I’m already obsessed with Delish’s recipes, and now I can save all my favorites in folders to stay organized! I’m especially obsessed with the one-tap timers. It’s so helpful to not have to leave the app to set multiple timers and forgetting which timer goes to which element. Can’t wait to use this more!
Regardless if we are hosting a casual night with friends or having family over, this app has every single recipe under the sun to host a perfect party. Not only do they have food recipes but the cocktail recipes are ideal for large groups to batch ahead of time so you can be present with guests.
The app is great, I am a longtime delish subscriber and I’m stoked about this release. It’s unfortunately glitchy and difficult to scroll through recipes on the main page, however once you have them saved it’s easy to scroll around in individual recipes.
I used the online all the time even with the lag here and there although the app has it to its tolerable but what I really miss is the shop recipe button that puts all the things you need for the recipe in a cart for you…I will still use the app to cook love the recipes
I can’t believe I didn’t have this already. I will never return to cooking off a website again. Cook Mode removes all the noise and excess so cooking is easier and faster

Finally after so many years of following delish I get an app I can use. Super excited to use it and make all my thanksgiving recipes which are my go to only from delish. Also happy I get a magazine.
As someone who hates cooking, I’m so excited for this app! I’m a visual learner so I absolutely love all the recipe videos. Plus other features like keeping your screen unlocked while you cook—so smart.
I LOVE the cook mode on this app. And having the in-recipe timer is a game changer. The dinner quiz is so fun! This app has everything I’ve always loved about Delish recipes and makes it just a joy to cook from.
My favorite part of this app is the dinner finder. I’m always looking for inspiration for what to make for dinner tonight and Delish has so many quick and easy (and delicious!!) options!
I love Delish and am so happy to have their recipes at my fingertips. The cook mode for recipes is great, so much easier to use than the browser on my phone.
Unique recipes that aren’t overwhelming for a novice cook like myself. I love the timer built into the app, saves so much hassle going back and forth on my phone.
Finally my favorite magazine has a recipe app! I’ve used these recipes for my girls nights, can’t wait to use the new features for my Thanksgiving dishes.
I love that I can search for recipes depending on my friends and family’s dietary restrictions. Makes hosting so much easier!!
Delish: Original Fun Recipes Negative Reviews and Ratings
Ugh! This is a paid subscription but there are still ads. I can’t scroll through 4-5 recipe headers without encountering an ad for, ironically, DoorDash. (Yeah, I know they do more than meal delivery but still…) Why am I paying to see ads? I could more than understand if there was a free version and you had to watch a “full ad” to save a recipe, as well as the click bait ads between recipe suggestions, but it’s a big fat no for me, 100% because of the ads. Also, there isn’t a free version… so I literally had to pay to see some holiday recipe ideas interspersed with ads… I would probably have kept the membership, because the recipes seem to be relevant to the search terms, have different skill levels, and the UI is set up well. But did I tell you that you are paying for an app that has ads, even after you spend money on the app?
Coming into Thanksgiving, I am in search of keto friendly recipes. Found a lot of Delish’s website but forced to use the app if I want them for free. But the recipes I’m looking for aren’t found in the app. For example, on the website is “best-ever keto stuffing”. Opening the app from this recipe goes to the front page. Opening the app from “keto bread” recipe takes me to the keto bread recipe. Not the stuffing recipe. I wasn’t able to search for this stuffing recipe either. Not in the results. I simplified my search terms to keto and tried again. Another time with stuffing. No luck. The results that loaded were slow and not very responsive to touch. Several times in attempting to scroll it registered it as a tap and opened a recipe that I didn’t want. Loading times for these actions is too long. Know what didn’t have long loading times and improved scrolling? The constant huge door dash ads. It’s my first time interacting with Delish and came away disappointed. Deleting my profile I had to create.
I’ve been without the app for 2-3 weeks and have contacted customer support twice via email and haven’t heard a response. When I open the app it just shows a white screen and content never appears. I’ve tried turning my phone off and back on but the app still isn’t working. I’ll try removing it and installing it again but I’m disappointed that I haven’t heard back from Delish customer service since I am paying to use this platform. Prior to this issue, nearly every other time I opened the app, I’m redirected to login through web browser. I’m hopeful they will improve and keep me logged in the app, since the point of an app is to avoid the web browser. My audio also stops when I open the app. I’ve been using Delish for years and have liked it, but this app has given me a lot of issues.
I subscribed to the membership because I liked the recipes I found on their website and was excited about an app existing as I use my phone when I cook. The app is so laggy that it’s inconvenient to look up recipes on it. I’ve resorted to saving them online and only using the app to pull them up to start cooking. It does turn off any music you’re playing which is annoying and I feel like the screen goes off even with “cook mode” on. I think they have the right idea here but need their developers to do better.
I just signed up for an annual plan. Next thing I know, I’m seeing offers on the site for $10 less/year than what I just paid. So that wasn’t cool. Downloaded the app. The experience is as bad as the reviews suggested. Sluggish, disorienting, and still contains ads for subscribers. Pretty lame, guys — especially since they’re all the same ad and they all say “Activate Your Account”, which is misleading — I almost clicked one! Also clicking on the account icon, then menu, then Settings, then Edit Preferences takes me to, you guessed it, the onboarding welcome screen. Tried completing the onboarding to see if that would fix it and repeated the same steps. Nope — right back to the welcome screen as if I never even completed onboarding. Stay away from Delish until they get their act together. What a joke. Give me my money back. Actually, you can keep it, but I’m out of here.
I love Delish but this app needs work. Delish is one of my most trusted recipe resources and I happily subscribe to their magazine - I have never had one of their recipes fail me. However I almost never touch this app as it crashes any time I try to open a recipe. I also find it annoying that ads remain for paid subscribers while the app itself remains so laggy - leave that for a free version. I do like the "I cooked this" feature and I would love to interact with the app more, but there are glitches every time I try to leave a note or review, watch a video, etc. A "recipe of the day" widget would be a nice feature to add to my stack (these are offered by NYT Cooking and ATK and draw me into the apps almost daily.) Hoping Delish gets on this and begins updating and improving in a more timely manner.
I was so excited for this app because I use Delish a lot, but I have been disappointed this far. I have articles saved on the website with recipes I’d like to try, but in the app you can’t view the articles, you can click on the file, but nothing is there. I decided to try the “fool proof” dinner helper, made my choices for quick healthy dinner, and got tons of recipes for drinks and desserts. While I am not opposed to those things, not helpful in the search for a quick dinner. So unfortunately the app still needs a lot of work and fine tuning. I’ve deleted it for now, but will keep an eye on it to see if it improves. If not, I’ll just keep using the website.
This is probably the worst app I have ever used. The recipes are good, there’s plenty of variety, the lay out makes sense to me and is easy to navigate, but the app rarely works. It logs me out several times a day and often does not allow me to log back in. Not with a password, not with the email link, nothing. Just sends me to a blank page. And that’s if the app will even open, often it is just a white screen. In order to get it to open I have to delete it and reinstall…. Then we’re back to not being able to log in the next day or sooner. This really needs a lot of improvement especially for an app that is not free.
I really do like this app, but it consistently presents issues. Half the time it doesn’t remember me and makes me log back in, sometimes it opens up to a blank screen so I have to go to google and look up the website just so it’ll take me to the app and open properly, and the fact that it shuts off my audio on whatever i’m listening to is also rather frustrating. I love Delish, and I use it - app or website - multiple times a week, I just hope they can continue to figure out the kinks.
I know this app is new and I’m confident it’ll improve with updates, but there’s one major issue that’s keeping me from a higher rating. Aside from the occasional lagging, I cannot listen to anything while this app is open. As soon as I open it, my audiobook, music etc stops. That fact that I can’t listen while I cook is a surprisingly big issue for me. I’ve found myself screenshotting the recipes and having to swipe back and forth between photos.
I want to love this app, that is why I subscribed. The experience has been less than I had hoped. The pictures are are too big on the landing page. The app is disorganized to a fault and the adds are everywhere. I pay for the app so I shouldn’t have ads. The recipes that I find have not been stellar. I have better luck searching on line outside of your app to find a specific type of recipe. I’m disappointed.
Trying to cancel a membership for this account is horrible. I have been going in circles on the phone with them saying they can’t find my account, meanwhile I’m getting emails from them saying my account is renewing in a few days. Maybe this is a random occurrence, but very annoying. No option to cancel on my own either. If/when this ever gets figured out, I can promise you I will not be redownloading this app. I’m gonna give it 2 stars because the app itself was cool and gave me a good recipe.
I really love this app, however, I actually pay to be subscribed to this and it’s very frustrating that it’s so glitchy all the time. I’m trying to scroll and it’s constantly reloading and bringing me back to the top of the page. I was really excited when I saw there was an app instead of just the web browser, but it is still just as bad.
Just like the regular website it consistently does not load correctly. Multiple articles I’ve tried to read are not on the app, but once you download the app it will automatically take you to the app so I had to delete it to be able to find the recipes or articles I want. I know it’s new but should probably work on the actual website before we create an app that is also bad. Please do better.
The app is a pretty bad experience as compared to other cooking apps I have or have tried. The search function is spotty. One of my saved recipes disappeared from my folder (it still existed on the app - I found it again and re-saved it). Scrolling is jerky and slow as if we’re back to using AOL dial up. The recipes seem good, though I’ve only saved four of them because I dislike the experience. These should all be easy fixes in 2025. Disappointed.
Whenever I get an email about a recipe I try to look it up in the app. I can never find it! I type in the exact same recipe title from the email and it never finds it. It usually returns some random recipe! It’s so annoying. And it keeps telling me I’m out of articles. I have at least two active subscriptions going right now. How can you not find at least one of them?! It’s just so much extra work when there are some great feee recipe websites out there. Please do better.
Whatever new update got put through today literally doesn’t work. It just goes to a white screen after the logo screen. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no dice. Please fix so I can enjoy the recipes again!
I pay for delish and it’s crazy to me that there is so many ads in the app when scrolling through recipes. There is an add for like every 4 recipes. And half the time it’s the same ad (not saying I want different ads, I want less ads!). You think the company would focus on making sure all the recipes had thumbnail photos but instead it focuses on having just a ton of ads.
Delish has been my go-to place for recipes for years but I had always wished there was an app; and now we have one! However, the images don’t load pretty often on the search view and only loads once you actually click on the recipe, making it difficult to quickly see and find the one. UPDATE: app keeps crashing and isn’t even functioning- I have uninstalled and re-installed, doesn’t fix the issue.
I constantly have issues with this app. I am always being asked to sign in and everytime I try to open it up later it acts like it’s opening and then goes to a blank white screen. It doesn’t matter if I close it out completely and retry. It works when it wants to. Nothing more frustrating when you are trying to cook or look at the shopping list and can’t get to the recipe you need.
Downloaded the app, created an account, and immediately discovered you have to sign up for a paid subscription. Wish I had known that before I created an account because more I have to delete all that. You only get to look at two free recipes (but some are not available at all) before you have to subscribe. I’m beyond done with subscriptions nickel and dime-ing us everywhere. Time to bring out my Betty Crocker cookbook.
I downloaded the app because I was looking at a particular recipe on the delish website and had about 12 popups before I just downloaded the app assuming it was better. I search the same recipe and found it on the app and it immediately tells me “this recipe is only for plus users” …it’s chicken quesadillas. I’m not paying to see a recipe I might not even end up using on an app I just downloaded and haven’t used once. Crazy experience.
I wish I could write a spectacular review because the recipes I’ve made are incredibly yummy and the app is well layed out. Unfortunately delish which was completely FREE is now charging people money for a subscription to have access to their recipes. Just another big company gone greedy. I won’t be participating i IMMEDIATELY screenshot all the recipes in my library and promptly deleted the app. Capitalistic greed always ruins everything. No thanks.
Delish now requires you to use the app and the app interface is garbage. You also can no longer see any images of the recipes that Delish sends you, as everything is blurred out when you click on an article. You sign in, and you are no longer looking at the e-mailed recipes, you just see the home page of the app. I will not be renewing my subscription. Bummer because I’ve been a subscriber for years.
Why have a feature in the recipes that allow you to set a timer for the directed amount of time, when it clears after you leave the app? I’m not talking shutting the app down, I’m talking scrolling to another app while you’re waiting on your food to cook! What am I supposed to do sit there and stare at the delish app while my food cooks! I’m currently guessing when my food is going to be done cause your trash app cleared the timer.
Ever since Delish came out with this app, I cannot print a decent copy of their recipes. I don’t like the screen view of this app and I can’t cook off of it from just my phone/pad due to the limited view. When I try to print from the website now, half the page is taken up with a huge ad for the app. I will probably cancel my Delish subscription due to these changes
The app crashes all the time, unfortunately anytime you get an email with a recipe you wanna try those are all part of the subscription. They refused to pay for subscription recipes when the Internet is full of recipes for free. I will be unsubscribing from all emails and removing the app from my phone. I can’t even get the app open half the time.
It’s frustrating how trying to save a recipe results in a 50/50 if the app will actually let you or not. I see more error messages than not. I will wait a day, refresh, and have even checked for updates to not have the problem fixed after a week is beyond annoying.
I really wanted to like this app. Unfortunately, it just doesn’t work. From a search bar that lags and tries to input text you aren’t writing to recipes that never save no matter how many times you click the bookmark button - it’s a bad user experience. It honestly feels like I’m navigating around in a beta version app. I’ll stick to the website from now on.
Nothing displays when I open the app and this has been going on for several days now. I have refreshed and restarted my phone multiple times. There’s no updates to fix any bugs. Currently back to using the website until this is fixed.
So lacking compared to the website. Why can’t I scroll through ALL my saved recipes. Stops after 20…every time. Why doesn’t search deliver all the recipes I see online when requesting a specific category? This app needs MANY fixes to be useable.
I just got an air fryer, so I thought I’d look up recipes. So Delish gives me an ad for their app, I download it. I sign up, and do their preferences quiz…and then it gives me my recipe feed. And it is EVERYTHING. I. LEFT. UNSELECTED. I left sweets off the list, all I see is desserts and BOOZE…that’s really something that needs to be a preference we can choose. Especially people who DO NOT DRINK, or CANNOT drink. I got everything I didn’t want. Don’t bother with this app.
I still get emails from Delish, before the app, I could click the link in an email and it would take me to the recipe, now it takes me to the app, but not to the recipe. Usually I get an error. I was excited to see an app, but I’d rather go back to the website. Hopefully the bugs get worked out soon otherwise there is no point in me keeping the app.
This app is glitchy and should not have been rolled out. I still use the website since it’s so slow, often won’t pull up my saved without going back to the top of the list so I have to start over again and the search function is too wide to make usable. I don’t normally write reviews but this is just awful.
I was in love with this app! It made making dinner so easy and refreshing! There is a wonderful variety to choose from and I would have used this app every day! Unfortunately, it is no longer free and I refuse to pay a subscription when I can find free recipes online. I am truly disappointed that there is no longer a free version.
I used to love this app, it had great recipes and a very simple user interface. Have had it and been using it for about 4 months now but suddenly I tried to view a recipe I had saved and they are claiming it’s for the premium membership only now. Immediate uninstall and will never use again
The website is littered with ads and sends you to the app. The recipes are now blocked behind a paywall on the app making it worthless. If you like their recipes print to pdf from the website and email them to yourself, or just find another service until they figure out how to make a decent app.
