Garmin Jr.™ App Comments & Reviews

Garmin Jr.™ Positive Reviews

Garmin BounceWe bought the Garmin Bounce smart watch for my eight-year-old for Christmas. He loves it …it is easy to track him in the neighborhood when he’s on his bike, I can send him messages. He can only respond to me, my husband, and his grandma. I know that some parents don’t like the fact that you have to have the Garmin app and they just want their kids to be able to text them on a traditional network that will go to their text messages instead of a Garmin notification…this is probably where they will lose the most potential buyers. I wish there was a way to transition to a traditional network when I am ready for him to have more freedom so he can communicate with friends. I think this is good controlled entry level device for communicating . Kids can pick from 20 customizable pre written texts to send or they can record an audio message . You can turn it on school mode to minimize distractions. It automatically turns itself off if you text them while they are at school. The Garmin app is easy..Version: 6.0.2

Issue with tap challenge - vivofit jr.My son has a vivofit jr. I saw an update for the app last night (version 2.6) and updated the app. The update mentioned a new tap challenge when you’ve earned your 60 minute activity goal. This included a picture of what I believe the tap challenge looks like. Thanks My son came home and we synced his vívofit Jr. to the app on my phone. It showed that he had earned the 60 minute goal and could make his move on the adventure trail. He made his move, but then we couldn’t figure out how to get to the tap challenge that was highlighted in this update. I tried looking for help on the website, but was unable to find anything on how to get to the tap challenge once the 60 minute activity goal has been met. I chatted online with two different support center chat agents. Nether of them could help me because neither of them had heard of this tap challenge. Clearly I’m missing something or they highlighted a new feature in the app that they didn’t actually add to the app. Other than this issue, my son loves loves loves his vivofit jr. He asked for it for Christmas and we were a little hesitant (thinking why does a 6 year old need to count his steps- he’s a super active kid). But it’s so much more than just a step counter. We love it!.Version: 2.6

Great ProductSo far, I absolutely love this product! I bought this for my 7 year old in hopes to get her more motivated and to be more consistent with her every day to day tasks. So far, it’s doing well! She gets really excited about the rewards system. I love that I can choose any amount I want for her to get per task. I really love that it tracks her sleeping as well. My daughter had sleep apnea and being able to know how much deep sleep she’s actually getting and when she is struggling to sleep is very amazing! She really enjoys wearing it. It took some getting used to, but now she’s all about it! I set alarms to remind her to do things like brushing her hair and teeth and to wake up in the morning for school. I give her points for staying on task. It’s working wonders for my baby! I love it! My only complaints are that I really wish it automatically updated more often. Occasionally it does when I’m in close proximity to her and the app is open... but more often than not, I have to manually update it multiple times a day in order to have accurate information... but it’s really not that big of a deal, given all of the other cool perks. I also wish their were more picture icons to pair with the alarms. But ultimately... I’m very satisfied!.Version: 4.1.1

Fit JR 2 used with APPEncourages child to do chores. It’s fun for the kids. It tracks sleep + activity. Can time brushing teeth!! Or can time anything really, like reading, writing or even time on device. Parent sets up syncing the watch with app, it’s very easy to do and the app walks you through everything. We can determine how many coins each chore earns, and the kids can redeem for “prizes” which are customized by the parent. We can choose the prize and how much coins until they can redeem. Like for us, trip to the Boardwalk is 250 coins, but family movie night is 25. She gets more coins when she does more challenging chores like cleaning hamster cage, and one coin for everyday stuff like homework and teeth brush. Totally works for us and I want a watch now ;) Only thing that bugs me: I wish this had a GPS in the watch!!! I’d pay twice as much for the watch if it had that feature. Would be nice just in case they are missing. More and more kids are missing everyday. With a name like Garmin, I thought that would come standard..Version: 4.2.2

My daughter’s incentive maker! My six year old’s vívofit Frozen Elsa watch is the best thing ever! She enjoys it so much. She races to brush her teeth with her two minute timer and then makes her bed dresses and combs her hair within minutes of waking up! She loves earning her chore coins. It has been fun watching her get so excited when she reaches her 60 minute activity goal. She loves unlocking more of the frozen story and playing the games. It is the highlight of our evening watching her enjoy it so much. This girl is use to playing wii and Xbox with more elaborate games. But with the frozen incentive games she is so proud and happy to do because she earned them! I love that she is learning to do her chores with a happy little spirit and getting exercise. She watches her watch and says oh, I better start moving! I love it. This is a great watch for where my six year old is at right now in her young life! Great job!!!.Version: 4.2

Pairing issue with replacement deviceOriginally I had thought the latest app update had broken the ability to pair, but I was mistaken as our other boys unit pairs and unpairs with ease. We contacted Garmin support and they are sending us yet another device that will hopefully be able to pair with our devices. That being said we have had the Vivo JR since they came out last year and are excited to use the new kids mode app. Oh and with the SW bands, I’m very surprised that the bands do not also bring new band icons to the devices. Come on we paid $40 for just a new adventure? I just assumed new icons would come but no big deal. What I have learned from this whole ordeal though is a new feature to allow complete removal of devices from your garmin connect account. With “grown-up” devices you are able to log in on a “real” computer and completely remove or suspend devices, really helpful for troubleshooting etc. The device has enough hardware features for the price point please do not change this! Especially now that Vivofit Jr. units for now less than $50 in stores! Makes for a great addition to garmin households. One “magical” feature I would adore, but would kill your profits would be to perform a “one-time” “hack” for the Vivofit Jr into a Vivofit. With the amount of bands available your child could conceivably have the same device forever! Our house is full of Garmin so keep them coming!.Version: 2.3.1

Fun app, 8 yo loves this tracker8 year old has wanted his own since he saw my Garmin Vivofit 3. Our deal was - learn to tell time in analog first with accuracy and it is yours! He loves it and he loves challenging me. App works well, game functions are fun. Only drawbacks -only way to mark off a chore is on app (not his device) and (as a parent) I was looking forward to getting a better sense of his sleep. I can not find a way to manipulate the time to sleep (this is easy to adjust on my Garmin app for my Vivofit 3). There was one night I know for certain (he was sawing logs!!) he was asleep by 8pm. The app said he was asleep after 10. I know it isn’t intended for that function, but was delighted it would gather some data (ish)....except I really can’t count on it being very accurate. If these two things were improved I would give this top marks. This kid is ALWAYS moving...and he loves seeing the steps rack up!.Version: 4.3

Recent updates= less starsUpdated review: I was contacted the same day I left a review by tech staff. They worked to resolve my issues and followed up twice. I’m raising my stars to 4, as I still preferred an older version of this app. But I really appreciated the responsiveness of their staff. We’ve been using this app and the watches for my 7 and 8 year old since March of 2017. The recent updates (in Oct 2017) that change the way chores are added and removed is frustrating. I’ve had to add and subtract chores twice for each child to try and recreate the list we had before the updates started coming. My children and I review chores at the end of each day, before we read bedtime stories. They are keenly aware of their coin count and which chores they are responsible for. It’s aggravating to keep receiving updates that don’t seem to add value to the experience. Instead they add labor on the parents’ end and confusion for kids. Like other parents have mentioned, having an option to go back and give kids credit for chores on a previous day was a helpful feature. Every so often we miss a night of reviewing and they still deserve to receive their coins. It was a super app until the middle of Oct. when these changes kept rolling in. What gives?.Version: 3.3

Great incentives for more exerciseI love this watch an app for so many reasons. I use it with my seven year old and he is very motivated to meet and exceed his exercise goals daily. He has a friend at school who has one and they like to compete to see who can get more steps. I also love the fact I can set a chore list and can give coins to reward when things are complete. I love that it tracks sleep patterns. We also use the timer to help with transitions such as getting to the bus on time and brushing teeth before bed. I love that it’s simple and there is no camera on it or distracting games. Everything is controlled from the app on my phone. He’s also more aware of keeping time since he got the watch. I would highly recommend it and am planning to get one for my daughter..Version: 3.3

Great watch, frustrating appWe love the watch! But I have a huge issue with the app. When a notification comes through, I just get a generic “Garmin Jr” notification, and when I open up the app there’s NOTHING to indicate what I’m being notified about! Did my kid send me a message? Did her location change? Did she check off some of her chores? Literally the only way to figure it out is to click on everything in the app until you find the new bit of info. There’s no little red number or flag to let you know what to look at, so you just to click around until you figure it out! It is u believably frustrating, especially for an app that we use primarily as a safety tool for our child! Please, please, PLEASE make it clear what the notifications are actually FOR. Aside from this very very big concern, I have no complaints. But this one is huge..Version: 6.1

GREAT For building responsibility and accountabilityWhen you do this in a routine, you have a cleaner house in my responsible children! There coin redemption is for things like going to the park, pick out a movie for family movie night, another quality time redemptions. My eight and six-year-old love it and have helped me keep the house more tidy on a daily basis. Our bedtime routine includes awarding their points for the day. I just wish that it would sink better. I always have to turn my Bluetooth off and back on. Also, I have turn all alarms off of one of theirs and it still goes off three times in the morning even after checking all settings. I wish you could deduct points too. Like if someone get sent to the room and they get a point taken away. Overall, because my children are rewards driven, this has enhanced our life!.Version: 2.4.1

Makes parenting so much easierWe use this app with their Garmin Bounce watches. It keeps track of where they are when they are riding their bikes around the neighborhood. The points we assign for chores equate to how much they earn in allowance, and they are able to mark off chores as they do them, wait for approval from us before the points are given and can see the points add up. We are able to text and voice message them on their watches, which has put off the requests for cell phones for now and has helped us get in touch with them in an emergency now that they are gaining some independence. This has changed our parenting game! I have recommended this to all our friends..Version: 6.2.1

Updated review after outageUpdate - now that Garmin outage has been resolved we finally have full functionality with the watch. My son loves it and is constantly tracking his activity. I find the chores/rewards functionality very helpful and it’s easy to setup a goal and reward for my son. My only wish is that we could track steps history. You can track history of activity and sleep times but I don’t see steps anywhere. You can only view current days steps. Old -Bought the watch several days back and still unable to connect to the app. Servers have been down (1 star for actually having an outage message in the app). However, not being able to resolve a such a critical issue after so many days seems odd. I guess my 5yr can just stare at the watch till Garmin gets it act together.Version: 4.3.2

Great idea, but little to keep attentionI think this product is a fantastic idea. Both of my girls have the Minnie Mouse Band. They have to get 60 minutes of activity each day to unlock different parts of the story on the app... However, when they get 60 minutes of activity, all that happens on the app is a “pin” moving to a different spot in the game, and a new “card” which gives them a very short blurb of what happens next in the story , opens for them to read... a blurb as short as “Pete steals a piston from Mickey’s car”.... for 60 minutes of activity, that’s not very exciting. They also get to play a quick game, but it’s been the same game every time. This app would be sooo much better if there was animation that opened with each card, where the characters acted out what he kids were reading on the cards... Different games, or surprise gifts that pop up. We’ve only had this 3 days, and they’re getting bored with the story already. They run around the house trying to get their minutes, and when they finally hit their goal, all they get is a new card to read... I’d love more interaction, greater details in story, and animation of characters interacting with each other. It would definitely make it more exciting and motivating for them to get their activity..Version: 3.3

Love it! Needs one thingThis app is excellent for motivating my kids to track their responsibilities. It gamifies their daily routine and helps them set goals, track them, and stay focused. The problem is that I can’t turn off deleting rewards from their phones. This may be because Garmin doesn’t intend my kids to have the tracking app on their own devices, but I do (and honestly I didn’t know that wasn’t intended all along by the developers). So they have access to the app and can track their chores and check them off on their own phones. But they can also delete rewards and add coins to their amounts. I feel this is a feature that could make the app better for parents and kids. The honor system is ideal, but a dream. I turned on kids mode so they can’t redeem rewards on their own, but they can still do it in the phone. If this stuff was only meant to be accessed through the Vivofit watch, then they should specify that somewhere in the app or other literature about the program. Anyway. Excellent app. I love it. But I’d sleep better knowing they can’t simply add coins. It just needs a parental control upgrade. And if it exists somewhere in the app, I can’t find it..Version: 5.2.2

Great purchase! 7 year old sonAre seven year old received this watch for his birthday. We really like that you don’t have to charge it, it has a year battery life. Our son enjoys all his chores with the reward coin system, (we don’t have to ask him anymore to do him chores). It’s easy to use, very motivating, for example we put a goal of 100 coins to earn a $4.99 new book. You can make the goal anything to fit your child’s interest. The app is user friendly, they earn game time on the app for how active they are throughout the day, the games are fun. We are really enjoying this watch, it a great way to instill good/healthy habits for our children..Version: 5.5.1

Vívofit JrOur boys, 13, 11 & 8, love this. They want to see their sleep record every morning. I, their mom, also like looking at how they slept, helps me gauge if they are having sleep disturbances (or staying up all night reading ;) ). They also enjoy having their steps tracked. They are innately competitive with each other and the leaderboard taps into that in a positive way. I appreciate it counting their steps, especially during the school year. It gave me a clear picture on how much exercise they were receiving at school. My one son’s teacher found recess a great time for catch up work in her classroom and it was definitely reflected on my son’s vivofit. I would definitely purchase this again. I have given it 4 stars because the app is sometimes temperamental when syncing..Version: 3.0

Positive reinforcement for fitness and lifestyleA great tool for building independence and motivating kids, especially early elementary ages. FITNESS- The watch celebrates when kids meet their daily steps and activity goals, and the app allows them to “complete a mission” in a storytelling video game as a reward each day they meet their goals. The fitness features are why we bought it (and they are wonderful) but the chores feature was an incredible extra that we love!! CHORES- The app has a fully customizable chore chart with positive rewards that kids can earn through chores. Chores can be set for a schedule—certain days of the week/times, and even be sent to the watch to remind the watch wearer. One app can manage multiple kids’ watches, and other care-givers can be invited to manage the kids’ watches. When setting up chores for one child, the chore can easily be duplicated to every kids’ profile with a click of a button. This app so many thoughtful features for a family!.Version: 6.0.2

Great watch but time to upgrade GarminCould have updated features along with a more smart watch characteristic for children so parents wouldn’t have to upgrade to smart watch for old kids ages 8& up. Because my 8 year old wants an Apple Watch now or any smart watch for that matter. Garmin can come up with a version of smart watch for kids that has gps for parents to track, games to teach time and play for fun, activity tracking, chores, games, rewards for kids the current watch does some of those things but it’s outdated and great for younger kids but now bring something for older technology children. Parents will pay for things that could help make life easier and learning bound for the children at the same time. I can say that this watch helped my kids with daily chores a lot..Version: 4.0

Great purchaseMy kids love this watch! They are always proud by their active minutes and steps each day. It’s a great way to keep them active. I also like being able to add chores and for them to be able to earn stars. I wish the “chores” section was more general and could be edited to allow for for different rewards. I like to acknowledge other positive things too. It’s nice for their dad to be able to track, too. The only downfall is that it needs to sync with my phone so if I’m not around the data isn’t accurate. Also, had an issue with my daughter’s not syncing and I had to delete and reinstall her profile which lost data. I do like that it also tracks sleep. Overall a great product, and app, for the price..Version: 2.4

Could be great...with some tweaksMy kids really enjoy the app. They like to see how they slept, and they love getting clues to discover new animals. It is motivating. The problem I have is that the watch doesn’t always register movement. For example, my daughter is on a swim team and her practices are 90 minutes long. She will get out of the water afterward, and not even half of her practice will register. Same thing happens for other activities, too. It would be nice if there was a way for a parent to go into the activity timer on the app and manually adjust it when things like this happen. It is very discouraging thinking you are getting a clue only to have it come up significantly short through no fault of your own..Version: 2.3.2

AmazingThis watch and this app is done of the best things you can get for your active or lazy kids. If you have an active kid then this tracks their steps and you can set a goal for them. But if you have a lazy kid then this makes exercise fun because when they are active for a certain amount of time then they give your kid a game they can play. Also you can give them chores and when they get the chores don they get however coins you want to give them, when they get a certain amount of coins then they get a reward. This is the best thing to get for your toddler, kid, or maybe even teenager..Version: 5.5.1

Great customer serviceWe ordered this watch for our 5 year old to help with bathroom reminders at school. She was very disappointed when the watch failed to work upon opening it for Christmas. However, Garmin’s customer service was prompt and sent us a replacement watch immediately. No issues with the second watch. She loves it and it has decreased the number of battles around self care tasks (brushing teeth, going to the bathroom and picking up toys). It has made parts of our day run more smoothly. It is a product I’m happy we purchased. Some suggestions for improvements - *allow for unlimited reminders *more pictures to choose from for reminders - it would be really cool to download your own pictures. At a minimum have pictures that match up with chores (a toilet, a toothbrush, toys, comb, medication etc) *allow chores to be viewed from the watch instead of just the number of chores assigned. *make a Wonder Woman, rainbow or unicorn watch (my daughter and her friends would go crazy over these)..Version: 2.3.2

Improvements recommendedI have been buying Garmins for 10 years. I have always bought forerunners. I bought the Garmin Jr for my son when he was 7. We are an active family. I wanted him to understand recommended activity and steps but more important I wanted to use the rewards section to help him become responsible. I love the Garmin Jr. but we need more now. He is now 10. I haven’t upgraded because to me there isn’t many features added that I want or need in the Jr 2 or the 3. I would like to see a Gamin built for ages 10-12 Middle School. Or I would like to see access to the Garmin Jr site from another Garmin device. The most important item I would like to see added for that group is workout activity like swimming, pace. I could buy him a fancy one like the one I have but then there will be no rewards system to use and we love keeping track of that. In middle school responsibilities are SO important. He will also be joining track we would like to see his baseline mile 400 etc. I look forward to new items. Thank you Garmin..Version: 5.3

Almost perfectUsing with my 7yo daughter who has ADHD. I just wish there was a “consequence section” in addition to just the chores and rewards. That aspect is great…to reward chores and such. But I’d like to have a way to deduct points for certain unwanted behavior. I also wish (at least for the bare-bones VivoFit Jr we have) I could change the reminder ‘tone’ b/c it’s become a bit like white noise. My girl will just ignore or not even be aware that a reminder went off b/c the tone is so second nature. But that might be more of a device thing and not so much the app. Bottom line: I love the idea of this. The “move on” via the map are great too…just needs a little more TLC to make it great..Version: 6.1

Fun for kidsThis app, paired with the vívofit jr, is fun for kids. Three of mine have the watch and they compete to see who can get the most activity. I actually love tracking their sleep. And they want to earn coins for doing hires and homework so it’s a good motivator. There are a few goofy things - occasionally the kids’ time will read incorrectly and it doesn’t want to sync immediately to my phone but usually the problem doesn’t last more than a few minutes. And the games are pretty simplistic, it would be fun for them to develop those with selectable grade-level learning. They still love it, though. And the whole system doesn’t cost an arm and a leg when you know kids are rough on their stuff..Version: 3.3

Very goodI really like this watch and corresponding app with a few exceptions. The gps tracking is very accurate. The chores and games are super fun. The only thing that could be improved is when messages come in there is no way to know unless you see the message when it’s sent. There is no notification on the app screen alerting you to an unread message. You also cannot add a family member to multiple accounts. For instance, grandma wants to be on two family accounts but cannot. I also wish that you could type a message when texting, not just a voice or predetermined message. All in all, it’s good..Version: 6.4

AmazingThis app for your watch is amazing I actually put chores I can tell myself what to do this app this app is the reason I have such an organized life because I have a lot of things going on on my plate in this app helps me with everything I’ve put it on and adventure next to my watch it’s as simple as that I got to do and I’m so organized now I get rewards is fair and square I took the money yeah well I don’t take it the app takes it if you do you do awesome it’s extraordinary it helps organize your life as it will mind I have a last things on my plate so how are you get this watch and organize your wireless.Version: 3.3

Needs More Flexibility for School Hour SetupWe are big fans of the Garmin watches and the features on the Garmin Connect App. We recently bought the Bounce watch for our child. We like the Garmin Jr. app, and like the “School Mode” feature to limit distractions during school hours. However, you can only set School Mode for 1 specific period of time. I wish the developers would update the app to allow 2 or 3 periods for School Mode that way my child could interact with the watch during the lunch period but not, for example, between 9-12 pm or 1-4pm. PLEASE work on updating the app to allow for this. This would make the app so much better..Version: 6.0.2

Quick start, kids so excited, but then hiccupsMy kids couldn't quit talking about this tracker. They love it! I like how easy it was to set up and get going. I bought 3 for the kids old enough to use them. They love to challenge each other and are more motivated to get things done. My oldest has become unhappy because it doesn't register all of his steps/ active time. The others haven't noticed. My youngest is sad because his game doesn't work. He earns moves for each 60 min but every time we open his game it shuts the app off! The others work fine, but he is stuck earning useless moves. Any help?.Version: 2.6.1

Should of bought sooner…I’m a mom of 3 and a school bus driver. My kids come on the bus with me, we’re all out the door by 6am everyday. Having to make sure every single thing is done for all 3 of them and myself can be a stressful task especially when the youngest has a rough night because of teething or whatever is going on with a 1 year old. This app has helped our lives so much, she loves the reminder, getting the coins and knowing what she’s doing at what time! This was the best Christmas present we could of bought her. JUST WISH I BOUGHT IT SOONER!!.Version: 6.0.2

Info NeededPRO: My daughter received this from her grandparents and it is great in that she has become more active wanting the activity points (in the beginning, see cons) and completes her chores without being asked. We have never had issues with it syncing. CONS: The only con I have is that I can’t find any information about the adventure and earning badges, my daughter was so excited that she got her minutes and had received several facts but has never earned a badge. I have searched the internet and can’t find any information regarding when they earn a badge and even get the answer to the facts. Would love to know where to find this and I would rate it 5 stars.Version: 2.3.2

Kids GarminMy kids love their watches! Since they got them, they have really learned about time management. They set a daily exercise goal and work hard to reach either their daily minutes of exercise or steps. We have a friendly competition each night on who reached their daily goals. We also give them coins each day for the chores they’ve completed. They trade in coins for things we’ve set up— screen time, ice cream, or a new toy. It’s been a wonderful addition to our lives. Plus, the watches come in fun colors and designs..Version: 5.2.2

Almost 2 years and still awesome! We gave this as a 6th birthday gift. It went almost exactly a year before needing a battery. Awesome! Friends bought different watches for their kids that require almost daily charging and those stopped being worn long ago. Best thing about this is the long lasting battery. It goes in pools, lakes, oceans and to camp and school. Holds up great. Simple to use and track. The first band lasted about a year then we bought new ones - easy and inexpensive. Fine with us. Really pleased with this Vivofit Junior!.Version: 6.3.2

Good but could use some extra featuresGot the vívofit jr for my son for Christmas and he loves it. (I’ve had a tracker for a couple of years and he always wanted to track his too). While it does count his steps and give an estimation of his sleep I wish there was a way for parents to add activity minutes for activities not recognized. I took him to a rock climbing gym for about 90 minutes and he only got “credit” for about 20. I’m concerned that it will be the same when bike riding season starts again. If he doesn’t earn 60 minutes he doesn’t get the clue to the game. I also have been taking advantage of the app for tracking chores and rewards..Version: 3.3

Love this appI love this app because you can do different avatars and you get to do chores and then you do your chores and get points and then if you get points you collect more points and more points you get to get new stuff and you can keep changing it your avatar changing your avatar time and there’s a Calendar and you can put like an animal by your foot and it does your running and does your choice check out your chores has a bucket of toys that you have and thank you for reading.Version: 6.4

This could be a 5 Star App…As the title said, this app could be a 5-star app. The biggest improvement would be allowing a way for a parent to add activity minutes when their child isn’t allowed to wear a watch (ie: my child’s soccer league does not allow watches). Other than that the app is great! The ability to add/create chores and rewards is great. My child also loves getting his activity minutes in so he gan get a “move” in the game. I still would recommend this app, I just would like to be able to add activity minutes and adjust the daily activity minutes goal..Version: 5.2.2

Awesome app!Love this app to go along with the watch! I love seeing my son’s activity, his sleep patterns and keeping up with his chores. It really motivates him on a daily basis to complete his chores to earn coins and redeem them for rewards we have set up. My only problem, if you can call it a problem, is that he completed all of the levels on the game in 7 months. It would be great if as parents we could set a higher goal than 60 minutes for our active kids. He regularly meets his goal X 4 each day, so he moves through the game quickly and loves it. Maybe there could even be more than 12 levels for kiddos..Version: 2.8.1

Easy to use, effectiveMy 6.5 yo daughter loves tracking her activity, steps and sleep! She enjoys the reminders for chores and the chimes when she earns coins. My only input would be this could be improved by: 1) allowing for location tracker so we as parents can see where she is if she were ever lost etc 2) more sensitive motion detector to detect activity. My kid does yoga daily and it counts maybe 1 minute for every 5-10 she does towards her daily activity minutes. 3) a water intake tracker. Something where she could check off that she drank enough water. So far my way around it was to set an alarm reminder to drink water.Version: 3.3

How I got stitches in my headI was going to the pool and my mom is there and my dad and all the kids and my grandma was at her house and I saw a kid doing a front flip into the pool and so I wanted to do it and I did it the next time I tried. I hit my head on the side of the pool and I went to the hops hospital but before I did that, I brought the iPad and I took a drink, and I had some food and then I went there and it hurt. It felt like a needle going through my head which is what what was going on and that is the end the end.Version: 6.4

Well designedThe app is beautiful. The watch is not so distracting so we can allow it to go to school with our first grader. The dim light is because they wear it to bed. My 4 th grade daughter uses the sleep tracker to see how she has slept. It even shows deep and light sleep. After two weeks they are still motivated to get 60 min of exercise, sometimes running around the house for 15 min before bedtime. I do think my kids are fairly active and 60 min is fairly difficult to attain, but I’ve been surprised by they extra effort to do so!.Version: 5.2.1

Great for positive reinforcement!!!We use this for rewarding positive behaviors and so our son can “buy” screen time. He has to hit the activity goal to get screen time at all. Only then does he have access to the coins earned by completing chores. He has several things to choose from of various costs- ice cream shop visit, screen time, etc. he mainly uses it to play Minecraft in whatever amount he has in his virtual piggy bank - basically spending all savings every day. I can’t say we are teaching him financial sense, but his behavior is much better!.Version: 2.7

Great first watch for those not quite ready for apple watchThis is the perfect watch for my 7 year old. I can text and communicate with her, but not have to worry about all the other distractions that come along with an Apple Watch. She loves the preset emojis and the ability to leave voice messages. She enjoys the alarm features that help her be more responsible too. Exactly what we wanted before she aged into a more complex mobile watch. Also fair price and great quality..Version: 6.1

I love thisI love this app it helps so much.Version: 4.3.2

Amazing! My kids love the watch and the app!!.Version: 3.7

Can’t install latest updateNot sure what’s going on. Trying a dozen of times and after syncing for 30 seconds it says that the update failed..Version: 3.5

TimeI can’t adjust the time on my child’s watch.Version: 4.3.2

Surprised how many functions this hasOur son asked for this for Christmas. At first it seemed a little lame but we went for it anyways. Our son loves watching his activity bar fill up and it’s encouraged him to get in as many steps as he can. It has a reminder to get up and move if you’ve sat for 1 hour. You can program reminder alarms for chores/music practice/homework etc, from your phone app. The more things they complete you can choose to reward with coins that they can cash in for incentives. He loves the Star Wars adventure that he can go on. Each day he fills up his activity bar, he earns another step in the adventure that he can read about..Version: 5.1

Best appAmazing game with my friends and family for fun.Version: 3.6

AmazingMotivates the kids well and keeps them very active. Reward system really helped improve his behavior and listening overall..Version: 6.4

PooPoo.Version: 5.1

Better than FitbitThe vivofit jr is great. My son loves it and the battery life is great—I wish it were a rechargeable battery, buts that’s minor. The app is both good for reviewing steps & sleep and updating his watch face. I’d like to have more control over removing days from the averages, such as when he doesn’t where it but it shows 0 steps..Version: 6.4

GARMINI love this so much.Version: 6.4

Amazing!Love the options for parents, my child loves the watch and its functions worth every penny!.Version: 6.4

Bounce watchIt’s great to be able to track and message my son. Setting up boundaries knowing when he gets to and leaves school and home is great. The battery life is awful. The delay in sending and receiving messages and alerts is too much. It’s about 3 minutes from when he leaves a boundary to when we get the message. Also not being able to have the watch make a noise remotely and only via Bluetooth is a poor feature. Should be able to have more than one parent able to connect to the watch via Bluetooth as well..Version: 6.4

If you get a Garman watch, this is the best app to useHIt has games on it and you can track your sleep track how much you move. Love it would 10 out of 10 recommend.Version: 6.4

Lots of glitchesLots of glitches when trying to do live track.Version: 6.4

Good for 7yr oldMy child enjoys being able to send and receive messages with guardians and keeping track of steps! We are happy that we can see where they are and send a message when we need to. The silent feature for school is good to keep them distraction free..Version: 6.4

Good and funI really like this app. It’s very helpful!.Version: 6.4

Garmin bounceThis is a good watch the only thing I don’t like is the delay you get when trying to find the location of your child. Also, there are times when in remote areas that you can do a locate..Version: 6.4

Great deviceHappy with this watch for my kids.Version: 6.4

The bestI love it.Version: 6.4

It’s okNeed to be able to set more timers.Version: 6.4

GreatBecause it is.Version: 6.4

Way better than other smart watchesWhoever made garmin for kids with the chores/games is a genius, adults need a similiar version!.Version: 6.4

GoodThis app is great! I do struggle with it connecting with my daughter sometimes and the messages not going through. But otherwise, it’s been a life saver!.Version: 6.4

Kid loves it! Room for a few more features.Overall my daughter loves it. She’s 3. She hears her goal beep on her watch and she asks right away to check the game. If they don’t reach their time goal, just steps, there’s nothing to do though. The game moves a little slowly with one move per day but she seems to like it. I wish there were better options for step challenges! Seems unfair to go steps for steps with a toddler (although she does sometimes beat me!) Maybe best percentage of goal? I like the idea of the chores but I haven’t put it to much use yet. I like that you can have it on more than one phone. This allows my parents to bring up the game for her when she’s with them. All in all it’s a great way to get my toddler aware of her movements..Version: 6.4

GoodI love it so much it’s fun and helps on a watch!🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍.Version: 6.4

BounceFor my 10 year old, easy to use, peace of mind you can communicate with voice chat or prerecorded messages. Kid can check in. Only con is the battery life is very short and rans within 6-8hrs.Version: 6.4

Jeu redondantUn seul jeu qui se répète.Version: 6.4

Très intéressantCorrespond à mes attentes.Version: 6.4

Chores tracking and alarms keeps kid organizedI have a very disorganized kid. The alarms and chores reminders have been great to keep the kid organized..Version: 6.3.2

Great option to keep in touch with kids while they be kidsGot watches for our two kids as an alternative to a cell phone. Have been using them consistently for a month now and so far very happy! Kids are happy with the independence and its great to see them get outside..Version: 6.3.2

Best purchase I made for my peace of mindThe Garmin Bounce is seriously the best purchase I could ever have made. My kids are getting some independence and an 80’s summer without their mother hovering over them. I’m getting to relax in a quiet house without children begging me to take them all over the place. And I can check in on their location at any time or message them to come back or whatever. I’ve set up pins for all their hot spots around the neighborhood and I’m sent a notification any time they come and go from all over the place. They’ve used the emergency alert function once when at the park and we knew they needed help quick when a friend had fallen off a piece of playground equipment. Seriously worth every cent..Version: 6.2.1

Having trouble with location reporting! We purchased two watches for our two boys and one of the watches is having trouble letting us know the child’s location!.Version: 6.3.2

Garmin JR lacks flexibilityWhen posting and redeeming rewards, if you customize one there isn’t away to repeat it. Also more importantly there should be a redemption history. For example if I customize a pair of shoes, I want to have a record of the redemption. Also would be great to have a “lay-away option”. In short I try to reschedule my kids the value of money through points. It would be better if Garmin redesigned the program for this as most children do not understand the value of money. Help our kids succeed as adults!.Version: 6.3.2

Needs some improvements and updatesLove the idea. Love being able to be in contact with my son. But lots of communication errors. Always having to close the application out and relaunch it to actually see that my son messaged me. There had been times where he has been in a troublesome situation and tried to message me numerous times but I most of the time do not get the notifications and have to keep checking and closing out the app to see. Other than that I love it. I just am really hoping you guys can fix these bugs. Or I have been thinking of canceling and just going with a normal phone and plan. I just through this was so perfect. Thank you for your time. Kyle webb.Version: 6.2.1
