BodyState: Vitals Tracker Positive Reviews
Helping me train smarter, not harderI’m training for my first 5K right now and still figuring things out as a beginner, so recovery is everything for me. This app has made it way easier to understand how my body’s actually doing each day. It takes my sleep, HRV, heart rate, and workouts and gives me one simple score that tells me if I’m good to go or need to back off. Most days, it confirms what I’m feeling, but sometimes it catches stuff I would’ve missed, like when I feel fine but my body’s still recovering. That’s saved me from overtraining more than once. The best part is how clean and easy it is to use. No account setup, no fluff, just real info I can trust. For a free app, it’s kind of insane how good it is. I honestly don’t think it’ll stay free forever, so I’m glad I got in early. If you’re just starting out like me, this is the kind of app that helps you train smarter without overcomplicating things..Version: 3.0.0
Measures mostly sleep and workoutsI'm new to the body battery concept so as a reviewer I have the advantage of having no set expectations. So far I find the concept interesting, but feel like the algorithm is mostly providing a one time value--the energy at the start of my day, and then gradually decreasing it without taking into account new HRV measurements. So I might feel super zen but it says I have 14% left because I went for a run, or I might feel out of it but I'm at 75% because I slept the normal amount and have not moved much. I would love an expanded info section like another reviewer commented because it is very possible I am interpreting this wrong, but it really seems like the body state value is based on my sleep metrics and my workout metrics alone, and doesn't take into account other things I might do during the day that the AW can track (be stressed, walk around, meditate, repeat). And if I'm right I'm not sure why the app needs multiple taps to sync (I'm assuming with my phone) every time I want to check the value?.Version: 2.0
Favorite Apple Watch AppThis app is so incredibly useful! It helps keep me mindful of how my body is performing throughout the day. It’s convenient, easy to use, and very practical. I can access it on both my watch and my phone. It’s such a cool concept, making me think of my health like a battery, which helps me make more conscious decisions. On days where I’m depleting faster or didn’t “charge” enough, I know to have an easier workout. Whereas days where I get my full “charge”, I know I can push myself a little further. I love the pricing factor too. Asking for a donation rather than charging a monthly fee is so nice and takes the stress off of feeling like you have to pay an exuberant amount of money to be able to track your health factors. I also love that I can continue to make donations as I fall more in love with the app. I recommended this app to all of my friends and family and they love it! You’ll love it too! Take back control of your health with a user friendly, wallet friendly, informative app! I can’t wait to see how this app expands and grows moving forward!.Version: 3.0.0
AwesomeI switched from a garmin to an AW a little while back. Body battery was one of my favorite features. I found this app through Reddit and it is very similar. It’s nice to see everything on one page. This could easily be a paid app if the creator wanted to make it one. You do have the option to tip the creator for some “skins” / themes which I took advantage of. I like having the ability to display it as a widget on my AW although my only complaint is that it does not automatically update or even periodically. I have to tap into the widget and wait for it to update. If there’s any way to run it more frequently or every 15 minutes I would love that update. My four star rating is really a 4.5… That update or ability would easily push me to 5 stars!.Version: 2.0
Coolest watch app everReally really cool to see how its all broken down and a really great way to keep track of my vitals. I actually bought an Apple Watch just so I can have this app. My only wish is that we have the option to review and give a guess of how we're feeling to help calibrate the BodyState a little bit. Sometimes it says it's a little lower than I am but I guess that's because it's new for me and it's still calibrating. I happened to download it when I was over sleeping a lot and felt really drained and it took that from my normal baseline. Maybe also a questionnaire at the beginning?.Version: 2.2.1
Almost there. A few, critical, missing pieces. This is quite good for a simple overview. For someone coming from body battery this is really legible, but for someone like myself this is actually pretty difficult to wade through because the information area relates more of why things are measured and how they are averaged than actually teaching us what the information means and how we can use it and why it is measured. I had to research body battery itself to understand what I needed. While the main overview is simple and to the point, which is a positive imo, but it is almost too simple. I can see a history, or graphs, or deeper insights. There is a niche for this app where it can present information on the surface similar to body battery, but then can be dug into to show information in a manner similar to Whoop or Athlytic. TLDR: don’t treat this app like everyone will already be familiar with Body Battery. Educate us fully like we are dummies because most people using this will have always had Apple Watches and therefore won’t have used body battery before..Version: 1.02
My daily go toFound this app when searching for ways to track my recovery through my new Apple Watch. Then I stumbled upon the Reddit community. The developer is so responsive online and having a direct line of communication with the user base gives me confidence that this app will continue to be great. I honestly check it first thing when I wake up and off & on throughout the day. I love that when I’m feeling like I might have overdone it, I have a tool to help quantify that. Last note- I never leave app reviews. Just download it already..Version: 2.2.1
Just what I wanted!I’ve heard so many people say that they made the switch from Apple Watch to garmin and never looked back, so when my husband upgraded his garmin, I tried out his old one. It seems like I’m one of the few that prefers Apple Watch to garmin. However, I Ioved the sleep score and body battery. This is perfect for Apple Watch users who want that body battery metric! It’s a simple dashboard with easy to read data. I love not being bombarded with ads, too! The explanations of each metric are super helpful as well. Awesome app!.Version: 2.2.1
So helpfulThis app is so helpful. I am very sensitive to physical activity and a little too much can easily put me over the edge. This app helps verify how I’m feeling, and helps me rest when I might otherwise push. I’m finding it to be very accurate, and my rating even goes up a few points if I do a 5 minute breathing exercise. It’s simple, but at the same time gives me all the info I need. Highly recommend..Version: 2.2.1
Best “body battery” app I’ve usedI’ve used a few different apps to get a sense of my readiness or “charge” for the day and how it changes as the day goes along: Oura was abandoned because the ring wouldn’t fit my finger half the time as it swelled due to normal fluctuations. Athlytic has similar features but just way too much going on and I felt that the battery function never really reflected how I felt. The built-in Apple Health vitals don’t have the ability to translate them into a meaningful overall metric. BodyState does a much better job of matching with my intuition about how my day is going. The added feature that shows the past week of your different metrics is great. The developer is really responsive on Reddit. The watch compliments are stupendous. Get this app!.Version: 2.2.1
Simple and helpful appThis has become one of the apps that motivates me to take care of good care of myself. It kind of gamifies health by motivating me to go to bed earlier to try charge my battery and to keep with my exercise program for the past month as I see improvements in my fatigue capacity and heart health. It’s so impressive how well it matches up with and validates how I feel in the morning and through the day..Version: 2.2.1
Love itLove the all in one insight you get on the Home Screen. Would love to see better insights on sleep, time I fell asleep, time I woke up etc. also sleep score Apple now provides would be nice. This is the first app I open when I wake up, would love to have it be an app I use throughout the day to track fitness, calories, meals etc. big ask but it’s already a big part of my morning..Version: 3.0.0
Great Progress with updatesI’ve been using this app from its initial days and the dev team has been actively fixing issues and pushing new features. The app works very well and gamifies my sleep and activity throughout the day. Overall a great app that works very well even without any form of payment. But we can buy the devs a coffee to show the support or get the premium tier..Version: 3.1
Very easy to useHeard about this app from YouTuber Hayls World and thought I would give it a try. It’s clean it’s simple and to the point and even better if you wanna unlock extra benefits, it’s a one time purchase and not a subscription. Not 100% sure if every thing from the vitals is accurately being displayed from my watch so I take it with a grain of sand, but if everything is accurate, it’s nice to see what my “body battery” is at.Version: 3.0.2
New update is 💯Before, the BodyState was rather simplistic in the what it showed, opaque in what data it drew from, and limited in its ability to show data over time. When I opened the app yesterday, I was surprised to see all the new widgets and displays along with the ability to reference back further than a week. It’s more information-dense yet remains easily navigable. I just wish there was a proper merging of the Apple fitness app, Apple’s health app, and BodyState’s interpretation of all the data into one single app with BodyState’s UI design. On downside I’ve encountered with the update was mild stuttering/hitching while clicking through the app. Not sold on the AI coach portion and I don’t intend on using it..Version: 3.0.0
Amazing AppThis is my favorite health app out there. It displays information in a digestible way, has all sorts of data and I personally love the upgrades of being able to see previous days and charts. And best of all ITS FREE. and not that fake free when you get SOME features and have to be a “pro” member for the rest, it’s genuinely free. I highly recommend this app..Version: 3.0.0
Great body battery alternativeHave been using the app for less than a month but so far so good! Very simple and effective way of getting a snap shot of your daily health/readiness. Developer is very active on the subreddit with updates and responding to questions from the community. Excited to see future updates.Version: 2.1.2
Already paid for lifetime, now we have to subscribe. Many had a paid supporter status. The original app creator recently sold the app to somebody now we lost the paid support status and have to subscribe and pay again. What a shame to the original customers of the app..Version: 3.1
Simple and useful appCombines the data from the fitness and health apps to give you an fast and easy read breakdown of your sleep, exertion, and recovery. Other apps bombard you with information and fluff. This just shows you the important information and a score that can help you monitor your recovery..Version: 2.2.1
Recommended! For those with Apple Watches, this app is a game changer to measure your activity, stress, and overall well-being. After using it the past year, I can promise that the measurements are pretty accurate. The widgets are super sick too! Would recommend supporting the creator if you can :).Version: 3.0.2
Couldn’t connectI tried to get it to connect and tried the trouble shooting tips with out any luck. Bummed Update: was finally able to connect and use the app! Deducted 1 star for my individual difficulty in setting up. It would be nice to have a more detailed description for each feature/score. Overall, good. Free to use! Thanks..Version: 2.1.1
Great app for keeping tabs with how you are set up for the dayGreat to not only view for recovery purposes, but also to see how you handle or recover from tougher days, stress, nights out, etc. Good to keep tabs and know when you need to make changes or adjust to maintain yourself..Version: 3.0.0
5 STARS!Absolutely love this app. As a person that tends to push himself to the limit in basically every aspect of his life including working out (maybe to much), this app is really helping me kind of dial that back a bit to get the proper rest and recovery that my body needs. Glad I stumbled upon it!.Version: 2.2.1
Great little vitals tracker!I’m impressed by the features this offers for free. Great when paired with your Apple Watch to monitoring your exertion and determine when you might be pushing a little too hard with your workouts, or when it’d be a good time to engage in a little more activity..Version: 2.2.1
Love, love this app!Have been using this app since the past month and I found it to be awesome! I’m amazed at how accurately this app depicts my “body battery”, it’s insane! Just spent some extra $ to buy all the themes, that’s how much I think this app is worth it! Sending lots of support and love to the developer. 💯😭.Version: 2.0
AwesomeI got this app from the developers comment on reddit and I love it. I love indie projects, it’s sleek, free, no ads, no sign up. If this app was paid I probably would pass on it but since the creator seems so genuine it makes me want to pay to support them and we need more developers like this. Incredible..Version: 2.1.2
The best app for your VitalsI have been enjoying this app since its inception and I am a paid supporter. I love the simplicity of the interface compared to other health apps which feels too crowded. This is a beautiful, well designed app and should be your first choice for health !.Version: 3.1
Body BatteryIf you like the Garmin body battery feature, this is an easy way to add it to your apple watch. While there are some other big players in the space (bevel, eclipse, athlytic) this one is free and still provides similar tracking..Version: 2.1.2
Very user friendlyThe app is super user friendly and makes my health more of a priority. I usually just ignore my lack of sleep but seeing the stats makes me more conscious of it. Excited to see where this app goes, glad I’m here early:).Version: 3.0.0
Needs heart rate trend data overall (not just at night)Add more data and more data and more! i want more features. idk want i want but i want more. and make it so i can look at, break down, and analyze my heart rate from the WHOLE day/week/month/year during the day too. not just at night.Version: 3.2
Excellent vitals trackerThis is another great look at your body’s level of energy. I think it’s fairly accurate as well. I use it in conjunction with a sleep tracker to understand if I need to give my body extra rest..Version: 2.2.1
This app is fantasticI rarely review apps or pay for full features on an app, but this one is just so good if you use an Apple Watch. The information is great and the score for your overall health/restfulness is generally pretty spot-on..Version: 3.0.2
Best health app.Haven’t had an app be more accurate, calculated and reliable. Never bugged out always seemed accurate and heck, it knew when I was sick and raised my fatigue level and other things. It’s insane how good this app is and for free?? 10/10.Version: 2.1.2
Heart rateI like the app a lot and use it daily. However, you get penalized if you have a heart rate less than 62. I am a running athlete and often my heart rate is in the 50’s. Is there a way to put in my profile what my true resting heart rate is so the app can determine my true body state score..Version: 2.2.1
Love this appThis app is very well put together and integrates perfectly with my Apple Watch. I loved this app so much I supported it and bought the custom icons and colors. It continues to improve and I have high hopes for it. Well done..Version: 3.2
Love love loveEver since I switched from garmin to Apple Watch I’ve missed this function. Thank you so much for making sense of all the previously useless data I didn’t fully understand. :).Version: 3.1
LoveSo glad I got this app to supplement my Apple watch health info! It’s offered me another way to understand my body better as I try to get more in tune with it. And, it’s been helpful to not overtrain as I prepare for a half marathon. Love it..Version: 3.0.0
Great appIt is a great app and easily to navigate. But I could not see the full sleep baseline due to the length and body state history. Also, it will be better to give any suggestions for the improvement. If those problems could be solved, I would love the app!!.Version: 1.0
AmazingLiterally the first thing I look at when I wake up, helps you understand your body by putting it into visuals and the baselines let you know when your overtraining. Chefs kiss 🤌🏾.Version: 3.1
Concise, easy to readThis app is great to get a quick reading of HRV, fatigue, sleep, sleeping heart rate, etc. It’s very concise and the interface is clean and readable. I learned about this app from the developer on Reddit, and am very glad to have purchased..Version: 2.2.1
Great appComing from Samsung watch over to Apple one of the things I missed was the easy energy score. I really appreciated the ease of this app. It tells you exactly what I want to track..Version: 2.2.1
Good appIt may take a minute or a week but I think it’s really cool and I think it’s accurate but I wish there was a little bit more free customization, and I kinda like that tipping offer. Good accessory app for Apple Watches.Version: 2.2.1
Better than others for body batteryI’ve used Bevel and Athlytic and this app is the app that I look at for energy levels / body battery..Version: 2.2.1
New Apple Watch user!I haven’t used for a long time, but this seems to be a really cool app to be able to track how ur body is doing during the day..Version: 2.1.1
Beautiful, Simple, and UsefulLove this. The concept is way more cohesive than apple’s sleep and training load. I saw the daily chart on an ad and struggled to find it for the longest time..Version: 3.0.0
Have to restart phone every morning for it to syncI shouldn’t have to restart my phone every morning for it to sync. Day 3 of having the app and 2nd day of having to restart my phone. It’s annoying. Once it syncs the information is very helpful.Version: 2.2.1
Free International Money Transfer 💸Enjoy high maximum transfers into more than 20 currencies while saving up to 90% over local banks! The cheap, fast way to send money abroad. Free transfer up to 500 USD!Version: 3.5
