Totally worth it!!!I bought this app thinking that it wouldn’t be so much that it provided but I was wrong. This provided so much and it was so easy at first you’re kind of scrolling and you’re like what the heck does this do,but once you get just of it it’s so easy. It took me maybe five minutes just to finish the photo and I did every tool it provides and it was worth it because in the end, it was so cool. you can make anything look cool on this app and you don’t have to buy stuff like I thought you would and it’s so much fun because you have every tool and you don’t have to buy anything you don’t have to get membership. You don’t have to do anything and this made me ◡̈⋆ⒽⒶⓅⓅⓎ😊 because I have the apps I buy you have to get lots of stuff and it’s frustrating but this one it was way funner. Best mobile editor for over 10 yearsSnapseed has been my go-to editing app since years before they were bought out by Google. It is extremely uncommon to find an app that refuses to deviate from its excellency (especially after being acquired), so I was nervous about the new layout update. I shouldn’t have been; the Snapseed team has never let me down. I am surprised this is not the #1 photo editor on the App Store. I have introduced plenty of talented creatives to Snapseed who now use it as their primary editor—sometimes even over Adobe. Exceptional photo editorI have used for years . Love this app. But the latest updates have ( in my opinion), cheapened the image of the app . I am talking about the imogies and the platform look. It used to be “Classy”.. now it’s gimmicky .. The functionality remains great , altho’ I have noticed a new glitch where I can’t get out of a current editing session, and select a new image . It seems that most of the time I have to completely exit out of the app and restart . This needs to be fixed pleeeese! Was my go to app, no moreI still use the app for a few things but the newest version really list ease of use and some of the updated aspects just aren’t as good as they were. I worked in IT for years and our upgrades were often a mess. Software Engineers having no experience using the applications we’re deciding on how it should be used. Didn’t work for labs and not working for photo edit apps This was the beginning point for almost all my edits. Current update has at least added back Grunge but Detail/Sharpen is still bad... I have to sharpen, reload that photo and sharpen again. It used to work great. Most of the edit options aren't nearly as good as they were. Excellent Photo Processing Tool, Fast and Nimble.I have several post processing software programs on my desktop to include Photoshop, Lightroom, Corel PaintShop, and Topaz products. I find myself consistently going back to Snapseed to translate and clarify what I intended with my photo. I can improve the overall quality of any photo with a few touches or apply a dramatic flair with really very little effort. Literally, my preferred “go-to” over the others and very affordable. One of the best editing apps ever.Looove this editor! Completely free to use, with all tools and everything. I generally use this for selective editing bc i always forget to edit my photos on their own and when i put them together and i just do a full edit on the entire picture, one might look perfect, another way too dark. But with the selective (my favorite btw:) I can edit those pics on their own when they are put together in an image. Amazing photo editing app!I heard about Snapseed on tiktok and decided to try it out a few months ago and it's been my favorite and best app that I've encountered and have been using this app for my photos ever since I downloaded it! The only thing that I wish was added was a video editor too. Very impressive update, butI use Lightroom Mobile as my main photo editor. I love it, it does everything I need it to. Although most higher end features are subscription based. So I came back to my original photo editor, which is snapseed after hearing about the update. It has everything I need now, plus paid features for free unlike Lightroom but the only issue I have which isn’t usually an issue on most apps is the sliders feel stiff so if that could be polished to more left to right easier or smoother rather I’d be able to change my rating to 5 stars..Casper9230Version: 4.0.0

My Review of SnapseedI have no other words than this: it doesn’t even compare to any other "free photo editors." Usually, the competition offers a free service but with the stipulation that you agree to them shoving advertisements in your face, or they hide the best features behind a "paid version" like Adobe Lightroom. It’s almost all I need for my photosI love this app. But I found some annoying bug in the v4 update. While editing raw images, the histogram in the corner won’t update when I’m doing adjustments. It’s kinda one of the most important thing in my workflow. It’d be nice that you can fix it soon. Btw it’d be also nice that you can consider a better icon for the loading and camera. My favorite photo editorThere are flu editors with more features than this app, but but I find myself being drawn back to Snapseed for the vast majority of my edits. The user interface allows for quick basic adjustments and the ability to apply looks that I have created previously saves time. I especially like the filters, and healing brush, as well as the fonts. Like the older version betterI have used Snapseed for years and it’s a great editing app. But recent changes have made it more work for me. It now requires an extra step to first import photos, and then when saving it does not default to a separate folder, thus requiring finding the edited photos in my main photo stream. I'm won overAfter fiddling around with this app on several photos I was very unimpressed at the beginning.. I continued using Camera+ and Photo FX apps (my pre favorite editing apps). But after using it and doing a comparison test on a few photos comparing the results from this app, to my others.. There is no comparison.. This wins. this app literally has everything those 3 have combined and more. It's auto level balancing is 100% more accurate and show better results than any other I've seen. Not only that, but it has a clarity slider (you know clarity in camera+ that has NO slider!!). That basically sealed the deal for me. If you are even considering buying this app, just do it. The best photo app on my phone.This app has completely taken over for all of the styling apps I normally use for my mobile photos. I've used a load of other apps for photo editing on my iphone, and Snapseed does the job of all of them combined, and then some. The interface is really easy to navigate, the level of control is fantastic, and all of the options are adjustable, not just set filters to apply. I was a bit hesitant due to the $4.99 price tag, but really?! it's only $4.99, I spend more than that on a coffee & a bagel... too many people seem to think that anything more than .99c is overpriced, but this is an incredibly capable editing app, and look at Hipstamatic, you pay for the app, and then sink another $6 into additional hipstapacks, so it's no different... except that Snapseed by far surpasses the capabilities of Hipstamatic.... Snapseed: Photo Editor Negative Reviews

This app used to be great but not anymoreSnapseed was the photo editor I recommended to everyone. It was clean, easy to use, and actually had really useful and powerful tools. Then came the redesign. What a godawful mess! They’re so proud of their little animations when they should have done more user testing instead. The adjustments are no longer intuitive. You often can’t see exactly what you’re doing because your finger is in the way of the tool interface. I often end up switching between tool modes because the adjustment movements are too close to the movements that switch things. When you finish an adjustment they fling the tool menu up in front of your image instead of allowing you to judge the result properly. Then there’s the whole “library” thing where I have to have a separate photo library inside the app. The user experience just blows now. I keep the app on my phone for literally one reason alone and that’s the vignette tool. It has the best adjustments of any vignette tool that I’ve found. But that’s it. It’s the last thread keeping this app around for me. It’s seriously terrible now when it used to be so clean and pleasant to use. I have tried for a while now to get used to this new iteration but I really just want to go back to the old version. It was far superior in every aspect. REALLY hate the new design!I do not know what the Snapseed team was thinking when they took a very elegant design of an app that has been amazing for the ten or twelve years I've used it, and then turned it into an app that looks like as clunky as ipad apps looked in 2010. The worst part is that everything takes up way more space now so the photo appears smaller on the screen while you work on it. Everything used to live in a half inch strip on the side but now it takes up like 2 inches, plus it also has stuff covering the bottom inch or more of the screen. Who the heck thought that would be an improvement?? Previously, the gauge that showed the changes, was a nice, simple line that took up barely any space…now it is replaced with a gigantic rainbow shaped gauge. I do not need to see it that big to confirm if it's what I want. I would rather see my photo and what that looks like! This new version is horrendous and I hope the developers will dial it back a lot to at least give the photo more space to work on it. Go back and take a look at how it was and make the photo at least that big. I never would've updated to this, but I got a new ipad so I was not able to get the old version back, but I would if I could. Five Stars for old versionThe new user interface with the loss of functionality — this has turned Snapseed from my go-to quick editor, cropper and image size reducer — into frustration anytime I automatically go to the app, expecting the old version. I came here to read the most recent reviews to see if I was missing or overlooking something. I was glad to see some long term Snapseed users experiencing the same 5 Stars to 1 Star types of frustrations. It’s better than 1 star if you are a new user. If you have been using the old version for as long as you can remember looking for a decent free smartphone photo editing app… it’s a major disappointment. Bring back landscape editing!!!!!I have been using Snapseed from literally day 1 and was always a better app to me than anything out there Lightroom included. Lightroom and lame Adobe take away the ability to work in landscape mode and now Snapseed does too for real Snapseed?!? You are ruining this app with these lame updates the new overhaul is horrible and will never say otherwise you guys dropped the ball with that one....completely ruined it intuitively wise and what was great is now just average if that like any other childish app out there! Sorry, I'm tapping outI tried to give the new layout and editing mechanics a chance, but after a month of using it, I spend more of my time trying to use the app than editing a photo. Using the app has become a frustrating experience. Before the update, everything was easy to find and easy to use. Not perfect, but 90% there. This new update is more like 40% close to perfect. It feels like someone who doesn't know anything about photography decided to rework this app, but in the process, they broke it. The free version of Lightroom is better, so I'm deleting this app now (it wasn't prior to the update). I've loved using it for the last 8 years, but I won't deal with the frustration. Totally awful.Totally awful but decide by yourself. When you have an iPhone that only goes to 12mp in resolution you don’t mind it but supposedly, newer iPhones go up to 48+mp and only to be reduced in half or more by the app that you use to edit with. (Snapseed is one of them). What is the point of adding more features to the app if the users cannot use full resolution on their photos? What’s the point of making a sensor that can record light up to 50, 60 or 100 megapixels if portrait mode only records 24 or 12? But that’s another story. RUINED A GREAT APP!When Google bought this app, it was BY FAR the best photo editing app i have ever used. I have been using it since before Google bought it and named it Snapseed. The selective feature allows dodging and burning and this makes it stand out from other editing apps. I always feared that they would ruin it, and they have - the current app is simply awful. Note: The good reviews are for the original app, not the new one. Everything I try is worse: -No landscape view makes it harder to see detail while viewing the whole photo; -Controls work in reverse of what is intuitive - to increase brightness, you must swipe in the Negative direction. Stupid! -It is now MUCH harder to move between menus and between edit choices on the same menu. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL APP CONTROLS AND LAYOUT! PLEASE!! New update has ruined a simple and effective photo editorSnapseed was largely unchanged for years and with good reason, it was easy to use, and had a clean, simple interface. Then they rolled out a new update. Took a bit of getting used to, but I was still using it. Now it’s awful. The burn/dodge tool used to be one of my favorites. Now I tried a dozen times to use it and every time end up with a huge swipe of burned area across my image. App Freezes No Longer WorksI’ve been using this app since the beginning to edit my photos and I’m so sad that it doesn’t even function anymore. Any tool I open to edit a photo just completely freezes and the app crashes. I’ve tried this over the last couple updates without any improvement. Demands your age now after each editNow google demands you answer a popup about what age group you're in, and you can't dismiss it. The best you can do is select "prefer not to answer," which to be clear is STILL a data point that it can collect and add to its vast trove of data about users. The app is officially no longer "free" if Google is using it to collect user data for future advertising purposes. New UpdateI use Snapseed for the majority of my editing and have it down to muscle memory. The new update has rearranged so much to where I am constantly clicking on Export instead of Tools and having to back out. Over-rated & over-pricedI downloaded this on the advice of someone on Instagram, & I must say it really didn't live up to my expectations. The effects are extremely subtle, & since the display isn't even fullscreen & you can't zoom, it's hard to even see what many of them are doing (using iPhone 4). There is no undo button, if you decide you don't like a particular effect you have to completely start over.
