Filmic Pro-Video Camera Positive Reviews
Bugs on iPhone XI purchased this app because I had heard many great things about it and I will say that I was very impressed with a lot of the tricks of this app has to offer. However what’s been disappointing me over and over again is it the app has been crashing when using high frame rates, and not even for that long of a period. It will freeze when entering the review portion of the app where I would view the videos I’ve taken. I’ve also had times where I am switching resolutions and the app goes into mirror mode, which I’m sure is not supposed to happen. The image becomes upside down and reversed left to right making it impossible to record until I shut down the app completely and sometimes even have to turn off my phone. I have had the focus and exposure dials randomly start turning on me and I’ve also had exposure settings changed even though I have had them locked in. Overall I’m pretty disappointed because I never had these issues with ProMovie recorder which was only three dollars and I had heard amazing things about this app. These bugs could get taken care of I would be 100% satisfied because there are a lot of great things this app provides but I’m just not there yet. Thanks guys..Tonyf8104Version: 6.4.10
Fantastic Investment.Personal use or business, this app WILL benefit you. If you're invested enough in the digital film age, this will prove useful someway, somehow. The cost of cameras and editing software ALONE should convince you to get this app. Live analytics, manual and auto focus, ease of access to change exposure, audio sensitivity control, guides, frame rate options, a company that listens and interacts with the community-- the list goes on, I couldn't be bothered. I WISH the native camera app on smart phones was this intuitive. The fact that I live in a day and age where I can practically have a movie camera in my pocket is astonishing, all for such a generous price (granted you have a phone at all. If you're reading this, I'm left to assume that you do). Buying this will NOT turn you into Christoper Nolan, but the HANDS ON advantages that this app provides you are a no brainer. Quentin Tarantino didn't have a movie maker in his pocket growing up. But YOU can.
As someone who strives to live in the entertainment industry, this is a must for me. I have gotten to experience so much from this app with my PHONE that I would not have otherwise experienced without investing in a thousand dollar camera.
If you're interested enough in film, are super low budget, and want an introductory taste? Buy this app now..Impressed TO THE MAX (7273781)Version: 6.10.6
Previous user formerly irate now very happyI love this app, I’ve been using it for a while now and it is perfect for what I do. Now with the new update I’m being forced to sign up for a payment plan? I get you need to make your money, but the reason I use my phone is that I am on a tight budget. Charging me $40 one time is fine, but every year? I wish you chose to let those of us who have been loyal customers keep our current plan but I’m sure you have plenty of people who will be willing to pay for this and losing business to one broke guy won’t keep you up at night. Now if you’ll excuse me I have a tiny violin to play while I tell my sad story to Buttons, my imaginary friend. Because unlike you, Buttons cares about my feelings.
(Additional notes after the developer kindly responded and I had a snack and a nap)
Okay, so Buttons and I may have overreacted a tiny bit. Turns out we can still use the previous version that we paid for if we don’t want the new one. It was really easy. So I get to use my “Vintage” version that I am very happy with. Thank you creators of Filmic Pro for keeping us in mind, it is greatly appreciated. Sorry for the drama..Sad Broke GuyVersion: 7.0.2
An unfortunate changeFilmicPro was an absolutely brilliant app; one that prioritized functionality & capability over everything else. Despite a few minor UI/UX shortcomings it has long represented the best the App Store had to offer in terms of film making on iPhone.
Unfortunately FilmicPro - one of the last holdouts - has now gone off and made it a subscription service. While I understand the economics of app development can be challenging… I won’t be subscribing. I would much rather pay for a new version every 2/3 years that perhaps supports the newer phones going forward. The new update does provide some new and nice function - yet still with many of the same UI shortcomings ( in my subjective opinion )
Overall very sad. Understandable but sad. Unless „professional filmmaking“ on iPhone becomes a priority for me ( which I doubt it is for the majority of current filmic owners ) I don’t see many people paying for the service. Anyways. Thanks for keeping filmic 6 around and I sincerely wish you guys the best of luck 👏. Let me know if you go back to one-time payments 👍.Konstantin von SteinVersion: 7.0.0
You get 10 starsBest app on the market. I got some major ideas for this app. Send me your email. I’ve used many apps and this is flawless. I’m a reggae producer who started video recording. I use a gimbal. Filmic pro. Filmic remote. Mic and light using only my iPhone. The videos are speechless. But I see some ideas that could lock the market. Expand the lens to 6x like the app for my gimbal. Add under community access to sign in a Client to access their camera but record the video into my filmic pro. That way I can record people from around the world in high quality. Make the app access more features on the gimbals. And a story mode like the app for my gimbal. That stitches video together into a movie. I would give you 9000 stars. I compared a few footages from filmic and the iPhone camera. No comparison. Filmic is like having a expensive dslr camera in a iPhone. Ohhh another thing. Add filters in a in app purchase for the lens. Another thing I thought of. Under audio. Add access to iaa apps. Like MicSwap. And we can swap the mic in the video to different mics. And filmic would be Hollywood. Oscar. Etc etc..AKOUSTIKAL KREATIONSVersion: 6.12.0
Indie Filmmaker Must Have App!I’ve been using filmicpro for years (back when the app was $1.99 and iPhone 4’s were all the rage!). I was excited about the idea of iPhone filmmaking then and made a number of projects for the iPhone film festival circuit. Then I stepped away from iPhone filmmaking to focus on other indie films with a variety of camera types (not mobile phone related.). After a few years, I came back to this app and iPhone filmmaking because I love the flexibility of it. I purchased the new $9.99 additional feature with LOG as a setting option and I have to say, I am SO SO pleased to see FilMIC pro has continued to update their app and make iPhone filmmaking more of a legitimate and credible option for the independent filmmaker! The newest features with adjusting the ISO, focus pull, light balance, etc is really awesome! With a few options in lens attachments in addition to this app I really love how versatile it is becoming. It’s still not going to give you the performance of a DSLR or studio level camera, but it is definitely a viable option for filmmakers now! And I love it!.ActartactivistVersion: 6.5.0
The anamorphic filter is real!Great App. The in-app microphone is the best when compared to other video Apps, but I feel that the creators put to much focus on it. For example, I have manually turned off the mic multiple times only to close the App and return to it being engaged again. The quality and manual focus options are so smooth and have so much potential that this app partnered with a gimble steadycam could give the even the most pedestrian filmmaker into a national festival. I guess what I’m saying is that they should scrap the microphone entirely and enhance what is already the best focus and depth of field on the AppStore. Basically, if the quality of the footage is going to be as professional as it is, then it’s kind of bogus to assume that the microphone recorder is going to get the job done in post. Who are they appeasing? Wake up, yr not SnapChat...and that’s OK. I love yr app, though. Like I said, get a steady-cam or a cheap tripod and tell a story about something that explains how you feel about things because FILMpro is really killing it with quality..RedSymbol/Version: 6.5.1
Seems Like There’s Much PotentialI don’t have time for many positives but I will say the app adds many features that the native camera app doesn’t have. I also get stunning footage in 24fps LOG.
What I Want (Using on iPhone 11 Pro):
60fps LOG as this is disabled
Shutter speed lock when switching lenses
Simultaneous shutter speed and exposure lock
Exposure lock when switching lenses
Easier way to switch between lenses
Easier rack focus mechanism
Zoom mode that auto switches lenses like the native app while recording
Zoom mode that allows me to quickly switch to 2x lens while recording
Frame drops in any frame rate to stop occurring
Easier white balance adjustments with lock and number input ability
ISO number input ability
Tap to focus option
Histogram overlay while recording
I have shot commercial videos with this app now multiple times and some videos on the side for fun. It is a major step up from the native camera app but I do not feel confident using this in a working environment as I am adjusting settings more often than shooting, missing many important shots as most of my work involves live events. For now, I will have to switch back to using my DSLR.
If the above list of features were implemented into the software my worries would be gone and I’d give this app a 5 star rating..AldodelohingyVersion: 6.10.4
This app is a sight for sore eyesI used FilmicPro on my galaxy S 22 ultra and am psyched to find it's on the app store. I found it was the most fully equipped cinematography/videocam app, yet somehow they manage to keep everything minimalistic streamlined and just totally sleek looking. Form follows function Minimalistic streamlined and just totally sleek looking. Form definitely follows function as it’s fantastically minimal design is so easy work with. It didn't take me long at all to learn my way around. Though even after 4 years of using Filmic I still doubt I know everything this feature packed beast of a smartphone camera can do. You definitely won't get bored with this one. Devs 🙇🏼♀️🙌🏻 kudos! Btw I do have one question... I have not been able to find an app with tracking auto focus like Samsung s22 and later offers. Do you or ANYONE offer TAF on IOS?? Or is it not possible due to limitation of ios hardware? I was surprised it wasn't in the stock cam (on my14pro max) tbh. Thanks again.AryamyaVersion: 7.4.2
Removed the promotional link in the main menu (y)The previous version has a promotional link front and center in the top-level main menu, which I think was inappropriate, in particular when there is also an Information / Support page which would have been perfect for that. That’s great. However the app still does not work with the Osmo Mobile 3 gimbal, which has been widely available everywhere for several weeks now. The app connects, but the gimbal functions don’t work, for example the Rec button on the gimbal changes the volume, zoom does nothing, etc, so the DJI protocol changes and Filmic currently lags a little behind. In addition to the obvious, it would be nice to add a tracking mode that controls the gimbal motion from the app, where we could drag an arbitrary rectangle anywhere in the frame, and the shot would keep whatever is there at that position in the frame (specifically, not necessarily centered!) - that would be the next level of awesomeness! Thanks for the update, yet already looking forward to the next one..Rallyfan1234567890Version: 6.9.8
Great app. Would love if...I’ve been using FilMic for some time now and I have to say it is the best app out there for smartphone filmmaking or content creators who don’t have a mirrorless, DSLR or cinema camera. With the quality of camera phones these days, it’s getting close to where you may not need those other cameras. Unlikely, but close. There are a few things that I would like to see in future updates, though. One being, a Clinometer. There are apps that do this but it would be more efficient if it were incorporated into the app. The other being a way to control more gimbals like Zhiyun Crane 3s. I know it takes both companies to be onboard with this idea but if you can make that happen, that would be fantastic. I love this app. It’s my go to app for filmmaking. I said I would try this subscription model for a year to see if it was worth it. So far, I’m not disappointed. Keep it going FilMic! Thanks for all the great updates..Innatedagr8Version: 7.5.1
FilMic Pro: Sure, it’s at least worth the money.FilMic Pro is great with iPhones. On the iPhone 7 Plus alone, it’s able to shoot 120 Frames Per Second (FPS), and just imagine what it could accomplish with future smartphones. On the new iPhone 11, it can even shoot 240 FPS. That’s totally unheard of for any phone camera. One thing I would ask the developers to do is not limit all of FilMic’s functions to the iPhone 11 Pro. I mean, granted, I’m sure a lot of Apple fans have the Pro models, but some of the functions are restricted to just these fans that I speak of. For example, the iPhone 11, the phone which I currently have, has a wide and ultra wide camera. The FilMic app has no problem zooming in, but it will not zoom out. What good is and ultra wide camera if I can’t use it? The Pro model phones can zoom out in the app, though. Also, I would like to see automatic focus. The focus is only controllable by the app user, so this ends up with slight imperfections. Overall I enjoy using this app, and can’t wait to see what future updates can accomplish..DudesaboyVersion: 6.10.4
Filmic Pro is one of the few truly professional appsI’ve been a Filmic Pro user for many years, and am always impressed at the settings and features available within the app that can’t be found elsewhere. Filmic Pro provides high quality, easy-to-use access to each facet of filmography that can be used on iOS and iPadOS. Integrated support for third-party wireless mics, external lenses, and cloud storage further extend just what the platform is capable of, and allow users to take advantage of resource-intensive modes such as ProRes video, HDR10, high frame rates, and uncompressed audio — all without worry that the phone or tablet’s internal storage will be overwhelmed.
I wholeheartedly recommend Filmic Pro to anyone who works in film, is a prosumer, and/or occasionally finds themselves needing to shoot professional-grade footage from their Apple device..Soren42Version: 7.5.3
Excited and scared, but your team is amazingWell I’ll just start off by saying this might be my first of a follow-up review that I’ll do on filmic pro. Although I am a content creator designer, musician and photographer I have finally been given the opportunity to develop a short feature film and I’ve been struggling due to the low budget whether or not I was going to do the project using FiLMiC Pro and my iPhone XS Max with the moment lens or eating the cost of getting a DSLR camera in the $1500 range. After testing with your software and with my phone and the Moment lenses I’m very excited about this project. Please continue to look for ways to improve the product wherever you can but I realize there’s only so much you can do based upon the hardware that Apple or any other phone developer puts into their camera and lens system. Stay tuned..Gil VelazquezVersion: 6.8.1
Disappearing OptionsI think this will be a good option for B-roll in conjunction with my DSLRs using my DJI Osmo Mobile and iPhone. However, the analytics functions disappear. They are there for a second and then they’re gone. I don’t know if maybe it’s because I am using an older iPhone. Also, no 4K option. I know it can be done with an iPhone 5s. I have seen it done. I even have a $2.99 app installed that gets me useable footage that is just slightly less than 4K. Hands down FilMic Pro is the clear winner in the category of apps that can get you cinematic footage on your iPhone, just don’t forget about those of us that don’t upgrade our phones as often. If my disappearing options are not related to the age of my phone, I would love to know what is causing it. I would love it if I could even get 1440p but all I can get is 1080p. One other thing, I am running iOS 11.3 if that helps..J2nice78Version: 6.4.10
Now we have to pay! Smh.I have used Filmic Pro for almost two years! Now Filmic Pro wants people to pay and I’m very disappointed in that because not many people have the money to pay. The reason why I haven’t invested into a $1000 - $3000 DSLR camera is because I have a 13 Pro that I’m already having to pay $1000 for. What’s the point on paying for a subscription if I have a pro phone! Hints the name FILMIC PRO! I have made in app purchases to get film logs and other presets… now I have to pay something I can’t afford to pay for. I understand that this app has to have some sort of money flow to improve the app. But at least charge two dollars a month then I’ll pay. But weekly I can’t do that! I really love this app and now I’ve kinda lost interest in this app. I hope the crew at Filmic Pro will fix this ASAP..Anonymous227.19Version: 7.0.0
Want pro video from your iPhone? Get this app!!!Writing an updated review.
The iPhone video camera is remarkably good. I’m using Filmic Pro on an iPhone 8+, and this app gives me manual control over just about everything. I can lock and manually control focus, exposure, and even color temperature. There are various profiles to shoot with that allow for better post-production color correction. I love how well Filmic Pro and LumaFusion work together as an acquisition/post suite, all on a single device.
The interface is well thought out and easy to use, once you get used to it. Being able to bring up focus peaking, zebras, and other overlays with a touch makes it remarkably easy to make sure I’m getting exactly the image I want. This app has allowed me to leave my DSLR home for many of my professional recording sessions.
I just added Filmic Remote to my toolkit. I’ve only used it in circumstances where I have a strong wifi network so far, but it works really well. It’s incredibly useful to be able to control the iPhone camera without touching it, and pretty much all of the tools you’d use in Filmic Pro are readily available in Filmic Remote. Well worth the price!.SFDexVersion: 6.6.0
Amazing!Recently the updates have pushed this app to new heights! There is now no reason why I cannot get the results I want using this app!
I am a photographer and I come from the film world and understand all the basics of still photography technology. Now with this app I can fully control movie making process to the same high-level that I do in photography which is truly amazing because I am using an iPhone 7 to do this! Enjoy you will not regret it as long as you read the information try all the settings over and over Until you believe you know it! Then you will have it under your control it’s that easy!
The update keep coming and coming and coming software is getting better and better and better!.Simaen says!Version: 6.6.0
One size doesn’t fit allI just opened Filmic for the first time in several months to discover I needed to either download the legacy version or pay a very steep subscription cost. Very disappointing.
While I very much appreciate the legacy option, I think you missed the boat here. Yes, there are people shooting on iPhones making commercial quality video. Yes, you deserve income for future development. But there’s a lot of casual users (I use it maybe twice a year) for whom a subscription is untenable.
Perhaps you could find a payment mechanism that is more equitable, say $X lets you download Y gigabytes of video, or $X gives your Y hours of shooting time. That would give you a revenue stream and allow casual users to get the latest features. I’m sure other mechanisms could be found as well..Ross-gorgonzolaVersion: 7.0.2
FascinatingI just downloaded this app to check it out. Hadn’t activated the trial and was just playing with 240fps in settings, when suddenly my iPhone 14 Pro Max powered off. The app didn’t crash, my phone completely powered off. I’m not a real (regular) user so initially I thought the screen was just dark or I tapped the wrong setting. It took a solid minute for me to figure out it had powered off. But my iPhone didn’t even power back on by itself. I had to manually hold the button down. I’ve never had that happen before in the history of apps (for me). I might use this app in the future for a specific project, but it feels like we’re being nitpicked to death by subscriptions so I’ll use something else until I can’t. So I don’t plan to use this app. But I’m glad it exists..AmplifiedLifeVersion: 7.0.2
Works great!I hardly ever write reviews but Filmic really earned a great review. Works great on my iPhone 6s. A really well-designed and full-featured app that fit my need for creating a more professional video than what I could have done with the native camera app. I had a bit of a hiccup trying to get the already-paid-for pro Kit onto my iPad, but it turned out to be an Apple App Store UI issue. Even so, Filmic Support was super helpful and responsive and helped me get over that hurdle. One minor area for improvements I’d suggest — the linking between the Remote on my iPad and FilmicPro on my iPhone was slow to be recognized and the pairing disconnected once (I’ve used it in 2 sessions so far). That said, I’m very happy with the FilmicPro kit bundle. KUDOS to the Developers and to Support!!.MyEmeVersion: 6.4.7
App Doesn’t Open On iPhone X After 6.4.4UPDATE: I appreciate the response the Developer Team addressing the issue at hand, they were thorough in explaining what went wrong in great detail and that there are certain issues they cannot re-create in house, and they rely on long time users to relay any issues your differences they have found. Not a lot of developers take the time to explain what caused an issue and exactly every step to correct it with little to no interruption towards the projects you already have in progress. They even gave me a contact email if the issue wasn’t resolved after preforming those steps. I appreciate the FiLMIC team for the work they put in, back to 5 stars from me. Thanks guys.SpeeddrumsVersion: 6.4.7
One perspective (hurry up and wait)Our arts NPO bought this app several months ago in anticipation of the dual-lens feature, and support for Osmo 3, eventually. It was made clear (those features) would be added in future updates. So I don’t feel misled, at all; in fact, I like the idea of something growing into its full promise, as it’s further developed.
With technology moving so fast, and with software driving the potential for hardware, it’s increasingly common for innovation to happen incrementally - after hardware and software are purchased. Personally, I think that’s really cool.
Anyways, I feel like some of the negative reviews trend toward hyperbole: I’m sure the developers are highly motivated to get updates right, and to get them out.
*Also, I’ve found the flickering issue to be remedied (IME) simply by using manual white balance, e.g. with the Filmic “locked in” color-temp feature. YMMV. We’ve only experienced the flicker when there’s a highly variable exposure (brightness) btw foreground and background.
We’ve gotten some really awesome results in very challenging environments, using this app. I like it a lot.
Here’s to future days..ErinthomaswilsonVersion: 6.10.3
Idk what to say.Bought the app for $20 yet you gotta pay extra $20 to unlock the profile settings? 😖

Close to perfect for ease and creative controlI look forward to contributing a comprehensive review, but decided on the occasion of the recent update, to raise a few points.
Most importantly for users: your presets may not work as expected after the update. My 240 fps > 24 fps slow motion preset lost the retiming preference, so I am stuck with a number of takes at just-plain-240 fps.
I suggest that users test and if necessary fix and re-save any custom settings that they need to rely on.
For FiLMiC Folks:
Not only for occasions such as this, please include the ability to retime clips among the post functions that you offer under the Play menu.
Too:
•When saving copies at reduced resolutions, please do not resample professional 48 kHz audio to the amateur 44.1 kHz “CD” sample rate.
•Please consider including choice of saving recompressed versions at the *same* pixel dimensions as the original clip, but at a lower data rate. In fact, choices of data rates and 2-pass encoding would be extremely useful for film makers needing to share rushes over limited data connections.
•Perhaps Apple has a lock on use of the H.265 codec. Especially as we seem limited to low data rates on our iOS devices, please allow us to choose if we wish, to use H.265 “Extreme” as the capture Codec for *any* pixel dimensions and frame rate.
•This applies to post options as well. I wanted to save and share a reduced-size 720p version of a (successful) H.265 1080p slow motion clip that I’d trimmed, and the re-compressed 720p H.264 clip was much larger than the original 1080p file.
•A minor, but annoying matter: please save recompressed files in .mp4 or as suitable containers. In the real world, we can’t keep banging our heads against the wall with clients using inferior operating systems that balk at or provide inferior performance displaying .mov files.
•Storage management is probably Apple’s issue. Long after I have offloaded all clips, deleted the originals and cleared Recently Deleted, iOS 13.6.1 Settings still attributes many gigabytes of file data to FiLMiC Pro… as it does for other apps even though *all* their data has been similarly removed.
Only by deleting (not offloading) the app then downloading it again from the App Store am I able to “recover” space that iOS should have shown as free in the first place.
As a side note, a few colleagues and one friend have observed that it’s been some years since a major version update to FiLMiC Pro, and they do not want to buy the app and necessary in-app purchases, when in their opinion their money will be “down the drain” when the “long overdue” update arrives.
To me this defeats the business model of developers who depend on income from existing sales to help fund costs of developing new versions.
Finally, as our phones are often more powerful than our computers made more than a few years ago, a (new, separate) transcoding utility which saves ProRes files to external media, would be superbly-useful for those of us who would like to have edit-ready files upon return from filming.
Many thanks for a great and continually evolving film making tool..UX GalVersion: 6.12.0

The camera seems great but...You have to pay an extra 13$ for the remote??? I understand paying for premiums like the log mode and other add one (though I don’t like it either)... but so many other apps have remotes for either free or 1$ Had I read more closely I would not have purchased.

Idea for future advancementOnce you have the multi camera feature working have you thought about making it record only on a specific amount of storage space. This could then be used as a dash cam as well as a great video recording tool and if you made an easy save feature for all cameras and it starts looping again then you would really have a multi use application.

Filmic Pro-Video Camera Negative Reviews
Not a good experience for those amateurs that are getting it right now.I was told by many reputable YouTuber’s for years that Filmic was it and that no other app stood a chance. I did not get it early on because I wanted to develop this passion towards cinematography and videography even more. I also wanted to learn more about filming before investing even a dime. What I truly loved about this app was that it was a one-time purchase business model so when I was ready to move out of Apple’s simple Camera app, that I will just pay one time and if I want certain kits then I would just pay one fee for them.
Instead, you guys decided to switch to a business model for I am sure some good reason or a bad reason such as greed. Nonetheless, you guys should have considered that maybe innovation might be the problem. Maybe if you innovated and told new customers and advertise to them about how beneficial it would be to purchase your app then you would be able to stick with your one-time purchase business model. Instead, you guys decided to switch to a subscription-based business model, and leave. Everyone who has already paid for this service left out and having to pay a subscription. If they want any new features granted, I am not someone who has bought this app yet, but was about to many months ago until I learned about you guys switching to a new business model..Starry814Version: 7.3.0
The end of this appDoesn’t matter what new features you guys add. The fact that there’s at least 5 apps that are almost up to par to this one and cost less than what this app cost before this scam subscription model , shows the lack of consumer interest. It’s all greed from every angle, I get the recurrent revenue by making this a Netflix but that’s just the filmic pro name at this point , take adobe as an example , is a reason why there’s massive shifts away to davinci, canva and fcp Ect. And are becoming the go to softwares to do things. This app is made for certain geographic and not everyone films religiously on their phones so they don’t care to just move on to an alternative app. This app didn’t update frequently to justify the sub prices. The only honest reason you guys are still around is because Apple doesn’t decide to give their costumers manual control of their camera and The alternative apps right now are only somewhat lack is 3rd party support like gimbal and accessories capabilities, once they partner with companies like dji , zhiyun and others and offer support is pretty much over for you guys . I give it a year or two at most because some people probably subscribed for a year, by then the alternatives will be caught up and the year subs will see it isn’t worth to keep subscribing once the other catch up by then. Good riddance and good luck. Doom of a champ because of greed.Telz LopezVersion: 7.0.0
ShamelessRealizing that every company needs to make money - your app was not cheap (as apps go) So you “update” the app I paid for and 𝒚𝒐𝒖 advertised as being a “one-time-purchase.” Now, thanks to your avarice, I can’t use the app unless I buy a subscription. Shameless exploitation. And yes, I already heard, I can download the legacy version - a version that is not designed to be updated, one for which you plan no support. Had I and countless others (check your reviews here and other review forums) known you were planning this, 𝒘𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒚 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒇𝒓𝒂𝒖𝒅𝒖𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒍𝒚 𝒂𝒄𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒖𝒔, 𝒆𝒍𝒔𝒆𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆. Like on “Beast Cam”, or “Moment”, or “Protake.” Bait and switch… and there’s not “thing one” any of us can do about it. It’s too late to dispute the initial purchase from the App Store. Congratulations on finding the perfect way to steal from your customers… in plain sight… without repercussions. If you were smarter, you would have 𝒓𝒆-released this app with a new name. But then you wouldn’t have had a ready made base of people you could try and double sell to… or your coveted “Editor’s Choice” status. I see you Filmic Inc and your parent company Bending Spoons. Your business practices are reprehensible, I’m disgusted. And you should read some of the Reddit posts of people who also think you are criminals..PamelaLambertVersion: 7.3.0
I feel ripped off.I DO NOT think it’s ok to have someone buy something from you, just for you to then take it back and charge them a subscription for its use. How is this even legal let alone ok? Technically, they didn’t take it away but you can’t even save your videos that you take with it so pretty much you can’t even use it or what’s the point and using it if you can’t access the footage you recorded unless you have a subscription. It’s like going to Walmart buying some thing and then Walmart coming to your house and taking it unless you pay a subscription monthly for it. Oh, but let’s not forget we took off a dollar for “loyalty” since I bought it already. Please. A lot of people are not only very angry but all feel cheated and ripped off my the filmicPro app development team..,but I can’t speak for others. I can only speak for myself and how I feel on it. Which is also cheated, ripped off, and it’s all together bad business. I went from your biggest supporter and praised you on my channel. Now I’m done with filmic pro. Greed gets the best of everyone
Eventually. And with the way that technology is moving faster each day. There will be the next “filmmakers favorite app” before you know it…,and the only thing that people will remember about filmic pro is getting ripped off..Bjames2700Version: 7.0.2
Need to get back to V6 with all purchased options INCLUDING DOUBLETAKERESOLVED: After the automatic upgrade to V7 I can’t send recently filmed footage for my client. Not to mention using the app without paying for it again. This wasn’t suppose to be an “upgrade” but rather sold as a separate product. I have already paid for the app and my clients paid handsomely for the project they can’t even see. UPDATE: Ok. This has been resolved after time spent (would filmic be so kind to pay for my time?): downloaded the legacy, moved files from “pro” to “legacy” and finally was able to send them to my frustrated client.
ADDITIONAL PROBLEM: Something else thou - DoubleTake now automatically connects to the “upgraded” Pro V7, not the restored-downgraded-renamed “legacy” V6. Well, I have paid for the DoubleTake and want to be able to use it with restored v6. ⭐️ rating still remains. FINAL THOUGHTS: don't get me wrong - I’m not surprised by the price. Would buy it for this price if it was sold this way originally. What’s wrong - is how the upgrade from v6 to v7 handled. Customers were hit with new payments without any advanced warning plus time and efforts needed for recovering existing footage. V7 is a new app - not an upgrade. Information well in advance would help us make educated choices. Instead we got an offer we can’t resist - mob style.Whatever58Version: 7.0.1
Echo sentiments of upset customersI’m a RISD film, filmmaker and animation artist. I have pro equip that I love and use this for capturing frames I want to go back to. The stabilizing feature is nice. However, developers, you developed a piece of software that works. It doesn’t need to be updated. It works well. If you want to release bug fox updates great. Apple does it regularly and does t charge their loyal customers a few for being loyal. If you want to develop a new app with new features to draw a more professional audience then build a new app and charge new customers a rate for building your software. Babbages, computer center, and dozens of other software distributors did this for decades from the early 80’s and charged customers once. You bought it, took it home, installed it, and every now and then you could download firmware updates. You’re revenue comes from reaching new customers. Not pillaging customers who’ve already paid for your product. This is absolutely disgusting. And a terrible business model. People cannot afford dozens of subscriptions every month. I’m done. Not paying for your new software and neither should anyone else..Westmoreland's KABVersion: 7.1
Great app/ horrible business moveI have been using Filmic Pro for less than a year now. I have loved every minute of it, but I originally bought the app precisely because it was not a subscription model. Well, they have now been bought out by a company that is changing that. They have said that those of us that previously bought the app would continue to be able to use the app without “upgrading” to the subscription but they have yet to clarify if we would still get updates or be forced into the subscription model when we upgrade to new phones. So in other words, when I upgrade to the iPhone 14 that is about to come out, will I be able to download the app that I have loved and already own……….probably not! I will never pay upwards of $150 a year for an app on a phone! That is insanity and Bending Spoons needs to realize they are not dealing with consumers who were born with silver spoons in their mouths. They have, in all likelihood, initiated the end of a once great app!
I would have ranked the app 4 stars plus before this move by the company. Now……… 1 star is generous!.TpianoguyVersion: 6.19.9
Underhanded nonsenseI’ve always been a fan of this app. I purchased it and the cinematographer’s pack and felt it was a good value. But this update just got pushed into my device and now I find myself in a position of having a hobbled app (cannot export captured video to camera roll or anywhere else) or having to fork up a *weekly* or annual fee. There was some language on startup about always having access to a legacy version but I didn’t digest it because I couldn’t imagine what I was getting into on what I assumed was a routine update of my app. I hope I’ll be able to find it on their website. Anyway, foisting a subscription model this way (instead of forking a new app) is really poor form and I expect better from them. And I’m sorry but not every app is appropriate for a subscription. As a community of users we need to push back against this nonsense. Yes, please, charge for your app. Charge a premium if that’s what you need to do to keep updating and supporting the app. But this is dumb..Wass_his_faceVersion: 7.0.0
Real scammy moveI’m a film major and I bought this app at the recommendation of my professor as it’s a cheaper alternative to buying a camera. At the time mine was old and somewhat broken and I couldn’t afford a new one so I thought it would be a good move. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case.
This app was wonderful for a period of time, it gave me quality footage that was actually better than both my old camera and the cameras provided to us by the school. However, in a disgustingly scammy move they decided to implement a monthly subscription fee. I’m currently unemployed and I’m living on a budget, $8 a month for an app that I already payed $15 for?? That’s just unsustainable to me. At this point I might as well delete the app and save up for a camera because I’ll be spending the same amount of money on it in the long run. Next thing you know they’re gonna be charging you to delete the app like they’re Adobe.
Hopefully they reverse this decision as it seems I’m not alone in finding this absolutely absurd..EmmaLauren95Version: 7.0.2
Subscription just doesn’t make sense for most usersLike many others, I mostly just use the built in camera app for quick videos during the week. I bust out Filmic when things need to be more professional or I need more control for one reason or another. I will frequently go weeks or even months without using it but then will use it intensely for a short period. The move to a subscription model means that I would constantly be subscribing for a week here and there and then unsubscribing, which is just not worth the trouble for me. I understand that the legacy features are still functional, but I am being pestered every time I open the app to subscribe. I understand the need for a revenue stream and why they can’t give free updates forever, but personally, I’d pay up to 40 to own this new version outright, or 15 dollars or so on a yearly basis but not the 40 or 50 they are asking, and certainly not 2-3 dollars a WEEK. I’m sure for some it makes sense, but not this user..Brian SkoogVersion: 7.0.0
Coulda been a contender…I teach video production and post at the university level. because of the pandemic closures of facilities at school I was recommending FilmicPro as a solution to those who didn’t own a camera.
I have been shooting with Filmic for a while and have loved it in the past despite some consistent bugs with saving files. now these bugs have gotten worse where on a normal shoot I can expect 4 out of 5 footage clips i record to be completely corrupted.
Yesterday foe instance out of 9 clips only one works. when I check the files with a video repair app it shows random blocks in the clip where not saved at all.
if this was a one off so be it, but it is not and even after following most recommended Filmic inc settings on my iPhone 11pro, i get the same results.
this shows me this company is not ready for pro usage, and is definitely not safe ro use in critical moments…. please passs it over until they fix the bugs.SeabasstinVersion: 6.14.0
New, unwanted subscription model bait and switchThis is positively nauseating. One of the best video apps in the history of the App Store has pivoted into a subscription scam model to squeeze recurring revenue from people no matter how much they actually use the thing.
How wonderful, one of my favorite tools has been turned into a SERVICE that people can REPEATEDLY pay for if they want version updates. Oh, and very cute, users who purchased this tool back when it was a tool and not a SERVICE get to download a sneaky always-unlocked version of the app. Hooray for me and past owners. Downright gross for future users.
I can’t believe an app and development team I had the utmost respect for and who I felt had the utmost respect for their users would make such a greedy, frustrating, backwards and upsetting decision. This app was once truly wonderful. However, I will never recommend it to another living soul as long as the team continues in this anti-consumer, anti-creativity new direction. Shameful, unexpected, and so very sad..James AvestruzVersion: 7.0.2
Was a good app, but shady changes ruined it.Change from purchasable app to subscription model is extremely disappointing. And it did so kind of underhandedly which makes it even worse to me. Had I not seen the others reviews first, I probably would have unknowingly just updated the app and not have noticed the change. This is not acceptable. It should have been a NEW app altogether, so that those of us that had purchased the app would have not just been blindly switched into a subscription model. I get that they now have a “Legacy” app. But updating the old app should have never moved previous purchasers to the subscription model app, and it should have just updated us to the “legacy” app instead with option for US to chose to switch into a new subscription model if we so choose. The deception in that is appalling. I won’t be recommending this app from now on for that reason alone. Too bad, because the app WAS fantastic. Shady business practices ruined it for me..ThephotographorrVersion: 7.3.0
Betrayed by the App I Convinced My Family to BuyI can't express how disappointed and betrayed I feel right now. I was the one who convinced my entire extended family to invest in this app, and now we find ourselves on the receiving end of a terrible decision by the developers - switching to a subscription model.
This move has not only shattered the trust we had in this app but also strained my relationships with my family. They feel cheated, and so do I. I never anticipated that something as seemingly innocent as a video filming app could turn into a source of financial burden and friction within our family.
As Christmas approaches, I'm left with the daunting task of working extra hours to compensate for the money spent on this app. It's disheartening to think that I may have to sacrifice precious time with my loved ones just to make up for this unexpected expense.
To the developers: You've not only let down your loyal users but have also caused real harm to families like mine. I urge you to reconsider your decision and find a more user-friendly approach, one that doesn't lead to users feeling deceived and burdened. Until then, I can't recommend this app to anyone, and I deeply regret convincing my family to invest in it.
We kindly request that you provide us LOYAL customers with regular updates, especially for the log recording. Please help me mend relationships with my family by regularly updating the previous legacy app..Google you can do itVersion: 7.5.4
Join the chorus of the disappointedI used to use this app for my volunteer work at a non-profit. But switching it out to a subscription model? That’s pretty low. It could have at least been handled better with a prior release flashing this was coming forth and rename the app to something else so people would not accidentally hit update all. Or better yet, launch the subscription model as a new product. Instead, how many users just got screwed updating and locked out? And btw, the legacy app DOES NOT cut it! That build is damaged, because all of a sudden my external comica wireless mic hardware no longer works. The app freezes when it detects the comica mics, yet the mics work with any other app. Additionally, the older versions i have running on my other phone (not updated to 7.0) or ipads all work without flaw nor lock up.
Good luck with the new model. Given how poorly the transition and launch was, you definitely lost a client. I will support another development platform..IPad busterVersion: 7.0.0
Think you're paying twice?Check again. I believe we're paying three times.
I've been a long-time user of Filmic Pro, and I paid extra for all the goodies early on. That's once.
Now they've moved to a subscription model, where, if I want the same level of support and development I've enjoyed over the years to continue, I need to pay a hefty annual subscription. I'm still deciding if Filmic Pro is worth the investment over Filmic Pro Legacy. If I choose the subscription, that's twice I'm paying.
Ever since Bending Spoons acquired Filmic, their stated privacy policy and data collection policy is disturbing. They collect copious amounts of my personal information, information for which other parties will pay. And even if they don't sell it, it will still add value to their bottom line. Value that I hand them over and above the money I pay to rent the app. They collect data for the Legacy app as well. And I have no choice of whether or not I give them that information. They just take it if I use the app. That's three times I've paid.
Want to see something *really* scary? Check out the "Data Linked to You" for Bending Spoons' Splice app. I can honestly say I've never seen any app that collects so much personal data.
Am I willing to pay Bending Spoons 3 times for Filmic Pro? Am I willing to pay twice for Legacy? Are you?.JeffBDVSVersion: 7.2.1
Don’t even think about it!!I purchased this app when I started college (about four years ago) since I didn’t have a proper dedicated camera and felt this was totally worth it BACK THEN. Now they decided to throw all of us under the bus and implemented an absolute ripoff of a subscription service while maintaining a subpar app for us peasants who were dumb enough to buy the app in the first place. The minimum they should’ve done would be to grandfather all of their old buyers and keep the subscription for the new ones. But backstabbing paying customers and holding us hostage for money is just not a good look. I hope Apple stops collaborating with this company and promoting their nasty anti-consumer practices. I regret so much recommending this app to friends and peers. If I ever use the legacy version I’ll never say with what I shot it. This app would be nothing without us users who made it popular and used it for our projects in the first place, and you don’t deserve it..GabrielBermVersion: 7.1
Previously PurchasedI used to love this app. Had no problem making to full purchase years ago, but of course, people get greedy and only care about $$$ Why should I or anyone else who purchased the full app, now have to pay regularly in order to use it? Honestly, I think you owe all of us our money back. You can’t take back what we already purchased long ago and say you “I know you already bought it, but if you want to use it, pay me more or else I’ll hold it hostage”
You want to change the format to bank off of people using it beyond the original purchase fine but that means you owe everyone of us who purchased the app our money back since you took it back. You can’t take our money and take back what we bought.
I’m shocked no one has come after any of you developers through legal as of yet. Practically pulling a bait and switch. It’ll happen. Mark my words. Then y’all will end up feeling the true cost of greed..JelynnWintersVersion: 7.3.0
I was a fan until subscriptions startedI was never a fan of subscription based software. For the developers, I get it. Subscriptions provide a steadier income stream, but what I’ve found is that people get greedy and start jacking up the subscription fees. For the customers, it’s all or nothing. I’d rather pay for new feature sets released in major versions. Customers can decide if the features are worth paying for. If you have to raise prices, do so on the new version and offer discounts to existing customers. Bug fixes and security updates should be free. As it is Flimic Pro did provide a legacy version, the feature set is frozen at V6 and will likely get less attention than the current version. I will have to find another app or just work with my iPhone Camera. Very disappointed that, after paying and getting used to using it I now have to find something else to work with. I can see why existing users are angry..VerngzrVersion: 7.2.1
Bate and Switch RIP OFFI came on board Filmic Pro when it was a flat purchase for a one-time payment (US$15). It was a great app. I could even imagine making “upgrade” one-time payments for new versions. But this FIFTY DOLLAR A YEAR subscription now being imposed where you have to keep shelling out cash forever if you want to keep using the app, essentially taking away from me the lifetime license I already paid for is criminal. Fortunately the FREE Blackmagic Camera app is just as powerful and feature rich as the great-turned-RIPOFF Filmic app. BONUS: Blackmagic Camera collects NO DATA, nor does it track you. The new Filmic now not only collects outrageous subscription fees, it also collects all kinds of personal information, for example the names and info of your contacts, it tracks you, and sells your information to third parties. AVOID subscribing to Filmic, and get the powerful, feature rich, FREE Blackmagic Camera app, which DOES NOT COLLECT ANY INFORMATION, and does not track you..Disappointed Hide.Me UserVersion: 7.5.4
This was a fantastic piece of video softwareFilmic Pro was well worth the money spent. Intuitive, easy to use, and fairly priced. Unfortunately, all good things have to come to an end. The latest update was poorly implemented, and for many of us, it cost users the ability to use the software we initially paid for. I’m sorry Filmic team, but you lost customers on this one. Money is money, I get it! I would like to still be able to use your product, but a paid subscription is just out of the cards for many people, myself included. I would like to be able to use the older software (ver. 6) however, the option to download the older version through the newer software does not seem to work on my device. I hate to abandon this app, but I’ve been given no reasonable choice. I hope you guys make the money you require to keeping doing what you enjoy. Nothing gold can stayUpdate: it's now obvious why this happened. Bending Spoons bought Filmic and laid off the entire staff, including the founder. This company is predatory and has no desire to create great apps, only to bleed users of as much money as possible. Do not waste your time with this money grab. Try Blackmagic's new app instead.
Original review: I'm not anti-subscription. Subscription models make sense for numerous apps, especially where the functioning of the app requires ongoing server costs or paying for access to third party APIs (e.g. weather apps). I'd even say it's acceptable to introduce subscriptions for an app that is historically paid up front if users are also given the option to purchase a lifetime license (lifetime of the app, not lifetime of the user). But this? This is just stupid. Maybe this move will work out for you, maybe it won't, but I'll be finding an alternative and will no longer recommend Filmic to others..Clams MaloneyVersion: 7.5.6
Classic Bait&Switch to SubscriptionI bought & used FilmicPro for years and loved the control it gave (especially over white balance). However, I noticed something was up the last few months as the app requires internet access to work. Why would it need to talk to their servers before I film? Because they switched to a subscription model.
At first glance the new interface is ugly and clunky. But the bottom line is that $2.99 per week (!!!) is way too expensive for an app I use occasionally as a hobbyist. So I’m bailing and will just use the v6 (“legacy”) app until they stop supporting it and it stops working on newer iOS versions (I give it two years max).
Honestly, I’d have given a 3-star review but they way they are forcing you to download the new version, skip the subscription, go into the settings, and THEN download the old version for it to work is janky. Only then can you delete the new version. Not cool. 1 Star..Whaun.comVersion: 7.0.1
I Want My Money Back, HonestlyReviews complaining about apps moving to subscription-based models are a dime-a-dozen, and I understand why they can be necessary in our current financial climate. However, I’ve spent almost $40 on this app (between the original purchase, cinematographer’s kit, and filters), and now that’s gone with this new update. While I get a theoretical discount on the subscription, if I choose not to pay it, you flat out can’t save your videos outside the app itself.
Other apps, most relevantly Halide, have handled this correctly: when they moved to a subscription model, existing customers kept access to every current feature and simply wouldn’t get new features until they subscribed. No one loses. Here, what was once a very reliable and trusty filming companion has been rendered unusable, and I can’t bring myself to get the subscription because of this bad taste. Incredibly disappointing..PolarisInParisVersion: 7.0.0
DoubleTake and filmicpro!!!First thing first both apps when they works are fantastic HOWEVER I cannot trust that what I tell either app to record in will be what waits for me in the camera roll. 1) DoubleTake: I set to 30 FPS record rear camera as A-cam/ front as B-cam hit the red button.... go back at the end of the day to find a 3 frames per second video waiting for me. YES A WHOLE 3 FRAMES PER SECOND OUT OF 30..... a whole 10% of what I asked for. Don’t trust it. 2) filmicpro: this app does the same thing only not quit as bad usually end up with 10 FPS. Like I said when they work they work awesomely and if you have the time to check your videos immediately after you end shooting each individual section of video to verify it worked go ahead. However I cannot afford such a luxury. I cannot trust this app to save a file that matches what I told it that I wanted. I have reached out to their support and I am waiting to hear back. Downgraded to 1 star - marketing scam with update v7It is true you can continue to use the legacy version. Thank you for that. However, I have deleted the app because of your sneaky last minute notice of significant policy change at the very end of the update process. Not cool. Not cool.
I used to love this app, but v7 upgrade removes ability to save to camera roll and if you want to access your files you have to subscribe. I’m disappointed. I do appreciate the instructions on how to downgraded to filmic legacy as they are now calling it.
I would prefer a one time fee for life option. Please don’t write back with the a sob story about how you have to make money to keep developing. Seriously?!?I loved this app. Beautiful videos, cinematic quality. I bought the previous version not too long before the recent overhaul. Originally, the developers allowed the previous app buyers to use their version of the app as usual since we paid for it. But I just opened it and the app tells me I can rewatch my videos I record within the app, but now have to pay to be able to export them to my device. Are you kidding me?!? I get starting this model with new buyers (subscribers now) but doing that to the people who had previously purchased your app? Nah. I’ll find a different app whose developers give a crap about the people who have already paid and supported them. YikesLove all the advanced features. Kind of pointless how many features and effects can be applied when the app doesn’t record properly.
Spent the weekend taking multiple videos only to find out later that the video recording glitched while it kept recording audio. Then after the video finally caught up, the audio and video weren’t in sync. This was on five different videos.
The Apple Watch preview often gets stuck on the first image it loads.
Directors view function (I think that’s the name for remote screen viewing) is cool, but lags a little too much for a $30 app.
Trimming function needs works, seems to only allow for trims/cuts of larger proportion. Doesn’t allow for editing out the 1-2 seconds of me looking at my watch while initiating recording.

RipoffPaid for the app a couple of years ago. Came back to use it and now want to charge me a subscription fee. Bad faith scam. Should have continued providing service for customers that paid for your app in good faith. Zero stars for this type of business practice..CalicgiVersion: 7.4.0
Pop up non stopOpening the app leads to constant pop ups looking for you to subscribe this is after purchasing their app. The window to subscribe to their subscription service is what comes up before the app opens. I know you offer other paid subscription services but after I bought the app I just want it to open to be fully functional and not open me to a constant barrage of ads promoting your subscription services. Sorry but constantly popping up ads is not professional so you should drop the pro in your name..BraddlightingVersion: 7.4.0
Not enough for $50/monthI have used other apps that offer similar features for a one time purchase or less per month. $13 per week ($52 or more a month) seems outrageous, that’s just shy of what I pay for all 20 Adobe apps per month. Whoa..MicomikeVersion: 7.3.2
Anti-consumer Practices Ruined a Great AppPlease don’t waste your money on this.
Genuinely disgusting that you are forcing users who bought the app for full price to pay a subscription fee to export their footage, a feature that used to be included. I don’t care that you offer a discount for this, you took out a feature and are now upselling it as a “pro” feature. Any justification for this is made in bad faith and they know it, and they just don’t care..MattyBoyGVersion: 7.3.0
Another Cash GrabYet another software developer betrays its loyal clientele by switching to a subscription model. Nothing worse than a corporation trying to stick its paws permanently into your pocket. Not impressed! Can’t even use the previous version of the app I paid for!!!! Outrageous!.NewsKnightVersion: 7.2.2
Bad marketing moveI have no objection to subscription services (I use lots) And I have no objection to developers getting paid and software being upgraded ( I do paid upgrades too) BUT… what you guys have done here is just horrible. Upgrading the app to a subscription service WITHOUT any kind of warning, just disguised as a regular app upgrade is borderline criminal. If you’d made v7 a NEW app I might even have bought said subscription. Don’t bother with the whole “You can always download Legacy” crap. I shouldn’t have to DOWNLOAD AN APP I ALREADY HAVE! You guys really blew it on this one. Best of luck keeping your market share, the reviews are already tanking. I’m off to use Moment..TheRealSonseyVersion: 7.2.1
Don’t support these developersThis bait and switch business model is pretty shady. Loyal users who purchased this app for full price in the past have now been forcibly led to a monthly subscription model. To the developers: I hope this change was worth it..YEAROFTHELEE.COMVersion: 7.2.1
Loved this app. Now…not so much.I got this app and immediately loved the features. I paid for the extras which really opened up more possibilities.
Hadn’t touched Filmic for awhile and after going to use it again I find out that it now wants to charge me for accessing MY OWN FOOTAGE. A subscription plan on top of what I already paid for? Screw you and horse you wrote code on.
I am super disappointed in seeing where this app has gone. A subscription plan could work for extra features but after already paying for upgrades, a user shouldn’t have to pay weekly or yearly to have access to and download their own footage..Soul ForgottenVersion: 7.0.2
No to painful subscriptionsI bought this app a few years ago. Now you got pay monthly or yearly. By the time we pay subscription for everything we are broke. Lol. Deleting. Don’t want the legacy - old version..RedwineshirazVersion: 7.0.2
Paid for a complete app and was turned into a subscriptionThis app WAS amazing, I used to use this app for work filming videos daily. Now it’s a paid service to have access to settings I already paid for. Disappointing to see, do better..JumberlackerVersion: 7.0.2
Use to love this app but…Now I have to pay a monthly or weekly fee to get videos out of the app!
See you later guys..Acadie_undergroundVersion: 7.0.2
Do not BUYThis used to be good , and now it sucks. Look somewhere else.MarkingupVersion: 7.0.2
ScamI have purchased the app full price.
Since last update I can’t use it without subscription!!!
Shame - was also suggested by Apple!!!
Extremely disappointing!!!.Kārlis SkujiņšVersion: 7.0.2
Money hungryDissapointing move after having the app already $20..B0b_sagitVersion: 7.0.2
Scammed. If only i knew the developers were gonna change this app to a subscription model after already paying a high price for the app, I’d never buy this. This *WAS* a great app until the developers chose their financial interests over their loyal customers interest. Moving on to a new app..C-gfdhVersion: 7.0.2
GreatThe app will randomly lose audio. It works fine for a while then one day I’ll arrive at home after a shoot and discover that there’s no audio. The “video only” button is off in the audio settings also so obviously a glitch..IcehatVersion: 6.11.1
Don’t have long exposureDon’t have long exposure option for motion blur time lapse and light painting really disappointing from an app that cost 20$.DvbdbdnsjVersion: 6.11.0
I lost videos made on v6I have lost videos made on version 6 of this app when it was force to upgraded to version 7, I thought that the videos made with the app goes into the iPhone gallery but instead it stays inside the app, so when I wanted to go back to version 6, I deleted version 7 without knowing that I was deleting the videos made on version 6 as well. The developers of this app deserves bad publicity for making this horrible mistake in forcing their subscription app by force without the user consent.._TrueBlueVersion: 7.5.9

"I will never buy an app from this company again.""I purchased it a few years ago and was using it well, but they kept pushing in-app purchases. Now, if you don't subscribe, they block access to the videos I recorded. Is this even reasonable? Reflect on your actions! It's almost at the level of scamming.".Erickim75Version: 7.5.5
Worst app.I don’t even want to give this app one star. They claim to give you the legacy version if you bought it years ago but there’s a bug in it that forces it not to work so you have to end up subscribing. Waste of money..Mat14253543Version: 7.5.4
Bought this app for $15 dollars but now it looks like the app is useless without subscription! The $15 dollar worth purchase is now USELESS and now I have to either pay 3/week or 50/yr? HORRIBLE… F Filmic …I hope the greediness pays well…
Where’s the 0 star when you need it?.[ayoungsimba]Version: 7.5.3
I bought the app like a year ago…Now I can’t use it without subscribing or I can use the legacy. that’s a ripoff!.RobertGonz18Version: 7.5.3
