Overall terribleHonestly, I tend to put up with the constant incorrect orders and burnt food, but since postmates stopped reimbursing me for bad business I hate this service. The drivers are late and don’t read the instructions before hand. The original estimated time will be one thing and I’ll receive it HOURS later. That wouldn’t be an issue if they’d allow you to cancel the order, but they still figure it’s good business to charge you full price (and sometimes a cancellation fee) for THEIR drivers being late and me not being able to accept the food. I wish I could upload a picture from last experience. My food was so burnt that it was inedible. They told me it was against their policy to reimburse me, or even contact the restaurant for an unburnt item, which uber eats most definitely would have done. Sadly I now live too far to use their service because I definitely wouldn’t deal with Postmates otherwise. The time before that one of their drivers seemed to be under the influence and after an hour of circling my neighborhood “lost” she arrived crying and yelling at me saying that uber doesn’t pay her enough and calling me disrespectful because I asked that she call me after 30 minutes of being lost. I have screenshots of the texts she sent me before she arrived and after too. That was also something they did nothing about. Bad customer serviceI’ve had several issues with Postmates. Two in the last week alone. A week ago I placed a order. The driver contacted me and told me the restaurant I ordered from had ran out of the item I had ordered. I asked him to cancel the order since I didn’t want anything else from this particular restaurant. He said he had canceled the order. I chose to order food from a different delivery service. After I ordered from a different delivery service, a different postmates driver showed up with the order I had canceled. I emailed customer service and after going round and round with them, they finally refunded my money. Thought maybe that was a isolated incident and I’d give them another chance. I did after all sign up for their unlimited service that costs $95 a year. . I place a order today. I got a notification that it was picked up and on the way. I got another notification saying my order had arrived. Went outside only to see the driver drive right past me. I used the tracker on the app. She drove all the way across town and almost back to the restaurant she started at. I finally got my food about 40 minutes after I had received the notification that my food had arrived. By the time my food arrived it was cold and not worth eating. Waste of money. I emailed customer service and explained what happened. Their response was less than helpful. I canceled my unlimited membership and will never use this app again. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICEBUYER BEWARE! Pray you never have any issues with your account or orders-the only form of communication you’ll receive is via email with an off-shore team that fails to address the issues or provide any resolutions! I’ve raved about Postmates and have been a loyal, frequent customer-and if it were up to me, I would NEVER use them again.
Their app wasn’t working with my last order-it kept crashing. Not only did I end up having to call the restaurant to resolve the issues with my order, but I was also overcharged by Postmates (expected total was $30 less than what they ended up charging me!). But my biggest complaint wasn’t even that-it was the $83 charge I discovered on my bank account yesterday. During my last order when the app was crashing, I had attempted to sign up for a “FREE” trial of unlimited deliveries, but turns out they decided to skip the free trial and sign me up for the annual service. I have attempted to work with their customer service representatives (all via their terrible messaging service bc they refuse to speak with their customers) and have been told that there’s nothing they can do to rectify these issues for a loyal customer. Issues that were caused by their faulty application and by their deceitful, misrepresented “fees”.
After reading other reviews on the App Store and on google, it appears I’m not alone in my experience with Postmates.

Postmates got me fatThe worst thing about Postmates is when they send a really cute girl to deliver your food. You receive a sweet personalized pre delivery text from her, in which she awkwardly misspells “almost they’re”, yet captivating your heart as she ends it with a “;-D”. You burst into tears of joy, a joy you only felt when you had your first kiss. You have purpose again! As you scramble to not make it look like you’ve been in bed all day watching re runs of Boy Meets World, you are alerted to her arrival. You race out the door, no time for shoes, blinded by pure love to the fact that you are only wearing boxer briefs and your mother’s pink bath robe. She pulls up to the driveway...of your neighbors house, three houses down. You both lock eyes, time stands still... “So this is what love at first sight feels like?” you scream with creepy eagerness. “Uh, no, I’m with Postmates, this is your Denny’s order. Oh, and they didn’t have the chocolate milkshake or cheesecake that you ordered so they gave you a dinner salad and extra napkins...enjoy...a bye bye ;-D” she says as you silently have a level 5 nuclear meltdown inside your head due to the FACT THAT THE MILKSHAKE AND CHEESECAKE WAS THE ONLY REASON YOU EVEN ORDERED FROM DENNY’S IN THE FIRST PLACE!! “Ha ha, no problem” you stutter as sweat pours down your forehead. Don’t make a mistake on your order!Be sure not to make a mistake on your order or choose the wrong payment method. I ordered food for a sleepover my son was having and needed to make a change to the payment method I used. Couldn’t find any way to do it. So I cancelled the order, literally 1 minute after submitting it. I received a message saying due to the inconvenience I was still going to be billed. I contacted customer service to explain I still wanted the food I just needed to change the payment method. She said I needed to click on the receipt for my order. However, I cancelled the order so soon after my order was made there was no receipt. I explained that since I was being charged anyway I still wanted the food. She then said other then placing another order, there was nothing she could do for me. What!?! What happened to the food the restaurant had already “prepared” and was being charged for?!? Wasn’t that the reason they gave me for not being able to cancel the order in the first place?!? She did say she would escalate the matter with a “service specialist” but that person didn’t contact me until 24 hours later. I NEVER get what I orderedTwice I have used the app to order food. Both times, my delivery was incorrect. The first time, the drink was visibly incorrect as it was a fountain drink vs a freeze, also a taco, and nachos were missing. Major fail on the entire order, and it should have been simple. It wasn’t that large, because I was charged a small order fee that was not refunded. I was using a promotional free delivery so at least I didn’t pay for that. I received a credit, not my money back and I don’t believe it was for the entire amount of missing items, I was so exhausted with the constant changing in rep replies, I just let it go. Attempt 2, an entire meal was missing from the order, and the quesadilla was burnt so bad, it was inedible. Is this their fault, no, but Taco Bell had I paid them directly would have replaced it. They credited me .59 cents for that, I have no idea where they got that amount. They refunded the missing meal, but I went to bed without dinner, I was exhausted and starving! This time I paid a delivery fee that they refuse to refund. The thing is, I paid for delivery of items you failed to deliver. Therefore the paid service was not rendered. Wrong so oftenI just went through and counted - I’ve used Postmates to order food 20 times over the last 1.5 years, and 5 of those orders were wrong or I never got the food and had to order again. So 25% of the time, this service is infuriating. It happens so often, when you get the wrong food and complain, they don’t even talk to you - they just give you your money back automatically. So if you want your food you have to order again and wait again. BUT it is the only way to get food from some restaurants we want delivered - like when my wife and I want chipotle delivered during the pandemic and we’re busy with work and a screaming 1 year old.
Other than that...the app itself works great and is easy enough to navigate and use. But a bad experience 25% of the time inevitably means 1 star. Our order never showed yesterday, but told me it was delivered - and my wife was just like, “why do we use this app again???”
Update: ordered again after writing this review, and it was wrong again. So 6 out of 21 times = ~30% of the time the order is wrong. To be clear, it’s almost never the restaurant’s fault. Switching food delivery service ASAPIf you are looking to try a new food delivery service DO NOT go with postmates. I ordered from a restaurant and decided to go with pickup, trusting the restaurant would give me all of my items I ordered I got home and realized I was missing an item that was $10. I immediately went on postmates and tried to report the issue- they said I had to call the merchant and they had to be ones who file this issue since I had picked it up (fair enough) so I did, the merchant then stated they had called postmates and let them know and Would be getting my $10 refund back. Fast forward to the following day I noticed not only had my total not been fixed I had an additional email from postmates with an ADDITIONAL mysterious charge of $10 to my account- so now we’re $20 over my total. I emailed postmates letting them know of this issue and absolutely NO ONE has helped or answered any of my questions especially about the mysterious $10 charge. Now they have stopped responding back to my emails and never got not only my $10 but $20 refund they OWE me. They have absolutely no recourse when things go slightly wrongI’m not rating one star only because I’ve used the app many times and had many good deliveries, but I’m rating two stars because their customer service is atrocious and the application gets stuck trying to make you accept payment and tip even when food was not delivered.
I placed an order, accidentally to the wrong address (I had previously ordered to the hospital nearby when I was sick and it remembered the address), and when I noticed order was about to be delivered I called driver to tell them about issue. Driver mentioned that they couldn’t change the address or they would get in trouble with company. I offered I could drive to them and pick up because it is nearby (3-5 mins away, when we had been waiting for food delivery for 40 minutes) but driver marked order as delivered. At that point I tried messaging driver through app to arrange me picking up food or anything but app reported messages were not delivered so I could not get a hold of driver anymore.
Application entered a state where I could not do anything except accept payment plus optional tip for a delivery that hadn’t happened, or report an issue. Even after I reported issue of non delivery, application remained stuck. I would have been willing to reorder and accept another 40 minute wait, but that was not an option, and there is no option to contact service for support through app or website.
Anyway. A good service would respond well not just when everything goes smoothly but also be reasonable when things go wrong, to help remedy situation in a timely manner without forcing payment for non-delivered goods..Eddy EscardoVersion: 5.1.14
Today was GREAT but last time was NOTThis is the second time I’ve ordered through Postmates. The first time was several weeks ago. The app said my order was delivered but it wasn’t delivered to ME so I’m not sure who they left it with. I could not reach a human on the phone to get it sorted out. I am blind and having to do everything online takes me four times longer than a sighted person. By the time I went through all of the text and email protocols, everyone was closed and I was unable to get food that night. When I got to the door there was no food and I spent the evening hungry. I was given a credit for the mix up but I could not find it tonight when I ordered again. I was hesitant to use Postmates again but since I already had the app open looking for my credit Iwent ahead and ordered my food and figured I would give them a chance. Will take your money unwillingly!!!!So I decided to try postmates because what I’ve been hearing about it and I ordered from Shake Shack. That went well. Then I ordered from Mc Donald’s. I didn’t get my orange juice and still was charged as if I received my drink and then the email will tell me after they “claim” to give me my money back saying “After looking into the order again, I wanted to let you know that we are not able to take any further action.” I was like really? But I didn’t sweat it and I ordered again today from Rally’s. 2 meals 2 shakes and a chili cheese fry. So I get my order it’s more than I ordered for and my total was 32 dollars and they charged me 50 dollars! They tried to give me 8 dollars back and I said you owe 18 dollars and here was that message again “After looking into the order again, I wanted to let you know that we are not able to take any further action.” They are a scam. You can’t even call the number that’s online and I’m just stuck. I guess I have to dispute it since they were not able to give me all my money back.

Messed up my order and the refund for my missing itemsI used to love postmates but after my last experience I’ll never use it again. First of all I had ordered a side along with my entree, clearly the driver didn’t check to make sure my order was correct before leaving the restaurant because as soon as I got inside to check it myself, I noticed the side I had ordered which was $7.50 I might add, was not in the bag. No big deal, as long as I was able to get refunded I didn’t mind. I went and sent an email explaining what had happened immediately after I noticed. Fast forward to a few hours later and there I was, violently throwing up the food I had ordered... I had food poisoning (yes I know, that’s not postmates fault). However I proceeded to email postmates again to see if it were possible to get a full refund from the restaurant because I had gotten horribly sick from my only half eaten food. They responded today saying they were going to refund me the cost of the missing items (okay.. that’s fine) however the woman who had emailed me said the amount they were to refund me was going to be $7.12 which would “cover the cost of the missing item and any taxes and fees”... I’m definitely not a mathematician by any means but I’m 100% sure that their math was off. Yeah okay, it’s only $0.38 off but how can you claim to have resolved this by issuing a short changed refund and then also claim that the amount given back to me included the taxes and fees, when it in fact didn’t even include the full cost of the actual item? Very disappointing.I have been using this app for more than 2 years. I pay a monthly subscription for unlimited. All went well until today my postmate did not get me my food.
The app shows the food is still waiting to be picked up at 8:24. The restaurant takes at least a 15-min drive and the traffic ain’t light on a Saturday night like this. I thought this might be another delay. I decided to check it again later. The next thing is that the driver miraculously showed up at my doorstep and then he left, without a phone call, with my food.
Fix your app please. I don’t even care if you charge me for the food because the driver might have waited for more than 5 minutes( and sure, sitting in the car for 5 long minutes without calling to check might be the normal procedure for postmate). You can’t push “your postmate is 5 mins away”, “your postmate is arriving soon” and “your postmate is outside” at the same time. Those pushes are designed to let users like me to know when to pick up the delivery, and pushing those at the same time is not helpful. There is nothing to “ fix”, my bank took care of the “ punishment charge”; (I’m being very kind with that description). It’s okSo my first time using this food delivery app. I like the amount of options (it’s the only one so far, that I’ve seen, that has Starbucks.) the biggest downfall of this app is the “unavailable” that appears whenever there is no PostMates delivery person nearby. This actually happens a lot, especially with Starbucks (which is a big deal for me since that’s like my number one go to place.) it has also happened with Subway (I ended up ordering my food from DoorDash.) its just really annoying and inconvenient. It does tend to limit your options by having that feature. There are some good things about the app, it’s easy to use and sometimes it’s pretty cheap compared to DoorDash. Although I honestly don’t think I’ll ever order Starbucks from this app ($24 for two drinks! No thank you.) The other plus is the people who work for PostMates, very nice and fast. Got my order right and knew exactly where I was located (which is a big deal since people tend to get lost trying to find my place.) one other thing that was a bit annoying is the “tip.” I tipped my driver in cash upon arrival. The app refused to close the “tip” menu until I entered some sort of number (I just typed $0.00) I literally tried on several occasions to get the darn tip menu to go away! Even uninstalled the app, still would not let me close it until I entered the $0.00. Maybe add a “tipped in person” or something like that so I’m not forced to give a tip through the app. All in all I think PostMates is ok.. Usually greatI use Postmates at least once a week on average and subscribe and ALWAYS tip drivers 20% plus and usually add Cash too just cause I know how hard this world is! But IM still very upset that about a month ago I ordered a pizza when I was out of town ( I have my location setting set to while using app because I don’t see the purpose of a delivery app knowing my exact location every minute of every day) when I got home LATE and exhausted from traveling I ordered supper and it was sent to a popular chain but in my previous location, I immediately received a notification that I was FAR from the delivery address and I canceled the order ( but was still billed) then reordered the exact same order from correct location and it was also Canceled!!! Postmates is unreliableThis is a review of Postmates itself, not the app. I ordered from a local Italian restaurant via Postmates and received all parts of the order, except for the pizza. I immediately called the restaurant, because there was no way to contact the Postmates driver who dropped off the food. When I spoke to the restaurant, and the pizza was ready and sitting with the rest of the food to be picked up, but the Postmates driver did not pick it up. He apparently did not check the contents of the order. It’s pretty obvious if a pizza is missing from a bag of food. When I spoke to Postmates, the representative was incredibly unhelpful in trying to resolve this matter and stated that the only way to obtain the pizza that was sitting, ready at the restaurant was to request a refund and re-order the same pizza, so a new driver could be dispatched. This is unacceptable. If it is the driver’s fault that the order was missing, he should be responsible for picking up what he left behind. Furthermore, a subsequent order would have taken significantly longer. I have spoken with the restaurant, and they use an alternative delivery service, so I will not be using Postmates again. Terrible DriversOn more than one account I’ve had drivers not deliver my food and this is after I have left thorough instructions to enter through the main/front lobby of my apartment complex or that they could even drive through the gate and enter a door around the back of the apartment building. I also tell them to call/text if they have any issues getting in. I monitor the drivers arrival to see when then have arrived and if I see them in the same position for a couple minutes I ask them if they need me to come down to get my food. I even send a text once I see them on their way to reiterate what’s already under my Postmates delivery instruction notes to make sure I get my order and drivers will either answer or choose to not answer my text and never attempt to deliver. No call or text, nothing. Then I message Postmates under their help section and get an email they can’t do anything. Like what ??? So then I having to call Postmates to get my money back of which women Postmates customer service reps are not helpful and will just reiterate what Postmates emailed me while some actually will go out there way to make sure I get my refund because they can clearly see the driver never called or text me once to get my order to me. This is terrible. We need to be able to rate drivers better for the lack of doing their job. I honestly feel some drivers just want to steal your food because its free food for them however they need to be reprimanded for this type of thing especially if they are not even attempting to make an effort to get your order to you. Poor customer serviceI am someone that uses food delivery apps constantly and order pretty much two meals a day, every day for years. I own most of the apps. Seamless, Uber eats, Caviar, etc. I like to use all the apps because different ones will have different deals all the time. For some reason I often have issues getting my order on Postmates...the driver goes to the restaurant and the restaurant never received the order from Postmates. Misc issues like this. But none of this is what bothers me, because issues happen in life. What is most frustrating is the customer service. Even before the Corona Times, it was difficult to reach customer service. And now, just forget it. Even that I can tolerate as long as I am refunded eventually. But here is my biggest gripe. Other apps, like Seamless, if you wait 1-2 hours for an order and it is cancelled (so u then need to start all over again and wait ANOTHER hour for the new order) the company will not JUST refund you. They will of course refund you for what u didn’t receive and they will provide some sort of credit for the ridiculous experience you just had. Good service, annoying featuresI’ve been using Postmates for about two years now. I’m a college student in a big city, and I don’t have a car, so having food delivered late at night is essential. Postmates is a good app for that — the design is clean, the menus are well organized, and the $10 premium subscription isn’t a bad deal if you use it as often as I do.
That said, Postmates has a lot of glitches that have made me switch over to other delivery services. Routinely, my order gets declined despite having sufficient funds in the account (and my card is charged TWICE), and customer service just tells me to wait 5-7 business days for the charges to fall off. In the mean time, if I only had $60 in my bank account (again, poor college kid here) then I’m out of money for a week. Tonight, I ordered from a restaurant that canceled just a few minutes later. Got a notification from Postmates that said I wouldn’t be charged, but what they really meant was “you’ll be charged, but then the charges will fall off in 5-7 business days”. Please find a better business model that doesn’t include overcharging/double charging/holding funds from paying customers.
Another issue I had with the app is that there’s no way to rate the driver and the food/restaurant separately. Sometimes the restaurant gets my order wrong, items are missing, food isn’t good, etc but I can’t share what was wrong with my order without giving my delivery driver 3 stars or lower for something they had nothing to do with..PhilosapphicVersion: 4.0.11
Terrible Customer support - app changes your payment method without consentSince postmates was taken over by Uber I have had several problems, none of which has been satisfactorily resolved. The latest is that although I selected Apple Pay as my payment method, postmates instead charged a debit card that was on file as an alternate payment method, without my authorization. I tried to change my payment method back to Apple Pay, and repeatedly received an error message saying they were unable to complete my request. I contacted support and received replies that said “when you select apply pay, postmates can only charge the card associated with your Apple Pay account” which….. is what I wanted postmates to do and which in fact they did not do. They charged a debit card they had on file, NOT Apple Pay. After receiving the same copy-paste support response for two days now, I am sure it is past the window of opportunity to change my payment method to the method I originally selected. There is no phone number to contact someone and the email support team obviously either did not read my responses or did not understand them. I removed the debit card that was charged without my authorization and am no longer using Postmates. I am leaving this review in the hopes that 1)others will be aware that Postmates arbitrarily changes your selected payment method and 2) maybe I will get a coherent response to my issue, since the support avenues provided haven’t given me that..BunnylarooVersion: 6.68.10002

They’ve changed things (UPDATE 5/23)This company is unprofessional. After leaving this review, my account was suspended. There’s zero contact information for a customer service line. They have to come to you. You can’t just call them, which is ridiculous. So upon doing so, they get back in about 20-30 minutes saying my account was flagged for suspicious activity and cannot be reinstated at this time. They didn’t tell me why it was suspended (what suspicious activity was apparently being done) nor why they couldn’t fix it. This is ridiculous.
You get less options and selections upon ordering. Take for example, if you order from QDoba, you should have options to add into your order because it’s all custom. You should be able to select what kind of beans, tortilla, meat, rice, etc. you don’t even get half of the options you would get in store and that doesn’t make sense. You don’t actually get to customize anything how you want it, and there’s multiple restaurants with this error. There’s no space to “add additional information” either for a sauce or something you know they have in store, but isn’t being listed as an option here. Also, the app works until you actually place your order. Then it shuts down and kicks you out of it completely to where you can’t follow the order or get in contact with someone, should you need to. They charged us full price and didn’t get it andMy family ordered food from Boston market and we ordered a large side of Mac and cheese fries and cornbread on top of the meal and we payed extra for all that and they charged us how much we were supposed to pay but then when it came we never got the extra large size of Mac and cheese fries and cornbread so be basically got a 1 person meal when it was supposed to feed 3 and we never got the money back or the food.

Done with this appI am so done with this app, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get ahold of an actual person. This is NOT the first time that I have paid the $2.99 extra for priority service just for it to be received as standard service. Then there is literally no way to let anyone know this to get the $2.99 back. I’m now remembering why I quit using this app years ago, when I had two orders with something missing (a STANDARD with Postmates orders, I ignore it unless it’s something really big because it’s not worth the hassle of trying to deal with this impossible brand.) and they sent me a notification that my account was flagged for having missing items twice in a row. I HATE the app and the delivery people. They steal your food !!I had this girl named Jessica in Hemet CA that was my delivery person and she was straight being weird from the very beginning when I noticed she had my order because she was driving around so much and never got to my place next thing you know I got a notification saying she “delivered” my order when she never did I tried to contact her but this stupid app doesn’t give no option to contact the dp at all whatsoever only when they’re picking up your order. I want to find this girl Jessica’s number to contact that B and tell her off it was a $100 order and she stole my food. I even have TWO rings cameras located in different spots in front of my house so I know for a fact she didn’t deliver my food at all she wasn’t even near my place when she supposedly “delivered” my food because I was watching her drive in the app the whole time she had my order and then all of a sudden the app kicked me off the map thing and that’s when I got the notification saying she delivered it. Late or Wrong Deliveries Without Refund, OftenI obviously love the idea of this service especially during a pandemic, but the customer service is really lacking and unhelpful. I order Postmates probably once or twice a week and would say about twice a month I get an order that is totally wrong, cold, or missing a key item. Postmates does this really annoying thing where they allow drivers to take multiple orders at a time, and sometimes your food is already ready at the restaurant however you’re not first in the drivers queue so they are stuck waiting for ANOTHER customer’s food to be ready before they can even pick it up THEN deliver to them, THEN pick yours up and deliver to you. I’ve had burgers and shakes from less than a mile away arrive stone cold and melted (respectively) because of this very feature. Meanwhile when contacting Postmates representatives about it they send you an obviously copied and pasted generic message of apology and if you’re LUCKY they send you a PARTIAL refund, but more often than not you’re either left without a response from their team or told that there’s nothing they can do because the issue was the fault of the restaurant. I know I sound like one of those people who always finds something to complain about but this is honestly the first negative review I’ve written for a business, I’ve just been left frustrated and unaccommodated for too long now. Absolutely horribleIf i could rate them less I would. First things first, customer service is horrible. They will often have you waiting HOURS for emails and place you on long holds when you call them. The few times i have used them my order was wrong or items were missing and when i would contact them they would only give a partial refund and soon nothing saying ‘they have looked on my account and i have requested too many refunds’ like it was MY fault the order kept being wrong. The last straw was today. I ordered apple bees for my mother and 2 kids. I was going to meet the driver at the door so i looked on my ring doorbell to know when they were close to the door and to my shock i saw the drivers hands in my food. I could not tell what they were doing but they were in the bag for 10-20 seconds. With covid-19 going around i took absolutely no chances and threw it away and emailed postmates, tellimg then what happened. This happened around 11 am and it is currently almost 6 pm. They are trying to get out of paying me the refund and asking to see the video. As you guys can tell I absolutely do not trust postmates and refused to give then the video outright. If this is not resolved soon i am seriously thinking about contacting my lawyer and posting the video online so they can see it along with the rest of the world. Slow Delivery, Hidden PricesThere’s very little to be said for Postmates other than the fact that it does indeed work. Today I placed an order with a $21 subtotal and ended up paying $37–courtesy in part of the unreasonably high $6 delivery charge, yes, but that can be somewhat ignored given the frequency of “free delivery” promotions. The majority of the extra charge came from the vague “taxes and fees” section that for whatever reason came out to $8. Clicking the “i” button next to said section returns a dialog box that doesn’t actually tell you what the charge is, save referring to it as a “service fee.” I’m interested to hear what service that is, given that I’m already paying Postmates six dollars for delivery and they don’t really do anything else. Moreover, the delivery process itself is often poorly organized.
Placing an order brings you to a screen detailing that your order is “being prepared.” This lasts a reasonable amount of time—about six minutes for a fast food restaurant, so around what you’d expect for food prep. Next comes a screen entitled “your order is being picked up,” which, for some elusive reason, always takes around 40 minutes. Finally, delivery, which marks the one good thing I’ll say for Postmates: The ability to track your food as it makes its way to you is fantastic. The app then essentially demands a further tip of 15%, which i’d be happy to give had I not just paid about 14 dollars in extra costs.

Third try was not a charm.This app is completely bonkers. I just arrived at my hotel after a long drive and needed something to eat desperately. My first attempt to order was accepted and showed it was being prepared. About 5 mins later with a vague “restaurant closed” message my order is cancelled. That’s Awesome, because the restaurant was open, and you said they received the order and began preparing it. Did they run out of a vegetable fried rice? more time wasted and a first round of multiple credit card charges and authorizations. Second order goes through and now hunger has turned to pain has turned to oh no I fell asleep waiting for this joker to say he delivered my order to my door when he snaps a picture of him holding it who knows where, but it most certainly is not at my hotel door, I show no missed calls or messages, and yup, I’ve been fully charged for this foolishness. It’s not even worth the keystrokes or your time at how bad the subsequent order went, or how overly complicated they make billing with multiple required authorizations and transactions for a single order. Disastrous appCan’t even begin to describe how angry I am after not getting what I ordered AND being robbed by hidden service fee! Tried to order food but the menu was from a completely different place. Then I went with my second choice and they had the menu for a different location which led to a phone call from the driver telling me 90% of what I ordered wasn’t available. Now my actual total is completely different from what I actually ordered. Horrible ServiceThe service is absolutely horrible for the cost. I don’t mind paying additional for priority service, but I expect the food to be delivered once its ready so that I can actually enjoy it. Granted, its never going to be as fresh or good as getting it right from the restaurant, but when the customer service doesn’t stand behind its service then its time to call it quits. Delivery times are just getting longer, and priority really means nothing. I had a driver text me saying I have your order, but I’m waiting on more to be ready before driving out, so its going to be longer before I actually starting heading to you. So guess what guaranteed cold food. You have to hope the order is right to begin with, because burnt, swapped, or just plain wrong items is fairly common. Don’t use postmates unless you want excess charges.This last time I used PM they charged me $60 for two meals which the total didn’t come anywhere near that amount! The food was barely thirty if that, then I was charged $12 in fees, and another $7 in delivery fees for a restaurant not a mile from my house! When i got my order there were two meals in it of what I ordered, rather than what I requested. My mom wanted rice, beans, chips and pico for dinner. She got the chips and pico... that’s it. They also charged me an additional $15 two days later! That brings this order up to $80! I sent in an order issue request and they said they couldn’t do anything about it! My health is horrible so my family frequently uses GH, postmates, and UberEats every month if I don’t feel up to cooking. They get a significant portion of my family’s income, but they couldn’t correct the issue? They wouldn’t even give me money back for ALL the stuff that was missing.
This isn’t the first time this has happened; on average postmates gets our orders wrong about 70% of the time! Then I usually have someone throwing a tantrum and I have to try to get it fixed. Usually, on average I only get a few bucks back. Typically less than half the cost of whatever was wrong.

Been burned twice, in multiple cities!I have ordered from this service twice in four years. The first time was in Washington DC, I ordered a pizza and a few drinks from a local restaurant around the corner from where I was staying with my family. The initial delivery estimate was around an hour, which I was expecting and fine with. After about an hour and a half with no communication, I tried contacting customer support and noticed that the driver had changed on the app. When they got back in touch, I was told that the driver could not find parking and gave up with no word to me, a paying customer. The order was cancelled without my knowledge. The second, AND LAST, time was tonight, four years later. In Birmingham, Alabama I decided to give the service a second chance, think the city is much smaller and surely it wouldn’t let me down this time. After about again I was anticipating an hour wait time, as displayed on the app after I placed my order. About 45 minutes after I placed the order, I wanted to check on it just to see the progress and noticed that the driver had switched and the order would be delayed. I checked again after another thirty or so minutes and again my order was cancelled without trying to remedy the situation or any notice from the company. Checking back in the app it notified me that my order of $100+ dollars would be refunded in CREDIT to be used only for the ATROCIOUS company. wasn’t happy with how one thing after another happened.. the restaurant couldn’t give my food to the Postmates delivery person, and so the restaurant talked called Postmates said it was the drivers fault and then had to make my food over again and had to wait another 30 min for my order. I was supposed to get my food at 2:06 didn’t get it until 2:40. The driver was very nice.. but the fact that Postmates and the restaurant gave me a hard time about everything makes me not go back to them for ordering food. They had a coupon sent to my email said free shipping on all orders until the 8th.. so I went ahead and did that later to find out it says 2 dollar for service fee and taxes and after I got charged it went up to 6 dollars! What is the point saying you have free shipping if you are going to charger for a service fee! There honestly doesn’t need to be a service fee just taxes that’s it. On top of that instead of paying 19 dollars I was charged 31, i even called Postmates and he didn’t understand where I was coming from. how do you go from 19 dollars to 31 that’s plain ridiculous. DO NOT USE POSTMATESAs a person that has been using other food delivery apps for a while I was expecting so much from Postmates. The first time I used it and item was missing and the driver did not care to clarify it with me. I thought they were inexperienced, so I let it slide. The second time I ordered the driver called and asked to repeat my order, which I did. I repeated it 3 times as to make sure they got it right. When I received my order there was a full meal missing. We were very disappointed because a person of my household had to go without their favorite food. I thought to myself “well, third times the charm”. I placed a small order, the driver called me letting me know about the “system being down” at X place, so they will comp me with a drink. My order already had a drink so I thought “wow, two drinks!”. When the driver came my order was incomplete, had an item missing which he did not mention via the phone call. And they never comped me and never gave me that “free” drink. And my food was the worst quality it has every been.
I don’t know how Postmates gets their drivers, but they are fully incompetent where I live. They don’t have the decency to call when an item is not available and let the buyer know beforehand. I have never had this issue with other delivery services before I used Postmates. I’ll stick with the other ones.

Great service when it worksI appreciate a delivery service when I can’t make it out or just simply want to take the occasional day off. I have had some good experiences with Postmates but more poor experiences. Sometimes it’s Postmates and sometimes it’s the restaurant not getting the order right or the driver doesn’t check the order.
One time I ordered with a friend and the food sat for about three hours (wait time was supposed to be 20-25 min). We just watched the car sit there and sit there and sit there. We called the restaurant and they said it had been ready and waiting for a long time. They called again stating they were going to be closing soon. We attempted to cancel So we could reorder somewhere else and couldn’t. We attempted to contact Postmates (which I feel they make intentionally difficult) with no resolution. The driver picked it up right before they closed and the food was terrible and totally cold once it was delivered. We attempted to resolve it with Postmates and Postmates simply said “no, you’re responsible for paying for the food and the fees” that was three hours later than estimated, well outside of the wait time, and even though the food was terrible as a result of their negligence. It was pretty disappointing.
I have used the service now pretty limitedly and did not continue after the trial membership. I simply won’t pay for that type of unreliable and unaccountable service. No LoyaltyI work in DTLA. Parking is difficult to find but you can a place to park for delivery. I use Postmates to order my food. Recently I ordered soup that was not delivered. I sent three reports through the app and when I did not receive a response, two days later I sent a fourth request through the app. I then get a message that since it has been two days since I placed my order and this is the first time I reported it that I would not receive a refund. My response to that was that I will no longer use Postmates. This is the third or fourth time that my food has not been delivered. On prior occasions the driver didn’t even attempt to bring the food to my office. When they couldn’t find parking and couldn’t reach me on my cell phone, they simply marked it as delivered and took off with my food. Hope they enjoyed the free lunch! When I pay for delivery I would like my food delivered to my office not to the door of the building with the driver calling to tell me that my food is here and come and get it. Disappointed to say the least. I will now be giving my business to Grubhub or Doordash. Worst possible food delivery serviceIve been using postmates for a little over nine years. It wasn't until the last year or so that this app became extremely unreliable and little to no use. Last month i placed an order and didn't realize the place i ordered from was too far. I tried to cancel it immediately but postmates said that i couldn't cancel it without paying a $30 fee since the order was already made. How could the order have been made when i placed it mere seconds before? I was forced to wait far too long for my order to arrive and my food was cold and mushy by the time it arrived. I let go of that issue as it was my mistake that I ordered from somewhere too far away. But today I ordered a pizza, and my delivery driver never delivered it despite the app saying it was delivered. There was no photo of my order being dropped off and no notification from the driver that it was dropped off. He clearly stole my order. I wanted a refund but my only options were to refund into credit on my account or to wait 10 business days for my debit card to be refunded. This is absolutely unacceptable. Im now forced to use the app yet again, just to get my money's worth, and I've already waited long enough for my order. I strongly encourage anyone reading this to use any other app available, as postmates is unreliable, hires drivers that will steal your order, and isn't helpful in resolving your issues. SCAMThis app is awful at this point I don’t trust it at all. I’ve had numerous issues and the wild thing is I’ve NEVER EVER RECEIVED ANY FOOD THROUGH THE APP. The first time I tried making an order it turned out the location was closed due to Covid but I never received my refund back. It’s very difficult to get in contact with customer service for assistance and the people they do have working for them don’t know what they’re doing. They told me to wait 3-7 business days for my money back and I waited well over that time period and I emailed back. After that they told me the EXACT SAME THING. They told me there was no way to assist me besides for me to keep waiting and the 7 days was well overdue. They told me wait more days. I don’t ever use this account and I never used it again after that but for some reason I had a recurring charge of 9.99. I downloaded the app again to see why I was getting charged and it was for something that I don’t even remember but I shut it off and ended the subscription and deleted the app again. Dinner Never Arrived And Customer Service Will Not Refund!Customer support with Postmates has never been stellar. So I have just cancelled my Postmates Unlimited membership. Fed up after reaching out to them 3 times tonight about my dinner that I never received. After I contacted Postmates about non delivery, I received an email from Max who has helped me several times before. Apparently, tonight Max said after "reviewing my account, he was unable to offer me a refund or credit for my order." And I just received a similar response from Shelby after reaching out again. And another from Ezra as well. I am finally done with this company.
To be fair, I have received credits or the option for a refund before from Postmates. I always take the credit (and sometimes it’s like $2, for example, the restaurant forgot my extra cheese. ) But as a customer, I pay a huge amount of money to use Postmates! I order frequently, like 5-7 days a week ( in normal, non COVID 19 times.) I am an art teacher of 200 students a day with a 3 hour commute so food delivery is essential. Service fees and a tip and a monthly membership are not inexpensive. Figure $10 an order. That’s $10 an order on top of a $12 to $20 meal. And when there is a problem, you always have to work way too hard to get the service you should receive.

Terrible ServiceI placed an order to receive a home wrecker burrito at Moes. When I finally get my order it was wrong. I figured no big deal I’ll contact Postmates. Which I might add is terrible that is only through email and they take forever to reply. I tell them in the email my order was wrong and I even have the wrong receipt. They reply back and said everything I ordered is what I got. I’m looking at the plate they gave me and it’s definitely not the burrito I ordered but someone else’s food which I might add wasn’t even complete because they ordered a meal that was suppose to even come with a drink I didn’t even get. I even took proof of the receipt and the meal I got which definitely doesn’t coincide with what I ordered on the app. I reply back to them and they still investigated again and said again what I ordered is what I got. How the hell you going to tell me the burrito I ordered is what I got, when your not even here in my house looking at the plate I have. Long story short they gave me a credit for the issue. I don’t really care about the food. Food is food. But what really bothers me is that fact that they kept telling me what I ordered is what I got and the person who was suppose to get this meal I’m sure got mines or someone else’s. Its the principle what matters. If that’s how this company conducts business than they shouldn’t be running this business. Very unprofessional. Good app, AWFUL CUSTOMER SUPPORT.I don’t write reviews usually but I’m just warning y’all and low key trying to get this company’s attention so it will stop scamming me and other people. Postmates was my favorite and the only food delivery app I used for years. During the pandemic I signed up for Postmates Unlimited. When Uber and Postmates merged, NOTHING transferred over and I couldn’t even get into my own account. It kept logging me into a random Uber/Postmates account with no information. When I logged into my old Uber account on the Uber app (I wasn’t using Uber anymore so I had to redownload the app) using the same number and email I used for both Uber and Postmates, then logged in on Postmates, it basically created a new account with nothing on it asking me to sign up for Postmates Unlimited while I’m STILL BEING CHARGED for Postmates Unlimited.
As far as customer support…They make it impossible to contact them by phone and only allow for an email option. Ive sent multiple emails about it over the last few months and haven’t heard NOT ONE THING back from them. So I’ve had to call my bank see if they can block the charge and/or cancel my card and go through all this unnecessary crap so I won’t get charged monthly for something I CANT have. Moral of the story, just use another food delivery app. Like I said, the app itself is great, haven’t had many problems with delivery only tiny mishaps that I can forgive, but when there’s an account issue, you’re out of luck with this company and that’s not right. Never using Postmates againI have had multiple cases of my orders being marked as delivered when they aren’t actually being dropped off to me. Customer service responses are so generic like they are just cut and paste for every single issue. I once had an order take over an hour and a half before being picked up and so I cancelled it since the food would have been cold anyway and Postmates told me that they were still going to charge me because the driver picked it up and was in route to my house even though it was an hour after the estimated delivery time. I never once got an update that the order was going to be late. I called the restaurant and they informed me that my food had been sitting there the entire time waiting for a courier.
Other times, the app allowed me to order from restaurants that were closed and my order just sat there until I had to manually cancel. I have witnessed drivers slowed down outside my house, mark the items as delivered and drove off without bringing anything to the door. I had a restaurant call me and tell me that they were cancelling my order because the driver was screaming at them trying to get a lot of extra food for free by saying that it was a part of my order. When items are wrong on my order I get told that they won’t refund me even if I’m missing the items that I paid extra for (like guacamole for example). There are so many other food delivery services. No customer servicePOORLY DESIGNED APP. You will be charged for food you HAVEN’T received I ordered from chipotle. Chipotle said they couldn’t see the order so they never made it. My driver called me to tell me the situation, but decided to say that the order was picked up and then DROVE all the way to my residence without the food so that he could mark the order as complete and get it off his queue. I submitted the issue, no response from Postmates. As of right now I am still charged for the food. How is this a functioning business? _______ This food app outsources ALL of their services to Asia. I know this because restaurants get my food orders by phone from a representative there. My fraud experience with Postmates: They let me order from a closed business because their app didn’t reflect that it was actually closed (poor design). The driver had to send me a picture of a closed sign on the door. The driver then stated that he wasn’t able to cancel my order, and I was forced to cancel, which automatically charged me $70 for food that was never even made. I submitted a ticket with the company saying no service rendered, and they denied it and charged me $70 anyway. I am contesting as fraud with my bank. There is ZERO customer service with this company, you CANNOT even speak with a rep (which is amazing considering the amount of moving parts with food delivery). WARNING!!! NEVER USE POSTMATES!!This is the worst company I have ever heard of! I was given a coupon by postmates in an email. While I tried to use it to purchase my first meal with them, it turned out to be a scam as they revoked the coupon price as I went through the checkout process. I tried to cancel before I even reached the final checkout. They did cancel my order, but still decided to charge me anyways, telling me that since I ordered it as a self-pickup, I would not be refunded. They never even gave me the option where I would have to go pick up my food or lose it, but canceled the order anyways and still took my money. I wrote postmates a letter telling them the situation in which I never even reached the final checkout and how I had immediately called the restaurant to cancel the order (even though i was not even aware I had placed it yet on the app), and that the restaurant never even received my order, but postmates decided to charge me anyways and refused to reimburse me. In a time when people are hurting financially during this current pandemic, they had no problem stealing money and food out of the hands of their customers. They should truly be ashamed of themselves. I would never advise anyone to use this application. I have heard many similar accounts and worse from people I know who have used postmates who understand postmates is truly a scam that profits off unsuspecting customers. Be warned and never use them! Would not trust this service.Had the worst experience using this service to get chicken wings from Wing King delivered to my house. I placed my order using the app at 6:40pm. First of all, the menu prices on the app aren’t the same as the actual restaurant so you don’t really know how much you’ll get charged til the very end. Initially my order was going to be about $45. The app states that it will take 50-60min to get my order, that’s fair. After 40min passes at 7:19pm, I get a text from my Postmates driver saying the order will be ready in one hour. Over an hour passes by at 8:36pm, and my food still has not came or have I heard from the driver. I call the Wing King to ask what happened and they state that I need to call my Postmates driver because the food is ready and has not been picked up. I attempt to call/text the number that text me and can’t get through. Finally on the app I find a number that reaches the driver and she says that the kitchen got backed up and she’s going to get the food right now and be right over. My food came to the door at 9:14pm. Cold and with no receipt. Later find out that the app is charging me $75 for my food from an additional $12 service fee and a $6 delivery fee. I did not tip. I followed through with Postmates and filled out twice that I had a bad driver and bad service but no one has contacted me in any way or form. I’m absolutely shocked. Very unimpressedI was excited about this app but after my first use, I deleted and will not use again. I placed an order. The driver assigned to my order went to pick it up and the order was not at the store. The driver contacted me to let me know and said he didn’t know what to do. I tried contacting postmates but there was no number to call. You can only submit a request. The issue was eventually resolved and my order was placed and my driver picked up my order. When my driver was on his way to me, he said the postmates app stopped working. I had to give him verbal directions on the phone. My order was delivered much later than it was supposed to arrive. This was not the driver’s fault.
My driver, Melvin, was very professional and nice. He was awesome. He spent over 2 hours on my order. The app was messed up and would not let me give him a tip. My husband contacted postmates through Twitter to see how we could tip him. My order ended up being refunded, thankfully, but we still wanted to tip our driver. Postmates told my husband that we wouldn’t be able to do that. Melvin spent over 2 hours helping me get my food and he was not compensated for it. I would have given him cash but I didn’t have any on hand.

Watch out for credit card fraud with this company!This is the worst company I've ever dealt with! I have a literally dealt with better customer service stationed out of Third World countries where they barely speak English! Following placing a single order it took me five days to resolve a simple issue! Nine days later I am still dealing with the ramifications of having placed one simple food order through this company. For the last three days I've been trying to get in touch with this company because they have been making unauthorized charges onto my credit card. I have sent a dozen emails in the last 72 hours and not a single person from this company has bothered to respond to me! They are literally conducting illegal and fraudulent activity and won't even respond to the consumer who is being affected! Nine days ago I asked them to cancel my account and I am still waiting for them to do that and in the interim I keep getting charges even though I'm not placing any deliveries! The only way to reach anyone at this company is through the stupidest support request form on their website and then you need to wait for them to respond! Please tell me how email is a suitable form of customer service when you're dealing with food delivery?! If you have an issue with your food on Saturday guess what you may not hear from the company till Monday!
