Decent overallDecent overall service. Never any problems with the lock and unlock actions. Decent network in downtown and central east Austin. Never have any problems with no bikes at stations. Things to improve: 1. It sends a welcome to the first of many rides pus notification every time I go on the bikes. It made sense the first time but doesn’t anymore. 2. $150 a year is kinda steep. Great way to get around downtownI take transit downtown each morning and ride bikeshare to and from my office most days. The bike network is pretty good Downtown, West Campus, SoCo & Ladybird Lake. I recommend the annual pass: it’s $86 for unlimited rides. Otherwise, there are pay-as-you-ride plans that start at $2.99. Worked great and loved it!I had no problems at all with the app. After reading other reviews I was surprised. It was easy to sign up, and easy to rent the bikes. We had a great ride around the River. Only thing to consider was the 60 minute limit before they start charging extra. We returned our bikes to a kiosk half way (45 minutes) through and sat by the river a bit and enjoyed the scenery. Needs not WantsUnlock and ride with mostly ease (a little locking up during scan). Easy to return. App can do nothing you want it to. which is grab a bike then navigate to a location. I can only navigate when it works, which is rarely to another bike drop which means you have to get the spot you need to go or the corner that you need to go via Google maps then come back to the rideshare app to find the rideshare drop point closest to that. So it becomes virtually unusable except for grabbing a bike. I wanna use it to cruise the city and see the sites. I don’t want to use it to just use it to the one place I wanna go in the drop point that I know exist. They would be better off just serving Google maps with bike set as default route and allow you to search for things like in google maps. Honestly I’m blown away by how bad the UX really is. Do BetterGenuinely terrible app experience compared to other bikeshares run by Lyft, buggy and frustrating UI, with no real updates in several months! The actual bikes are very pleasant to ride. This could be a great program, but the app could really hold it back. It’s not clear how to pay for single rides the first time you use the app, and you can’t request a bike to be placed in the morning like you can on the scooter apps. since the switch to Lyft, the city’s data dashboards haven’t been updated, and they were super helpful for figuring out if certain stations empty out quickly (and getting stranded). Incompetent customer serviceApp not taking credit card and they just keep telling me to try other cards (Its my problem). There was another guy right beside me having the same issue and talking to customer service not getting results either. I followed all their steps and it still did not work. HORRIBLE DO NOT PURCHASEAbsolutely horrible service that should not have been rolled out. Nobody can add cards to get passes. They randomly flag accounts and suspend them. They don’t even have a customer service number for support. So if anything goes wrong during your trip your out of luck until they respond to EMAIL ONLY. I did one bike ride and they suspended my account that had a 30 day pass. With no information on why. Do not waste your money. One of the worse UXs I’ve seenCap metro generally does a decent job with apps but this misses the app so bad I can’t describe it. First my girlfriend’s account can’t be created because she’s from Australia and it won’t accept her card despite claiming it will. Then I tried it create an account. You are forced to choose between pay as you go or a pass and can’t change the choice after account creation. Best I can tell you have to delete your account to change it. Horrible experienceIt was darn near impossible to use the app the first time, especially for two bikes. We had to create another account for the second bike??? Ride SCOOTERS INSTEADDownloaded the app at bike station and tried to add a debit card to it to pay for our ride, kept getting a message error : that it doesn’t support that kind of payment. Tried on my boyfriends card and same thing. Annoyed bc we walked Lake Austin for 1 hour and then some, we were going to ride the bikes back the way we came. But then this happened. Awful AppNo way to logout. No way to reset password, so if you forget, you're done. Even if you delete the app and re-install, you are still logged in.
