a Bluetooth button it does not, and it asks if it has a Google button in which I do not want to connect with for reasons that will make this comment too long. I worked around it and went to my phones Bluetooth and found the speaker there and connected but the app tells you to return and continue to work and does absolutely nothing. It stinks because with the previous version I was at least able to customize sound settings for the back and front speakers and this cannot be controlled through the remote. LG, I’m very surprised! Do better!
At the time I’m wanting this the app has a 1.6 star review. Like nearly every other person has started I can’t get the app to connect to the speaker. My phone is connected via Bluetooth and plays music just fine. The app asks to connect via WiFi then while searching asks to connect to Bluetooth ( even though I’m already connect). I’ve had it twice actually start to connect to WiFi asking for my password and the speaker actually says connected, but nothing from the app. Then it starts over again repeatedly asking me to connect to Bluetooth ( again even though it already is). Seems like this has been an issue for a while with no fix in site. Come on LG app developers!
I’m relatively new to all this new digital technology, arc Dolby, Atmos, etc. but I do know that I just shelled out over $4000 for a new LG TV and a new LG Sound Bar. The sound bar has been nothing but problems since day one losing connection frequently, confusing to operate and not reliable. The app is buggy and that’s being kind. A complete confusing mess. Highly recommend trying to return your sound bar. If you can. I am unfortunately stuck with it pounding my head against the wall figuring out what’s going on… run don’t walk from this sound bar, let alone this sad excuse for an app that you literally need to make the sound bar work for the brief time that it does.
Have the sp9ya LG soundbar. LG decided it was wise to not have features on the remote for a $1000 sound bar. Can’t turn on and off night mode easily or DRC. Have no choice but to use this app. After 24 hours, it disconnects from my network and I have to waste 20 minutes of my life to reset the whole sound bar and reconnect the app to sound bar. If I’d known this app was needed for the features of my sound bar and that the app was extremely unreliable, I would have never purchased this LG sound bar. It’s a shame, because it sounds great and is a good match with my LG Oled. Get it fixed LG or, let me return your soundbar for another brand that has a full remote. Very unsatisfied…..
Purchased an LG SL8YG Dolby atmos soundbar a while back and the app was already a huge headache, got it to work without using to a soundbar but I purchased the rear speakers yesterday which had its own connect box unit and connecting it was a nightmare as well, couldn’t even sync it let alone test out the rear speakers or customize the sound. I think I’m getting rid of the whole thing and going Sony or Samsung next. I’ll do my research to make sure they actually get some good engineers that can create a functioning app, Unlike this trash which I don’t understand why there’s a thinQ app for appliances and the tv but a completely SEPARATE app for the soundbars that don’t even work to begin with.
The sound bar I bough SP8YN was an upgrade from the previous 3 year old model LG sound bar I had. Got WI-FI hopping the Atmos would be great. However the tuning feature won’t work because WI-FI like everyone else won’t connect to the app. I’ve tried everything. Only thing that works is to connect directly to the Wi-Fi from the settings in your phone. The app will NOT connect no matter what I do. This causes you to lose all internet functions on your phone since obviously the Wi-Fi on the sound bar is not connected to the internet. Disappointing especially considering LG is a top tier electronics manufacturer. DONT get a LG sound bar if you want any internet connected functions.
LG 55 QLED and LG sound bar SP8Y only 3 months old (both) - tv cannot even start sound bar from HDMI ARC port 10% of the time. Terrible much more to say… I’ve tried everything and even when it comes on with the tv the sound gets out of sync all the time the longer I use it.. so it seems like a piece a junk technology in one or the other devices … or both. I changed out two older Samsung and Onyko receiver devices that would not start up together … thought using the same company and a simpler direct connection would surely fix it… WRONG $3500+ waste of time and money… still same issues. Not recommended.
The LG soundbar remote app is okay overall. It’s pretty nice that it allows you to control all the functions of the speaker directly from your phone, which makes for a more seamless experience. However, one drawback is that the app disconnects every time the TV turns off, which can be quite annoying. The workaround is to refresh the app and manually reconnect the TV to the soundbar, but it would be better if this issue didn’t happen in the first place.
After waiting and waiting for an updated sound bar app so I did not have to rely on Google assistant to check for firmware or to setup from scratch, this all arrived but always defaults to my other LgSk6 that is in the game room instead of my main and newest sound bar in the den, the Sn10Yg. Why can’t I set a primary startup sound bar and it retain it. Multiple steps to just adjust volume…
First the app asks if you have a WiFi sound bar. I tap no. Then it asks if there's google assistant. I tap no. Then it says searching, and asks to press the Bluetooth button. I press F once to put it into Bluetooth mode. It says to connect using settings then come back to the app. I go to settings and find sn6y and connect to it, so the sound bar is clearly advertising itself. I return to the app... nothing. I have tried even with my phone connected beforehand. This app is terrible, it won't even connect to let me change settings. How was this ever released to App Store?
I like the app much better than the old one. However, still no instructions on how to use “Sound Diagnosis” on the app. All it does is switch input to Wi-Fi and sets everything at 0. You have the option to click a button that says “Listening to sound” but all it does it play one beep from the sound bar. Nothing happens no matter how many times you press or hold button. No information on google as well.
Title says it all. I have 2 LG soundbars in the house, SP9YA and a S65Q. The app sees both soundbars in setup but I am trying to install the S65Q in the app, follow the appropriate steps (which are horribly translated into proper English) and it always automatically connects to the former instead of the latter. And what's worse is I CANNOT DELETE the SP9YA from the app at all! And why ask if it has wifi and you answer no but still needs a wifi connection for a BT bar connection? Absolutely garbage if your app doesn't have basic functionality like removing soundbars from the app.
Just bought a new LG SN6Y sound bar subwoofer setup and upon finding there was a companion app I wanted to see what all you could do with the new tech I had purchased but the app is entirely unusable, no matter what I’ve done I can’t get the sound bar to connect or honestly even appear during the pairing process. I’m using a 12 Pro Max so I would like to say it may be on that end but I would certainly hope not. Would be inclined to change my rating if I could actually hear back from support about fixing my issue. The hardware rocks tho
I received the S90QY in June of 2022 and was able to successfully connect app to my network and was able to use app to adjust my sound at settings perfectly. Even if I lost connection, I reset the Wi-Fi sound-bar and reconnected on my network and everything worked perfectly. BUT after latest update I cannot connect the app and sound-bar anymore!!! I had no problems connecting unit to network. But now I cannot do it anymore. Please fix this!!!
I have a LG Soundbar that I can find and connect to via the LG Soundbar app. It will not allow me to complete the set up unless I register with Google Home, which I do and the device is present.. still no connection accepted. If I fully reset the sound bar (now I must reset my EQ/tv settings) it MIGHT work. Even then it periodical disconnects and the whole process resets. I absolutely hate the Google home integration. Everything registers except for this hand off that is required to use the app. Just terrible.
When trying to connect the app to an LG SC9S soundbar, the location permission is actually required. It states that it needs it for wifi information but I cannot imagine why just connecting to local network is not sufficient. As a result, this app is useless without giving them both local network access and location information, which I presume the app will then upload to LG’s servers. This app should be pulled from the App Store for misleading description.
Whenever my phone disconnects the Bluetooth connection to the sound bar (out of range or timeout) the app no longer can access sound bar features. When I reconnect in iPhone settings Bluetooth to the sound bar, the previously set sound out to HDMI ARC on my LG TV switches to internal speaker. Developers, please stop this behavior
This app works 1/10 times. 9 out of 10 times that you open the app on any given day, it will NOT recognize your previously connected sound bar. Then 2 days later with the exact same settings (wifi same network and Bluetooth on) you can get the magical 1 in 10 where it fully functions and you can change settings. There really isn’t a rhyme or reason to it besides that most of the time it just doesn’t work at all.
I’ve been using this app with first my LG SP9YA for almost a year, then months with my LG S95QR. All of a sudden, I can’t connect or do anything with my soundbar because the app will not stay connected. I’ve deleted and redownload the app several times, hard reset the soundbar as well. It seemed to coincide with an update that LG pushed through the app for the soundbar.
So, it worked for a while. Guess the app updated and now it won’t connect at all. Can still connect phone via Bluetooth and play music but the app itself doesn’t recognize the sound bar anymore. Have tried restarting/reinstalling app, phone and sound bar to no avail. Looks like I’ll be using two remotes again. Oh well, sad that LG can’t get their own products to work with their own apps. Kind of ridiculous
The app worked fine at first, I’d connect to my soundbar via Bluetooth and be able to adjust settings effortlessly. However, within a month of setting my soundbar up the app refuses to connect to my soundbar. I’ve tried forgetting the device and pairing it again and nothing. LG SHOULD have enough money to have their developers create a more stable app. But this garbage app is all they can deliver to us, the customers. Very disappointing.
After you spend however many hundreds on your new sound bar/speakers/woofer - it’s a refreshing feeling knowing you MIGHT be able to control some of the stuff on your phone via WiFi. Get used to using the remote, because this app is completely useless. It will work sometimes, then others it will act like it’s never even been set up. Very very poorly designed & operated. Don’t even waste your time.
I like the idea of this sound bar. I don’t mind going to my phone for the sound bar menu. The problem is.. it doesn’t work. For instance, when I try to use the AI Room Calibration button, the app does nothing. The sound bar does not respond. Also, the sound bar in the app continues to vanish, send me to Google to reconnect, and come back, constantly. It’s a mess of a product. I emailed LG customer service for help on a fix and was ignored after a couple emails.
I go through set up, it searches for my soundbar, and always finds nothing. It then tells me to connect to the soundbar using my phone. I connect and verify that I can hear my phones music through the soundbar. Then re launch the app and do setup again. Same issue. It can’t find it and tells me to connect with my phone. All I want to do is control the bass of my sub since I lost the remote when I moved out of state.
This app would be nothing short of perfect if it weren’t for all the bugs and problems this app has. I would’ve never expected an app to behave like this after I dropped $1,000 on a soundbar setup. This app is downright embarrassing the way I never know whether or not it’ll actually work with me that day and it’s so annoying and frustrating.
This app is completely useless because it simply doesn’t work, the one single time I got it to connect to the soundbar it only worked for a day and next time I opened the app the soundbar was home and impossible to connect again, even connecting with Bluetooth and going back to the app doesn’t work, nothing happens. I will never use an LG product again if this is the standard of your quality
If this app isn’t be supported by LG why the F is it in the App Store. Great work LG, NOT!
Apps don’t support LG SL4 soundbar
1 Yr Ago this app was updated. And it’s still garbage. Lack of connection, functionality, design, support etc. Pull this thing off the market until LG fixes the damn thing.
You gotta fix the app to pair with all sound bars I lost the remote and This app won’t pair
App is no longer able to connect via wifi. You lose a number of additional settings only available on the app.
As said previous users there is no a connect to log sound bar. All faq in the app is useless.
It is no longer possible to connect LG Bluetooth soundbars to this app. The app will not recognize the device, despite it being connected to the phone via Bluetooth. When contacting LG about this issue, they recommended I purchase a new soundbar. Mine is only 3 years old.
After you install the app, connect to your soundbar and update the soundbar it sends you to a screen saying support for LG soundbar is done and you need LG ThinQ instead
Im looking at my LG brand soundbar and the app can’t recognize that it’s Bluetooth connected to my device no matter what I do, the app can’t recognize its own brand of soundbar
Could not set up my LGSQ soundbar. Just kept searching.
Have an LG SK10Y soundbar, was not a cheap model, used to work perfectly, now virtually useless because this app no longer supports it. Absolute criminals, beyond furious.
Do not install will make you return the sound system
After an update, this app is dead in the water. My soundbar was constantly connected the an update disconnected from the soundbar and will no longer reconnect to wifi or the soundbar. It’s trash.
Worst app I have ever used. Can't believe LG published something like this. They can't even connect to their own hardware. I'm returning the speaker because of this.
I expected the app to offer more functionality and this is not it. Doesn’t have much in way of options other than a few basic settings. For example, you should be able to turn individual speakers in a surround sound setup all the way down (or up) for the perfect experience. This one for some reason, only allows up to +- 6 db adjustments from the main soundbar. You can’t turn the soundbar on from the app either. And, when you connect to the soundbar via bluetooth, the source switches to bluetooth automatically. I’d like to keep my source as HDMI while watching TV and connect with my phone’s Bluetooth to make adjustments.
This has got to be the worst app I’ve ever used. Does not work. Embarrassing coming directly from the manufacturer.
I just bought S95QR soundbar. I’ve been playing music from my phone on the sound bar using Bluetooth. I just downloaded this app. I don’t have a wifi installed yet so I selected Bluetooth. Although I can play music using Bluetooth, The app doesn’t seem to be able to connect to the sound bar… I’m returning the sound bar, I didn’t feel the rear speakers were worthy of the $1000 I paid…
I'm connected to my soundbar with bluetooth on my phone and the app keeps saying to select it in settings. The app has permissions, it doesn't work.
Rendering this app and the whole “smart” feature useless. I expected better after paying for a premium level soundbar
I have a 2020 model sph4b. It’s not supported with this app but I had previously used it for this soundbar a while back but not a different phone. I just wanted to be able to change the settings back to bass boosted. We like our music and bass so yeah. Would love if it could be supported for the app. Or I just buy a different soundbar.
Ai sound setup removed during recent update. Kind of useless without it.
The app doesn’t work anymore.
When soundbar goes to standby mode it goes offline instead until the power button is pressed on soundbar, no more remote wake via app or anything possible
No support for LG SN4 sound bar which is highly disappointing. Please add support for it.
I have the same problem as previous reviewer. LG soundbar paired initially and now boom.. doesn’t work at all. Please fix it!
Constantly disconnects from the soundbar by saying it’s disconnected when it is not. Nor is it off. Please update this app!!!
I don’t write reviews. Decided to write one for this after struggling with the set up for an hour. This app reeks of a company that offshored their development to incompetence. Absolute trash UI and UX. It’s clear to me that they did the minimum amount of work to get this app working. UI is clunky with thoughtless and cumbersome navigation. Loading states are abyssmal. Error messages are unhelpful and there is no useful path forward. These guys need to do UX research and hire actual UI designers because this app feels like a developer chopped it up using non-native tech. Complete garbage.
No functionality after connecting through Bluetooth. I think mainly people would like to use the app for software updates. Fix it
After pairing with Bluetooth the app does absolutely nothing.
This app is so bad, it makes me want to sell my LG soundbar... Doesn’t work! It can’t connect to the soundbar so you can’t access the features to adjust the sound of the soundbar, wich makes the whole experience a nightmare... BAD BAD BAD!...
Like so many other reviews, this app doesn’t work. Able to connect via Bluetooth to my phone and the app still can’t find it. Tried multiple time with no luck…..deleted.
Does not work - I give this app 🅾️ out of 🔟 Brand new app user, have had the soundbar for a while. App does not detect my SN7Y soundbar at all. Disconnected and reconnected Bluetooth, forgot the soundbar and rebuilt the connection when the app prompted, turned everything off and on again. Nothing. It’s so focused on wifi connection (something this soundbar doesn’t have) I can’t make it see the Bluetooth connection! I even tried playing music while it searched - can’t find it. It’s definitely connected!! 😂
I had to switch from the lg app to this new one and it doesn’t work, why is it that instead of improving we always seem to move backwards? Maybe it improves for the developers but not for the customers. Crappy app now, will not work and it’s useless.
Didn’t work… the sound bar connected to the phone, but the app insists that it can’t find the bar …tried for hour no luck. Come on LG, you better than that 👎👎👎
SP9YA soundbar. Connected fine for 1 month, then won’t connect. OK, reset soundbar, it worked for a day and then won’t connect. Reset again, worked for a day again and now won’t connect.
I used to have the original app, then they updated to this one. It first worked, then I got a new phone and now I cannot get it connected. App says connect to Bluetooth and I have, several times over and over again and it still won’t say I’m connected. Not happy at all, it was one major reason why we purchased this sound bar and subwoofer and extra speakers for it. This is for the LG SK8Y
Can't find my SNY7 sound bar through Bluetooth. Useless app
