MyAir™ by Resmed Positive Reviews

App does what it is meant to doI’m only here because I had to do an app update, which does not occur too often so I was looking to see what was updated, and noticed all of the negative reviews. I have been using my ResMed CPAP for over 3 years now and I do not understand all of the negative reviews for this app. I read several and have been sitting here shaking my head. People complaining about how their machine operates and whatnot. I have several bones to pick with my machine, which maybe 2 or 3 days a week decides it wants to perform like a jet engine on take off. But this review is for the app, which does exactly what it is meant to do - syncs with your ResMed and shows you the sleep data, which takes some time to sync from the previous sleep cycle (about 10 minutes? I’m not sure since I don’t sync it immediately after waking up). I use the app while on WiFi, with a VPN, and have no issues connecting to my machine. I’ve used the app while on crappy hotel WiFi as well with no problems. This app shows the bare basics so if you want a more accurate account of how you are sleeping, take the memory card to your doctor and they can look at the data more thoroughly. Or buy a Fitbit, even the basic ones will show you your sleep cycle with REM data. This app gives you a very basic account of how you slept the previous night so it performs as advertised..Version: 2.0.0

Still Kicking, Still Here, Still Above Ground, your call.I've been using a CPAP steady for approximately 25 years. I even use the CPAP on the rare occasions I take a midday nap. I'm now 78.5 years old. Given how I woke up with a very sore swollen throat from snoring or gasping for air at times prior to the CPAP there is no doubt in my mind that I am alive today because I routinely use a CPAP. Want to go camping with a CPAP, no problem. Buy power tool lithium batteries and a power converter to delver 115v from the lithium batteries. I get one hour of sleep ( + or - minutes) for each amp rating on the batteries I use. The batteries are easy to swap out in the middle of the night. So go with multiple batteries of 5 or 6 or even 9 amps then charge them up while driving to your next primitive camp site on your adventures. In 2013 my wife and I drove from Maine to Alaska in a Mustang convertible with the top down except for about a hour when it rained. We slept in a tent and I used my CPAP with charged up batteries each night. (I recommend a very small camping trailer if possible but first get the convertible. We did a motor home in 2009 and they are too big to enjoy the trip.) On the first day of summer 2013 we were at and above the Arctic Circle, yes that place. So use the CPAP and if you're uncomfortable get over it. Life can sometimes be uncomfortable, enjoy it while you have it..Version: 4.4.1

Minor issuesI only have two minor issues with this app. Apparently when I get up in the morning the app is reporting it as the previous day. Because of my job I don’t get to bed until after midnight. So as an example: I go to bed after 3 am Friday and wake up generally around 10:30 or 11:00 am on Friday. Yet my data when it finally comes through shows up as Thursday? I kept track of the time on CPAP therapy whenever I wake up. And that’s the time it shows up as the previous day’s data. Why? Also, is there any way to get much more in-depth information like what the Doctor would see from machine data? I think that would be awesome to see that. Note: Just received a response yesterday after I wrote the above review. It was a really good explanation about the time running noon to noon of the following day. Now I understand. Looking at the app information further, it does seem to give you the information in regards to Compliance Issues that are required for say DOT in the case of Commercial Truck Drivers. Again you’ll still need a detailed report from your Doctor for the required physical. I changed my rating to 5 instead of the original 4 stars..Version: 2.14.0

Lots of potentialSomething I really loved about this app when I first used it was that it would award me achievement badges in the app indicating I met my usage goals. It’s really a disservice that nothing is awarded beyond those first 21 days. The reason why I liked the badges was because it showed a great reminder of my compliance with using the machine and ensuring I use it at least 21 days, and the app would be so much better and more engaging if these goals were reset every month within the app. I preferred receiving these badges versus having to count how many bars on the graph showed my amounts of usage. Also, there were no badges to show accomplishments for compliance for a full month with no missed days. This app has so much potential to engage users and better stay on top of their therapy if the badges reset every month, and could further be enhanced with tiers or levels to recognise long-term compliance (for example, persons who achieve the 21 night badge for three months get a a bronze medal, six months get a silver, nine months a gold, and 12 months platinum/diamond level. Then restart on the first of the year/after one continuous year from start of therapy to challenge users to re-earn their compliance achievements). This app was really motivating in the beginning but that’s all it had going for it. I also don’t seem to have prompted check ins or optional check ins that I could easily find. It would be nice to have the option to complete assessments whenever I feel like I need to check in separate from any that that app prompts to provide and monitor more date for patients comfort/how we’re feeling..Version: 4.0.0

First 3 weeksI received my machine and I was reluctant to even have to use one. Prior to using a machine I was having neuropathy on both feet. That kept me up most of the night. I went through the walk through of the machine with the Resmed representative and started using it that same evening. I needed to get 4 hrs a night and I had to work at it. The comfort of the mask is paramount to having a successful experience with the machine. I was able get my 4 hrs but I really had to work at it. I did notice almost immediately my neuropathy went away and that was a blessing in itself. But I wasn’t sleeping with the mask on, I was just making sure I got my 4 hrs. Sometimes I would wear it for an hour and off for two and then on for an hour, sleep for 2 and then back on for an hour or as long as I could handle it. I finally remembered that I was sent a different mask and Of course my wife knew exactly where it was. The mask was a little different and it only had one headband and it was a nose mask. It was so much lighter, the first night I used it I slept 9 hours. I’ve since been getting my 7 hrs of sleep almost every night. Don’t settle for being uncomfortable with your mask, find the right one for you. It’s the difference of making it work for you or not..Version: 2.6.0

Confused againI have noticed over the past two or three months that my scores have been very crazy. I look every morning to see how many hours I’ve slept, etc. I have noticed that I have mean red faces on the mask seal area. When I look at the history, I’m seeing that my numbers are way out of range. So, as I’ve said for the past two or three months I have really been paying attention to my mask seal. Nothing that I do at home improves my mask seal at all. Now mind you, I am not having any leakage in my mask at all during the night. So why am I having these crazy numbers that I’m receiving in my mask seal that tells me to adjust, adjust, adjust? Finally, I consulted my doctor’s office. My doctor looked at me in amazement that I was telling him about my awful readings through this application. He immediately printed out a copy of his report that was pulled from my ResMed AirSense 10 Respond that I’ve had since August 2024, and showed me that I was not having any issues with my mask seal at all! So, my question to you is, are you experiencing an issue with you app with other users like I’m experiencing? I would love to hear from someone about this issue. Thank you..Version: 2.23.0

Works great!!I don’t understand all the negative reviews. I had no problem setting it up, or using it. People need to realize that’s the hours recorded are for 24 hour periods. Where I’m at, which is Pacific standard time, it goes from 10 AM to 10 AM the next day. That means if I go to bed at 8 AM and sleep till 3 PM it’s going to record two hours of data for the first day and five hours of data on the following day.(I work nights) and I find that in order for it to sync The power button must be Long pressed until the green light goes out. Because if you only press the power button once, it doesn’t seem to sync while the green power button light is still on. And I find that by closing the app completely and restarting it will cause it to sync immediately. This app isn’t supposed to give you the same details that your doctor gets, but this will show you if you’re in compliance for your insurance company. And I highly recommend looking at the report that is generated from the summary which will give you your 30 day, 90 day and year-long results and your conformance. Which for me is using it 70% of the time which is 21 out of 30 nights a month at least four hours a night..Version: 1.10.2

I’m a believer! As a medical professional I knew about sleep apnea, etc., but of course that wouldn’t be me! After doing a sleep study and discovering I was not breathing about 60 times at night, I was convinced to try it. At first, trying to get used to the mask was a little challenging, but I was determined to try this and give it a full effort. what blew me away was the difference I feel now. After a month of doing this, it has given me my energy back, I stopped drinking as much coffee and I’m much more alert and awake. I feel a little bit like I was slowly boiling to death like the frog that you put in cold water and then turn the heat up. By the time he realizes he’s boiling it’s too late. The thing that really makes the difference in this therapy is not only your commitment to it mentally to get over any problems, but also the support that you get from this company and the really well designed equipment that functions as it should. The support and the videos are phenomenal and really helps you get through it. No, I never wanted to do this, but thank God these people are there and have produced an excellent product. Thank you for giving back my sleep!.Version: 3.1.0

Great App - One Request for an UpgradeI’ve been using this app for 18-24 months or so. In terms of information output, it gives me exactly what I’m looking for, so Kudos to the makers for keeping it simple and direct! There’s one feature, however, that I suggest needs an overhaul: getting from one date to another when wanting to review the past days one at a time. Presently you can select a date and review it; but when you want to check another date you have to hit “back”, scroll to the date you want to look at, open it; then repeat for any other date you want to see. In a Swipe culture, we need the opportunity to swipe to another date. We also need the “home” of the list of dates to land back at the last date I reviewed, rather than going back to the current date. Example: Perhaps I went camping a few weeks ago, and am curious to review how I did during that week. The app needs to allow me to go back to that week, swipe around those days of camping, then if I hit “back” it needs to land on the range of dates I was most recently looking at. The way the app functions presently is highly labor intensive, as apps go, when it comes to viewing day-specific activity on various dates..Version: 2.5

Having a blast with the appI am 70 years old and was recently retested and still have a slight trace of sleep apnea. I decided to go ahead and was directed to purchase the ResMed AirSense 10... I was curious about the advertisement of your app so I downloaded it and was glad that I did. It is interesting to follow the progress of everything but it would be nice to have a space for notes if there is a discrepancy with the data and actual time involved. As an example last night was the fourth recorded night and my highest score (98) with almost the longest sleep time. Although, now that I think about it, I may have thrown things off because I didn’t turn off the AirSense 10 right away. I was too excited trying to text an email to my doctor about what just happened so I texted him an email that took hours to do. For the first time since around 1980 I had a full fledged nightmare that I could remember for at least a few seconds, thanks to the CPAP for jogging my rem sleep and this software for recording the event. I know that there are separate word processors but it would be nice to have space on this app to leave explanations for sleep periods, as in this case. Thanks for such a wonderful app!.Version: 1.10.2

Great appI’ve read some of the reviews and was skeptical. I’ve been using this now for couple weeks. I’ve got couple comments about a few of the negative issues I’ve read about the app. Some comments about the slow slow to updating after waking. I did notice this same issue. I’ve realized this delay maybe because they want to be certain you are up for the rest of the day. I got up early on the first morning I used my new machine. Checked my phone and no info. I got sleepy went back to sleep using my machine. After getting up couple hours later still no info for my nights sleep. A short time later I received my nightly report. It showed a full report that included the time where I turned machine back on. I then realized to get an accurate report the delay was needed. This gives you a very detailed report of your sleep. One more point I read about makes leaking. I didn’t realize that the masks or nasal mask are designed to work with different pressures. If you require high pressure then the nasal mask my not work due to sealing issues. The nasal mask can’t be to tight or loose. If your nasal mask leaks when you first put it on it could be because the ramp pressure is low not making a good seal. Mine is that way but when the ramp time is reached the pressure is strong enough to create a good seal. If you tighten it for the ramp time and it could be to tight and leak and be to tight after ramp time has been reached. I’ve been using BIPAP for over five years. It’s cumbersome at times but has changed my quality of life drastically. One more point about this app. I require a DOT physical yearly because of my apnea. I think this report will satisfy the info needed for my DOT physical. This keeps you from having to take your SIM card to your doctor for a print out. I hope this helps the ones who read this. Ricky.Version: 1.10.2

I don’t know why the low star rating?Ok I was skeptical to download the app based on the one star reviews, but downloaded it anyway, and I’m glad I did, so far it’s been good with my iPhone 11, I like that I can see a semi detailed report of my sleep patterns on my phone. My sleep studied showed I have 27 apnea’s per hour, and the app confirmed this, my doctor also told me that the opioids I take for pain (Oxycodone) is what’s giving me breathing problems when I sleep, my research showed he was right, oxycodone can cause respiratory problems, this app also confirmed it, while taking oxycodone i had 27-28 apnea an hour, when I stopped taking the oxycodone I only had between 4-9 apnea’s according to this app, and started feeling better mentally and physically, minus the back pain which I will find another alternative that is NOT opioids. I also like that the app has a sleep score, 1 day I got a Sleep score of 100 and man that score was on point because I felt so rested with no headache’s , I felt like a million bucks. Now striving to get a 100 score every-time, Great app, to the developers; keep up the good work :).Version: 1.10.2

Feature requests for multiple machinesI’m a user experience designer, and a user of this app. I have a feature request. I own three different ResMed 10 machines. I use them instead of packing and unpacking one by leaving them in alternative sleeping locations, such as my living room or my significant other’s home or my family’s camper. The machine in my bedroom was my first one and the only one I have registered to MyAir. I was told by the sleep clinic that I can get MyAir for my other machines by logging out and registering with the app as a new user by using a different email address. lol. Sorry but that’s just unreasonable. So here’s my feature request: please allow users to add multiple machines to their account and allow the backend to gather data from all registered machines as a part of their usage reporting in-app. As a user, I want to see all my usage and stats from my machines at a glance in a single account. It creates an undue burden upon me to have to log out and log in among three different accounts to track all my machines and usage data. I am a part of a few sleep apnea support groups online and many people have multiple machines. I hope you take this request into serious consideration. It could also be a boon for users in the clinical and insurance environment when it comes to tracking “compliance.” Users with multiple machines currently have to bring in all their machines to prove their compliance is at or above 4 hrs/day. Sometimes you can bring in the SD card, but what if it gets lost? Being able to register multiple machines to the same clinical account for tracking compliance and other usage data would be a huge step forward as well. Thanks, and great work on the app so far!.Version: 1.10.1

RedMed Airsense11 Autoset - Apria AppI love this app. I had a CPAP in the past and it was quite effective, but this machine along with the app takes it to a whole new level. It’s actually fun to check my daily stats to see objective data that monitors my sleep and monitors my improvement. I love this app. If I could offer one thing for the programmers, it would be add a comment box in the daily stat section for user input. For example, the first day I got my machine, in the afternoon, I performed several “tests” to get me used to how it works and feels. However, those tests were lumped into the night’s data and made it appear to be all over the place. I would have liked to make a note on that day. Another night, I needed to re-adjust my mask straps and interruption showed as “events.” I would have liked to make note that I was adjusting my mask. In another occasion, I had the humidify set too high and sleep was disrupted by condensation in the hose. This would be another opportunity to leave a note on that day. Other than that, this app is awesome!! Thank you..Version: 2.18.0

App is very good but two suggestions from a Senior CitizenOverall I gave the app 5 stars but as a user and retired software developer I have a two ‘user based’ suggestions. 1. Instead of showing history by specific month, base display on last 15 days so users can easily see continuous progress’s with out switching month. For example, this morning (Nov 1st) the display opened showing November and I had to switch back and forth to see how my numbers were progressing. Since I check each of the history item every day, it is not very user friendly. From a user point of view, this is unnecessary clicks and makes it some what harder to see true recent progress. Old people like me are not going to appreciate this added complexity. 2. I can not find anywhere in the app that shows pressure reading from the nightly process. I have to go back to my machine to verify pressure readings. I have a Airsense 11..Version: 2.1.0

App is really good! Does what it is intended to do.Although I have been a CPAP user for about 10 years, I never could get good feedback on my sleep. Even taking the card to my doctor I would get a “doing great”. I have recently updated my machine from a S9 to the newest 11 machine. I have been very impressed by the info I get in the app. It is easy to set up and easy to use. I generally will download my data before I am out of the bed. I have not had any download issues. One thing I would request that the developers to consider is having a “comment box” in the app that I could enter reasons for not having a good score. I had a 65 last week and it was because I just could not sleep. So i got up at 4:30 am and was short on sleep hours. (I have insomnia as well) Being able to enter that would help in a personal evaluation. Users could document issues with their mask and other things. Not a long box, just enough to remember why the score was low. And not the ability to modify your data. Thanks in advance for that consideration..Version: 2.3.1

This is a good app, BUT…… I was prescribed a Sleep therapy device for use while waiting for a tonsillectomy to be done. Leading up to the surgery, I began to have issues at times with my nasal mask leaking. The feedback from the app is great in that it recommends ways to fix that problem, but it does not allow for the user to provide any answer to the care check in questions, other than Yes the information was helpful, or No, the information was not helpful. Due to surgery recovery, my Doctor has recommended that I suspend using my Airsense 11 therapy device, for example. I was contacted through email and there was no way for me to communicate that with Resmes. Then, I started getting contacted with questions through the app. I am over 50, and my tonsils were extremely large, so recovery is taking a bit longer than expected. Once I fully recover, I will get back to using the product. Is there any plans to provide a way that users can provide feedback through the app for a situation like mine in the future? I’d give the app a higher review if that could be done. Thank you..Version: 2.10.0

Suggestion for future upgradesThis is my third try at using a CPAP machine over the last 15 years or so. My prior experiences all failed before I could get full benefits of the treatment. A combination of the much improved machine and the immediate feedback support of the app made it possible to get through the mask anxiety and finding a mask that worked. I appreciate the daily feedback, even the cheesy coaching, helped me stay with the treatment until I could feel the benefits and improve my life. There is one improvement that you might consider. It would be great to have the ability to provide notes visible to the clinician. For example; on a night with minimal use - “Got up early for travel” or “mask disconnected during night and I didn’t know until morning “ or “I am really struggling with the mask”. One might note a medication change -“Sleeping pill tonight”, or “Trying different mask”.Version: 1.10.2

Only one suggestionI really love that ResMed has a companion app to go along with their machine. It is so helpful. I love striving fur 100% and that’s even better when my friend, who started therapy a couple weeks before me, gets competitive with our showed. The ONLY thing I really wish the app had was a notes section for each session. I am normally a side sleeper, but occasionally I end up on my back. I learned last night that when I sleep on my back the amount of events is much higher than when I sleep on my side. Last night while on my back, the machine recorded 6 events per hit vs. the 1.4 or 0.8 that are recorded while sleeping in my side. I would like for my dr to be able to see those notes so she knows why there was a significant increase. If you can figure how to add a notes section for each session and figure out how to let the Dr see those notes, I would give you the highest rating… note I just had to write out in my sleep diary notebook..Version: 2.21.0

Content made for older white men?I’ve worn a cpap for 9 years and started wearing one when I was 30. I just upgraded my cpap and now am using the app too. Positives: The app tracks data nicely and it’s neat to see the feedback in real time. It’s great that this also gets transmitted to my provider too. Negatives: The ‘helpful’ videos show mostly older white men, and a few older white women, using their cpap masks. As a 39 year old woman, none of these help address how to adjust the cpap mask without having more hair breakage, best hairstyles to maintain hair integrity and keep mask straps in place, how to best position straps on face when wearing face moisturizer and serums to bed, etc, etc. this app also tracks how many times your mask is on/off through the night- I have a 4 month old, so this is really only tracking how many times I get up to breastfeed during the night. The questions the app asks are all yes/no questions and feel like they are catering to a demographic that is not helpful to the rest of us..Version: 2.13.0

Could be a lot better1) Data is compiled the next day, not real time. You can really do much without knowing how you are doing right now 2) No information on cleaning and maintaining equipment. Gosh, rather than hunt down a piece of paper that came with the unit, it would be nice if you could just look it up. (Or look at a small sticker on the back of the unit) 3) Too bad it doesn’t work with my Apple TV, Alexa, or Sleep Number bed. It would be great if it turned off the TV once I fell asleep, started up white noise, or shared info from the sensors in my bed, even adjusting the firmness. 4) The help section didn’t help me at all when the unit was malfunctioning when I first got it. I started over and re-setup the unit and that fixed it. But that wasn’t an app suggestion to fix it. 5) Put the ability to adjust the ramp up setting on the app, instead of needing to navigate a menu on a tiny screen in the side of the unit. 6) How do I get replacement parts that are according to the schedule? Can they be ordered through the app? If not, why not? 7) Part of the setup could be a test of the different Nasal Pillows with realtime feedback on which size is working the best. Try each one and evaluate the efficiency. And these are just a few things I noted after using it first 3 days, I’ll probably have a much longer list as I continue to use it. And that’s not even getting into issues about the equipment itself..Version: 3.5.0

Useful, quick glance of CPAP statsI have used this app daily for a couple years to monitor my CPAP therapy. It’s easy to use and allows clear tracking of my statistics. Recently the app had an update to include a detailed report that has further breakdown, like the doctor is able to view. I LOVE having access to this report without waiting to visit the doctor. A very good added feature. The only issue I’m having is the most recent data is not displayed onscreen after the update. I have to scroll over to view it. I liked being able to click on the “seal” or “events” heading to immediately view last nights data without scrolling. I think now it’s showing the beginning of the month instead. It may seem like a small change, but was confusing at first because I thought I was missing data since the dashboard numbers didn’t seem to be reflected in the detail screen, only to discover I now need to scroll to see it..Version: 1.10.0

Welcome to 2015 featuresUpdate #2: increase star rating to 3 as data sync speed has gotten better. Aside from that, still stand by the feedback below though. Update: It is still a bad app. But since the developers struggle with basic app devs, I thought I might give an easy win. For heaven’s sake, give the option for dark mode! It is a sleep app, is it not? Lowered to 1 star for this as well has how long it takes to sync the data from the machine. Prior: What a dumb app. It can’t even talk to Apple Health. It only consumes data. It doesn’t even provide the data to the user. Sure it tells you a score, like you are incompetent. But where is the detail on the other aspects? It says you only use your machine for __hours, but can’t even tell you which hours they were, or when in the night you are having problems. This app is ridiculously old. In a world of evolving health apps, this one was left behind a few years ago. I am thoroughly unimpressed..Version: 4.0.0

New user impressionsThe good: Easy to set up Clean app layout Helpful summaries Trends integrate with Apple Health Data Things that could be better: Add the ability to control the AirSense 10 settings from the MyAir app. Turn Ramp On/Off & Mask Fit. Add a “Get Data” button so user can choose to get data from the CPAP device immediately after waking. It takes ~ 1 hour from the time I wake up and shut off device to receive results on the app. Providing users with the illusion of control over results/session data would give the patient a greater sense of control and build their trust/confidence faster. More granular control over which Apple Health trends to track with MyAir would make the experience more valuable and provide users with a greater sense of control over their own data. On the Dashboard, it would be nice if clicking the date cycled through views with options to view, weeks, months, custom date range, and an “All Time” view of the daily card. Maybe it does, I’ve only used the app for 5 days. Content linked in the app takes users to ResMed website content and users are asked to login and accept cookies. Too many clicks and why do I have to log in when I’m already logged into the app? Too many log in requests in the content experience = Too much trouble to log in again to read content..Version: 2.17.0
