Stary Writing Customer Service

As a writer on these apps for a few years, I was excited to see a notification about the new mobile writing app. More so since I usually do my writing on my phone, the idea is way more convenient. For those of those who assume this helps get your book out there and will instantly have follows and likes, that's not how it works. It's a writing tool and a way to share your work. Sort of like Wattpad or other platforms in that sense. Unless you apply for a contract, you have to share your story to push it out there. I will update as I explore more with the app, but for now this is what I have. Pros: •Has a wonderful FAQ for those who are new to the platform. •Is beautifully laid out for a mobile app compared to some other apps. •Easy access to bolding and italics when directly writing. •Can easily set publish dates if you want to set it for a certain time/date. •Can preview before publishing. Cons: •One flaw I have noticed is this: If you write on the desktop version and go to edit it on your phone, it has coding issues. Instead of paragraphing like when you do so on the mobile and draft it, a pre-desktop-draft will have things such as "<p><br></p><p>" •When highlighting already existing text to bold/italicize, you have to hit the pop up menu via the copy/paste option to do so vs hitting the B/I at the bottom of the app.

Payments made from my books this month will not allow me to withdraw my funds. I get to the confirm payment and it’s like the button doesn’t work. I’ve restated my phone and the app and still nothing. I love this app and this is the first problem I’ve had. Communication is pretty good not sure why I can’t withdraw this month!!!

I’ve yet to have any issues with the app and enjoy that I can write using my iPad Air with a keyboard case attached so I can write whenever and wherever I want to. I’ll update my review if I come upon any issues.

Why are you making us apply for contract, I wanna write my books on this app, whenever my mom gets it so where we can apply for contract, it says that we’re not qualified

As a writer, I love using the Stary Writing app. However, I’ve recently come into an issue where several of my episodes in a book have been revamped and republished for several weeks and haven’t updated in the Dreame app like the other revamped episodes. I’ve contacted the Stary Writing support on three different occasions through their feedback over the last several weeks and haven’t heard anything back. Very disappointing as the revamped episodes are crucial to the story.

I like the app it’s fun sharing my story with others but I wish it was easier to rearrange chapters after I publish them and my biggest upset is that when I applied for a contract, it gives notice of the date and then says I’ll have a reply within 14 working days but it’s past that and I’ve gotten no response not even a response when I leave feedback asking for an update on status. It’s a good app if you just want to share your love of writing with others, bad if you want to make something for your your story. No app support, no customer service!

When I logged in on the app for the first time one of the options to choose from was to log in with my Apple ID. I did this and it’s been working great up until today. I wanted to write an authors note for one of my chapters. The app doesn’t allow you to do so. When I tried logging on via the website using my Apple ID wasn’t an option.

I’ve liked this app so far but I have noticed my drafted episodes keep rearranging themselves. Episode 1 will somehow magically turn into episode 2 or 3 even after I’ve saved it and closed out. Rather annoying but right now copying and pasting has worked until I’m 20 episodes in and it’s just a jumbled mess

They are not paying authors, going in and changing chapters and book covers without permission or knowledge. A lot of the editors are outright disrespectful and no matter how many emails you send them they will outright ignore you. Many authors have audiobooks and have been in there for a month to a year or more and have not been paid for anything because Stary will not pay them for it and is taking the money. Do not write for these people. You will regret it.

I haven’t been able to reach either of my completed draft chapters, I’ve looked all through the app for help and now that my cover has been approved my story is gone. It’s uniquely frustrating, I only want to be able to be able to publish my drafts later. Or at least get to them so hours of writing doesn’t go to waste

I loved uploading stories. However, now it won't login and when go through their website it shows I have nothing and like I'm a new user. I have sent email but still waiting to hear back. I've tried different ways and it still does same thing. Very frustrating

I just downloaded the app and I read the guidelines and it will not let me agree and press okay

I applied for a contract that I never signed or agreed too and when I went to delete my book from the app I got a notification saying that my book was signed and couldn’t be deleted. My book was stolen and I will be taking legal action if they don’t remove it. The editor I was contacted by is named Elio who I have emailed and knows I didn’t sign or agree to any contracts. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WRITING FOR THIS COMPANY. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I was told that my gargoyle romance has descriptions that are too detailed and have nothing to do with the main story. Actually, yeah they do. I’m trying to set the stage as it were and explain things about gargoyles that a reader would need to know. I’ going to finish the story and have it published elsewhere, along with my werewolf romance.

I thought this would be great to promote my new book but it’s not useful for longer books like mine. This would be useful for short stories or novellas.

Scam artist I posted a book last month on the 20th and it was rejected today, but when I went to their app Dreame my book is there brightest day available for free for anybody to read disassemble take my book off of your app since I am not eligible

It’s alright. I’ve got two chapters published but I’m not sure how the app gets other people to read the stories you publish....

Everything I click on, I get an error. Nothing is working.

I understand the new features of Stary. However taking out the "EDITING" feature of the application for the writers is hindering us to make our stories better. This is not the way your company should react to plagiarism and cheating of the writers. It is truly unfair to those writers who dedicate their passion to the company and the readers. Bring back the editing feature. The grammar checker feature doesn't even work! What a lousy update of the app. I am starting to be disappointed with the company. Not only that they hold my entire 2021 income.It is also taking so long. You are taking the writers freedom to better our stories from locking our stories. Yes, you paid us to write. But you don't own our story. It is a shared rights. Bring back the EDITING FEATURE and UNLOCK our STORIES! Have you even think twice before you updated the feature? Your company will slowly go down by dragging your writers down! Taking out the editing features means we can not edit our stories for typos and technical issues! This feature should have been left untouched! Instead you should have reprimanded the writers that violated the company rules. Not everyone is at fault. Consider how stressful it is to your writers. Your company will wake up one day that nobody wants to write for your platform anymore because of your unjust and haist decisions.

Can you please change it back you can save offline. I was writing at my cabin with no internet access and can’t save. I always could before since yesterday can’t. Grrrr

When I am trying to write, a screen pulls up with policies and stuff. I can’t hit OK as the screen is frozen!
