I must to give this app a five star rating I believe it has saved my life!!! Recently I was in the hospital and from the hospital transferred to a rehabilitation facility, The hospital was of course very cautious with the medication they gave me and told me what each pill was that they were giving me unfortunately when transferred to the rehabilitation facility it became a nightmare!!! I felt like I had stepped into the twilight zone!!! These people the nurses which I'm being very nice calling them that would hand me a cup of medicine & I would ask what is this and they would say it's your high blood pressure medicine and your seizure medicine so as soon as the nurses back was turned I checked the medication numbers and identifying marks that were on the tablets and discovered that they were not giving me my medicine, as prescribed by my doctor but we're giving me Tylenol #3 & A medicine for low blood pressure so in fact they could have killed me by doing this!!! So I was able to check the app identify the medicine and not take it and so I am alive to write this review!!!! Also was in the hospital last year , where the exact same thing happened and again I checked this app to identify the tablets and they were not my prescribed medication but rather belonging to another patient!!! If I could I would give this app 1000 star rating you guys save my life two times how do I thank you????
As an EMT know Pharmacology is important and necessary to know immediately… If not in my memory the app. help me identify medications FAST AND QUICK! The other features like seeing a pic. of the medication(s) helps not only identify the medication(s) but the dosages those medication(s) are. Side Effects, Contraindications, Brand/Generic Names including much more. Job well done developers …
I wife was in the hospital and after surgery we had continuous problems with the medication that she was told to take. After checking each medication we would call the nurse back in and get the list corrected. They were using an old medication list from five years prior, mixed with a fresh medication list from a phone interview with a nurse from the hospital just a week before the surgery. That interview was 45 minutes long and covered even holistic and across the counter meds. In my opinion, the hospital has no excuse for messing this up so bad. And, to top it off, she was in the intensive care ward with the best professionals available. What does that make you feel like? Check your pills!!
Wish my daughter had used it. She had to be hospitalized after putting new meds in an old bottle for traveling. Didn’t pay attention and took wrong dosage. Had she paid more attention to the markings on the pills she would have maybe not made the mistake. Maybe.
Love this app, easy of use, accuracy and detailed information on the drug researched. I have tried others and deleted them all. This is the only one I trust and use.

I’ve used app several times and it has identified the ‘pill’ I searched for correctly every time. Thank you very much!!
$1 is cheap for what this app does. Don’t useable picture but it does ask you what is written in the pill!
This help me with my elderly mom pills so she can know what it is when she forget to discontinue the out dated ones.
Lots of info to identify drugs and usage.
This app is something that was missing: Recognizing pills by their markings & birdsongs. If you know anyone, or help anyone manage their pill minders - it can be daunting to track many medications and schedules. This does what it says: It identifies pills. I wouldn’t say it was easy. Using this tells you what a jumble it is to be a pharmacist. All it does is search the db for the meds & deliver choices. It did not find any pills in the shape of Fred Flintstone, however. This rates the app back to itself. I can’t rate this against similar applications, because I won’t buy every one to assess them properly. What would be useful: Being able to capture identification information by groupings locally would be useful. You can do that now, with screenshots. It means that one has to trust that a person has kept the medication screenshots current & the onus is placed on the user for accuracy.
I've got to say this is the best application for looking up on medications in general it's Great on giving you information on all meds!!! Maybe you found a pill and you don't know what it is type in the numbers and letters and whatnot and it will tell you what exactly that pill is. or the medications you are currently taking great on giving you information on what generic manufacturers are making your medications so if you have issues with taking certain generics like I do it's a great application to have to give you information on generally everything about medications it's a must-have app if you are taking any medication it will give you all the information you need interactions with the Meds, FDA information, Classification of the medication and so on.
Very accurate, as a medical professional I always check behind pharmacies after my meds are filled because you never know when the form or shape of them changes, so this is an accurate tool to use to ensure the meds are legit and the pharmacy techs are/have filled your meds accurately...human error and mistakes can and do happen and this tool stays up on the latest technology with any new changes that come about with medicine and gives a thoroughly detailed analysis of what it is and how it looks along with basic instructions for administering and any warnings or side effects to consider before taking.
Sometimes when I get a prescription from a doctor, I'm curious about brand-name versus generic. Or, I wonder why I'm getting this drug and not another, similar drug. The pill finder by color and description is exceptionally easy-to-use. The reference text is written in easy-to-understand, plain language. Having Pill Finder is like having my own in-house pharmacist who can answer all of my questions. I highly recommend this application for anyone who wants to know more about their medications but doesn't have the time to go to pharmacy college.
This app is great. I use it all the time at home and at work. Sometimes at work we will find pills in the floor bed etc. and with this app we can tell what they are so we know what the pt didn't take dropped hid or whatever. When I find meds at home I know what they are what they are for etc. ALSO.......a friend of mine found some meds in her teenagers room and was able to find what they were. Obviously it wasn't good but at least she found out her kid was taking drugs before it was too late!!! Get this app it is the best!!!
My father was having a procedure 3 days ago and he was having to give a list of his meds before the procedure. He didn't have his list so he was going from memory. He gave them a name of a prostate med and wasn't sure of the spelling or the pronunciation. The nurse put it in their computer & nothing came up. I put it in this app and it pulled right up. We went and showed it to the nurse and she was able to pull it up on her computer. Aside from being scared that we could find it and the hospital couldn't, we were impressed with the app. Thank you!
This is the ONLY pill identifier I will ever use, and I've tried probably every one of them! It even tells you what meds will interact or interfere with the ones you're already taking. I love this app!! Everyone needs this particular app if u take more than one kind of medicine!!! Especially maintenance type meds ( High BP, cholesterol, ect..) I even went ahead and paid for the Pro edition. It's worth every penny! I'd give it more than 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️s if it gave me the option!
My Mammaw has cancer and is in numerous meds, always adding something new to what she already takes. She tends to drop pills or forget one in her pill reminder and this app help so much when I find a pill I can't identify. It definitely helps tremendously when she gets a different brand of a pill she is already taking and the new manufacturer's brand looks different to her.
Helping keep these local teens from getting their hands on potentially deadly doses of pills. This APP tells me undoubtedly what the drug is and dosage! It was only difficult in finding an over the counter drug number for medicine such as antacid or cold. However, Rx pill codes are spot on. I highly recommend it for whatever your search is and it may save lives knowing!!! ;) Five (5) Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really like this app. I like having all the info at my fingertips and with flash cards or small note books you can't have all the info you really need in your pocket, until NOW! There is, however, one thing I would love to add. A way to "favorite" or create a file that has the ability to link to your favorite or most used meds. But great app! Tank you!
My mother-in-law received her pain medication from pharmacy, after she took two tablets, she told me that the medicine was a different color. I looked the medicine up on pill identifier instead of being 5 mg it was 30. Contacted her doctor and poison control, they told me what to do because of the sever affect on her stomach she threw up and we kept her awake until it was safe to let her go to sleep.
Great app saves lots of time waiting to get to a laptop or tablet with this app all your info you need is right on your smart phone about the drug and the pictures so helpful. I told a pharmacy HEY you gave me the wrong strength alprazolam they should be white not peach and the markings are wrong...she said OMG ...THEN how did you know that you just walked out the door a minute ago. I showed her this App!
Ya,ya,this is the bomb...I only do pills that I know the thrills....
Pill Identifier By Drugs.com Negative Reviews and Ratings
I have enjoyed your Pill Reminder app. But am disappointed with this Pill Identifier. I paid $ for this one and it doesn’t show all medications. Only popular ones such as narcotics. I had gotten Pill Reminder in app advice a couple years ago or so and I LOVE IT. PLEASE fix this one so I can see all medications for USA thanks, Kit D Kat 100
If I pay for a pill identifier app I expect to be able to tell the app everything about the pill to get the results needed. Asking about shape and color doesn't let you find it. You don't ask for an imprint so how do you know what it is? Popular searches doesn't help. Maybe the pill I'm looking for isn't popular. I'm going to keep the app hoping you will fix this since I paid money for it.
Not sure why I thought paying for the app would be more convenient but it definitely isn’t. The filters for shape and color disappear when you type in an imprint, and the search results are just the names, rather than the photos like it displays on the site. Pointless.
I love it because I use this app all day at work. I just got a new phone, the iPhone X, and now can’t see the drug name when I get the search results. Please fix?
There is little sense in finding your way through this ap. Searching for pills works fine. But….trying to get to the record of your prescription is frustrating. The help section is also of little help.
I updated the app and suddenly there are ads in my paid app. The developer has sold over to the dark side. The app has become sluggish since. I’m uninstalling and I want my money back. All paid users have been cheated and should be immediately issued a refund.
Unable to identify a pill obtained in US with an identifying number on it.
This app is not worth .99 when there are Better sites that you can search for free. It should Allow you to scan the pill especially for those with poor eye sight
Just downloaded your app tonight. Do I have to set something up in settings in order for this to work? I found this pill on another app I have but it didn’t give the dose of the pill. THIS app found NOTHING!! Very disappointed so far
Very poor. Only able to choose one color for the pill when it had two color. Waste of money.
I just received an rx that is imprinted 189, round pink pill (medium pink) by Rising pharm . This is the first time my rx for bupropion xl 300 has been pink, wanted to double check if it’s the correct med. this medium pink pill is not in your database , does not appear to be updated
Obvious clone of that safari feature where u can turn the webpage into an app shortcut and for a dollar? Reminds me of an ugly fat girl getting mad at you for not being 6'5 rich and a genius while not a nerd
I’m a Parkinson’s Disease patient wit COPD and AFib. I take 15 separate medications, all daily..some of them five and six times a day. I’m an intelligent, educated man with a very vertical brain that still at 77 works just fine, thank you. So here’s the thing..I endeavored,on your app, to find each & every one of the 15 Rx’s, being very, very careful about inputting the correct alphanumerics, with a helper cross-checking. Want to know how many we found? Zero! None! Nada! Zip! You guys are pathetic. David Martin Berkeley, CA
This app used to be very helpful but now I put in what’s printed on my pill and it gives me absolutely no information. If I knew the name of the pill, I wouldn’t need this app…
I just paid .99 for this app. I tried 4 generic drugs and all of my searches turned up nothing found. I did find the information I needed on a free app. Do not waste your time with this app.
Very poor app. No way to show upper & lower imprints when divided by a line on same side. Tip says “use a space to separate front and back imprints”. That doesn’t work either.
Really you could not even identify a potassium pill I did every which way according to the pill and the bottle. And you still could not identify it.
Downloaded to help my husband identify medications that had changed manufacturers and changed the pills appearance. Do not recommend this app. Deleted.
Almost useless when logo is sole identifier and color choices are far too limited. No photo capability. I do not recommend this app. Dr Richard Hilburn. Goals of Care, PLLC
Should be able to tell what is imprinted on the pill to identify what it is
Maybe it works for the western world, but I had zero luck identifying common medications in Thailand.
Very few manufacturers listed. No features other than search. I want my money back.
I searched for a well known drug called Kenzoflex and no results showed up! It’s basically Ciproflacin a well known anti biotic.
App opens and there is only getstarted button and it does nothing!!
Did not identify pill didn’t even have it in database and I searched for it.
This app is terrible. No way to put in 2 tone pill. When I put in the # on the pill it comes bsck mo match.
Tried pink, peach and the number 20 with no other markings, nada.
Could not find the pill I described. Wish I knew its identity.
What a waste of my time. RECOMENDED: DO NOT BUY THIS APP.
I had to look up some pills my doctor was discontinuing. There was absolutely no results information that applied to 5 pills.
Not too practical. If you enter, for example, blue and oval, you get a simple list of dozens of meds. You then have to "tap" each one to see the picture to find out if that's yours.
