About Med Mnemonics (Evan Schoenberg)
Mnemonics got me through medical school and the USLME steps. Wherever you are within the allied health professions - medical school, nursing school, NP school, PA school, residency, and beyond - you can improve your knowledge base in the short and long term with these key associative memory aids.
The database is fully searchable and can be quickly filtered by discipline and by system. Create a Favorites list, and search and filter it similarly.
The best mnemonics can be those you make yourself. Add your own mnemonics to the database, where they'll appear seamlessly alongside those which come with the program. Submit them instantaneously to the Medical Mnemonics server for review by an MD (that's me!) and inclusion in the next version.
You can email any mnemonic to a colleague from within Medical Mnemonics. He or she can view it within the email or add it to their own copy of Medical Mnemonics with a single click.
Updates will be free for life and will include new mnemonics submitted by users (that's you!) and added as we all continue learning together.
Every mnemonic is physician-reviewed, but we're only human. If you find a mistake, email us; we will pay a $5 bounty per substantive mistake found to the first reporter of that mistake!

Contains a wealth of mnemonics. I've been using this alongside my board prep qbanks to look up useful mnemonics. It would be nice if the database was updated periodically with new content.
This is the best one location scource for medical mnemonics that Ive found to date at the apple site. There is a favorites tagging, and you can edit a mnemonic if its not exactly to your liking, a big plus for personalizing entries and if you know of a mnemonic not in the app you can enter your own. The negatives, cant save your modified or personal entries. And this app has the irritating habit of occasionally opening up with nothing but a blank WHITE screen easily fixed by closing the app, going to the desk top and opening it from there. Minor in my mind and Im quite glad to have the app and not have to enter ever single app I find on the internet.
Wonderful app, easy to remember when in clinical and on exams.
My only complaint is that if I add my own mnemonic, it isn't applied across devices and so I have to enter my personal mnemonics twice and sometimes on different days in different locations depending if I have my iPad with me or not. I have trouble formatting my mnemonics, though, I don't know if that is just me.
Great app!! I loooooove being able to filter the different subjects as well as subfilter organ system. However, a few tips: would like to see being able to star mnemonics from the mnemonic page, not just in the list view. Also, but perhaps more complicated, to bold letters in mnemonic submissions from iPhone. All in all a highly recommended purchase! You won't regret it.

I avoided it for a really long time because I did not want to support an app that was essentially a primitive looking database of mnemonics. Boy was I wrong! Sure, it doesn't look great but gets the job done! I wish I has got it earlier..
I wish I'd found this before I graduated PA school. Our profs weren't big on pneumonics so we had to make up our own. This would have been perfect. I'll use it now to refresh my memory on things I don't see often and to study for my recert.
As a medical student, I seem to be faced with so much information that needs to be compartmentalized. Hopefully this will become a huge database, because I will be using this for a long time. Highly recommend!
I'm a medicine intern and find myself pulling this app up regularly... as often to find out what all the letters of a mnemonic I almost-remember stand for as to find new ones. I've submitted a couple of my own, too :)
This is very useful for not only Medical student or doctors, but also for NP student. It is a creative way to memorize important topics. It worth more than the price you pay. I love it. I can reveiw topics whenever I have a spare time in this way.
I am a retired neuro-trauma nurse and I loved this. I am sure it will help many young med and nursing students and is so much more entertaining than On Old Olympics Towering Tops, which never made sense anyway. Plus I have a great friend namedVic so it also makes me giggle!
This app is wonderful! If I could suggest one thing is being able to create folders for favorites. This app would be perfect if I could organize mnemonics according to my exams, etc. This addition would give it 5 stars!!
The search feature makes this app a great tool in finding quick facts for class and many medical topics.
Love it. Not only do you get the option between many mnemonics, a lot of them are constructed around the very letters of the concept you are trying to memorize. Fantastic app!!!
If your looking for a Med Mnemonic App look no further. This app is very helpful in my preparation for the board exam. My big thanks to the developers for making my study life a little easier.
Great tool to review on the run. The provision or editing pneumonics is extremely helpful in personalizing (when you would like to stick to the ones you have already learnt)
I loved this application. It has been useful for many of my classes and has been great to study board like questions. I definitely recommend it.
My wife is a Medical Lab Tech. She has looked this app over and says its an informative app. I'm learning to talk to her about her line of work. I also have a few more apps about med lab training & info.
I would love it if you were able to put in letters and the program would be able to give suggestions for a mnemonic to use. There then that I love the program.
I just got the update for this ap and now the ap won't work at all!!!! I loved this ap it's great for learning those tricky parts of medicine, but it's useless if the update stops it from working!! Please fix!!
Such a nice tool to remember something you can slip during exams & during rounds helps you. Highly recommended for every doc.
I am a medical student and this app is perfect for learning quickly. An invaluable resource when you need to memorize a lot and FAST!
Has tons of useful info, plus the ability to add your own. Highly recommended.
This application is very useful when studying for your license especially after years of being away. One suggestion grouping all of the pharmacology together for NAPLEX exam takers.
This app's helped me to prepare for my nursing tests and was a lot of fun in the process. Definitely recommend it and the price us right'
Waiting for better organization, more mnemonics but overall i recommend it
This is a pretty useful App. I enjoy browsing through them to jog my memory on different treatments and learn new ways of remembering them.
I also wish it was grouped by body system, and that there was more info. Whats there is so helpful though. And the price was right.
I was never a mnemonic person, but when that one thing you can't quite remember comes along, chances are there is a mnemonic to help you remember it. Good App that I recommend
I would say that if they have more explanation and more mnemonics this app will be amazing! Hopefully next version will have more stuff for medical students not only nurses. Good idea though.
And worth every cent. You can even add your own mnemonics or edit existing ones. Thanks so much for such a helpful study tool =)
Thank you for making this app. It helped me a lot and saved my trouble a lot of times
As a nurse working towards my doctorate ! This comes in handy as a healthcare professional as well as a student !!
Good to get new ideas for mnemonics. "Favorite" option as well as edit as well a submit features.
I am a nursing student and some of these help me to recall the information I need especially when I am studying in the ER.
I often jot down the mnemonic on my scratch paper at test time. And I teach my study groups these helpful hints. I totally love this app!
I love it, can use it anytime I have a question about anything I'm not too sure about
I'm enjoying this app very much. Extremely useful. Thank you.
A complete life saver. Especially the filter that divides what you are working on learning at the moment.
Wonderful program for studying! But please make use of the 4" iPhone 5 screen!
Awesome for med students! Especially like the search feature.
This is so helpful to me for my A&P class! So glad I spent the 99 cents on it; it's been more than worth it. Please add more! Maybe some diagrams for visual aid?
Prompted to write this review before too many uses- but I find it useful and easy to navigate- could use an additional system grouped toc...
Great for med student cramming. Good that you can edit to fit your own ideas.
Wish I had this during medical school. Still useful for residency.
If you need that extra help with memorization, this is your app!
So I guess there was abug for 3.x but developer said is fixed in for a review thanks for a super fast reply. This app is good
Fantastic app. Lets you add your own memory aids. I am looking forward to updates mnemonics
Love it!
Never realized that there were so many. Easy to fit your needs based on your specialty.
Good stuff. Th shorter the better
Would recommend to medical students and residents. Could improve the options for creating your own mnemonics with text formatting (eg bold/italic, spaces between lines of text, etc)
Very usefull!
Love it!!!!
Have to sort through quite a few wierd ones to get to the high yielders, but I guess some might find all of them useful. I do like the ability to make a favorites list and add my own. Not perfect, but well worth the price.
This app is such great help, helps me memorize and remember content easily. I also like the feature that allows users to add their own mneumonics.
Invaluable
Good
So many to read about!! Thank you !
I like how easy it is to add your own, or edit the ones in here!
Great Tool!
Love that I can add my own.
Amazing. Only limiting factor is how many you can actually remember at the end of the day!
This is quite invaluable for med students and docs appearing for exams. One can add their own mneumonics too!
I just got this app and so far it is quite impressive. Lots of pneumonics... Ones I have heard and a couple of new ones. I am an R1 and think it's great!
Med Mnemonics Negative Reviews and Ratings
You are luckier than me, it's @ present being offered for 99c which is a steal IMHO after using the app for a week or so now. Now, if you're an aspiring med student or beginning school you may not realise it yet but mnemonics are not an 'optional' or 'alternative' style of retaining the medical knowledge you learn. With the vast amount of knowledge you will be taking in during your entire medical career, there are bound to be a few things that won't stick over time for personal reasons or maybe the knowledge just doesn't lend itself to applied thought..whatever the cause you can use this app to make sure it sticks. Pros: I feel the app has a good variety of mnemonics (as I've seen plenty online and there were some new ones here),easy accessibility to them, and fast personal entry to store one's own. Here are the Cons that are Potential winners if the developer can get these in an updated revision: 1) Allow for a central server where a personal menomic can be shared (make sharing a personal option of end-user) and rated by entire app owning community in real-time. I know this must be hard as it will have to be slotted in category etc etc but waiting for an update is too long a wait. If not this -then at least a web site where we can see users who put in mnemonics so we can do the ol' copy/paste method. I think rating is a MUST & will be an important and efficient way to separate the cream from the milk 2) Create in-app links( and option to enter site addresses within the app) to sites that host Medical menmonics there are tons of great sites where we can acquire more mnemonics to add to collection 3)Possibly a separate tips addition page in the app so noobs&experienced alike can get good, fresh ideas on how to create more efficient mnemonics. If anyone is new to this..which I doubt..here's a few practical tips in creating your own mnemonics: The more bizarre a mnemonic, the easier to remember, try to make it a colorful, wacky story, feel free to use all sorts of personal interests, innuendos and apply in creating your own mnemonic. Try to link each item to another with distinct connections (again crazier-better). Use vivid imagery. As a last option you can also use acronyms that expand causes ie HEART -various heart diseases but try and make them relevant..but remember Crazy vivid story beats logical acronym any day... Hope you get the idea..
This has been a great program for me and I would recommend it to any med student who learns via mnemonics. There are a couple of issues that have arisen with my program. First, I have lost the ability to search within my favorites but I still can overall. Second, there ought to be the ability to bold and italicize.
Good App but needs an improvement. There should be a search option specific to the region of the body, ex upper limb or head and neck. The other thing which would be helpful is to have a main server sync. So if someone decides to add a mnemonic they would sync to the server eveentually and upload their new mnemonic which would thereafter shared with others.
