This app is full on trashy just not even any good content most of it is cringe or stuff that hurts kids brain Cocomelon 99% of the app is Cocomelon and brain rot and those are known for damaging kids, brains, and kids getting addicted tantrum over getting their iPads /devices away search bar, barely works and the voice thing always says is sorry I can’t find that it’s not on here or sorry. I can’t hear you. Try again over and over and over again. And there’s cringe and weird video on there like werd werd and when you try blocking those videos, it doesn’t work at all is overall just terrible and trashy. Do not get just a waste of time and storage in memory on your device, please do not install that on your child’s device or install it on your device and the parental control don’t work at all you just to enter a multiplication problems, answer to pass it and they can easily google it or ask Alexa Siri or use a calculator then easily bypass their parental controls do not install it on your child’s device please just a waste of time and storage

We only waited this five stars so it would be shown so let us tell the story we thought that this would be a nice start because our kids were getting a little bored with only a few streaming choices they had and they watch the same thing over and over so we thought this would be a little nice thing to have full control over but then we got it. It’s like we have no control and then the next thing we know after our kids are watching it for a while they get addicted to it and then they act like these spoiled brat Youtubers. and we think it’s not appropriate for kids like it’s a great app and all just you could use more choices and let the parent have more control over what their own kids are watching. Because our kids have become snotty little brats after they’ve been watching these inappropriate videos behind our backs. They never acted like this until they’ve watched this and we were like so surprised how they attitude and personalities just changed all because of this one app and we don’t think it’s appropriate for any kid.

I’m just trying my luck with this game to see what the game will do and how to do the same for you in my next chapter and I’ll see what you can offer it will help you in your future if it does work and you know I don’t have to wait a while for the right people will get a better understanding I just need you guys are the ones I can get the game I know that and you can be the person so you guys know how much you care for them so I’m not really trying that I don’t think that is going well for the reason that I’m saying I’m not going for you and you have no one in this is the only way that I’m going through the right person and you have been a little too far to say I’m trying not even if you’re just a lot to do that is not fair and that’s what I’m saying I’m just a lot better I love to hear the reviews about the game!😊😊☺️🫠

Love this app so much for my 3 year old daughter who is autistic. Lets her have control of what she wants to watch and she can click around and rewind or fast forward 12 times in a row as an ASD stim or for her sensory processing. My only complaint for autistic children or any parent concerned for volume would lack of parental control of volume. My daughter and I have heard other ASD children love shows at full volume, it would be great if there was a setting option for parent controlled volume. The only way I can get around this is to use guided access on her iPad, circle & gray out the volume area but then she can’t go to other apps she likes to switch between game puzzle apps and YT kids app, when I guide it she is stuck on YT kids and being non verbal has to bring the iPad to me to unlock for her to go to the other apps when unlocked she goes back into YT kids and turns the volume to full blast. Please please create a parent control option for volume especially for parents of special needs children. Thank you.

I feel like this app is a pretty good app for kids to use if they want to watch content and not have there parents worry about certain thing, however I feel like it’s very limited, with the older kids who are 10,11, and 12 are stuck with the same features just more content to suit age rating, some suggestions I have is having a comment section only for kids, when creators get feedback through the eyes of a kid, not an adult or some capitalist, it can be actual good feedback. I also noticed that with some channels u can’t subscribe to them or they don’t have a profile picture which I find very strange. I think that if the app had more accessible features for older kids it would be a 5 star from me, also if the kids could get notifications when the creators post that would be nice because if a creator posts a video that they want to watch but the kids don’t know when it will be posted it would be nice to have a notification bell like in the actual app.

I really like this but it’s kinda annoying. I don’t like how even when I refresh my fyp it STILL gives me vids I’ve already seen. like I want some new ones that’s why I refresh. Also, I watched ONE music vid and LITERALLY every single vid on the home page was a music video. I also don’t like it because it doesn’t have the videos up to date. Like I wanna watch a vid from maybe some time this year but it shows the most recent vid is like from 5 years ago. And I know some YouTubers stop making vids but I know some dont. And some YouTubers aren’t even on here. Like even YouTubers that ARE APPROPRIATE like NO swearing and NO inappropriate stuff. also I am on the 9-12 and I NEED more YouTuber options. all I can watch is literally COCOMELON AND STUPID LITTLE KID STUFF LIKE THAT! it’s js plain BORING! js because kids use it doesn’t mean IT NEEDS TO BE BORING!! 💀AND LITERALLY ALL THE VIDS ARE CRINGEEEE! PLEASE FIX! IT WOULD MAKE THE APP MUCH MORE ENJOYABLE IN MY OPINION!! BTW MANGOFROG IS SO REAL!! IT BRAINROTS MY ENTIRE PAGE!! THIS APP COULD BE BETTER!

First of all this game is one of my top three apps I love spending my time watching videos but we all know Aphmau why is only some of her videos there while some slightly inappropriate other content is there and why do you delete some of the BEST Aphmau videos like it’s so annoying but your lucky your app is so amazing that it still is one of my top three apps I love. Also on the 10+ mode it is like 89% 10+ bro like that is so annoying my friend will be like this vid is so cute and stuff you know but I can’t watch it my friends have channels but unless it is a very popular channel ya can’t watch it and when I want to listen to music on there no lyric vids from people like 7clouds like bro like it is just the lyrics to songs is it wrong to want to listen to stargazing or smth and I’m gonna stop ranting now baiiiii

Cons: I’m 9 and I can solve the settings math problems easy peasy. They’re so easy. Please make them harder. I was reading some of the bad reviews and I agree with some of them. I mean, there are a LOT of delays in the video uploads. A few months back I was watching a video as soon as it came to yt kids but there was a date in the video saying it was being recorded a few weeks maybe a month earlier. And I can’t figure out how to make group of vids so I can watch them over and over. I know a lot of people are making shorts, but please reduce them a bit. Some of my favorite channels are just getting overran by shorts and no real long vids. I’ve been in the settings before, but I can’t figure out how to set a time limit on there for myself. There’s also a lot of scary videos on there that give me nightmares. Add more vids faster pls I watch all day sometimes and then I get REALLY bored cause it seems like I’ve watched everything. In the recommended section I keep getting the same things over and over again. Also, I feel like the different end categories never change videos. Pros: The updates usually come with more vids, because before the Halloween update, one of my fav channels I couldn’t sub to but now I can!!! Btw pls add more mr beast gaming I know it’s not the most appropriate channel but dig and find the ones that are appropriate. There are less glitches. Yay. I am purely satisfied. Also can you add more profile pics to choose from? I’m kinda tired of the ones now. I feel like I’m too old for a lot of the things. I am pretty childish tho, but please add more vids for ages 9-12. I love all the vids, but please add more Minecraft than roblox. I don’t like roblox I like Minecraft. The sound vids are good for working on homework or calming down after a stressful day. I want less vlogs pls and truthful vids. I was watching a debunking vid from a channel I trust and she was debunking some vids on yt kids and saying they weren’t truthful and were telling safety lies and other lies that are important to your Heath and could get you sunburned or worse. Reduce the lies. Please and thank you.

I downloaded this app, and I thought it was incredible, so I made a profile and set for ages 9-13, but then I noticed that some not-so-kid-appropriate content was getting into this app. I was all like “this is supposed to be a kid-safe app, why is this stuff showing up?” I should have reset the profile to ages 5-8, but I didn’t. Now a bunch of stuff has gone not so good and I just got the app deleted. I’m not saying it’s bad, I’m just saying that yt kids should have an update or something where they try not to let older content leak through the borders of this app. I was just listening to a casual Minecraft video, but that inappropriate stuff shows up so you can also just block the video, but I just deleted the app. This app is overall AMAZING!!!!!!!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 we just need an update or something where there’s less young-adult-ish content. Yeah that was a lot, ok, have a nice day. :).

Like in the title of my review, it is amazing, it works for me well…but there’s only a couple problems. I watch Moriah Elizabeth, she posts on fridays, I get it whatever day I get it. I understand they have to make sure that it’s not inappropriate. But ALSO, I watched a couple videos on my MOMS yt account, and there were videos that IVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO SEE! I still love this app, it’s amazing but also, I watch The Norris Nuts, and it won’t even LET ME GO TO THERE CHANNEL! They aren’t inappropriate at all! But somehow there channel icon wont be on there? Idk why…but I do love this app, it’s good, not inappropriate, and has good content. I just hope that you can fix the bug with the icon channel thing on The Norris Nuts, and fix the upload on Moriah Elizabeth. Thank you! Love this app! ❤️✨

This app is really good but I feel like there are some YouTubers who are not on here even though they are safe. It’s not a huge problem I just feel like that could be fixed. Also lots of people agree that even if you have watched a video it is not there the next day. Like I watched a great video and then I searched it up and it is not there. The last thing is that you made some creators not have a profile picture so I can not see there latest videos. One last thing and this is not really a complaint but I find it weird that if you click on a profile picture then u scroll it starts out as there latest videos but then goes to old videos and then back to latest videos. 🤔 If you fix these things this app would be amazing and I would recommend it to everyone. Fix these if you want this app to be popular.

Listen, this app is amazing for kids but a lot of kids change their age every once in awhile (example: I started watching on this app when I was seven now I am nine), and some parents aren’t as techie as others and my parents don’t know how to change my age on this app! I want to watch videos that are for MY AGE. So if it’s just non-techie parents or kids YT itself then please tell me. Another complaint just so you know I want things to change around here, When my favorite Minecraft YouTuber posts a new video, I can’t watch it right away, I have to wait ‘til the app UPDATES and then I get to watch my video. Therefore the reason I watch TV a lot, BEHOLD. (By the way I know I sound like a Karen so I’ll get to the good parts.) Now I’m gonna say how amazing this app is, So if you don’t want to watch or you don’t want your kid to watch inappropriate videos with bad words, bad topics, stories that creep the pants off of you/your kid, and inappropriate things overall. Then I suggest you get this app! But maybe you should make the ages higher because sometimes when my babysitter comes over (GOOD TIP FOR BABYSITTERS), she brings her phone too and so she can watch kids YT with me (I have the app on my iPad but it’s more fun using an actual phone). I get to give myself a funny name, AND give myself my own character. These characters are ORIGINAL!!! The peeps who made it made sure they weren’t coping anyone’s design and also made sure that the photo wasn’t ladybug or catnoir or Mal or Cyborg, you know what I mean? It had a lot of things that were not inappropriate and it was a really great thing for my child my child was watching non-inappropriate things on this app and it was very lovable my son has it and he really likes it so I read it five stars because my children love it a lot and it’s not like adults and it’s really helpful for my child to learn things and I’m really happy with it💕💕 I love that my child is happy😁 this is a really great app that’s why I love this app and is not appropriate and you can watch like whatever you want you can watch Roblox Minecraft animals frogs spiders it’s a lot of great things you can learn and watch different things at the same time.

So i love this app but sometimes i don’t want to watch my favorite you tubers just because i didn’t watch them for a day so i love Callmehhaley one day i didn’t really want to watch her so i watched some other stuff and the next day shes not in my fav you-tubers slide and that made me really mad so i had to look her up and nothing came up also when i have internet it says “sorry go to an adult to fix your internet” but i literally have internet and i don’t like i watch something one day i go to search it up and nothing comes up but i literally watched it yesterday so i would really like to rate it a 3 but its ok

So I got this app for my 2 year old daughter (who is 9 currently) and I for some reason keep forgetting to put the time limit since we got this app she keeps bugging me to change the age thing but we have to go to another app and put the time there so can u make like notifications like that would say ‘’please ask a parent to put the time limit for you’’ or something like that and same for the age like the child puts their birthday and the device can send a notification that says’’happy birthday this is a reminder to tell a parent to change the age appropriate videos for you’’ so please do this

This app is good, I like that it’s made for kids but I’ve seen some stuff that kids really don’t need to see. My family has this app and we have has some problems with the app. First,if u don’t have restrictions on the app and u search random things u can see stuff that’s not for kids. Second, the app glitches sometimes. I’ve had to delete the app because it it wouldn’t let me sign in. Third I think the app should have more videos in some of the channels. I looked up Unspeakable it didn’t have all his videos. I also think that that kids should be able to subscribe to any channel they want. It should have a thing where it asks parents first. Then the parents can subscribe.

If you have a little kid it’s perfect no swearing no gore no scary things none of that. now one other good thing about this app is that your kid can be timed for hours or minutes one of the bad thing is that when your child is off it and on something else or not even on the electronic is that it we’ll still time your girl or boy but other then that it is the perfect app for your child another grate thing about this app is that I don’t have to be worried about what she is watching and thanks to this she can learn more and more next year she’s going to pre K and she will have a head start in school I’m so excited and so thankful for this app ❤️❤️❤️

Okay, this game is kid friendly as I have a little sister who loves this app, but I’m 11+ and have to watch yt kids because my parents won’t let us watch regular yt. Yt kids has a couple good youtubers, but almost all the youtubers I actually like aren’t on here and most are totally kid friendly. Also this may be kinda stupid but during series they cut out some videos and I can’t watch all the videos of the series. Recently Moriah Elizabeth’s channel got deleted! Her channel was totally kid friendly. I just wish yt kids would have all videos of a channel and have more tween videos and not soooo kiddy. Srry this is so long,ty.

I’ve had this app for YEARS and I’m still not bored of it. I mean there are some things that I would like to change like who some videos get taken down even though they are appropriate. Or how we don’t get all of the videos from creators even though they are also appropriate. But anyway it’s a good app! It’s a very educational app for young children ( I’m a child btw so for all the parents out their maybe don’t take my advice ) And it has a bunch of very entertaining videos! And I love how it doesn’t take up a lot of storage. ( I sound like an old person 😭) but anyway it’s a very good app for kids!

I loved to watch all sorts of vids on there, I would watch it 24/7. But after a while, it started to glitch, all of the vids were full screened and I would type something in the searches bar and the results would be super duper glitched. Idk if it is my tablet or it’s for everyone. But that’s prob. because I like watched it for like 4 years or something. But anyways. Besides the glitch (which I don’t think happens to a lot of people) it’s a great and really safe vids for kids! They can’t post or anything. And there are parental controls. I really enjoyed my time on it. And I think that ur children can too!! Oh also there are fun educational vids to to teach about animals dances and more!!

You can’t become a YouTuber and you have to have parents this is such a big rip off the worst game in the world. It’s just like those money schemes. YouTube kids is a cool fun watching kids place to watch movie, because some kids might be watching appropriate videos on the normal YouTube, this YouTube kids is monitored by parents, and screen time can be set on it, do they can take a break, so download it and set your child's tv! Enjoy bye👊🏻👍

When my kids go onto this app I hear them laughing because of so many good and funny videos I love that I hear them playing with each other after they watch these videos. The app is so good I even started watching it myself lol

It is so good for children! No Adds!

Don’t get me wrong, this is a great app and all, but there’s some things that should change. For starters, I think the 9-12 age group should have a less childish theme and something more suitable for older kids. The colors are too bright for me and I wish they were darker and not so vibrant. Also, the sounds of when you’re swiping through video suggestions is just annoying. It gives me an earworm and wish there was a feature to remove the sounds. And some of the videos they suggest for me are WAY too childish. I need something more entertaining like a channel for older kids that’s also appropriate for the app. And the last thing that is okay but still needs some work is that the app only updates when there a month with a holiday. The app needs to update more often instead of just giving it a new theme each month or so. Another thing that I can’t stand is when you search for a certain channel and there are videos from it but it’s not available. I don’t understand the point of adding videos of a channel and then making the channel unavailable. Something similar to this is one day, you’re watching your favorite YouTuber’s videos and the next day, they aren’t there anymore. This is constantly annoying because every time I find a channel that is actually entertaining, they always remove it the next day and don’t put it back until 4-5 months later. This is unfair to others who are trying to enjoy this app the best they can and the company is making it harder for them to do so. This is just my opinion so please respect it.

So the reason I put two stars is because will I’m 12 and turning 13 this September and I USED to like the music it had but the next day when I search it up the cat popped up so when is did it over and over again I didn’t work so I few days later it came back again I was so happy that I quickly put it on but guess WHAT?!!! The next day it was gone again this got me mad but also kinda happy because they sanded a subscribe button but not apron all of the channels so if you could put it on every channel like idk maybe SSsniper wolf the reason her is because when I was like idk 6 I had normal yt so I always watched her and she does not say bad words or show anything bad and when ty kids put just one vid about her I thought there was going to be a subscribe button so I can see other vid but NO!!!!! So plz put a new vid every day in my opinion and also on the 8-12 age group there is still like baby videos so plz take those out because they are really bothering me and if u can add a special place to see videos that are like live and you can comment but only on the 8-12 so the little kids can be safe🤪😊 but for the older kids I think there old enough to comment and see live🔴 videos but ones with no bad words to be safe again😊 also if you can add normal yt features like idk a bell so we can be notified on new videos but only on the ones we subscribe to so plz respond to this comment so I can upload this app again thank you and good bye.

So I recently decided to randomly check this out for no particular reason but I just wanted to try it out, and let me just say I’m really disappointed. I’m 12, not exactly the main demographic this app is targeted for but there is a “older” section for people who are around the ages of 8-12 and I think it needs work. For one thing the videos in the “older” section didn’t even manage to make me entertained. I genuinely got bored from looking at some of the videos. They don’t have a lot of family friendly youtubers. Take flamingo for a example. He isn’t on the app even though he is completely family friendly. The videos I saw seemed to be made for 7-9 year olds. I recommend that the creators made a section for 11-12 year olds that feature a more mature youtubers and not just the same old Stuff. Maybe some people like Ethan gamer or Ronald toys reviews but not everyone does. I want to see some more adult youtubers because to me, I prefer watching a adult play video games or simply just doing some commentary because adults can be a lot funnier because they know a lot of things kids don’t. can you please also add a section for males and females? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t believe in gender stereotypes but what male would want to watch a Barbie doll meditation video?! Seriously? 1 more thing, can you please add in more mature cartoons? The cartoons on yt kids are obviously directed for people who are around the ages of 5-9. I would like to see some more mature stuff on the app. Thanks

Well, it blocks everything that you want to watch and for some reason kids get addicted it’s just not worth watching anymore and it’s it just keeps it at the same age level. Maybe it should be like you but parents can manage the account and now you can’t subscribe to Youtubers so you can watch their videos and you’re removing stuff and it’s so glitchy like one video it was in all Korean and I don’t. I don’t read Korean. I don’t speak Korean I only know English and for some reason, audio keeps on turning off like it, mute every part of the video fix that first and I don’t have a password. I don’t have an account so I don’t have a password and the multiplication or the math problem were easier cause I forgot my password and you forgot password button does not help. I did not work at all, so maybe fix that better cause now I get you what I need you and sometimes kids just wanna play from school when they’re rough until at school and there’s not stuff that maybe I should maybe you should maybe set that account level to ask a parent what kind of movies they’re allowed to watch and shows cause my kids don’t want too much education. They just wanna relax and I have never even saw one thing on there that’s good for some reason. It seems like my kids account is on preschool level, but it’s supposed to be on older kid account level and it still shows a preschool stuff.

We love this app and the only reason I gave it 3 stars is because there isn’t anywhere on the app that I can block content about one subject. My grandkids are crazy about one topic and it’s not appropriate for their age, on top of it’s generally narrated by adults or older teens, our youngest is 4. In order to block it I have to block every single video that has the name in the contents and every week there are new ones. As parents and grandparents it’s important to be able to block entire content. So while they may be way past Coco Melon they are certainly not ready for Catnap. Inevitably it ends up in a war over what we want them watching and the elimination of what would be some great content (books, animal video’s, learning to play with each other), and when they are drawn back in by the suggestive videos that scroll along the bottom, it often will include the items we don’t want them seeing and ends up with the elimination of the app all together. Please, if you could allow a broad “block” based on the name we don’t want them viewing. It would be so helpful! I would be glad to come back and give it a 5 star. It’s truly the only reason I gave it a 3. Everything else is great! But if blocking isn’t available, it becomes unusable.

Though the app is nice to distract your children while you’re out to eat or you just need a minute to shower, etc. the content is inappropriate. We originally downloaded it and then deleted it because our daughter somehow ended up on a video of people skinning a catfish - this isn’t terrible if you’re a fishing family and your children are typically exposed to such things, but it wasn’t something we thought she’d see on a kid safe app. We then paid closer attention to what she was watching and when something seemed “off” or weird, we changed the video. Lots of fun and silly songs are available, lots of educational videos as well - but that’s where the problem is. We liked that she was exposed to colors and shapes in weird funny ways that drew her attention.... but after awhile we realized these “weird” videos are not good for kids’ behavior. They teach colors with balloons - but within those videos are children receiving toy after toy, etc. We didn’t like how our daughter started to think she deserved a toy for everything. When we got her something, suddenly she wasn’t as thankful as she’d always been, but suddenly she was asking for more, more, more. (The Ryan videos are the worst!) Yes it is ultimately up to us as the parents to teach her to be grateful so we cannot blame this app - however, as a parent, if you want your child to appreciate things and not learn “bratty” behaviors, this app isn’t the app for your child....unless you plan to sit with them and watch every video they have access to. As parents, we are making the choice to find other apps with better video selection.

This app is good in the sense that it provides content geared toward children, however there are a lot of issues with this app. The biggest problem being how the app responds when you select the options for approving videos. I only want my child to have access to specific videos due to the massive amounts of content available, and the questionable subject matter in a lot of videos. We have gone through and approved specific channels and videos for him to watch, but it is nearly impossible to actually find a lot of the videos. If you approve individual videos it makes it to where you are unable to access or click on most of your approved channels. And it only shows the same exact approved videos in that section everytime you open the app. There are wayyyy more videos he is able to watch on approved channels than just the same 15-20 that appear in the approved for you section. I also don’t like that it immediately blocks the search option. It would be nice to be able to search through approved videos and channels instead of having to scroll through years worth of videos to find that one specific video my child is thinking of. I also feel as though there should be a way to automatically remove videos if other languages. For example a Spanish speaking family may want to focus content on videos where characters are speaking Spanish, and an English speaking family would want to have content where English is spoken. My child frequently gets frustrated because the video he’s watching is in a language he doesn’t understand. There is no easy way for me to filter the videos on approved channels unless I went through each individual video and removed the ones in other languages.

I’m not going to talk about the inconsistency of the choices on whether or not a channel or video gets allowed on here, but my problem has always been the UI. The recent UI update isn’t terrible but it just sorta looks nicer. One of the most important things lacking is a button to skip back and fast forward by a few seconds. This is especially a problem for longer videos when you just want to go back and see something that just happened and you have to try and scroll back as close as you can. Another problem is that not every channel gets a channel page which makes it less organized especially when you just want to watch some of their channel. Also with channel pages, I don’t like that they show a few of the most recent videos, then most popular, and then chronological releases. I wish you could switch between chronological and most popular so it’s easier to find videos. I also want an option to turn of the sounds effects that play when you press anything, because they’re quite annoying. If simplification is the problem then maybe these should be togglable options in parental settings.

There is really only stuff for much younger kids and not much for above 8. I will not say my actual age, but eight is when I started to get bored. There are not that many channels, even though I am sure there are many more channels and videos that kids can watch. I would not recommend this to kids over the age of six, seven, or eight. Please take this into consideration when making your app and include some things for older kid such as me. EDIT: came back to add stuff. so i stand by what i said but i didn’t really include any other issues… i am part of the older group, but it keeps recommending me videos for little kids like ms. rachel and sesame street. i also find the subscribe button so useless. you subscribe to get to the channel quicker and yes to support the creator. there is no way to get to your subscribed channels and i think that should be a feature. it could be a new tab or just in the “your stuff”. also, there should be likes. there doesn’t have to be dislikes for positivity or something, but supporting creators is something kids want to do too. i get the no comments for talking to strangers, but no likes just seems useless.

This app is great for little kids! I get it. But, I can’t watch FGTEEV and FV family which are COMPLETELY appropriate for kids 8+ and the only good channels I can watch on here is Cherry Pop Productions, DrawingWiffWaffles, and Moriah Elizabeth. I watch other channels on here but those are the best ones, so I’m sick and tired of watching the same channels over and over and over. Another is that I would WAIT and WAIT for new videos to be released. I know that the channel Moriah Elizabeth uploads on all Fridays. so on Fridays I would check to see if the video was released and it wouldn’t. Like what feels about 1 week later it would FINALLY be uploaded. And idk what day DrawingWiffWaffles posts but like 2 months ago the lastest video was “Painting on Easter eggs” and today it’s the same video. No other new ones. I get how they have to put the video through security and stuff but I’m so tired of waiting to see videos that are released late. I would also search up a song that I like and most of the time it would only be in piano tutorials and it wouldn’t be the real song. But over all… this app was good. I’m waiting for it to be way better!

YTK is a ok-app but it needs more… almost all videos are like, “ok so if you like this video like and subscribe to see more!” .Like how are we supposed to see more of those videos if we can’t like that video. Like what if it is a video that we don’t like, are not interested, or is inappropriate? It will still pop up even if we only watch it into the part we did not like… Also we can’t comment either so we can’t respond to questions on videos either. Some videos say, “ok guys so comment what you think of this drawing and I will subscribe to you!” . Like we can’t. And also we can’t have channels on YTK you could make that a safe thing to do… you could even make it like BeReal, it’s like a video/ picture program that you can’t like,dislike, and share. It’s very safe cause the only thing you can do is comment , and leave only happy and joyful emoji-like pictures. It’s a good app but could be way,way,way better… BTW this is made by a 11 yr old… look⬇️ Please, please, please make this happen. If not all at least some?

I know not many people like me will most likely still be stuck with the kids’ version of YT, but I’m 14 and my mom is so overprotective in relation to YT videos for some reason. To sum up my point for anyone unwilling to read the rest, don’t get this app just to restrict a teenager’s video access. Find a better way. Do get this app for true children. I’ve become increasingly frustrated with the childish interface and the lack of most features standard YT has. Is there a possibility you could add a teen setting where it functions and looks the same as standard YT, but without ads and comments and with restricted video access? Speaking of ads, it’s very annoying that a video having product placement/ads built into it causes adults to be unable to share the video to a kids’ profile. First of all, why is this even a concern? Most kids don’t have the money or the access to shopping websites needed to actually buy what’s advertised. Second of all, whether parents want their kids to see ads or not (which they do all the time on the TV, billboards, magazines, et cetera) should be their choice. I know this probably won’t get read, and it’s only so long since I’m writing it as an excuse to stay in bed longer on a Sunday, so whatever. If parents who are reading this are looking to get this app for their teenage children, for their sake, please don’t. It’s extremely frustrating to have to deal with such an immature and limitedly-functioning app for the sake of video restrictions alone.

My little one spends an hour or two per day on this app and he absolutely loves it. It’s easy to navigate to and through on the iPad. He would watch all day and night if I let him. He has no complaints. I however have two major ones as a parent. The biggest is that I cannot create a custom playlist of videos for him to watch myself. The channel selection option was a fail from the start—none of the channels featured the animated preschool content my son loves to watch. So, I have to trust YouTube’s algorithms to decide what content is presented to my son, instead of being able to put on Bob The Train for him. I can search for Bob The Train but the algorithm populates other videos which my son navigates to. And that leads me to my second major complaint... Non-English language videos constantly populate this app for my son. There is no way to select videos that are in English only. You can block videos or even whole channels that are in other languages but only one at a tome as they play and annoyingly you have to enter the passcode each time which I do not understand. If my own child wanted to block a video or channel—let him!! But back to the other languages—Spanish, French, Russian, Portuguese are all great but I don’t know what these videos are saying and therefore can trust or screen then. It’s annoying. If these two things were fixed I would give the app 5 stars, even though the content is a little ABC heavy and I wish there was more early literacy content available, like Bob the Train.

This app is good because it doesn’t say bad words, but it can use some more you know, looking into it because the fact that it’s 4 under, I feel like they probably should be looking into the videos because some videos say like mean words and stuff and some videos also have hitting in them yeah but also somebody’s are really good because you know they are like art and grass and there is also like learning videos that they use have and stuff, but I feel like sometimes when like you don’t wanna have to like have to go through the videos yourself I feel like it should probably put like more like looking into the videos kind of like you know the hitting and mean words, but overall this is a great app for your kids, but if you really wanna be more protective, you can go in and look and have some custom videos just for you and I like how they let you get custom videos and I like how you get to choose the age show you know getting more mature and more appropriate by the age so yeah, it’s really good and very entertaining

This app was supposed to designed for kids, HOWEVER, after creating an account and specifically putting my child’s account at 4 years old so we could limit what she was seeing, it was still continuously showing videos about things that are wildly inappropriate for kids AT ANY AGE. Cartoon characters that have been edited to be anatomically correct, violence with weapons, gore, and so much more. Even after blocking the channels and specific videos, they continued to pop up. It then kicked me out of my parental/adult account and wouldn’t allow me to log back in or block anymore channels/videos. I’m not sure how to get around it. We’ve made several accounts and done everything in our power to continue to be able to use this app, but we’ve had to delete it and move on to other options. I understand we can’t limit everything out kids see or hear in this world, but on an app specifically designed for children that requires you to put the child’s age… not for us. Parents beware!

I would like to bring to your attention the content that you are allowing to slip into YT Kids. I am a young person, so please don’t treat me as an adult. I have came across a very frightening video about Rapunzel, and I think this specific video needs to be taken down IMMEDIATELY. The video is titled: “Did you know that there was a dark decay…”!! It was EXTREMELY SCARY!!!! Rapunzel was doing some dark magic and her eyes turned full black! Then, the flowers shrunk and turned a dark color. Her friend was telling her,”Raps, I think you can stop, now.” I did not create or post this video. The crazy about it is that I searched something that was far from what happened to pop up on my screen. I searched,”matted hair” and found that! At first, the search results were mostly on the topic. I scrolled down, and I started to see Rapunzel videos, and I came across this one. I am not signed into an account, but that STILL should be on a “ CHILD-FRIENDLY” APP!! I hope you take this review into consideration. Thank you.

This app is great for little kids, but for parents with older kids there’s not much good content. I’m constantly trying to find good videos to watch but whatever i do it leads back to the same childish videos. The search bar barely shows you what you’re looking for. If you search mukbang, nothing comes up. And tik tok, none. I get there are little kids, but there are also 11+. They should get some content they’ll actually enjoy. Also, the security system isn’t very safe. They ask east multiplication equations like 9x8. Children can easily google it or know it by the top of your head. you should also be able to watch clean vines. They take away a lot of things that are kid friendly and replace it with super childish content. It’s not fair to the children that are older and have stricter parents. Otherwise, good for little kids.

So I was testing out and a couple inappropriate videos were posted and I was just like “Oh a video I’m just gonna click it” and then it was inappropriate. On the other hand, younger for 5-6, pre for 3-4, and older for 7-8-9. (Hehe more review.) It is not uncommon for older kids because they are older and they have a part of their brain that is built. Not ideal for zeros and ones.(definitely not 0-1.) But make sure your kids are watching videos that are not giving them brain rot. Cause I got addicted and it was not good. But you can give your kiddos some fun videos, as long as you keep it on a curriculum like “4 educational videos and one or two rotting-your-brain videos! ONLY.” I love this app, but it’s so hard to not get addicted when you’re not keeping it on a curriculum. I’ve been addicted twice in my life. So yeah. Byeeeee!

Like this app is like so dumb I tried to watch my favorite Youtubers. The screen is so blurry kid did you? Why did you just create a dumb game or video? You just have to watch on a blurry thing you can’t why on peoples video there’s not that much. I hate it so much because they’re not that much videos they’re not even you too short to scroll on or even fun videos. You can even not watch that much videos in the screen is too blurry. This app is good because it takes out all videos with swear words and innapropriate things. But there are 3 issues. There are some channels with only a few videos, and even though there have been videos being uploaded on the channel, it dosent show up on the kids app. I think a channel that is added to the app should have all its videos, because some of my favorite channels to watch most recent video is from like 4-5 years ago, which is annoying. Another issue is that when a setting is from videos 9-12, age 3-4 videos should not be reccomended. Add more big kid stuff! The final issue is that videos with long titles cant be read because it only shows the amount of words that fits to the limit. Thank you for reading.

When I first downloaded this for my son the app in itself was a lot easier to maintain and control. I suppose some changes after recent updates does not allow the user to clear the browsing cache anymore. I’ve gone through the settings over and over but can’t seem to find that option anymore. While my son used to watch educational, entertaining or kid friendly videos now there is nothing but homemade crap videos of mostly adults “reviewing” toys or doing some other nonsense. Since the last update I’ve had to block probably 30+ channels from the lite nonsense that comes up on the app now since I am unable to clear the cache. Please add this feature back. I really do enjoy the app for my son but having to block all the foreign channels so he doesn’t get confused and the other nonsensical channels is getting a little overwhelming.

It's really good but can you please add more queen Music. I really like queen but I can't listen to it on here. Like I search up killer queen and nothing shows up. The only thing is we will rock you. This upsets me a lot because there are maybe 1 or 2 inappropriate queen songs. Also DanTDMs channel doesn't show. Like you can watch a couple of his videos but if you try to click on the channel there's nothing there except for the name and you can't view the actual channel. What upsets me the most about this is that there are videos about s*x yet you can't watch DanTDM or listen to queen. My favorite idol YouTuber is NightCove_thefox, but she’s not on here. Like, there’s nothing wrong with her (except for swearing in some videos, but she censors them). Also, when I try looking up FNaF, I get weird terrifying things that are scarier than those cringey Minecraft animations. There was this one vid I found of like “True Story Fnaf 9 Security Britch”, and I recorded a video of me cosplaying as Vanny and reacting to the video. It had absolutely nothing to do with the lore or gameplay, it was very inaccurate, there was this one kid who I had no idea who she was, and the “animatronics” were made of foam. The only GOOD video I found was this guy making a realistic Kirby out of clay, and it was actually pretty fire. But either way, one of my friends tried looking up SSSniperWolf, but she found nothing, and there’s nothing wrong with SSSniperWolf. In conclusion, this app is trash and should be only for SMOL children.

Hi I’m writing first to say it a good enough app but there are A few things I’d liked changed so first after you watch some videos it starts to delete videos off the app for example after I used this app for a while I watched danTDM but then my brother found out my second favorite YouTuber was on there but I couldn’t watch him because it had already deleted his video off the app!!!!! Then they have Series on there but like there’s say episode one of a let’s play but not the next episode!!! Why?!?! And you can’t share videos with your phone 😡 and I wish you could comment and ring a bell 🔔 but you can’t even watch the whole series!!! There has been a video surfacing recently of a boy beating an infant by throwing it on the ground, punching it in the face, & drowning it in a puddle of mud. the video depicts all of this in detail and yes the infant was real. a local child here has found this video by accident as it was on their front page suggested to them, and is now terrorized. he was heartbroken & hysterical & couldnt even explain to his mother what he had seen. this app needs taken down as i myself have fruitlessly blocked many traumatizing videos from my child as well, before deleting the app all together. the parent was not able to report or block this video & i really hope she goes to the authorities & seeks a therapist for her son. i have also experienced not being able to block certain videos & i feel this was a purposeful act, as an act of terror.

When my mom made the account a year or so ago when I was eleven she selected the 11-13 age group. Now I am 12 and see how seriously flawed this app is with my increased intellect and deeper understanding of life. One day I was just curious and clicked a little lock button that looked interesting. when I did a pop up said adults only. The way to get to the adults only area was to solve simple math problems. and when I Say simple, I mean simple. I mean even a 2nd grader could solve these equations. For example, 2 x 5. Keep in mind that my mom selected 11-13 mode. Apparently (according to YT kids) Kids from the age range of 11-13 can’t do one digit multiplication. Also what happens if a kid just asks their unknowing parents a random math question. Then all of a sudden they have access to things they shouldn’t have access to

Overall it’s an okay app for kids. You still have to monitor what they’re watching because there are some pretty questionable videos on there. I understand that it’s near impossible to go through everything that’s uploaded, so I don’t fault the developers. It just means you still have to parent, which is fine. The thing I’d like to see fixed is the loophole around the timer. Once the timer is done, it essentially locks the app until it’s reset. But my four year old has found out that if you force close the app, and reopen it, it bypasses the timer lock and reopens back to the homepage. If the developers could find some kind of fix for this, I’d appreciate it. Thank you!

I mean it looks good but not much thought appears to have been put into the kid’s account implementation. For instance, any time my child is using YT kids in the YT app and I want to switch users, it literally shows my pin on the screen. Am I supposed to ask him to leave the room? It took me an hour or so to figure out how to allow channels to his Kids account. If you need to load the channel, and then share it to his kids account, fine, but put some indication of that somewhere in the settings of either app. This has to be one of the most necessary procedures if you choose to limit content. The only thing he can customize himself is his profile icon and that wasn’t anywhere in the main menu either.

My parents don’t let me watch The standard yt, so i have to watch this. it’s fine, but their are some things that are just plain dumb and drive me insane. let me create a scenario. a channel posts one bad video, ONE BAD VIDEO, and the “philosophy of yt kids” is to REMOVE THAT CHANNEL. i’ve had multiple channels that i LOVE removed so many times. i don’t want to be forced to watch coco melon because a channel got removed for a second in one video. on the topic of channels, youtubers would say their posting schedule. so i’m like “cool now i know when to check their page”. nope. not even close. it can be five days later that they post their videos. it takes them that long to check the video, i don’t even know why they would block their channel cause isn’t this supposed to be kid friendly? #bringbackcimorelli

Obviously the people who update this app don't have kids. Who puts ad's on a kids app? My kid loses it. I'll gladly pay if you loose the ads before videos.

After working perfectly for months, after the most recent update YouTube Kids no longer works in our region. The website states the only place it is unavailable is Quebec. We live in Ontario. My child has been upset every since this has happened that she is unable to watch her shows. It's a great shame this has happened and we hope it will be fixed ASAP with another update.

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! Me and my daughter are after seeing so many inappropriate videos regarding alcohol, drugs, and sexual references from all sorts of knock off Disney or Nickelodeon channels. Regardless if we report them or not, they still turn up. My kids are after stumbling upon horrible videos. You may be familiar with this one; Don’t hug me, I’m scared. When my child saw this she was traumatized, and couldn’t sleep well for about 4 days. Nonetheless, I can still see it on this app. There are other complaints my children make about this app, as well. They can’t share videos with their friends, and often can’t find what they are looking for. I believe that monitoring what your kids watch on REAL YouTube is safer than counting on this app.

Since my parents blocked this app I didn’t like it! I tried to watch regular YouTube on safari but they blocked it! And this app is stupid! Ok! 1. There is no you tuber I like! 2. It has stupid music! 3. Ads, seriously! I know has to have ads like regular YouTube but come on! 4. When I read some of the one star reviews, they say if you select older, you baby shows! 5. This app was never child friendly, if you want your kids watching child friendly tv I suggest you go with any of the streaming programs that let you see exactly what’s being offered to your child, YouTube kids is far too big a platform to be fully moderated so there’s always a chance that your kid’s being exposed to something they shouldn’t, I’m so glad it’s no longer available in my region.
