My name is Aaron. I am an OTR professional driver. My first driving experience started in the fall of 1983 when I was an army reservist. However, it would not be until 2005 that I would actually make it my official career path and attend a school to obtain a Class A CDL. It’s been near 20 years. 19 officially this year. I don’t recall what technology was out 20 years ago. I will say that this instrument that I am using was not available in the current capacity that it is now and that I use it for. I love my Garmin Dezl OTR 1000. I don’t know where I would be without it. OK, I’d be lost. Lol. I still keep a rand. McNally Atlas in my truck at all times. There have been times when I’ve used both my GPS unit and the Atlas together. Only have I ever had to do this a couple times. Usually when I want to look at an entire state and or cities at the same time, I’m looking at directions. I’ve had this unit for about four years now. I checked out the competition and decided Garman was the choice for me. I’ve also had the Garmin 700. Due to the high success and user-friendly of this unit, I wouldn’t even begin to think of trying a GPS unit from another manufacturer. Thank you to all the people at Garman for making this drivers drive less frustrating places is easier to find and most of all they safer way for me to travel
Had this device for 4 months does what its supposed to no subscription out the box is the icing on the cake. You can please some of the customers some of the time however you can’t please all of the customers all of the time. Thank you Garmin, my only concern now is that the screen doesn’t stop working it kept dropping off the cradle ball joint securement thing lost a section of the wall now on one corner of screen there is a cluster of tiny white light showing up when screens on in the background the device seems pretty rugged 👍🏾
Garmin will never admit to this, but this app came into existence, as I worked with Garmin engineers for the past good several weeks. I wrote many emails and sent several diagnostic logs from the previous Drive App; and my OTR800 GPS. I proved to support how the previous Drive App wasn’t working very well with Bluetooth; especially with PrePass. Sometimes I would get notifications, other times I wouldn’t get anything at all. I even told them of the bad reviews the Drive App was getting for a long time. I suggested to Garmin to do a complete rewrite of the app from scratch. Hopefully correcting the PrePass notification and Bluetooth connection issues. So far, the new Dezl App was able to connect to my OTR800, and the PrePass feature seems to be updated! I have yet to test this out for notifications being sent to the GPS properly. It’s impressive to see the Pilot and Love’s features added! I am able to see my Pilot information on the GPS screen! *** But I took one star because even after logging into my Love’s account and giving it authorization, there’s no information! The GPS screen tells me to log into my Loves account on the Dezl App. I did that several different ways, but still tells me regardless to log in anyway. So that might need to get fixed. I have already reset the Bluetooth connections and reinstalled the Dezl App several times, doesn’t fix the Love’s connection issue. It might be a poor signal from the phone, so will give it a good day or two before having to send another support message to Garmin. I will edit this as I know more. Anyway, give this app a try if your past frustrated with the previous Garmin Drive App.
This app in nice but not perfect at all. First, it needs a UI redesign. Cause it’s looks like back in to 2010… common guys, it’s 2023, there a lot of apps with amazing user interface!!! Second, please, add more features! Third, you are a HUGE company! I don’t believe that you don’t have enough resources to upgrade your app! There is a thousands of truck driver who’s use your GPS device, so please do something to upgrade your service! And that’s I didn’t even mention your slow working gps navigation! For this money it’s should work at least like some Samsung smartphones/tablets, but not like cheap Chinese smartphones for $150! Thank you! Hope you will fix it!
It’s a good app to send addresses over but I just wish it gave us the ability to edit some address locations and update some new roads/routes as well. It frustrates me that the Garmin has to tell me to turn around many times when it thinks I’m on a dirt road when I’m actually on a newly built highway. It also frustrates me that many times the address for the building is not even close to where the trucks entrance is at. So it would be really nice to be able to create a pin of where the actual trucks entrance is at so that you’re not scrambling around last minute trying to figure out where the entrance is and which way to go.

This is a great tool to have in your toolbox! I’ve been using the Garmin dezlCamOTR710 for about two months and the directions have been great and right on target! And the speed change and lane departure warnings and signals have been very helpful and useful for keeping me alert and aware of the posted speed changes!! The dash camera works and looks great! The picture quality and resolution is excellent and the loop recording feature ensures a constant recording! The weather feature has also been very helpful! -Dropping the Mic
I just bought the Garmin 1010. It doesn’t have all of the stuff you may find in Google Maps, or Waze. But it offers A LOT of things that are necessary, like traffic and you can add your Pilot and Loves accounts (which I have, very helpful). It also provides other real time updates to the GPS, like weather (I think that comes from the phone) and notifications from your phone which I find really helpful. Truly, it does what I need it to, and it has more than enough for what I’m doing with Trucking. :)
I use this app alongside my Garmin Truck GPS. Garmin has provided a way to share basic internet access to your device, sharing traffic, weather, and other great features via Bluetooth. Rand McNally requires a WiFi hotspot. Garmin also has superior hardware and more routing options than its competitors. The only criticism that I have is that routing doesn’t see/list the many Kwik Trip truck stops in the Midwest of the United States. A lot of truck stops are missed or are not visible. Rand McNally definitely shows more in route.
I’m elated with my Garmin Dezl 800 purchase. It’s simply the finest experience you can purchase, these days, where you can get an actual support person on the line in less than 5 min (all cases)…AND they take driver feedback VERY SERIOUSLY. If you make improvement suggestions, don’t be at all surprised to see Garmin incorporate in some manner (solving your wish list). My wish list has been whittled way by Garmin..I’d have to sit down and think very carefully, now, to even come up with 1 wish list item.
Worth the money for the gps I’ve had mine for at least 5-7years now I believe and with all the improvements and fixes the only thing I could wish for is them getting rid of or making an option to turn the mic off on the gps because it constantly interrupts my radio and it’ll start doing a search based on what it thinks I’m asking and it’s just a podcast playing. Otherwise solid device solid app.
I had a Garmin Dezl 580 LMT-S I always had issues with Smart Link to a certain extent especially trying to pair once it was hooked. It was fine. This is doing a lot better and I’m liking the GPS is taking me a little bit better routes than the other one would I have the Garmin OTR 610 perfect size and it works wonderful. Routing is great so far and the app just told me I have an update for the GPS that’s a huge improvement right there.
This thing is awesome, I wish it was around 20 years ago when I started driving a big truck. I have an iPhone 11 and when I walk away from the garmin then come and ready to leave my spot the BLE doesn’t connect and I have to do it manually, other than that it’s great I love that you can see what you’re stop looks like before you get there.
Garmin has been excellent for the past 4 years I’ve been working as a truck driver, the app connectivity is a little complicated, as the bluetooth syncing is not a direct pairing system, connecting could be challenging at times, app doesn’t give much access to the GPS device, should have a direct reporting on the road issues
Ok love that the app works well but man there is such a lack of features. I don’t understand why there can’t be more control from the app. Why can’t I see my saved locations? And plan route from my phone. Just seems really simplified and could definitely be better. With the amount of money you guys charge for these things you would think that there would be more put into the app. But what do I know I’m just a truck driver
Gives me faster routes then the Trimble and has many great features packed in to one. Able to search for truck stops without interrupting my current navigating. User friendly and it hasn’t put me on any restricted roads. Tried to make me use the Express Lane on I-95 in Northern VA…not quite sure why when no tractor trailers are ever on it except small box truck trucks
Love this GPS, I drive long haul tractor trailers for a living and this app and device has real time data that has redirected me from traffic jams and road limits for trucks. It has paid for itself 10 times over. I won’t go over the road without it. It won’t let you down and will save you thousands of dollars in tickets. A must have in this business.
Truckin 4 years, but 3 years with dezlotr700. Very reliable on bridges, routes, connects to phone in many ways, its like a laptop if you know how to use it. Do your updates on the gps and never leave home without it. This thing has saved me many times, and to be honest its trustworthy. I wonder can you jail break this thing though????
The new app overall is going good for my OTR1000, but no matter how many times I sign in and out, the gps keeps telling me to sign into my love’s account on the Deźl app to see rewards on the gps screen itself. I’ve don’t that several times and it still keeps saying to sign in on the app to view them. It works fine with my pilot/FlyingJ app, but not the Loves one. Please take a look at this!
I use the Garmin Drive app with the Garmin DEZL OTR 700. In the past updating Garmin products was a nightmare. I almost gave up on the brand several times. BUT I DIDN'T. The Garmin Team has obviously put their minds together and achieved success. Updating Garmin products and apps work really great now and they are constantly improving on the details all of the time now. We put over 100,000 miles on our vehicle every year because of the business we are in and the Garmin GPS’s, Dash Cams and Garmin apps are a huge asset and tool in our life. Thank you Garmin Team for continuing to work hard, and stay dedicated to your customers. We depend on You! Chris And Patricia Shark Management Group LLC
Unlike one other I had before, this functions as it should. Recalculating route is very fast, usually in mere seconds. I do wish it had better printed instructions, but it is very user friendly and I have figured out most things! I highly recommend this over competitor products!
The GPS works very well. It has taken me to where I need to go within a decent time. The only thing I would recommend is more detail when you need to turn to get off the exit but overall it’s very good, very consistent and really accurate. Can’t wait for the update when it shows you where the police are.
I’m coming from an old dezl 770lm. This 1010 is a game changer. Here is what I like. - the screen is bigger - the app on the phone that can be use for multiple purposes ex updating the software, sending the address of your destination from your phone .. etc - much stable than the other brand.
Haven’t done to much but so far everything i have done with the app to the device has been awesome. I just swapped driving spots and send a new location from my phone to the GPS so driver didn’t have to mess with the GPS or pull over and worked perfectly!!
It’s is easy to use even though app. Pairs with phone to see traffic and has always been right on backups. While paired with phone also tells you what song is coming on next if you streaming music as well. Can’t go wrong
There could be all the heads set features in the app itself. Should be able to do more with the Garmin with features as well. App is a minimum detailed app. Not much you can do with it. Should also be able to do more with the loves app in the Garmin itself. Other than just see your points.
Works pretty good I have just been using my gps now for a couple of weeks still getting to trust it so I also still use google maps to compare my routes but it has saved me from turning on roads that I’m not allowed on in my truck
I peddle freight in NYC with all kind of trucks and trailers. I travel assured that all recordings my Garmin is able to record I can hold any party including myself liable for any incident that may occur. Extremely important. Recordings are clear with sound. For 10 bucks a month it’s worth it!
Live traffic is great hooks right up to my iPhone. Very accurate. Works like a champ. Otr 800 is awesome I was skeptical after reading some negative review from the windshield mount to connection issues. The windshield mount is great doesn’t move or even budge. The connectivity is great haven’t had one issue.
I didn’t realize the options it has to offer great purchase worth the money , The only issue that I’ve noticed is the delay when using this item not as fast as I would expect
Reliable, accurate & easy to work. I love how I can see so much stuff that is ahead of me, like truck stops, rest areas & red light cameras. It makes driving a lot easier & not so stressful. You are in good hands behind the wheel when you have a Garmin
I’ve been using my Garmin for three months and I have no complaints. I use it in conjunction with my atlas, Google Maps, and company’s device. Each one has its moments, but in tandem you can’t go wrong unless you only go with Google Maps. Without hesitation I’d recommend DEZL.
Please add the ability to share a location directly from Google Maps to the dēzl app. This would greatly simplify navigation for truck drivers. Right now we have to copy coordinates manually, which is not safe or convenient on the road. Thank you!
Good app, connects right away, never a hassle to setup every morning or anytime of the day to get on the road. Live updates and reroutes come in quick before you get stuck on retention time. Awesome tech!
I like this app but creators can you add function like google maps and Garmin Dezl navigators touch and hold on screen for opportunity build trip to this point. Some time we (truck drivers) get load to new buildings that not already yet marked on the map properly. And this way will help us adore your app more.
It’s a Garmin I’ve had one before and they are an excellent product. I highly recommend it . It connects to your phone and Bluetooth so no need to see multiple devices while driving . Very accurate and good screen size .
Been using this app for a few years now. It’s easy to use and sometimes when the address doesn’t come up on the gps you can just sent it through this app and problem solved.
It was hit at miss for a bit, especially after I received a software update, but then I realized that the app that goes on your phone can be used to make things easier
Professionnel
Je l’adore
All that you need to know on the road my garmin dezl it has
Make my Garmin 710 works flawless and easy
Best app for gps
Absolutely awesome
Very helpful easy to operate
Great job , user interface is easy.

If you’re a trucker you should have this. it’s a great tool. Been in my truck for one year now. Excellent product and exceeded my expectations. Customizable features for your preferences… 10 out of 10. And I bet they figure a way to improve it … but it’s made my job easier and saves me time and money. Paper maps and phone calls to customers for directions are a thing of the past.
I can’t get a better one
Much needed or best app for truckers 🫡👌
Bestie
Very good
I really love this app, its so easy to put address on Garmin with the help of this app.
Excellent!!
I’ve never had a problem with this app. It always did be good. Love this app. It’s really good app.
I like it
Very nice
The app is good. Never had any issue. It makes your work really easy.
It’s perfect. Easy to use
Really easy to use
All good service
User friendly
It’s okay to have this app but doing nothing
Nice one
Very Good Navigation
That what make it easy to use Garmin burhhhh🥳
App is working awsome its easy to find routes rather than typing on the gps itself
Très simple et efficace. J’adore le traffic en temps réel.
Good Gps for Truck navigation
Excellent, very helpful.
I am using this app from last 2 years and it has helped me everywhere in canada thanks dezl for always being there as my trip companion
I’ve owned a few GPS’s but this one by far is the best and most accurate. Still needs some work in the programming. I tested it out taking a route I know and have travelled a more times then I’d like to admit. It routed me around the route I take and took an extra hour. This is a great option for drivers who are new to the road, as for us old drivers nothing will ever beat the Rand McNally road atlas, but this used with that are the best tools in your box.
The best application!!!
Great Service
Must have for a driver. The constant improvement in the device has made it real easy to use.
Great
Good Awesome app experience and helpful for me just putting address in app and gsp will pick up right away
I strongly recommend this App for your OTR710 Garmin, you can’t go wrong with it. Best investment I ever made.
Best gps I ever had!!!
Good
This app is so simple and easy going.
It’s better
Dēzl™ Negative Reviews and Ratings
I’ve had my Garmin OTR 720 for a month. GPS is great but the app worked when I first got it and does not now. Very frustrating, I can connect my phone to the Garmin without the app fine without issue but when I try to use the app it just wants to reconnect constantly and never actually connect to recognize both devices. It started this after it asked me to do an update to the GPS software thru the app. Sent the update to the Garmin and then boom won’t connect anymore. I think the app needs an update to correct this issue because everything else that could be tried I’ve already tried. I even went the support page online from Garmin and performed every troubleshooting step and got no where. Please fix this!
It’s not the worst app but I most definitely wish it had more features. I have the Garmin OTR700 and all I can do with this app is “set up my device”. I wish there were things I could check on the app instead of checking it through the gps. And I wish there were more Traffic update features. Would be really cool if they could somehow partner with Waze to have good frequently updated routes to avoid traffic. The gps does update but it’s not as reliable as Waze, but us truckers know Waze doesn’t account for you being in an 18 wheeler. Final review not bad but could be better.
I recently purchased a brand-new OTR710, updated it to the latest version, and set my height to 14’0”. For context, I’m a car hauler and had just picked up four 2500 RAMs. When I entered my destination, the device immediately stated that no routes were available for my height. Instead, it offered a route with a maximum clearance of 13’11”, leaving me with the option to either accept a potentially unsafe route or figure it out myself. Thankfully, I had a buddy familiar with the area who guided me safely, but this experience was beyond frustrating. For such an expensive device, the lack of accurate routing for tall loads is unacceptable. If I could, I’d give it a negative -5 stars.
I’m not sure who exactly to address this to, but before the latest iOS update, I was able to share routes directly from Apple Maps to my Garmin. This feature was unique to Apple Maps, and it was extremely convenient. Now it’s suddenly gone. Please bring it back — it made a huge difference in daily use! And while you’re at it, it would be amazing to see this feature added to Google Maps as well. It would make the navigation experience even better.
1. Sometimes (pretty often) it’s just refuse to see GPS device in the app, even in Bluetooth settings of the smartphone it is connected! . OTR800 and iPhone 14 pro. 2. UI of the app is terrible. Make input line of address always on the same spot and updates under it. 3. And other problem, but with device (otr800) it restarts by itself (without any reason) sometimes (not very often) and froze. Need to restart manually. Happened dozens of times for the last 3 years.
I’ve had connectivity issues with my OTR 800 from the beginning, but it only started as a minor inconvenience. Over the last few months it’s been getting progressively less reliable. Both in disconnecting randomly while driving, as well as being incredibly frustrating in not wanting to reconnect. Being that there has been major iOS software updates since the previous DEZL update, I’m guessing that is where the issue most likely lies. Why wouldn’t a company as used as this, update their apps monthly or quarterly, bare minimum?!?
First of all the gps did a great for until this last update. After the update the mapping was locked and it would not show up my route. All my other routes were still stored but the mapping was locked and would no longer navigate. I used the app and everything that it said to do but mapping was still locked. So I ordered another one in hopes that the same thing doesn’t happen again. Going to send the other one back and see if garmin can fix it.
Due to “safety” features that manufacturers keep forcing on us, connecting for traffic information renders the device useless. Connecting the phone or ipad makes the volume on the unit so low I cannot hear it over the truck. Add to that they give us a Love’s feature we cannot sign into. All I get on my dezl app is a login button, but there are no fields to put login information into. Useless there as well. I guess paying so much for the OTR1000 grants you a basic GPS with a larger screen. Since we pretty much cannot use any smartphone features with it, that makes all of my expectations go way down for Garmin. Guess my next upgrade will be the new Rand TND1050. One star for this app, since connecting it makes volume useless and no true Love’s integration. Garmin never reads these, but potential customers do, so I hope this helps you in consideration of your next GPS purchase.
The app works great with th few things it will actually let you do with it. Don’t know why it has to be so seclusive and not let you add other devices that you use along side the GPS every day like a dashcam. It’s sad that all you can use the app directly for is sending an address to the device (no ability to build or edit an entire route). Just seems like it has soooo much more potential to be this thin of an app.
I paid $400 for truck navigation to makes me do some stupid stuff on the road. Can you at least update or do some thing this is the worst experience I ever had. I was on the road. I had 35 minutes to drive save the time pops up. I click go and now I have to drive 120 minutes. Construction in new roads are not updated. It’s keeps sending me down the wrong roads are time calculation never works. It only shows your traffic on the road. Once you enter the traffic if I could give zero stars I would.
Not entirely sure why they needed to put out a new app for all this, but the integration of having pilot in Loves is a start the fact that you can only view your points and find locations Kind of makes it useles. It would be nice if they can get the new apps to function like the apps would on our phones like Daniel to pay for fuel from the Garman reserve a shower and see how many showers are available
I cannot get the app to send notifications to my navigation. I’ve tried everything to no avail. I’ll click the notifications button on the main screen but it keeps saying “connect to the dezl app to receive notifications”. But it is connected. Everything else including live traffic works fine.
This location doesn’t have all the amenities of the large truck stops but it does serve 3 meals a day, has a bar. Has a small fuel island to fuel just about anything. It doesn’t have charging stations or the type of people that use them. If you need fuel, something to eat, a cold drink, a restroom or place to park for a nap it’s got all of that.
It could be much better than what it is now, Garmin itself is slow and other than putting address on the GPS, this app does nothing else, even then you will have to choose the option to confirm the address on the GPS itself. Why I don’t have the same functionality to control the GPS over the phone that I have through GPS itself.
It will be more convenient for us if we can see map on this app
Address sharing does not work on iOS 26
I bought a 610 garmin because that I wanted to know were all the road bans were and now there are a few highways that I have driven along which is a primary highway the gps tells me it is a non truck route and I called in about it and they wouldn’t change one route in particular highway 9 there is a scale and a big truck stop on it. It is not worth it paying 400$ for a garmin gps
Don’t buy don’t pay attention for this device, because u have risk of wrong way and wrong information, and if u have camera device (710) absolutely not working properly!
